1. ശബ്ബത്തു കഴിഞ്ഞു ആഴ്ചവട്ടത്തിന്റെ ഒന്നാം ദിവസം വെളുക്കുമ്പോള് മഗ്ദലക്കാരത്തി മറിയയും മറ്റെ മറിയയും കല്ലറ കാണ്മാന് ചെന്നു.

1. After the Sabbath, and towards dawn on the first day of the week, Mary of Magdala and the other Mary went to visit the sepulchre.

2. പെട്ടെന്നു വലിയോരു ഭൂകമ്പം ഉണ്ടായി; കര്ത്താവിന്റെ ദൂതന് സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില് നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവന്നു, കല്ലു ഉരുട്ടിനീക്കി അതിന്മേല് ഇരുന്നിരുന്നു.

2. And suddenly there was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord, descending from heaven, came and rolled away the stone and sat on it.

3. അവന്റെ രൂപം മിന്നലിന്നു ഒത്തതും അവന്റെ ഉടുപ്പു ഹിമം പോലെ വെളുത്തതും ആയിരുന്നു.

3. His face was like lightning, his robe white as snow.

4. കാവല്ക്കാര് അവനെ കണ്ടു പേടിച്ചു വിറെച്ചു മരിച്ചവരെപ്പോലെ ആയി.

4. The guards were so shaken by fear of him that they were like dead men.

5. ദൂതന് സ്ത്രീകളോടുഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ; ക്രൂശിക്കപ്പെട്ട യേശുവിനെ നിങ്ങള് അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഞാന് അറിയുന്നു;

5. But the angel spoke; and he said to the women, 'There is no need for you to be afraid. I know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.

6. അവന് ഇവിടെ ഇല്ല; താന് പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റു; അവന് കിടന്ന സ്ഥലം വന്നുകാണ്മിന്

6. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said he would. Come and see the place where he lay,

7. അവന് മരിച്ചവരുടെ ഇടയില്നിന്നു ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റു എന്നു വേഗം ചെന്നു അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു പറവിന് ; അവന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു മുമ്പെ ഗലീലെക്കു പോകുന്നു; അവിടെ നിങ്ങള് അവനെ കാണും; ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

7. then go quickly and tell his disciples, 'He has risen from the dead and now he is going ahead of you to Galilee; that is where you will see him.' Look! I have told you.'

8. അങ്ങനെ അവര് വേഗത്തില് ഭയത്തോടും മഹാസന്തോഷത്തോടും കൂടി കല്ലറ വിട്ടു അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു അറിയിപ്പാന് ഔടിപ്പോയി. എന്നാല് യേശു അവരെ എതിരെറ്റു

8. Filled with awe and great joy the women came quickly away from the tomb and ran to tell his disciples.

9. “നിങ്ങള്ക്കു വന്ദനം” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അവര് അടുത്തുചെന്നു അവന്റെ കാല് പിടിച്ചു അവനെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു.

9. And suddenly, coming to meet them, was Jesus. 'Greetings,' he said. And the women came up to him and, clasping his feet, they did him homage.

10. യേശു അവരോടു“ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ട; നിങ്ങള് പോയി എന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരോടു ഗലീലെക്കു പോകുവാന് പറവിന് ; അവിടെ അവര് എന്നെ കാണും” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

10. Then Jesus said to them, 'Do not be afraid; go and tell my brothers that they must leave for Galilee; there they will see me.'

11. അവര് പോകുമ്പോള് കാവല്ക്കൂട്ടത്തില് ചിലര് നഗരത്തില് ചെന്നു സംഭവിച്ചതു എല്ലാം മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരോടു അറിയിച്ചു.

11. Now while they were on their way, some of the guards went off into the city to tell the chief priests all that had happened.

12. അവര് ഒന്നിച്ചുകൂടി മൂപ്പന്മാരുമായി ആലോചനകഴിച്ചിട്ടു പടയാളികള്ക്കു വേണ്ടുവോളം പണം കൊടുത്തു;

12. These held a meeting with the elders and, after some discussion, handed a considerable sum of money to the soldiers

13. അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര് രാത്രിയില് വന്നു ഞങ്ങള് ഉറങ്ങുമ്പോള് അവനെ കട്ടുകൊണ്ടുപോയി എന്നു പറവിന് .

13. with these instructions, 'This is what you must say, 'His disciples came during the night and stole him away while we were asleep.'

14. വസ്തുത നാടുവാഴിയുടെ സന്നിധാനത്തില് എത്തി എങ്കിലോ ഞങ്ങള് അവനെ സമ്മതിപ്പിച്ചു നിങ്ങളെ നിര്ഭയരാക്കിക്കൊള്ളാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

14. And should the governor come to hear of this, we undertake to put things right with him ourselves and to see that you do not get into trouble.'

15. അവര് പണം വാങ്ങി ഉപദേശപ്രകാരം ചെയ്തു; ഈ കഥ ഇന്നുവരെ യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ ഇടയില് പരക്കെ നടപ്പായിരിക്കുന്നു.

15. So they took the money and carried out their instructions, and to this day that is the story among the Jews.

16. എന്നാല് പതിനൊന്നു ശിഷ്യന്മാര് ഗലീലയില് യേശു അവരോടു കല്പിച്ചിരുന്ന മലെക്കു പോയി.

16. Meanwhile the eleven disciples set out for Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had arranged to meet them.

17. അവനെ കണ്ടപ്പോള് അവര് നമസ്കരിച്ചു; ചിലരോ സംശയിച്ചു.

17. When they saw him they fell down before him, though some hesitated.

18. യേശു അടുത്തുചെന്നു“സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തിലും ഭൂമിയിലും സകല അധികാരവും എനിക്കു നല്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.
ദാനീയേൽ 7:14

18. Jesus came up and spoke to them. He said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.

19. ആകയാല് നിങ്ങള് പുറപ്പെട്ടു, പിതാവിന്റെയും പുത്രന്റെയും പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിന്റെയും നാമത്തില് സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിച്ചും ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു കല്പിച്ചതു ഒക്കെയും പ്രമാണിപ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം ഉപദേശിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു” സകലജാതികളെയും ശിഷ്യരാക്കിക്കൊള്വിന് ; ഞാനോ ലോകാവസാനത്തോളം എല്ലാനാളും നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടു എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

19. Go, therefore, make disciples of all nations; baptise them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
