1. യഹോവ സീനായി പര്വ്വതത്തില്വെച്ചു മോശെയോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത കാലത്തു അഹരോന്റെയും മോശെയുടെയും വംശപാരമ്പര്യമാവിതു

1. When the LORD talked with Moses on Mount Sinai,

2. അഹരോന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരുടെ പേരുകള് ഇവആദ്യജാതന് നാദാബ്, അബീഹൂ, എലെയാസാര്, ഈഥാമാര്.

2. Aaron's four sons, Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar,

3. പുരോഹിതശുശ്രൂഷചെയ്വാന് പ്രതിഷ്ഠിക്കപ്പെട്ടവരായി അഭിഷേകം ലഭിച്ച പുരോഹിതന്മാരായ അഹരോന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരുടെ പേരുകള് ഇവ തന്നേ.

3. were the ones to be ordained as priests.

4. എന്നാല് നാദാബും അബീഹൂവും സീനായിമരുഭൂമിയില്വെച്ചു യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയില് അന്യാഗ്നി കത്തിച്ചപ്പോള് യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയില്വെച്ചു മരിച്ചുപോയി; അവര്ക്കും മക്കള് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല; എലെയാസാരും ഈഥാമാരും അപ്പനായ അഹരോന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ പുരോഹിത ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്തുപോന്നു.

4. But the LORD killed Nadab and Abihu in the Sinai Desert when they used fire that was unacceptable in their offering to the LORD. And because Nadab and Abihu had no sons, only Eleazar and Ithamar served as priests with their father Aaron.

5. യഹോവ പിന്നെയും മോശെയോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു

5. The LORD said to Moses:

6. നീ ലേവിഗോത്രത്തെ അടുക്കല് വരുത്തി പുരോഹിതനായ അഹരോന്നു ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന്നു അവന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ നിര്ത്തുക.

6. Assign the Levi tribe to Aaron the priest. They will be his assistants

7. അവര് സമാഗമനക്കുടാരത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പില് അവന്റെ കാര്യവും സര്വ്വസഭയുടെ കാര്യവും നോക്കി തിരുനിവാസത്തിലെ വേല ചെയ്യേണം.

7. and will work at the sacred tent for him and for all the Israelites.

8. അവര് സമാഗമനക്കുടാരത്തിന്നുള്ള ഉപകരണങ്ങളൊക്കെയും യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളുടെ കാര്യവും നോക്കി കൂടാരം സംബന്ധിച്ചുള്ള വേല ചെയ്യേണം.

8. The Levites will serve the community by being responsible for the furnishings of the tent.

9. നീ ലേവ്യരെ അഹരോന്നും അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര്ക്കും കൊടുക്കേണം; യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളില്നിന്നു അവര് അവന്നു സാക്ഷാല് ദാനമായുള്ളവര് ആകുന്നു.

9. They are assigned to help Aaron and his sons,

10. അഹരോനെയും പുത്രന്മാരെയും പൌരോഹിത്യം നടത്തുവാന് നിയമിച്ചാക്കേണം; അടുത്തുവരുന്ന അന്യന് മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കേണം.

10. who have been appointed to be priests. Anyone else who tries to perform the duties of a priest must be put to death.

11. യഹോവ പിന്നെയും മോശെയോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു

11. Moses, I have chosen these Levites from all Israel, and they will belong to me in a special way. When I killed the first-born sons of the Egyptians, I decided that the first-born sons in every Israelite family and the first-born males of their flocks and herds would be mine. But now I accept these Levites in place of the first-born sons of the Israelites.

12. യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളുടെ ഇടയില് പിറക്കുന്ന എല്ലാ കടിഞ്ഞൂലിന്നും പകരം ഞാന് ലേവ്യരെ യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളില്നിന്നു എടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു; ലേവ്യര് എനിക്കുള്ളവരായിരിക്കേണം.

13. കടിഞ്ഞൂലെല്ലാം എനിക്കുള്ളതു; ഞാന് മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തു കടിഞ്ഞൂലിനെ ഒക്കെയും കൊന്നനാളില് യിസ്രായേലില് മനുഷ്യന്റെയും മൃഗത്തിന്റെയും കടിഞ്ഞൂലിനെയെല്ലാം എനിക്കായിട്ടു ശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചു; അതു എനിക്കുള്ളതായിരിക്കേണം; ഞാന് യഹോവ ആകുന്നു.

14. യഹോവ പിന്നെയും സീനായിമരുഭൂമിയില്വെച്ചു മോശെയോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു

14. In the Sinai Desert the LORD said to Moses,

15. ലേവ്യരെ കുലംകുലമായും കുടുംബംകുടുംബമായും എണ്ണുക; അവരില് ഒരു മാസംമുതല് മേലോട്ടു പ്രായമുള്ള ആണിനെ ഒക്കെയും നീ എണ്ണേണം.

15. 'Now I want you to count the men and boys in the Levi tribe by families and by clans. Include every one at least a month old.'

16. തന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ മോശെ യഹോവയുടെ വചനപ്രകാരം അവരെ എണ്ണി.

16. So Moses obeyed and counted them.

17. ലേവിയുടെ പുത്രന്മാരുടെ പേരുകള്ഗേര്ശോന് , കെഹാത്ത്, മെരാരി.

17. Levi's three sons, Gershon, Kohath, and Merari, had become the heads of their own clans.

18. കുടുംബംകുടുംബമായി ഗേര്ശോന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരുടെ പേരുകള്

18. Gershon's sons were Libni and Shimei.

19. ലിബ്നി, ശിമെയി. കുടുംബംകുടുംബമായി കെഹാത്തിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര്അമ്രാം, യിസ്ഹാര്, ഹെബ്രോന് , ഉസ്സീയേല്.

19. Kohath's sons were Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel.

20. കുടുംബംകുടുംബമായി മെരാരിയുടെ പുത്രന്മാര്മഹ്ളി, മൂശി. ഇവര് തന്നേ കുലംകുലമായി ലേവിയുടെ കുടുംബങ്ങള്.

20. And Merari's sons were Mahli and Mushi. These were the sons and grandsons of Levi, and they had become the leaders of the Levite clans.

21. ഗേര്ശോനില്നിന്നു ലിബ്നിയരുടെ കുടുംബവും ശിമ്യരുടെ കുടുംബവും ഉത്ഭവിച്ചു; ഇവ ഗേര്ശോന്യ കുടുംബങ്ങള്.

21. The two Gershon clans were the Libnites and Shimeites,

22. അവരില് ഒരു മാസം മുതല് മേലോട്ടു പ്രായമുള്ള ആണുങ്ങളുടെ സംഖ്യയില് എണ്ണപ്പെട്ടവരുടെ ആകത്തുക ഏഴായിരത്തഞ്ഞൂറു.

22. and they had seven thousand five hundred men and boys at least one month old.

23. ഗേര്ശോന്യകുടുംബങ്ങള് തിരുനിവാസത്തിന്റെ പുറകില് പടിഞ്ഞാറെ ഭാഗത്തു പാളയമിറങ്ങേണം.

23. The Gershonites were to camp on the west side of the sacred tent,

24. ഗേര്ശോന്യരുടെ പിതൃഭവനത്തിന്നു ലായേലിന്റെ മകന് എലീയാസാഫ് പ്രഭു ആയിരിക്കേണം.

24. under the leadership of Eliasaph son of Lael.

25. സമാഗമനക്കുടാരത്തില് ഗേര്ശോന്യര് നോക്കേണ്ടതു തിരുനിവാസവും കൂടാരവും അതിന്റെ പുറമൂടിയും സമാഗമനക്കുടാരത്തിന്റെ വാതിലിന്നുള്ള മറശ്ശീലയും

25. Their duties at the tent included taking care of the tent itself, along with its outer covering, the curtain for the entrance,

26. തിരുനിവാസത്തിന്നും യാഗപീഠത്തിന്നും ചുറ്റുമുള്ള പ്രാകാരത്തിന്റെ മറശ്ശീലയും പ്രാകാരവാതിലിന്റെ മറശ്ശീലയും അതിന്റെ എല്ലാവേലെക്കും ഉള്ള കയറുകളും ആകുന്നു.

26. the curtains hanging inside the courtyard around the tent, as well as the curtain and ropes for the entrance to the courtyard and its altar. The Gershonites were responsible for setting these things up and taking them down.

27. കെഹാത്തില്നിന്നു അമ്രാമ്യരുടെ കുടുംബവും യിസ്ഹാര്യ്യരുടെ കുടുംബവും ഹെബ്രോന്യരുടെ കുടുംബവും ഉസ്സീയേല്യരുടെ കുടുംബവും ഉത്ഭവിച്ചു.

27. The four Kohath clans were the Amramites, Izharites, Hebronites, and the Uzzielites,

28. ഇവ കെഹാത്യരുടെ കുടുംബങ്ങള്. ഒരു മാസംമുതല് മേലോട്ടു പ്രായമുള്ള എല്ലാ ആണുങ്ങളുടെയും സംഖ്യയില് വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരത്തിന്റെ കാര്യം നോക്കുന്നവര് എണ്ണായിരത്തറുനൂറു പേര്.

28. and they had eight thousand six hundred men and boys at least one month old.

29. കെഹാത്യകുടുംബങ്ങള് തിരുനിവാസത്തിന്റെ തെക്കെ ഭാഗത്തു പാളയമിറങ്ങേണം.

29. The Kohathites were to camp on the south side of the sacred tent,

30. കെഹാത്യ കുടുംബങ്ങളുടെ പിതൃഭവനത്തിന്നു ഉസ്സീയേലിന്റെ മകന് എലീസാഫാന് പ്രഭു ആയിരിക്കേണം.

30. under the leadership of Elizaphan son of Uzziel.

31. അവര് നോക്കേണ്ടതു പെട്ടകം, മേശ, നിലവിളകൂ, പീഠങ്ങള്, വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരത്തിലെ ശുശ്രൂഷെക്കുള്ള ഉപകരണങ്ങള്, തിരശ്ശീല എന്നിവയും അവേക്കുള്ള വേല ഒക്കെയും ആകുന്നു.

31. Their duties at the tent included taking care of the sacred chest, the table for the sacred bread, the lampstand, the altars, the objects used for worship, and the curtain in front of the most holy place. The Kohathites were responsible for setting these things up and taking them down.

32. പുരോഹിതനായ അഹരോന്റെ മകന് എലെയാസാര് ലേവ്യര്ക്കും പ്രധാനപ്രഭുവും വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരത്തിലെ കാര്യം നോക്കുന്നവരുടെ മേല്വിചാരകനും ആയിരിക്കേണം.

32. Eleazar son of Aaron was the head of the Levite leaders, and he made sure that the work at the sacred tent was done.

33. മെരാരിയില്നിന്നു മഹ്ളിയരുടെ കുടുംബവും മൂശ്യരുടെ കുടുംബവും ഉത്ഭവിച്ചു; മെരാര്യ്യകുടുംബങ്ങള് ഇവ തന്നേ.

33. The two Merari clans were the Mahlites and the Mushites,

34. അവരില് ഒരു മാസംമുതല് മേലോട്ടു പ്രായമുള്ള ആണുങ്ങളുടെ സംഖ്യയില് എണ്ണപ്പെട്ടവര് ആറായിരത്തിരുനൂറു പേര്.

34. and they had six thousand two hundred men and boys at least one month old.

35. മെരാര്യ്യകുടുംബങ്ങളുടെ പിതൃഭവനത്തിന്നു അബീഹയിലിന്റെ മകന് സൂരിയേല് പ്രഭു ആയിരിക്കേണം; ഇവര് തിരുനിവാസത്തിന്റെ വടക്കെ ഭാഗത്തു പാളയമിറങ്ങേണം.

35. The Merarites were to camp on the north side of the sacred tent, under the leadership of Zuriel son of Abihail.

36. മെരാര്യ്യര് നോക്കുവാന് നിയമിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളതു തിരുനിവാസത്തിന്റെ പലക, അന്താഴം, തൂണ്, ചുവട്, അതിന്റെ ഉപകരണങ്ങള് ഒക്കെയും, അതു സംബന്ധിച്ചുള്ള എല്ലാവേലയും,

36. Their duties included taking care of the tent frames and the pieces that held the tent up: the bars, the posts, the stands, and its other equipment. They were also in charge of the posts that supported the courtyard, as well as their stands, tent pegs, and ropes. The Merari clans were responsible for setting these things up and taking them down.

37. പ്രാകാരത്തിന്റെ ചുറ്റും ഉള്ള തൂണ്, അവയുടെ ചുവടു, കുറ്റി, കയറു എന്നിവ.

38. Moses, Aaron, and his sons were to camp in front of the sacred tent, on the east side, and to make sure that the Israelites worshiped in the proper way. Anyone else who tried to do the work of Moses and Aaron was to be put to death.

39. മോശെയും അഹരോനും യഹോവയുടെ വചനപ്രകാരം കുടുംബംകുടുംബമായി എണ്ണിയ ലേവ്യരില് ഒരു മാസംമുതല് മോലോട്ടു പ്രായമുള്ള ആണുങ്ങള് ആകെ ഇരുപത്തീരായിരം പേര്.

39. So Moses and Aaron obeyed the LORD and counted the Levites by their clans. The total number of Levites at least one month old was twenty-two thousand.

40. യഹോവ പിന്നെയും മോശെയോടു കല്പിച്ചതുയിസ്രായേല്മക്കളില് ഒരു മാസംമുതല് മേലോട്ടു പ്രായമുള്ള ആദ്യജാതന്മാരായ ആണുങ്ങളെ ഒക്കെയും എണ്ണി പേരുപേരായി അവരുടെ സംഖ്യ എടുക്കുക.

40. The LORD said to Moses, 'Make a list and count the first-born sons at least one month old in each of the Israelite families.

41. യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളിലെ എല്ലാകടിഞ്ഞൂലുകള്ക്കും പകരം ലേവ്യരുടെ മൃഗങ്ങളെയും എനിക്കായിട്ടു എടുക്കേണം; ഞാന് യഹോവ ആകുന്നു.

41. They belong to me, but I will accept the Levites as substitutes for them, and I will accept the Levites' livestock as substitutes for the Israelites' first-born livestock.'

42. യഹോവ തന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ മോശെ യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളുടെ എല്ലാകടിഞ്ഞൂലുകളെയും എണ്ണി.

42. Moses obeyed the LORD and counted the first-born sons;

43. ഒരു മാസംമുതല് മേലോട്ടു പ്രായമുള്ള ആദ്യജാതന്മാരായ എല്ലാ ആണുങ്ങളെയും പേരുപേരായി എണ്ണിയ ആകത്തുക ഇരുപത്തീരായിരത്തിരുനൂറ്റെഴുപത്തുമൂന്നു ആയിരുന്നു.

43. there were 22,273 of them.

44. യഹോവ പിന്നെയും മോശെയോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു

44. Then the LORD said,

45. യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളില് എല്ലാ കടിഞ്ഞൂലുകള്ക്കും പകരം ലേവ്യരെയും അവരുടെ മൃഗങ്ങള്ക്കു പകരം ലേവ്യരുടെ മൃഗങ്ങളെയും എടുക്ക; ലേവ്യര് എനിക്കുള്ളവരായിരിക്കേണം; ഞാന് യഹോവ ആകുന്നു.

45. 'The Levites will belong to me and will take the place of the first-born sons; their livestock will take the place of the Israelites' first-born livestock.

46. യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളുടെ കടിഞ്ഞൂലുകളില് ലേവ്യരുടെ എണ്ണത്തെ കവിഞ്ഞുള്ള ഇരുനൂറ്റെഴുപത്തുമൂന്നു പേരുടെ വീണ്ടെടുപ്പിന്നായി തലകൂ അഞ്ചു ശേക്കെല് വീതം വാങ്ങേണം;

46. But since there are more first-born sons than Levites, the extra two hundred seventy-three men and boys must be bought back from me.

47. വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരത്തിലെ തൂക്കപ്രകാരം ശേക്കെല് ഒന്നിന്നു ഇരുപതു ഗേരാവെച്ചു വാങ്ങേണം.

47. For each one, you are to collect five pieces of silver, weighed according to the official standards.

48. അവരുടെ എണ്ണത്തെ കവിയുന്നവരുടെ വീണ്ടെടുപ്പുവില അഹരോന്നും അവന്റെ മക്കള്ക്കും കൊടുക്കേണം.

48. This money must then be given to Aaron and his sons.'

49. ലേവ്യരെക്കൊണ്ടു വീണ്ടെടുത്തവരുടെ എണ്ണത്തെ കവിഞ്ഞുള്ളവരുടെ വീണ്ടെടുപ്പുവില മോശെ വാങ്ങി.

49. Moses collected the silver from the extra two hundred seventy-three first-born men and boys,

50. യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളുടെ ആദ്യജാതന്മാരോടു അവന് വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരത്തിലെ തൂക്കപ്രകാരം ഒരായിരത്തി മൂന്നൂറ്ററുപത്തഞ്ചു ശേക്കെല് പണം വാങ്ങി.

50. and it amounted to one thousand three hundred sixty-five pieces of silver, weighed according to the official standards.

51. യഹോവ മോശെയോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ വീണ്ടെടുത്തവരുടെ വില മോശെ അഹരോന്നും അവന്റെ മക്കള്ക്കും യഹോവയുടെ വചനപ്രകാരം കൊടുത്തു.

51. Then he gave it to Aaron and his sons, just as the LORD had commanded.
