1. “മനുഷ്യര് കാണേണ്ടതിന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ നീതിയെ അവരുടെ മുമ്പില് ചെയ്യാതിരിപ്പാന് സൂക്ഷിപ്പിന് ; അല്ലാഞ്ഞാല് സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തിലുള്ള നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവിന്റെ പക്കല് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു പ്രതിഫലമില്ല.

1. Take heede that ye giue not your almes before men, to be seene of them, or els ye shall haue no reward of your Father which is in heaue.

2. ആകയാല് ഭിക്ഷകൊടുക്കുമ്പോള് മനുഷ്യരാല് മാനം ലഭിപ്പാന് പള്ളികളിലും വീഥികളിലും കപടഭക്തിക്കാര് ചെയ്യുന്നതുപോലെ നിന്റെ മുമ്പില് കാഹളം ഊതിക്കരുതു; അവര്ക്കും പ്രതിഫലം കിട്ടിപ്പോയി എന്നു ഞാന് സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു

2. Therefore when thou giuest thine almes, thou shalt not make a trumpet to be blowen before thee, as the hypocrites doe in the Synagogues and in the streetes, to be praysed of men. Verely I say vnto you, they haue their rewarde.

3. നീയോ ഭിക്ഷകൊടുക്കുമ്പോള് നിന്റെ ഭിക്ഷ രഹസ്യത്തിലായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു വലങ്കൈ ചെയ്യുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു ഇടങ്കൈ അറിയരുതു.

3. But when thou doest thine almes, let not thy left hand knowe what thy right hand doeth,

4. രഹസ്യത്തില് കാണുന്ന നിന്റെ പിതാവു നിനക്കു പ്രതിഫലം തരും.

4. That thine almes may be in secret, and thy Father that seeth in secret, hee will rewarde thee openly.

5. നിങ്ങള് പ്രാര്ത്ഥിക്കുമ്പോള് കപടഭക്തിക്കാരെപ്പോലെ ആകരുതു; അവര് മനുഷ്യര്ക്കും വിളങ്ങേണ്ടതിന്നു പള്ളികളിലും തെരുക്കോണുകളിലും നിന്നുകൊണ്ടു പ്രാര്ത്ഥിപ്പാന് ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്നു; അവര്ക്കും പ്രതിഫലം കിട്ടിപ്പോയി എന്നു ഞാന് സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

5. And when thou prayest, be not as the hypocrites: for they loue to stand, and pray in the Synagogues, and in the corners of the streetes, because they would be seene of men. Verely I say vnto you, they haue their rewarde.

6. നീയോ പ്രാര്ത്ഥിക്കുമ്പോള് അറയില് കടന്നു വാതില് അടെച്ചു രഹസ്യത്തിലുള്ള നിന്റെ പിതാവിനോടു പ്രാര്ത്ഥിക്ക; രഹസ്യത്തില് കാണുന്ന നിന്റെ പിതാവു നിനക്കു പ്രതിഫലം തരും.

6. But when thou prayest, enter into thy chamber and when thou hast shut thy doore, pray vnto thy Father which is in secret, and thy Father which seeth in secret, shall rewarde thee openly.

7. പ്രാര്ത്ഥിക്കയില് നിങ്ങള് ജാതികളെപ്പോലെ ജല്പനം ചെയ്രുതു; അതിഭാഷണത്താല് ഉത്തരം കിട്ടും എന്നല്ലോ അവര്ക്കും തോന്നുന്നതു.

7. Also when ye pray, vse no vaine repetitions as the Heathen: for they thinke to be heard for their much babbling.

8. അവരോടു തുല്യരാകരുതു; നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ആവശ്യമുള്ളതു ഇന്നതെന്നു നിങ്ങള് യാചിക്കുംമുമ്പെ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവു അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

8. Be ye not like them therefore: for your Father knoweth whereof ye haue neede, before ye aske of him.

9. നിങ്ങള് ഈവണ്ണം പ്രാര്ത്ഥിപ്പിന് സ്വര്ഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവേ, നിന്റെ നാമം വിശുദ്ധീകരിക്കപ്പെടേണമേ;

9. After this maner therefore pray ye, Our father which art in heauen, halowed be thy name.

10. നിന്റെ രാജ്യം വരേണമേ; നിന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തിലെപ്പോലെ ഭൂമിയിലും ആകേണമേ;

10. Thy Kingdome come. Thy will be done euen in earth, as it is in heauen.

11. ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു ആവശ്യമുള്ള ആഹാരം ഇന്നു തരേണമേ;

11. Giue vs this day our dayly bread.

12. ഞങ്ങളുടെ കടക്കാരോടു ഞങ്ങള് ക്ഷിമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ഞങ്ങളുടെ കടങ്ങളെ ഞങ്ങളോടും ക്ഷമിക്കേണമേ;

12. And forgiue vs our dettes, as we also forgiue our detters.

13. ഞങ്ങളെ പരീക്ഷയില് കടത്താതെ ദുഷ്ടങ്കല്നിന്നു ഞങ്ങളെ വിടുവിക്കേണമേ. രാജ്യവും ശക്തിയും മഹത്വവും എന്നേക്കും നിനക്കുള്ളതല്ലോ.

13. And leade vs not into tentation, but deliuer vs from euill: for thine is the kingdome, and the power, and the glorie for euer. Amen.

14. നിങ്ങള് മനുഷ്യരോടു അവരുടെ പിഴകളെ ക്ഷമിച്ചാല്, സ്വര്ഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവു നിങ്ങളോടും ക്ഷമിക്കും.

14. For if ye doe forgiue men their trespasses, your heauenly Father will also forgiue you.

15. നിങ്ങള് മനുഷ്യരോടു പിഴകളെ ക്ഷമിക്കാഞ്ഞാലോ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവു നിങ്ങളുടെ പിഴകളെയും ക്ഷമിക്കയില്ല.

15. But if ye do not forgiue men their trespasses,, no more will your father forgiue you your trespaces.

16. ഉപവസിക്കുമ്പോള് നിങ്ങള് കപടഭക്തിക്കാരെപ്പോലെ വാടിയ മുഖം കാണിക്കരുതു; അവര് ഉപവസിക്കുന്നതു മനുഷ്യര്ക്കും വിളങ്ങേണ്ടതിന്നു മുഖം വിരൂപമാക്കുന്നു; അവര്ക്കും പ്രതിഫലം കിട്ടിപ്പോയി എന്നു ഞാന് സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

16. Moreouer, when ye fast, looke not sowre as the hypocrites: for they disfigure their faces, that they might seeme vnto men to fast. Verely I say vnto you, that they haue their rewarde.

17. നീയോ ഉപവസിക്കുമ്പോള് നിന്റെ ഉപവാസം മനുഷ്യര്ക്കല്ല രഹസ്യത്തിലുള്ള നിന്റെ പിതാവിന്നു വിളങ്ങേണ്ടതിന്നു തലയില് എണ്ണ തേച്ചു മുഖം കഴുകുക.

17. But when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face,

18. രഹസ്യത്തില് കാണുന്ന നിന്റെ പിതാവു നിനക്കു പ്രതിഫലം നലകും.

18. That thou seeme not vnto men to fast, but vnto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret, will rewarde thee openly.

19. പുഴുവും തുരുമ്പും കെടുക്കയും കള്ളന്മാര് തുരന്നു മോഷ്ടിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്ന ഈ ഭൂമിയില് നിങ്ങള് നിക്ഷേപം സ്വരൂപിക്കരുതു.

19. Lay not vp treasures for your selues vpon the earth, where the mothe and canker corrupt, and where theeues digge through and steale.

20. പുഴുവും തുരുമ്പും കെടുക്കാതെയും കള്ളന്മാര് തുരന്നു മോഷ്ടിക്കാതെയുമിരിക്കുന്ന സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില് നിക്ഷേപം സ്വരൂപിച്ചുകൊള്വിന് .

20. But lay vp treasures for your selues in heauen, where neither the mothe nor canker corrupteth, and where theeues neither digge through, nor steale.

21. നിന്റെ നിക്ഷേപം ഉള്ളേടത്തു നിന്റെ ഹൃദയവും ഇരിക്കും.

21. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

22. ശരീരത്തിന്റെ വിളകൂ കണ്ണു ആകുന്നു; കണ്ണു ചൊവ്വുള്ളതെങ്കില് നിന്റെ ശരീരം മുഴുവനും പ്രകാശിതമായിരിക്കും.

22. The light of the body is the eye: if then thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be light.

23. കണ്ണു കേടുള്ളതെങ്കിലോ നിന്റെ ശരീരം മുഴുവനും ഇരുണ്ടതായിരിക്കും; എന്നാല് നിന്നിലുള്ള വെളിച്ചം ഇരുട്ടായാല് ഇരുട്ടു എത്ര വലിയതു!

23. But if thine eye be wicked, then all thy body shalbe darke. Wherefore if the light that is in thee, be darkenes, howe great is that darkenesse?

24. രണ്ടു യജമാനന്മാരെ സേവിപ്പാന് ആര്ക്കുംകഴികയില്ല; അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്താല് ഒരുത്തനെ പകെച്ചു മറ്റവനെ സ്നേഹിക്കും; അല്ലെങ്കില് ഒരുത്തനോടു പറ്റിച്ചേര്ന്നു മറ്റവനെ നിരസിക്കും; നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ദൈവത്തെയും മാമോനെയും സേവിപ്പാന് കഴികയില്ല.

24. No man can serue two masters: for eyther he shall hate the one, and loue the other, or els he shall leane to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serue God and riches.

25. അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നതുഎന്തു തിന്നും എന്തു കുടിക്കും എന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ ജീവന്നായിക്കൊണ്ടും എന്തു ഉടുക്കും എന്നു ശരീരത്തിന്നായിക്കൊണ്ടും വിചാരപ്പെടരുതു; ആഹാരത്തെക്കാള് ജീവനും ഉടുപ്പിനെക്കാള് ശരീരവും വലുതല്ലേയോ?

25. Therefore I say vnto you, be not carefull for your life, what ye shall eate, or what ye shall drinke: nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more worth then meate? and the bodie then raiment?

26. ആകാശത്തിലെ പറവകളെ നോക്കുവിന് ; അവ വിതെക്കുന്നില്ല, കൊയ്യുന്നില്ല, കളപ്പുരയില് കൂട്ടിവെക്കുന്നതുമില്ല എങ്കിലും സ്വര്ഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവു അവയെ പുലര്ത്തുന്നു; അവയെക്കാള് നിങ്ങള് ഏറ്റവും വിശേഷതയുള്ളവരല്ലയോ ?

26. Behold the foules of the heauen: for they sowe not, neither reape, nor carie into the barnes: yet your heauenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better then they?

27. വിചാരപ്പെടുന്നതിനാല് തന്റെ നീളത്തോടു ഒരു മുഴം കൂട്ടുവാന് നിങ്ങളില് ആര്ക്കും കഴിയും?

27. Which of you by taking care is able to adde one cubite vnto his stature?

28. ഉടുപ്പിനെക്കുറിച്ചു വിചാരപ്പെടുന്നതും എന്തു? വയലിലെ താമര എങ്ങനെ വളരുന്നു എന്നു നിരൂപിപ്പിന് ; അവ അദ്ധ്വാനിക്കുന്നില്ല, നൂലക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.

28. And why care ye for raiment? Learne howe the lilies of the fielde doe growe: they are not wearied, neither spinne:

29. എന്നാല് ശലോമോന് പോലും തന്റെ സര്വ്വ മഹത്വത്തിലും ഇവയില് ഒന്നിനോളം ചമഞ്ഞിരുന്നില്ല എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

29. Yet I say vnto you, that euen Salomon in all his glorie was not arayed like one of these.

30. ഇന്നുള്ളതും നാളെ അടുപ്പില് ഇടുന്നതുമായ വയലിലെ പുല്ലിനെ ദൈവം ഇങ്ങനെ ചമയിക്കുന്നു എങ്കില്, അല്പവിശ്വാസികളേ, നിങ്ങളെ എത്ര അധികം.

30. Wherefore if God so clothe the grasse of the fielde which is to day, and to morowe is cast into the ouen, shall he not doe much more vnto you, O ye of litle faith?

31. ആകയാല് നാം എന്തു തിന്നും എന്തു കുടിക്കും എന്തു ഉടുക്കും എന്നിങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങള് വിചാരപ്പെടരുതു.

31. Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eate? or what shall we drinke? or where with shall we be clothed?

32. ഈ വക ഒക്കെയും ജാതികള് അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു; സ്വര്ഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവു ഇതൊക്കെയും നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ആവശ്യം എന്നു അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

32. (For after all these things seeke the Gentiles) for your heauenly Father knoweth, that ye haue neede of all these things.

33. മുമ്പെ അവന്റെ രാജ്യവും നീതിയും അന്വേഷിപ്പിന് ; അതോടുകൂടെ ഇതൊക്കെയും നിങ്ങള്ക്കു കിട്ടും.

33. But seeke ye first the kingdome of God, and his righteousnesse, and all these things shall be ministred vnto you.

34. അതുകൊണ്ടു നാളെക്കായി വിചാരപ്പെടരുതു; നാളത്തെ ദിവസം തനിക്കായി വിചാരപ്പെടുമല്ലോ; അതതു ദിവസത്തിന്നു അന്നന്നത്തെ ദോഷം മതി ”

34. Care not then for the morowe: for the morowe shall care for it selfe: the day hath ynough with his owne griefe.
