1. അനന്തരം അവര് എല്ലാവരും കൂട്ടമേ എഴുന്നേറ്റു അവനെ പീലാത്തൊസിന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുപോയി

1. And the whole multitude of them arose and ledde him vnto Pylate.

2. ഇവന് ഞങ്ങളുടെ ജാതിയെ മറിച്ചുകളകയും താന് ക്രിസ്തു എന്ന രാജാവാകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടു കൈസര്ക്കും കരം കൊടുക്കുന്നതു വിരോധിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നതായി ഞങ്ങള് കണ്ടു എന്നു കുറ്റം ചുമത്തിത്തുടങ്ങി.

2. And they beganne to accuse him sayinge: We have founde this felowe pervertynge the people and forbiddynge to paye tribute to Cesar: sayinge that he is Christ a kynge.

3. പീലാത്തൊസ് അവനോടുനീ യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ രാജാവൊ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നുഞാന് ആകുന്നു എന്നു അവനോടു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

3. And Pylate apposed him sayinge: arte thou the kynge of the iewes? He answered him and sayde: thou sayest it.

4. പീലാത്തൊസ് മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരോടും പുരുഷാരത്തോടുംഞാന് ഈ മനുഷ്യനില് കുറ്റം ഒന്നും കാണുന്നില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

4. Then sayde Pylate to the hye prestes and to the people: I fynde noo faute in this man.

5. അതിന്നു അവര്അവന് ഗലീലയില് തുടങ്ങി യെഹൂദ്യയില് എങ്ങും ഇവിടത്തോളവും പഠിപ്പിച്ചു ജനത്തെ കലഹിപ്പിക്കുന്നു എന്നു നിഷ്കര്ഷിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

5. And they were the moore fearce sayinge. He moveth the people teachynge thorowout all Iewry and beganne at Galile even to this place.

6. ഇതു കേട്ടിട്ടു ഈ മനുഷ്യന് ഗലീലക്കാരനോ എന്നു പീലാത്തൊസ് ചോദിച്ചു;

6. When Pilate hearde mencion of Galile he axed whether the ma were of Galile.

7. ഹെരോദാവിന്റെ അധികാരത്തില് ഉള്പ്പെട്ടവന് എന്നറിഞ്ഞിട്ടു, അന്നു യെരൂശലേമില് വന്നു പാര്ക്കുംന്ന ഹെരോദാവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് അവനെ അയച്ചു.

7. And assone as he knewe that he was of Herodes iurisdiccion he sent him to Herode which was also at Ierusalem in those dayes.

8. ഹെരോദാവു യേശുവിനെ കണ്ടിട്ടു അത്യന്തം സന്തോഷിച്ചു; അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു കേട്ടിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അവനെ കാണ്മാന് വളരെക്കാലമായി ഇച്ഛിച്ചു, അവന് വല്ല അടയാളവും ചെയ്യുന്നതു കാണാം എന്നു ആശിച്ചിരുന്നു.

8. And when Herode sawe Iesus he was excedinglie gladde. For he was desyrous to se him of a longe season because he had hearde many thinges of him and trusted to have sene some myracle done by him.

9. ഏറിയോന്നു ചോദിച്ചിട്ടും അവന് അവനോടു ഉത്തരം ഒന്നും പറഞ്ഞില്ല.

9. Then questeoned he with him of many thinges. But he answered him not one worde.

10. മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും കഠിനമായി അവനെ കുറ്റം ചുമത്തിക്കൊണ്ടു നിന്നു.

10. The hye prestes and scribes stode forthe and accused him straytly.

11. ഹെരോദാവു തന്റെ പടയാളികളുമായി അവനെ പരിഹസിച്ചു നിസ്സാരനാക്കി ശുഭ്രവസ്ത്രം ധരിപ്പിച്ചു പീലാത്തൊസിന്റെ അടുക്കല് മടക്കി അയച്ചു.

11. And Herod wt his men of warre despysed him and mocked him and arayed him in whyte and sent him agayne to Pylate.

12. അന്നു ഹെരോദാവും പീലാത്തൊസും തമ്മില് സ്നേഹിതന്മാരായിത്തീര്ന്നു; മുമ്പെ അവര് തമ്മില് വൈരമായിരുന്നു.

12. And the same daye Pylate and Herod were made frendes togeder. For before they were at variaunce.

13. പീലാത്തൊസ് മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരെയും പ്രമാണികളെയും ജനത്തെയും വിളിച്ചു കൂട്ടി.

13. And Pylate called to geder the hye prestes and the rulers and the people

14. അവരോടുഈ മനുഷ്യന് ജനത്തെ മത്സരിപ്പിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു നിങ്ങള് അവനെ എന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവന്നുവല്ലോ; ഞാനോ നിങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പാകെ വിസ്തരിച്ചിട്ടും നിങ്ങള് ചുമത്തിയ കുറ്റം ഒന്നും ഇവനില് കണ്ടില്ല;

14. and sayde vnto them: Ye have brought this man vnto me as one that perverted the people. And beholde I have examined him before you and have founde no faute in this man of those thinges where of ye accuse him.

15. ഹെരോദാവും കണ്ടില്ല; അവന് അവനെ നമ്മുടെ അടുക്കല് മടക്കി അയച്ചുവല്ലോ; ഇവന് മരണയോഗ്യമായതു ഒന്നും പ്രവര്ത്തിച്ചിട്ടില്ല സ്പഷ്ടം;

15. No nor yet Herode. For I sent you to him: and lo no thinge worthy of deeth is done to him.

16. അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് അവനെ അടിപ്പിച്ചു വിട്ടയക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

16. I will therfore chasten him and let him lowsse.

17. ഇവനെ നീക്കിക്കളക; ബറബ്ബാസിനെ വിട്ടു തരിക എന്നു എല്ലാവരുംകൂടെ നിലവിളിച്ചു,

17. For of necessite he must have let one lowse vnto them at that feast.

18. (ഉത്സവന്തോറും ഒരുത്തനെ വിട്ടുകൊടുക്ക പതിവായിരുന്നു)

18. And all the people cryed at once sayinge: awaye with him and delyvre to vs Barrabas:

19. അവനോ നഗരത്തില് ഉണ്ടായ ഒരു കലഹവും കുലയും ഹേതുവായി തടവിലായവന് ആയിരുന്നു.

19. which for insurrccion made in the cite and morther was cast into preson.

20. പീലാത്തൊസ് യേശുവിനെ വിടുവിപ്പാന് ഇച്ഛിച്ചിട്ടു പിന്നെയും അവരോടു വിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

20. Pylate spake agayne to them willynge to let Iesus lowse.

21. അവരോഅവനെ ക്രൂശിക്ക, ക്രൂശിക്ക എന്നു എതിരെ നിലവിളിച്ചു.

21. And they cryed sayinge: Crucify him Crucify him

22. അവന് മൂന്നാമതും അവരോടുഅവന് ചെയ്ത ദോഷം എന്തു? മരണയോഗ്യമായതു ഒന്നും അവനില് കണ്ടില്ല; അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് അവനെ അടിപ്പിച്ചു വിട്ടയക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

22. He sayde vnto them the thyrde tyme. What evyll hath he done? I fynde no cause of deeth in him. I will therfore chasten him and let him lowse.

23. അവരോ അവനെ ക്രൂശിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഉറക്കെ മുട്ടിച്ചു ചോദിച്ചു; അവരുടെ നിലവിളി ഫലിച്ചു;

23. And they cryed with loude voyce and required that he myght be crucifyed. And the voyce of them and of the hye Prestes prevayled.

24. അവരുടെ അപേക്ഷപോലെ ആകട്ടെ എന്നു പീലാത്തൊസ് വിധിച്ചു.

24. And Pylate gave sentence that it shuld be as they required

25. കലഹവും കുലയും ഹേതുവായി തടവിലായവനെ അവരുടെ അപേക്ഷപോലെ വിട്ടുകൊടുക്കയും യേശുവിനെ അവരുടെ ഇഷ്ടത്തിന്നു ഏല്പിക്കയും ചെയ്തു.

25. and let lowse vnto them him that for insurreccion and morther was cast into preson whom they desyred: and delyvered Iesus to do with him what they wolde.

26. അവനെ കൊണ്ടുപോകുമ്പോള് വയലില് നിന്നു വരുന്ന ശിമോന് എന്ന ഒരു കുറേനക്കാരനെ അവര് പിടിച്ചു ക്രൂശ് ചുമപ്പിച്ചു യേശുവിന്റെ പിന്നാലെ നടക്കുമാറാക്കി.

26. And as they ledde him awaye they caught one Symon of Syrene commynge out of the felde: and on him layde they the crosse to beare it after Iesus.

27. ഒരു വലിയ ജനസമൂഹവും അവനെച്ചൊല്ലി വിലപിച്ചു മുറയിടുന്ന അനേകം സ്ത്രീകളും അവന്റെ പിന്നാലെ ചെന്നു.

27. And ther folowed him a greate company of people and of wemen which weme bewayled and lamented him.

28. യേശു തിരിഞ്ഞു അവരെ നോക്കിയെരൂശലേംപുത്രിമാരേ, എന്നെച്ചൊല്ലി കരയേണ്ടാ, നിങ്ങളെയും നിങ്ങളുടെ മക്കളെയും ചൊല്ലി കരവിന് .

28. But Iesus turned backe vnto them and sayde: Doughters of Ierusalem wepe not for me: but wepe for youre selves and for youre chyldren.

29. മച്ചികളും പ്രസവിക്കാത്ത ഉദരങ്ങളും കുടിപ്പിക്കാത്ത മുലകളും ഭാഗ്യമുള്ളവ എന്നു പറയുന്ന കാലം വരുന്നു.

29. For beholde the dayes will come when men shall saye: happy are the baren and the wombes that never bare and the pappes which never gave sucke.

30. അന്നു മലകളോടുഞങ്ങളുടെ മേല് വീഴുവിന് എന്നും കുന്നുകളോടുഞങ്ങളെ മൂടുവിന് എന്നും പറഞ്ഞു തുടങ്ങും.

30. Then shall they beginne to saye to the mountaynes fall on vs: and to the hilles cover vs.

31. പച്ചമരത്തോടു ഇങ്ങനെ ചെയ്താല് ഉണങ്ങിയതിന്നു എന്തു ഭവിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

31. For yf they do this to a grene tree what shalbe done to the drye?

32. ദുഷ്പ്രവൃത്തിക്കാരായ വേറെ രണ്ടുപേരെയും അവനോടുകൂടെ കൊല്ലേണ്ടതിന്നു കൊണ്ടുപോയി.

32. And ther were two evyll doers ledde with him to be slayne.

33. തലയോടിടം എന്ന സ്ഥലത്തു എത്തിയപ്പോള് അവര് അവിടെ അവനെയും ദുഷ്പ്രവൃത്തിക്കാരെയും, ഒരുത്തനെ വലത്തും ഒരുത്തനെ ഇടത്തുമായി, ക്രൂശിച്ചു.
യെശയ്യാ 53:12

33. And when they were come to the place which is called Calvary there they crucified him and the evyll doers one on ryght honde and the other on the lefte.

34. എന്നാല് യേശുപിതാവേ, ഇവര് ചെയ്യുന്നതു ഇന്നതു എന്നു അറിയായ്കകൊണ്ടു ഇവരോടു ക്ഷമിക്കേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അനന്തരം അവര് അവന്റെ വസ്ത്രം വിഭാഗിച്ചു ചീട്ടിട്ടു.

34. Then sayde Iesus: father forgeve them for they woot not what they do. And they parted his rayment and cast loottes.

35. ജനം നോക്കിക്കൊണ്ടു നിന്നു. ഇവന് മറുള്ളവരെ രക്ഷിച്ചുവല്ലോ; ദൈവം തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത ക്രിസ്തു എങ്കില് തന്നെത്താന് രക്ഷിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പ്രധാനികളും പരിഹസിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞു.

35. And the people stode and behelde. And the rulers mocked him with thee saying: he holpe other men let him helpe him selfe yf he be Christ the chosen of god.

37. നീ യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ രാജാവു എങ്കില് നിന്നെത്തന്നേ രക്ഷിക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

37. and sayde: yf thou be that kynge of ye Iewes save thy silfe.

38. ഇവന് യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ രാജാവു എന്നു ഒരു മേലെഴുത്തും അവന്റെ മീതെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

38. And his superscripcio was writte over him in greke in latine and Ebreu: This is the kynge of the Iewes.

39. തൂക്കിയ ദുഷ്പ്രവൃത്തിക്കാരില് ഒരുത്തന് നീ ക്രിസ്തു അല്ലയോ? നിന്നെത്തന്നേയും ഞങ്ങളെയും രക്ഷിക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവനെ ദുഷിച്ചു.

39. And one of the evyll doers which hanged rayled on him sayinge: If thou be Christ save thy selfe and vs.

40. മറ്റവനോ അവനെ ശാസിച്ചുസമശിക്ഷാവിധിയില് തന്നേ ആയിട്ടും നീ ദൈവത്തെ ഭയപ്പെടുന്നില്ലയോ?

40. The other answered and rebuked him sayinge. Net herfearest thou god because thou arte in the same damnacion?

41. നാമോ ന്യായമായിട്ടു ശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കുന്നു; നാം പ്രവര്ത്തിച്ചതിന്നു യോഗ്യമായതല്ലോ കിട്ടുന്നതു; ഇവനോ അരുതാത്തതു ഒന്നും ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

41. We are ryghteously punesshed for we receave accordynge to oure dedes: But this man hath done nothinge amysse.

42. പിന്നെ അവന് യേശുവേ, നീ രാജത്വം പ്രാപിച്ചു വരുമ്പോള് എന്നെ ഔര്ത്തുകൊള്ളേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

42. And he sayde vnto Iesus: Lorde remember me when thou comest into thy kyngdome.

43. യേശു അവനോടുഇന്നു നീ എന്നോടുകൂടെ പറുദീസയില് ഇരിക്കും എന്നു ഞാന് സത്യമായി നിന്നോടു പറയുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

43. And Iesus sayde vnto him: Verely I saye vnto the to daye shalt thou be with me in Paradyse.

44. ഏകദേശം ആറാം മണി നേരമായപ്പോള് സൂര്യന് ഇരുണ്ടുപോയിട്ടു ഒമ്പതാം മണിവരെ ദേശത്തു ഒക്കെയും അന്ധകാരം ഉണ്ടായി.

44. And it was about the sixt houre. And ther came a darcknes over all the londe vntyll ye nynth houre

45. and the sonne was darckened. And the vayle of the temple dyd rent even thorow the myddes.

46. യേശു അത്യുച്ചത്തില് പിതാവേ, ഞാന് എന്റെ ആത്മാവിനെ തൃക്കയ്യില് ഏല്പിക്കുന്നു എന്നു നിലവിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു; ഇതു പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു പ്രാണനെ വിട്ടു.

48. കാണ്മാന് കൂടി വന്ന പുരുഷാരം ഒക്കെയും സംഭവിച്ചതു കണ്ടിട്ടു മാറത്തടിച്ചു കൊണ്ടു മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി.

48. And all the people that came to geder to that sight beholdynge the thinges which were done: smoote their bestes and returned home.

49. അവന്റെ പരിചയക്കാര് എല്ലാവരും ഗലീലയില് നിന്നു അവനെ അനുഗമിച്ചസ്ത്രീകളും ഇതു നോക്കിക്കൊണ്ടു ദൂരത്തു നിന്നു.

49. And all his acquayntaunce and the wemen that folowed him from Galile stode a farre of beholdynge these thinges.

50. അരിമത്യ എന്നൊരു യെഹൂദ്യപട്ടണക്കാരനായി നല്ലവനും നീതിമാനും ദൈവരാജ്യത്തെ കാത്തിരുന്നവനുമായ യോസേഫ് എന്നൊരു മന്ത്രി —

50. And beholde ther was a man named Ioseph a councelloure and was a good man and a iuste

51. അവന് അവരുടെ ആലോചനെക്കും പ്രവൃത്തിക്കും അനുകൂലമല്ലായിരുന്നു —

51. and dyd not consent to the counsell and dede of them which was of Aramathia a cite of the Iewes: which same also wayted for ye kyngdome of God:

52. പീലാത്തൊസിന്റെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നു യേശുവിന്റെ ശരീരം ചോദിച്ചു,

52. he went vnto Pilate and begged the boddy of Iesus

53. അതു ഇറക്കി ഒരു ശീലയില് പൊതിഞ്ഞു പാറയില് വെട്ടിയിരുന്നതും ആരെയും ഒരിക്കലും വെച്ചിട്ടില്ലാത്തതുമായ കല്ലറയില് വെച്ചു. അന്നു ഒരുക്ക നാള് ആയിരുന്നു, ശബ്ബത്തും ആരംഭിച്ചു.

53. and toke it doune and wrapped it in a lynnen clooth and layed it in an hewen toumbe wherin was never man before layed.

54. ഗലീലയില് നിന്നു അവനോടുകൂടെ പോന്ന സ്ത്രീകളും പിന്നാലെ ചെന്നു കല്ലറയും അവന്റെ ശരീരം വെച്ച വിധവും കണ്ടിട്ടു

54. And that daye was ye Saboth even and the Saboth drue on.

55. മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി സുഗന്ധവര്ഗ്ഗവും പരിമളതൈലവും ഒരുക്കി; കല്പന അനുസരിച്ചു ശബ്ബത്തില് സ്വസ്ഥമായിരന്നു.

55. The wemen that folowed after which came with him from Galile behelde the sepulcre and how his body was layed.
