1. അവര് മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു പോന്നതിന്റെ രണ്ടാം സംവത്സരം ഒന്നാം മാസം യഹോവ സീനായിമരുഭൂമിയില്വെച്ചു മോശെയോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു എന്തെന്നാല്

1. The Lord spoke to Moses in the Desert of Sinai in the first month of the second year after the Israelites left Egypt. He said,

2. യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് പെസഹ അതിന്നു നിശ്ചയിച്ച സമയത്തു ആചരിക്കേണം.

2. 'Tell the Israelites to celebrate the Passover at the appointed time.

3. അതിന്നു നിശ്ചയിച്ച സമയമായ ഈ മാസം പതിന്നാലാം തിയ്യതി വൈകുന്നേരം അതു ആചരിക്കേണം; അതിന്റെ എല്ലാചട്ടങ്ങള്ക്കും നിയമങ്ങള്ക്കും അനുസരണയായി നിങ്ങള് അതു ആചരിക്കേണം.

3. That appointed time is the fourteenth day of this month at twilight; they must obey all the rules about it.'

4. പെസഹ ആചരിക്കേണമെന്നു മോശെ യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

4. So Moses told the Israelites to celebrate the Passover,

5. അങ്ങനെ അവര് ഒന്നാം മാസം പതിന്നാലാം തിയ്യതി സന്ധ്യാസമയത്തു സീനായിമരുഭൂമിയില്വെച്ചു പെസഹ ആചരിച്ചു; യഹോവ മോശെയോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് ചെയ്തു.

5. and they did; it was in the Desert of Sinai at twilight on the fourteenth day of the first month. The Israelites did everything just as the Lord commanded Moses.

6. എന്നാല് ഒരു മനുഷ്യന്റെ ശവത്താല് അശുദ്ധരായിത്തീര്ന്നിട്ടു ആ നാളില് പെസഹ ആചരിപ്പാന് കഴിയാത്ത ചിലര് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവര് അന്നുതന്നേ മോശെയുടെയും അഹരോന്റെയും മുമ്പാകെ വന്നു അവനോടു

6. But some of the people could not celebrate the Passover on that day because they were unclean from touching a dead body. So they went to Moses and Aaron that day and

7. said to Moses, 'We are unclean because of touching a dead body. But why should we be kept from offering gifts to the Lord at this appointed time? Why can't we join the other Israelites?'

8. മോശെ അവരോടുനില്പിന് ; യഹോവ നിങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു കല്പിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു ഞാന് കേള്ക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

8. Moses said to them, 'Wait, and I will find out what the Lord says about you.'

9. എന്നാറെ യഹോവ മോശെയോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു.

9. Then the Lord said to Moses,

10. നീ യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളോടു പറയേണ്ടതു എന്തെന്നാല്നിങ്ങളിലോ നിങ്ങളുടെ സന്തതികളിലോ വല്ലവനും ശവത്താല് അശുദ്ധനാകയോ ദൂരയാത്രയില് ആയിരിക്കയോ ചെയ്താലും അവന് യഹോവേക്കു പെസഹ ആചരിക്കേണം.

10. Tell the Israelites this: 'If you or your descendants become unclean because of a dead body, or if you are away on a trip during the Passover, you must still celebrate the Lord's Passover.

11. രണ്ടാം മാസം പതിന്നാലാം തിയ്യതി സന്ധ്യാസമയത്തു അവര് അതു ആചരിച്ചു പുളിപ്പില്ലാത്ത അപ്പത്തോടും കൈപ്പുചീരയോടും കൂടെ അതു ഭക്ഷിക്കേണം.

11. But celebrate it at twilight on the fourteenth day of the second month. Eat the lamb with bitter herbs and bread made without yeast.

12. രാവിലത്തേക്കു അതില് ഒന്നും ശേഷിപ്പിച്ചുവെക്കരുതു; അതിന്റെ അസ്ഥിയൊന്നും ഒടിക്കയും അരുതു; പെസഹയുടെ ചട്ടപ്രകാരമൊക്കെയും അവര് അതു ആചരിക്കേണം.

12. Don't leave any of it until the next morning or break any of its bones. When you celebrate the Passover, follow all the rules.

13. എന്നാല് ശുദ്ധിയുള്ളവനും പ്രയാണത്തില് അല്ലാത്തവനുമായ ഒരുത്തന് പെസഹ ആചരിക്കാതെ വീഴ്ച വരുത്തിയാല് അവനെ അവന്റെ ജനത്തില്നിന്നു ഛേദിച്ചുകളയേണം; നിശ്ചയിച്ച സമയത്തു യഹോവയുടെ വഴിപാടു കഴിക്കായ്കകൊണ്ടു അവന് തന്റെ പാപം വഹിക്കേണം.

13. Anyone who is clean and is not away on a trip but does not eat the Passover must be cut off from the people. That person did not give an offering to the Lord at the appointed time and must be punished for the sin.

14. നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് വന്നുപാര്ക്കുംന്ന ഒരു പരദേശിക്കു യഹോവയുടെ പെസഹ ആചരിക്കേണമെങ്കില് പെസഹയുടെ ചട്ടത്തിന്നും നിയമത്തിന്നും അനുസരണയായി അവന് ആചരിക്കേണം; പരദേശിക്കാകട്ടെ സ്വദേശിക്കാകട്ടെ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഒരു ചട്ടം തന്നേ ആയിരിക്കേണം.

14. 'Foreigners among you may celebrate the Lord's Passover, but they must follow all the rules. You must have the same rules for foreigners as you have for yourselves.''

15. തിരുനിവാസം നിവിര്ത്തുനിര്ത്തിയ നാളില് മേഘം സാക്ഷ്യകൂടാരമെന്ന തിരുനിവാസത്തെ മൂടി; സന്ധ്യാസമയംതൊട്ടു രാവിലെവരെ അതു തിരുനിവാസത്തിന്മേല് അഗ്നിപ്രകാശംപോലെ ആയിരുന്നു.

15. On the day the Holy Tent, the Tent of the Agreement, was set up, a cloud covered it. From dusk until dawn the cloud above the Tent looked like fire.

16. അതു എല്ലായ്പോഴും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ആയിരുന്നു; പകല് മേഘവും രാത്രി അഗ്നിരൂപവും അതിനെ മൂടിയിരുന്നു.

16. The cloud stayed above the Tent, and at night it looked like fire.

17. മേഘം കൂടാരത്തിന്മേല് നിന്നു പൊങ്ങുമ്പോള് യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് യാത്ര പുറപ്പെടും; മേഘം നിലക്കുന്നേടത്തു അവര് പാളയമിറങ്ങും.

17. When the cloud moved from its place over the Tent, the Israelites moved, and wherever the cloud stopped, the Israelites camped.

18. യഹോവയുടെ കല്പനപോലെ യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് യാത്ര പുറപ്പെടുകയും യഹോവയുടെ കല്പനപോലെ പാളയമിറങ്ങുകയും ചെയ്തു; മേഘം തിരുനിവാസത്തിന്മേല് നിലക്കുമ്പോള് ഒക്കെയും അവര് പാളയമടിച്ചു താമസിക്കും,

18. So the Israelites moved at the Lord's command, and they camped at his command. While the cloud stayed over the Tent, they remained camped.

19. മേഘം തിരുനിവാസത്തിന്മേല് ഏറെനാള് ഇരുന്നു എങ്കില് യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് യാത്രപുറപ്പെടാതെ യഹോവയുടെ ആജ്ഞ കാത്തുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കും.

19. Sometimes the cloud stayed over the Tent for a long time, but the Israelites obeyed the Lord and did not move.

20. ചിലപ്പോള് മേഘം തിരുനിവാസത്തിന്മേല് കുറെനാള് ഇരിക്കും; അപ്പോള് അവര് യഹോവയുടെ കല്പനപോലെ പാളയമിറങ്ങിയിരിക്കും; പിന്നെ യഹോവയുടെ കല്പന പോലെ യാത്ര പുറപ്പെടും.

20. Sometimes the cloud was over it only a few days. At the Lord's command the people camped, and at his command they moved.

21. ചിലപ്പോള് മേഘം സന്ധ്യമുതല് ഉഷസ്സുവരെ ഇരിക്കും; ഉഷ:കാലത്തു മേഘം പൊങ്ങി എങ്കില് അവര് യാത്ര പുറപ്പെടും. ചിലപ്പോള് പകലും രാവും ഇരിക്കും; പിന്നെ മേഘം പൊങ്ങിയെങ്കില് അവര് യാത്ര പുറപ്പെടും.

21. Sometimes the cloud stayed only from dusk until dawn; when the cloud lifted the next morning, the people moved. When the cloud lifted, day or night, the people moved.

22. രണ്ടു ദിവസമോ ഒരു മാസമോ ഒരു സംവത്സരമോ മേഘം തിരുനിവാസത്തിന്മേല് ആവസിച്ചിരുന്നാല് യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് പുറപ്പെടാതെ പാളയമടിച്ചു താമസിക്കും; അതു പൊങ്ങുമ്പോഴോ അവര് പുറപ്പെടും.

22. The cloud might stay over the Tent for two days, a month, or a year. As long as it stayed, the people camped, but when it lifted, they moved.

23. യഹോവയുടെ കല്പനപോലെ അവര് പാളയമിറങ്ങുകയും യഹോവയുടെ കല്പനപോലെ യാത്ര പുറപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്യും; മോശെമുഖാന്തരം യഹോവ കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ അവര് യഹോവയുടെ ആജ്ഞ പ്രമാണിച്ചു.

23. At the Lord's command the people camped, and at his command they moved. They obeyed the Lord's order that he commanded through Moses.
