1. അനന്തരം യെരൂശലേമില്നിന്നു പരീശന്മാരും ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും യേശുവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു

1. Some of the teachers of the Law and the proud religious lawkeepers from Jerusalem came to Jesus. They asked,

2. നിന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര് പൂര്വന്മാരുടെ സന്പ്രദായം ലംഘിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു? അവര് ഭക്ഷിക്കുമ്പോള് കൈ കഴുകുന്നില്ലല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു

2. Why do Your followers not obey the teaching that was given to them by our fathers? They do not wash their hands before they eat.'

3. അവന് അവരോടു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതു“നിങ്ങളുടെ സന്പ്രദായംകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങള് ദൈവകല്പന ലംഘിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു?

3. Jesus said to them, 'Why do you break the Law of God by trying to keep their teaching?

4. അപ്പനെയും അമ്മയെയും ബഹുമാനിക്ക എന്നും അപ്പനെയോ അമ്മയെയോ ദുഷിക്കുന്നവന് മരിക്കേണം എന്നും ദൈവം കല്പിച്ചുവല്ലോ.

4. For God said, 'Show respect to your father and mother.' (Exodus 20:12) And, 'He who curses his father or mother will be put to death.' (Exodus 21:17)

5. നിങ്ങളോ ഒരുത്തന് അപ്പനോടു എങ്കിലും അമ്മയോടു എങ്കിലുംനിനക്കു എന്നാല് ഉപകാരമായി വരേണ്ടതു വഴിപാടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാല്

5. But you say that if a man says to his parents that anything he has, that might have been of help to them, is already given to God,

6. അവന് അപ്പനെ ബഹുമാനിക്കേണ്ടാ എന്നു പറയുന്നു; ഇങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങളുടെ സന്പ്രദായത്താല് നിങ്ങള് ദൈവവചനത്തെ ദുര്ബ്ബലമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

6. he does not have to show respect by helping his father and mother. You are putting aside the Word of God to keep their teaching.

7. കപടഭക്തിക്കാരേ, നിങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു യെശയ്യാവു:”

7. You who pretend to be someone you are not, Isaiah told about you. He said,

8. ഈ ജനം അധരം കൊണ്ടു എന്നെ ബഹുമാനിക്കുന്നു; എങ്കിലും അവരുടെ ഹൃദയം എന്നെ വിട്ടു അകന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.
യെശയ്യാ 29:13

8. 'These people show respect to Me with their mouth, but their heart is far from Me.

9. മാനുഷകല്പനകളായ ഉപദേശങ്ങളെ അവര് പഠിപ്പിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു എന്നെ വ്യര്ത്ഥമായി ഭജിക്കുന്നു' “എന്നിങ്ങനെ പ്രവചിച്ചതു ഒത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.”
യെശയ്യാ 29:13

9. Their worship of Me is worth nothing. They teach what men have made up.' ' (Isaiah 29:13)

10. പിന്നെ അവന് പുരുഷാരത്തെ അരികെ വിളിച്ചു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു“കേട്ടു ഗ്രഹിച്ചു കൊള്വിന് .

10. Jesus called the people to Him and said to them, 'Listen and understand this!

11. മനുഷ്യന്നു അശുദ്ധിവരുത്തുന്നതു വായിക്കകത്തു ചെല്ലുന്നതു അല്ല, വായില് നിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുന്നതത്രേ; അതു മനുഷ്യനെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കുന്നു.”

11. It is not what goes into a man's mouth that makes his mind and heart sinful. It is what comes out of a man's mouth that makes him sinful.'

12. അപ്പോള് ശിഷ്യന്മാര് അടുക്കെ വന്നുപരീശന്മാര് ഈ വാക്കു കേട്ടു ഇടറിപ്പോയി എന്നു അറിയുന്നുവോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

12. His followers came to Him. They said, 'Did You know the proud religious law-keepers were ashamed and turned away because of You when they heard this?'

13. അതിന്നു അവന് “സ്വര്ഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ എന്റെ പിതാവു നട്ടിട്ടില്ലാത്ത തൈഒക്കെയും വേരോടെ പറിഞ്ഞുപോകും.

13. He said, 'Every plant that My Father in heaven did not plant will be pulled up by the roots.

14. അവരെ വിടുവിന് ; അവര് കുരുടന്മാരായ വഴികാട്ടികള് അത്രേ; കുരുടന് കുരുടനെ വഴിനടത്തിയാല് ഇരുവരും കുഴിയില് വീഴും എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

14. Let them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind. If one blind man leads another blind man, they will both fall into a hole.'

15. പത്രൊസ് അവനോടുആ ഉപമ ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു തെളിയിച്ചുതരേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

15. Then Peter said to Jesus, 'Tell us this picture-story so we can understand it.'

16. അതിന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞതു“നിങ്ങളും ഇന്നുവരെ ബോധമില്ലാത്തവരോ?

16. Jesus said, 'Do you not understand yet?

17. വായിക്കകത്തു കടക്കുന്നതു എല്ലാം വയറ്റില് ചെന്നിട്ടു മറപ്പുരയില് പോകുന്നു എന്നു ഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നില്ലയോ?

17. Do you not understand that whatever goes into the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body?

18. വായില് നിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുന്നതോ ഹൃദയത്തില്നിന്നു വരുന്നു; അതു മനുഷ്യനെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കുന്നു.

18. But whatever comes from the mouth has come out of the heart. These things make the man unclean inside.

19. എങ്ങനെയെന്നാല് ദുശ്ചിന്ത, കുലപാതകം, വ്യഭിചാരം, പരസംഗം, മോഷണം, കള്ളസാക്ഷ്യം, ദൂഷണം എന്നിവ ഹൃദയത്തില് നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടുവരുന്നു.

19. For out of the heart come bad thoughts, killing other people, sex sins of a married person, sex sins of a person not married, stealing, lying, speaking against God.

20. മനുഷ്യനെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കുന്നതു ഇതത്രേ; കഴുകാത്ത കൈകൊണ്ടു ഭക്ഷിക്കുന്നതോ മനുഷ്യനെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കുന്നില്ല.”

20. These are the things that make the man unclean inside. It does not make a man sinful to eat with hands that have not been washed.'

21. യേശു അവിടം വിട്ടു, സോര് സീദോന് എന്ന പ്രദേശങ്ങളിലേക്കു വാങ്ങിപ്പോയി.

21. Jesus went from there to the cities of Tyre and Sidon.

22. ആ ദേശത്തുനിന്നു ഒരു കനാന്യ സ്ത്രീ വന്നു, അവനോടുകര്ത്താവേ, ദാവീദ് പുത്രാ, എന്നോടു കരുണ തോന്നേണമേ; എന്റെ മകള്ക്കു ഭൂതോപദ്രവം കഠിനമായിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു നിലവിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

22. A woman came from the land of Canaan. She cried out to Jesus and said, 'Take pity on me, Lord, Son of David! My daughter has a demon and is much troubled.'

23. അവന് അവളോടു ഒരു വാക്കും ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞില്ല; അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര് അടുക്കെ, വന്നുഅവള് നമ്മുടെ പിന്നാലെ നിലവിളിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു വരുന്നു; അവളെ പറഞ്ഞയക്കേണമേ എന്നു അവനോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.

23. But Jesus did not speak a word to her. His followers kept asking, saying, 'Send her away for she keeps calling us.'

24. അതിന്നു അവന് “യിസ്രായേല് ഗൃഹത്തിലെ കാണാതെപോയ ആടുകളുടെ അടുക്കലേക്കല്ലാതെ എന്നെ അയച്ചിട്ടില്ല” എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

24. He said, 'I was sent only to the Jewish people who are lost.'

25. എന്നാല് അവള് വന്നുകര്ത്താവേ, എന്നെ സഹായിക്കേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവനെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു.
യോശുവ 5:14-15

25. Then she came and got down before Jesus and worshiped Him. She said, 'Lord, help me!'

26. അവനോ“മക്കളുടെ അപ്പം എടുത്തു നായകൂട്ടികള്ക്കു ഇട്ടുകൊടുക്കുന്നതു നന്നല്ല” എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

26. But He said, 'It is not right to take children's food and throw it to the dogs.'

27. അതിന്നു അവള്അതേ, കര്ത്താവേ, നായക്കുട്ടികളും ഉടയവരുടെ മേശയില് നിന്നു വീഴുന്ന നുറുക്കുകള് തിന്നുന്നുണ്ടല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

27. She said, 'Yes, Lord, but even the dogs eat the pieces that fall from the table of their owners.'

28. യേശു അവളോടു“സ്ത്രീയേ, നിന്റെ വിശ്വാസം വലിയതു; നിന്റെ ഇഷ്ടംപോലെ നിനക്കു ഭവിക്കട്ടെ” എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു. ആ നാഴികമുതല് അവളുടെ മകള്ക്കു സൌഖ്യം വന്നു.

28. Jesus said to her, 'Woman, you have much faith. You will have what you asked for.' Her daughter was healed at that very time.

29. യേശു അവിടെ നിന്നു യാത്രയായി ഗലീലക്കടലരികെ ചെന്നു മലയില് കയറി അവിടെ ഇരുന്നു.

29. Jesus went from there and came to the Sea of Galilee. Then He went up the mountain and sat down.

30. വളരെ പുരുഷാരം മുടന്തര്, കുരുടര്, ഊമര്, കൂനര് മുതലായ പലരെയും അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു അവന്റെ കാല്ക്കല് വെച്ചു; അവന് അവരെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കി;

30. Many people came to Him. They brought with them those who were not able to walk. They brought those who were not able to see. They brought those who were not able to hear or speak and many others. Then they put them at the feet of Jesus and He healed them.

31. ഊമര് സംസാരിക്കുന്നതും കൂനര് സൌഖ്യമാകുന്നതും മുടന്തര് നടക്കുന്നതും കുരുടര് കാണുന്നതും പുരുഷാരം കണ്ടിട്ടു ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു, യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവത്തെ മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തി.
യെശയ്യാ 52:14

31. All the people wondered. They saw how those who could not speak were now talking. They saw how those who could not walk were now walking. They saw how those who could not see were now seeing, and they gave thanks to the God of the Jews.

32. എന്നാല് യേശു തന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ അടുക്കെവിളിച്ചു“ഈ പുരുഷാരം ഇപ്പോള് മൂന്നു നാളായി എന്നോടുകൂടെ പാര്ക്കുംന്നു; അവര്ക്കും ഭക്ഷിപ്പാന് ഒന്നും ഇല്ലായ്കകൊണ്ടു അവരെക്കുറിച്ചു എനിക്കു മനസ്സലിവു തോന്നുന്നു; അവരെ പട്ടിണിയായി വിട്ടയപ്പാന് മനസ്സുമില്ല; അവര് വഴിയില്വെച്ചു തളര്ന്നുപോയേക്കും” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

32. Then Jesus called His followers to Him. He said, 'I pity these people because they have been with Me three days and they have no food. I do not want to send them home without food. They might get too weak as they go.'

33. ശിഷ്യന്മാര് അവനോടുഇത്ര വലിയ പുരുഷാരത്തിന്നു തൃപ്തിവരുത്തുവാന് മതിയായ അപ്പം ഈ കാട്ടില് നമുക്കു എവിടെ നിന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

33. The followers said to Jesus, 'Where can we get enough bread to feed them all in this desert?'

34. “നിങ്ങളുടെ പക്കല് എത്ര അപ്പം ഉണ്ടു” എന്നു യേശു ചോദിച്ചു; ഏഴു; കുറെ ചെറുമീനും ഉണ്ടു എന്നു അവര് പറഞ്ഞു.

34. Jesus said to them, 'How many loaves of bread do you have?' They said, 'Seven loaves and a few small fish.'

35. അവന് പുരുഷാരത്തോടു നിലത്തു ഇരിപ്പാന് കല്പിച്ചു,

35. He told the people to sit down on the ground.

36. ആ ഏഴു അപ്പവും മീനും എടുത്തു വാഴ്ത്തി നുറുക്കി ശിഷ്യന്മാരുടെ പക്കലും ശിഷ്യന്മാര് പുരുഷാരത്തിന്നും കൊടുത്തു.

36. Then He took the seven loaves of bread and the fish and gave thanks. He broke them and gave them to His followers. The followers gave them to the people.

37. എല്ലാവരും തിന്നു തൃപ്തരായി; ശേഷിച്ച കഷണം അവര് ഏഴു വട്ടി നിറെച്ചെടുത്തു.

37. They all ate and were filled. They picked up seven baskets full of pieces of bread and fish after the people finished eating.

38. തിന്നവരോ സ്ത്രീകളെയും പൈതങ്ങളെയും കൂടാതെ നാലായിരം പുരുഷന്മാര് ആയിരുന്നു.

38. Four thousand men ate. Women and children ate also.

39. പിന്നെ പുരുഷാരത്തെ പറഞ്ഞയച്ചിട്ടു പടകില് കയറി മഗദാദേശത്തു എത്തി.

39. After this Jesus sent the people away. Then He got into a boat and came to a place called Magadan.
