1. ആദിയില് വചനം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; വചനം ദൈവത്തോടുകൂടെ ആയിരുന്നു; വചനം ദൈവം ആയിരുന്നു.

2. The same was in the begynnynge wt God.

3. സകലവും അവന് മുഖാന്തരം ഉളവായി; ഉളവായത് ഒന്നും അവനെ കൂടാതെ ഉളവായതല്ല.

3. All thinges were made by the same, and without the same was made nothinge that was made.

4. അവനില് ജീവന് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; ജീവന് മനുഷ്യരുടെ വെളിച്ചമായിരുന്നു.

4. In him was the life, and the life was the light of men:

5. വെളിച്ചം ഇരുളില് പ്രകാശിക്കുന്നു; ഇരുളോ അതിനെ പിടിച്ചടക്കിയില്ല.

5. and the light shyneth in the darknesse, and the darknesse comprehended it not.

6. ദൈവം അയച്ചിട്ടു ഒരു മനുഷ്യന് വന്നു; അവന്നു യോഹന്നാന് എന്നു പേര്.

6. There was sent from God a man, whose name was Ihon.

7. അവന് സാക്ഷ്യത്തിന്നായി താന് മുഖാന്തരം എല്ലാവരും വിശ്വസിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു വെളിച്ചത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു സാക്ഷ്യം പറവാന് തന്നേ വന്നു.

7. The same came for a witnesse, to beare wytnesse of ye light, that thorow him they all might beleue.

8. അവന് വെളിച്ചം ആയിരുന്നില്ല; വെളിച്ചത്തിന്നു സാക്ഷ്യം പറയേണ്ടുന്നവനത്രേ.

8. He was not that light, but that he might beare witnesse of ye light.

9. ഏതു മനുഷ്യനെയും പ്രകാശിപ്പിക്കുന്ന സത്യവെളിച്ചം ലോകത്തിലേക്കു വന്നുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

9. That was the true light, which lighteth all men, that come in to this worlde.

10. അവന് ലോകത്തില് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; ലോകം അവന് മുഖാന്തരം ഉളവായി; ലോകമോ അവനെ അറിഞ്ഞില്ല.

10. He was in the worlde, & the worlde was made by him, and ye worlde knewe him not.

11. അവന് സ്വന്തത്തിലേക്കു വന്നു; സ്വന്തമായവരോ അവനെ കൈക്കൊണ്ടില്ല.

11. He came in to his awne, and his awne receaued him not.

12. അവനെ കൈക്കൊണ്ടു അവന്റെ നാമത്തില് വിശ്വസിക്കുന്ന ഏവര്ക്കും ദൈവമക്കള് ആകുവാന് അവന് അധികാരം കൊടുത്തു.

12. But as many as receaued him, to them gaue he power to be the children of God: euen soch as beleue in his name.

13. അവര് രക്തത്തില് നിന്നല്ല, ജഡത്തിന്റെ ഇഷ്ടത്താലല്ല, പുരുഷന്റെ ഇഷ്ടത്താലുമല്ല, ദൈവത്തില് നിന്നത്രേ ജനിച്ചതു.

13. Which are not borne of bloude, ner of the wyl of the flesh, ner of the wyl of man, but of God.

14. വചനം ജഡമായി തീര്ന്നു, കൃപയും സത്യവും നിറഞ്ഞവനായി നമ്മുടെ ഇടയില് പാര്ത്തു. ഞങ്ങള് അവന്റെ തേജസ്സ് പിതാവില് നിന്നു ഏകജാതനായവന്റെ തേജസ്സായി കണ്ടു.

14. And the worde became flesh, and dwelt amonge vs: and we sawe his glory, a glory as of the onely begotte sonne of the father, full of grace and trueth.

15. Ihon bare wytnesse of him, cryed, and sayde: It was this, of whom I spake: After me shal he come, that was before me, For he was or euer I:

16. അവന്റെ നിറവില് നിന്നു നമുക്കു എല്ലാവര്ക്കും കൃപമേല് കൃപ ലഭിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

16. and of his fulnesse haue all we receaued grace for grace.

17. ന്യായപ്രമാണം മോശെ മുഖാന്തരം ലഭിച്ചു; കൃപയും സത്യവും യേശുക്രിസ്തു മുഖാന്തരം വന്നു.

17. For the lawe was geuen by Moses, grace and trueth came by Iesus Christ.

18. ദൈവത്തെ ആരും ഒരുനാളും കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല; പിതാവിന്റെ മടിയില് ഇരിക്കുന്ന ഏകജാതനായ പുത്രന് അവനെ വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

18. No man hath sene God at eny tyme. The onely begotte sonne which is in the bosome of the father, he hath declared the same vnto vs.

19. നീ ആര് എന്നു യോഹന്നാനോടു ചോദിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു യെഹൂദന്മാര് യെരൂശലേമില് നിന്നു പുരോഹിതന്മാരെയും ലേവ്യരെയും അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് അയച്ചപ്പോള് അവന്റെ സാക്ഷ്യം എന്തെന്നാല്അവന് മറുക്കാതെ ഏറ്റുപറഞ്ഞു;

19. And this is the recorde of Ihon, whan the Iewes sent prestes and Leuites fro Ierusalem, to axe him: Who art thou?

20. ഞാന് ക്രിസ്തു അല്ല എന്നു ഏറ്റു പറഞ്ഞു.

20. And he confessed and denyed not. And he confessed, and sayde: I am not Christ.

21. പിന്നെ എന്തു? നീ ഏലീയാവോ എന്നു അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നുഅല്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. നീ ആ പ്രവാചകനോ? എന്നതിന്നുഅല്ല എന്നു അവന് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

21. And they axed him: What the? Art thou Elias? He sayde: I am not. Art thou the Prophet? And he answered: No.

22. അവര് അവനോടുനീ ആരാകുന്നു? ഞങ്ങളെ അയച്ചവരോടു ഉത്തരം പറയേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ നിന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു തന്നേ എന്തു പറയുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

22. Then sayde they vnto him: What art thou the, yt we maye geue answere vnto the that sent vs? What sayest thou of yi self?

23. അതിന്നു അവന് യെശയ്യാപ്രവാചകന് പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെകര്ത്താവിന്റെ വഴി നേരെ ആക്കുവിന് എന്നു മരുഭൂമിയില് വിളിച്ചുപറയുന്നവന്റെ ശബ്ദം ഞാന് ആകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

23. He sayde: I am ye voyce of a cryer in the wyldernesse. Make straight ye waye of the LORDE. As ye prophet Esay sayde:

24. അയക്കപ്പെട്ടവര് പരീശന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിലുള്ളവര് ആയിരുന്നു.

24. And they that were sent, were of ye Pharises.

25. എന്നാല് നീ ക്രിസ്തുവല്ല, ഏലീയാവല്ല, ആ പ്രവാചകനും അല്ല എന്നു വരികില് നീ സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു അവര് ചോദിച്ചു.

25. And they axed him, & sayde vnto him: Why baptysest thou then, yf thou be not Christ, ner Elias, ner a prophet?

26. അതിന്നു യോഹന്നാന് ഞാന് വെള്ളത്തില് സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; എന്നാല് നിങ്ങള് അറിയാത്ത ഒരുത്തന് നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് നിലക്കുന്നുണ്ടു;

26. Ihon answered them, and sayde: I baptyse with water, but there is one come in amonge you, whom ye knowe not.

27. എന്റെ പിന്നാലെ വരുന്നവന് തന്നേ; അവന്റെ ചെരിപ്പിന്റെ വാറു അഴിപ്പാന് ഞാന് യോഗ്യന് അല്ല എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

27. It is he that cometh after me, which was before me: whose shue lachet I am not worthy to vnlowse.

28. ഇതു യോര്ദ്ദന്നക്കാരെ യോഹന്നാന് സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്ന ബേഥാന്യയില് സംഭവിച്ചു.

28. This was done at Bethabara beyonde Iordane, where Ihon dyd baptyse.

29. പിറ്റെന്നാള് യേശു തന്റെ അടുക്കല് വരുന്നതു അവന് കണ്ടിട്ടുഇതാ, ലോകത്തിന്റെ പാപം ചുമക്കുന്ന ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കുഞ്ഞാടു;

29. The nexte daye after, Ihon sawe Iesus commynge vnto him, and sayde: Beholde the labe of God, which taketh awaye the synne of the worlde.

30. എന്റെ പിന്നാലെ ഒരു പുരുഷന് വരുന്നു; അവന് എനിക്കു മുമ്പെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു എനിക്കു മുമ്പനായി തീര്ന്നു എന്നു ഞാന് പറഞ്ഞവന് ഇവന് തന്നേ.

30. This is he, of whom I sayde vnto you: After me commeth a man, which was before me. For he was or euer I,

31. ഞാനോ അവനെ അറിഞ്ഞില്ല; എങ്കിലും അവന് യിസ്രായേലിന്നു വെളിപ്പെടേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് വെള്ളത്തില് സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിപ്പാന് വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

31. and I knewe him not: but that he shulde be declared in Israel, therfore am I come to baptyse with water.

32. യോഹന്നാന് പിന്നെയും സാക്ഷ്യം പറഞ്ഞതുആത്മാവു ഒരു പ്രാവുപോലെ സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില്നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവരുന്നതു ഞാന് കണ്ടു; അതു അവന്റെ മേല് വസിച്ചു.

32. And Ihon bare recorde, & sayde: I sawe the sprete descende from heauen like vnto a doue, and abode vpon him,

33. ഞാനോ അവനെ അറിഞ്ഞില്ല; എങ്കിലും വെള്ളത്തില് സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിപ്പാന് എന്നെ അയച്ചവന് എന്നോടുആരുടെമേല് ആത്മാവു ഇറങ്ങുന്നതും വസിക്കുന്നതും നീ കാണുമോ അവന് പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവില് സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിക്കുന്നവന് ആകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

33. & I knewe him not. But he that sent me to baptyse with water, ye same sayde vnto me: Vpon whom thou shalt se the sprete descende and tary styll on him, the same is he, that baptyseth with the holy goost.

34. അങ്ങനെ ഞാന് കാണുകയും ഇവന് ദൈവപുത്രന് തന്നേ എന്നു സാക്ഷ്യം പറകയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

34. And I sawe it, and bare recorde, that this is the sonne of God.

35. പിറ്റെന്നാള് യോഹന്നാന് പിന്നെയും തന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരില് രണ്ടുപേരുമായി അവിടെ നിലക്കുമ്പോള്

35. The nexte daye after, Ihon stode agayne, and two of his disciples.

36. കടന്നുപോകുന്ന യേശുവിനെ നോക്കീട്ടുഇതാ, ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കുഞ്ഞാടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

36. And wha he sawe Iesus walkynge, he sayde: Beholde the labe of God.

37. അവന് പറഞ്ഞതു ആ രണ്ടു ശിഷ്യന്മാര് കേട്ടു യേശുവിനെ അനുഗമിച്ചു.

37. And two of his disciples herde him speake, and folowed Iesus.

38. യേശു തിരിഞ്ഞു അവര് പിന്നാലെ വരുന്നതു കണ്ടു അവരോടുനിങ്ങള് എന്തു അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. അവര്റബ്ബീ, എന്നു വെച്ചാല് ഗുരോ, നീ എവിടെ പാര്ക്കുംന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

38. And Iesus turned him aboute, and sawe them folowinge, and sayde vnto the: What seke ye? They sayde vnto him: Rabbi, (which is to saye by interpretacion, Master.) Where art thou at lodginge?

39. അവന് അവരോടുവന്നു കാണ്മിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ അവന് വസിക്കുന്ന ഇടം അവര് കണ്ടു അന്നു അവനോടുകൂടെ പാര്ത്തു; അപ്പോള് ഏകദേശം പത്താംമണി നേരം ആയിരുന്നു.

39. He sayde vnto them: Come and se it. They came and sawe it, & abode with him the same daye. It was aboute the tenth houre.

40. യോഹന്നാന് പറഞ്ഞതു കേട്ടു അവനെ അനുഗമിച്ച രണ്ടുപേരില് ഒരുത്തന് ശിമോന് പത്രൊസിന്റെ സഹോദരനായ അന്ത്രെയാസ് ആയിരുന്നു.

40. One of the two, which herde Ihon speake, and folowed Iesus, was Andrew the brother of Symon Peter:

41. അവന് തന്റെ സഹോദരനായ ശിമോനെ ആദ്യം കണ്ടു അവനോടുഞങ്ങള് മശീഹയെ എന്നുവെച്ചാല് ക്രിസ്തുവെ കണ്ടെത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

41. the same founde first his brother Symon, and sayde vnto him: We haue founde Messias (which is by interpretacion, ye Anoynted)

42. and brought him to Iesus. Whan Iesus behelde him, he sayde: Thou art Symon the sonne of Ionas, thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretacion, a stone.

43. പിറ്റെന്നാള് യേശു ഗലീലെക്കു പുറപ്പെടുവാന് ഭാവിച്ചപ്പോള് ഫിലിപ്പോസിനെ കണ്ടുഎന്നെ അനുഗമിക്ക എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

43. The nexte daye after, wolde Iesus go agayne in to Galile, and founde Philippe, and sayde vnto him: Folowe me.

44. ഫിലിപ്പോസോ അന്ത്രെയാസിന്റെയും പത്രൊസിന്റെയും പട്ടണമായ ബേത്ത് സയിദയില്നിന്നുള്ളവന് ആയിരുന്നു.

44. Philippe was of Bethsaida the cite of Andrew and Peter.

45. ഫിലിപ്പോസ് നഥനയേലിനെ കണ്ടു അവനോടുന്യായപ്രമാണത്തില് മോശെയും പ്രവാചകന്മാരും എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നവനെ കണ്ടെത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന് യോസേഫിന്റെ പുത്രനായ യേശു എന്ന നസറെത്തുകാരന് തന്നേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

45. Philippe founde Nathanael, and sayde vnto him: We haue founde him, of who Moses in the lawe, and ye prophetes haue wrytten, euen Iesus the sonne of Ioseph of Nazareth.

46. നഥനയേല് അവനോടുനസറെത്തില്നിന്നു വല്ല നന്മയും വരുമോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ഫിലിപ്പോസ് അവനോടുവന്നു കാണ്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

46. And Nathanaell sayde vnto him: What good can come out of Nazareth? Philippe sayde vnto him: Come, and se.

47. നഥനയേല് തന്റെ അടുക്കല് വരുന്നതു യേശു കണ്ടുഇതാ, സാക്ഷാല് യിസ്രായേല്യന് ; ഇവനില് കപടം ഇല്ല എന്നു അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

47. Iesus sawe Nathanael comynge to him, and sayde of him: Beholde, a righte Israelite, in whom is no gyle.

48. നഥനയേല് അവനോടുഎന്നെ എവിടെവെച്ചു അറിയും എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നുഫിലിപ്പോസ് നിന്നെ വിളിക്കുംമുമ്പെ നീ അത്തിയുടെ കീഴില് ഇരിക്കുമ്പോള് ഞാന് നിന്നെ കണ്ടു എന്നു യേശു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

48. Nathanael sayde vnto him: From whence knowest thou me? Iesus answered, and sayde vnto him: Before yt Philippe called the, whan thou wast vnder the fygge tre, I sawe the.

49. നഥനയേല് അവനോടുറബ്ബീ, നീ ദൈവപുത്രന് , നീ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ രാജാവു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

49. Nathanaell answered, and sayde vnto hi: Rabbi, thou art ye sonne of God, thou art ye kynge of Israel.

50. യേശു അവനോടുഞാന് നിന്നെ അത്തിയുടെ കീഴില് കണ്ടു എന്നു നിന്നോടു പറകകൊണ്ടു നീ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നുവോ? നീ ഇതിനെക്കാള് വലിയതു കാണും എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

50. Iesus answered, & sayde vnto him: Because I sayde vnto the, that I sawe the vnder the fygge tre, thou beleuest: thou shalt se yet greater thinges the these.

51. ആമേന് ആമേന് ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നുസ്വര്ഗ്ഗം തുറന്നിരിക്കുന്നതും മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്റെ അടുക്കല് ദൈവദൂതന്മാര് കയറുകയും ഇറങ്ങുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതും നിങ്ങള് കാണും എന്നും അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

51. And he sayde vnto him: Verely verely I saye vnto you: Fro this tyme forth shal ye se the heauen open, and the angels of God goinge vp & downe ouer the sonne of man.
