1. ആദിയില് വചനം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; വചനം ദൈവത്തോടുകൂടെ ആയിരുന്നു; വചനം ദൈവം ആയിരുന്നു.

1. In the begynnyng was the worde, & the worde was with God: and that worde was God.

2. The same was in the begynnyng with God.

3. സകലവും അവന് മുഖാന്തരം ഉളവായി; ഉളവായത് ഒന്നും അവനെ കൂടാതെ ഉളവായതല്ല.

3. All thynges were made by it: and without it, was made nothyng that was made.

4. അവനില് ജീവന് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; ജീവന് മനുഷ്യരുടെ വെളിച്ചമായിരുന്നു.

4. In it was lyfe, and the lyfe was the lyght of men,

5. വെളിച്ചം ഇരുളില് പ്രകാശിക്കുന്നു; ഇരുളോ അതിനെ പിടിച്ചടക്കിയില്ല.

5. And the lyght shyneth in darkenesse: and the darknesse comprehended it not.

6. ദൈവം അയച്ചിട്ടു ഒരു മനുഷ്യന് വന്നു; അവന്നു യോഹന്നാന് എന്നു പേര്.

6. There was a man sent from God, whose name was Iohn:

7. അവന് സാക്ഷ്യത്തിന്നായി താന് മുഖാന്തരം എല്ലാവരും വിശ്വസിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു വെളിച്ചത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു സാക്ഷ്യം പറവാന് തന്നേ വന്നു.

7. The same came for a witnesse, to beare witnesse of the lyght, that all men through hym myght beleue.

8. അവന് വെളിച്ചം ആയിരുന്നില്ല; വെളിച്ചത്തിന്നു സാക്ഷ്യം പറയേണ്ടുന്നവനത്രേ.

8. He was not that lyght: but was sent to beare witnesse of the lyght.

9. ഏതു മനുഷ്യനെയും പ്രകാശിപ്പിക്കുന്ന സത്യവെളിച്ചം ലോകത്തിലേക്കു വന്നുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

9. That [lyght] was the true lyght, which lyghteth euery man that commeth into the worlde.

10. അവന് ലോകത്തില് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; ലോകം അവന് മുഖാന്തരം ഉളവായി; ലോകമോ അവനെ അറിഞ്ഞില്ല.

10. He was in the worlde, and the worlde was made by hym, and the worlde knewe hym not.

11. അവന് സ്വന്തത്തിലേക്കു വന്നു; സ്വന്തമായവരോ അവനെ കൈക്കൊണ്ടില്ല.

11. He came among his owne, and his owne receaued hym not.

12. അവനെ കൈക്കൊണ്ടു അവന്റെ നാമത്തില് വിശ്വസിക്കുന്ന ഏവര്ക്കും ദൈവമക്കള് ആകുവാന് അവന് അധികാരം കൊടുത്തു.

12. But as many as receaued hym, to them gaue he power to be the sonnes of God, euen them that beleued on his name.

13. അവര് രക്തത്തില് നിന്നല്ല, ജഡത്തിന്റെ ഇഷ്ടത്താലല്ല, പുരുഷന്റെ ഇഷ്ടത്താലുമല്ല, ദൈവത്തില് നിന്നത്രേ ജനിച്ചതു.

13. Which were borne, not of blood, nor of the wyll of the fleshe, nor yet of the wyll of man, but of God.

14. വചനം ജഡമായി തീര്ന്നു, കൃപയും സത്യവും നിറഞ്ഞവനായി നമ്മുടെ ഇടയില് പാര്ത്തു. ഞങ്ങള് അവന്റെ തേജസ്സ് പിതാവില് നിന്നു ഏകജാതനായവന്റെ തേജസ്സായി കണ്ടു.

14. And the same word became fleshe, and dwelt among vs ( and we sawe the glory of it, as the glory of the only begotten sonne of the father) full of grace and trueth.

15. യോഹന്നാന് അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു സാക്ഷീകരിച്ചുഎന്റെ പിന്നാലെ വരുന്നവന് എനിക്കു മുമ്പനായി തീര്ന്നു; അവന് എനിക്കു മുമ്പെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു എന്നു ഞാന് പറഞ്ഞവന് ഇവന് തന്നേ എന്നു വിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

15. Iohn beareth witnesse of hym, and cryeth, saying: This was he of whom I spake, he that commeth after me, is preferred before me, for he was before me.

16. അവന്റെ നിറവില് നിന്നു നമുക്കു എല്ലാവര്ക്കും കൃപമേല് കൃപ ലഭിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

16. And of his fulnesse haue all we receaued, and grace for grace.

17. ന്യായപ്രമാണം മോശെ മുഖാന്തരം ലഭിച്ചു; കൃപയും സത്യവും യേശുക്രിസ്തു മുഖാന്തരം വന്നു.

17. For the lawe was geuen by Moyses: but grace and trueth came by Iesus Christe.

18. ദൈവത്തെ ആരും ഒരുനാളും കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല; പിതാവിന്റെ മടിയില് ഇരിക്കുന്ന ഏകജാതനായ പുത്രന് അവനെ വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

18. No man hath seene God at any tyme: The onely begotten sonne which is in the bosome of the father, he hath declared hym.

19. നീ ആര് എന്നു യോഹന്നാനോടു ചോദിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു യെഹൂദന്മാര് യെരൂശലേമില് നിന്നു പുരോഹിതന്മാരെയും ലേവ്യരെയും അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് അയച്ചപ്പോള് അവന്റെ സാക്ഷ്യം എന്തെന്നാല്അവന് മറുക്കാതെ ഏറ്റുപറഞ്ഞു;

19. And this is the recorde of Iohn: When the Iewes sent priestes and leuites from Hierusalem, to aske hym: What art thou?

20. ഞാന് ക്രിസ്തു അല്ല എന്നു ഏറ്റു പറഞ്ഞു.

20. And he confessed and denyed not, and sayde playnely, I am not that Christe.

21. പിന്നെ എന്തു? നീ ഏലീയാവോ എന്നു അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നുഅല്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. നീ ആ പ്രവാചകനോ? എന്നതിന്നുഅല്ല എന്നു അവന് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

21. And they asked hym: What then? art thou Elias? And he sayth, I am not. Art thou that prophete? And he aunswered, no.

22. അവര് അവനോടുനീ ആരാകുന്നു? ഞങ്ങളെ അയച്ചവരോടു ഉത്തരം പറയേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ നിന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു തന്നേ എന്തു പറയുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

22. Then sayde they vnto hym: What art thou? that we may geue an aunswere to them that sent vs: What sayest thou of thy selfe?

23. അതിന്നു അവന് യെശയ്യാപ്രവാചകന് പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെകര്ത്താവിന്റെ വഴി നേരെ ആക്കുവിന് എന്നു മരുഭൂമിയില് വിളിച്ചുപറയുന്നവന്റെ ശബ്ദം ഞാന് ആകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

23. He sayde: I am the voyce of a cryer in the wildernesse, make strayght the way of the Lorde, as sayde the prophete Esaias.

24. അയക്കപ്പെട്ടവര് പരീശന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിലുള്ളവര് ആയിരുന്നു.

24. And they which were sent, were of the pharisees.

25. എന്നാല് നീ ക്രിസ്തുവല്ല, ഏലീയാവല്ല, ആ പ്രവാചകനും അല്ല എന്നു വരികില് നീ സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു അവര് ചോദിച്ചു.

25. And they asked hym, and sayde vnto hym: Why baptizest thou then, yf thou be not Christe, nor Elias, neither that prophete?

26. അതിന്നു യോഹന്നാന് ഞാന് വെള്ളത്തില് സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; എന്നാല് നിങ്ങള് അറിയാത്ത ഒരുത്തന് നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് നിലക്കുന്നുണ്ടു;

26. Iohn aunswered them, saying: I baptize with water, but there standeth one among you, whom ye knowe not,

27. എന്റെ പിന്നാലെ വരുന്നവന് തന്നേ; അവന്റെ ചെരിപ്പിന്റെ വാറു അഴിപ്പാന് ഞാന് യോഗ്യന് അല്ല എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

27. He it is, which though he came after me, was before me, whose shoes latchet I am not worthy to vnloose.

28. ഇതു യോര്ദ്ദന്നക്കാരെ യോഹന്നാന് സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്ന ബേഥാന്യയില് സംഭവിച്ചു.

28. These thynges were done in Bethabara beyonde Iordane, where Iohn dyd baptize.

29. പിറ്റെന്നാള് യേശു തന്റെ അടുക്കല് വരുന്നതു അവന് കണ്ടിട്ടുഇതാ, ലോകത്തിന്റെ പാപം ചുമക്കുന്ന ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കുഞ്ഞാടു;

29. The next day, Iohn seeth Iesus comming vnto hym, and saith, beholde the lambe of God, which taketh away the sinne of the worlde.

30. എന്റെ പിന്നാലെ ഒരു പുരുഷന് വരുന്നു; അവന് എനിക്കു മുമ്പെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു എനിക്കു മുമ്പനായി തീര്ന്നു എന്നു ഞാന് പറഞ്ഞവന് ഇവന് തന്നേ.

30. This is he of whom I sayde, After me commeth a man, which is preferred before me, for he was before me.

31. ഞാനോ അവനെ അറിഞ്ഞില്ല; എങ്കിലും അവന് യിസ്രായേലിന്നു വെളിപ്പെടേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് വെള്ളത്തില് സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിപ്പാന് വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

31. And I knewe hym not: but that he shoulde be declared to Israel, therfore am I come, baptizing with water.

32. യോഹന്നാന് പിന്നെയും സാക്ഷ്യം പറഞ്ഞതുആത്മാവു ഒരു പ്രാവുപോലെ സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില്നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവരുന്നതു ഞാന് കണ്ടു; അതു അവന്റെ മേല് വസിച്ചു.

32. And Iohn bare recorde, saying: I sawe the spirite descende from heauen, lyke vnto a doue, and abode vpon hym,

33. ഞാനോ അവനെ അറിഞ്ഞില്ല; എങ്കിലും വെള്ളത്തില് സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിപ്പാന് എന്നെ അയച്ചവന് എന്നോടുആരുടെമേല് ആത്മാവു ഇറങ്ങുന്നതും വസിക്കുന്നതും നീ കാണുമോ അവന് പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവില് സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിക്കുന്നവന് ആകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

33. And knewe hym not. But he that sent me to baptize with water, the same saide vnto me: vpon whom thou shalt see the spirite descende, and tary styll on hym, the same is he which baptizeth with the holy ghost.

34. അങ്ങനെ ഞാന് കാണുകയും ഇവന് ദൈവപുത്രന് തന്നേ എന്നു സാക്ഷ്യം പറകയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

34. And I sawe, and bare recorde, that he is the sonne of God.

35. പിറ്റെന്നാള് യോഹന്നാന് പിന്നെയും തന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരില് രണ്ടുപേരുമായി അവിടെ നിലക്കുമ്പോള്

35. The next day after, Iohn stoode agayne, and two of his disciples.

36. കടന്നുപോകുന്ന യേശുവിനെ നോക്കീട്ടുഇതാ, ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കുഞ്ഞാടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
യെശയ്യാ 53:7

36. And he behelde Iesus as he walked by, & sayth: beholde the lambe of God.

37. അവന് പറഞ്ഞതു ആ രണ്ടു ശിഷ്യന്മാര് കേട്ടു യേശുവിനെ അനുഗമിച്ചു.

37. And the two disciples hearde hym speake, and they folowed Iesus.

38. യേശു തിരിഞ്ഞു അവര് പിന്നാലെ വരുന്നതു കണ്ടു അവരോടുനിങ്ങള് എന്തു അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. അവര്റബ്ബീ, എന്നു വെച്ചാല് ഗുരോ, നീ എവിടെ പാര്ക്കുംന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

38. And Iesus turned about, and sawe them folowe hym, & sayth vnto them: What seeke ye? They sayde vnto hym: Rabbi (which is to say yf one interprete it, Maister) where dwellest thou?

39. അവന് അവരോടുവന്നു കാണ്മിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ അവന് വസിക്കുന്ന ഇടം അവര് കണ്ടു അന്നു അവനോടുകൂടെ പാര്ത്തു; അപ്പോള് ഏകദേശം പത്താംമണി നേരം ആയിരുന്നു.

39. He sayeth vnto them: come and see. They came, and sawe where he dwelt, and abode with hym that day: For it was about the tenth houre.

40. യോഹന്നാന് പറഞ്ഞതു കേട്ടു അവനെ അനുഗമിച്ച രണ്ടുപേരില് ഒരുത്തന് ശിമോന് പത്രൊസിന്റെ സഹോദരനായ അന്ത്രെയാസ് ആയിരുന്നു.

40. One of the two which hearde Iohn speake, & folowed hym, was Andrewe, Simon Peters brother.

41. അവന് തന്റെ സഹോദരനായ ശിമോനെ ആദ്യം കണ്ടു അവനോടുഞങ്ങള് മശീഹയെ എന്നുവെച്ചാല് ക്രിസ്തുവെ കണ്ടെത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

41. The same founde his brother Simon first, and sayth vnto hym: We haue founde Messias, which is by interpretation, the annoynted.

42. അവനെ യേശുവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; യേശു അവനെ നോക്കിനീ യോഹന്നാന്റെ പുത്രനായ ശിമോന് ആകുന്നു; നിനക്കു കേഫാ എന്നു പേരാകും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അതു പത്രൊസ് എന്നാകുന്നു.

42. And brought hym to Iesus. And Iesus behelde hym, and sayde: Thou art Simon the sonne of Iona, thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, a stone.

43. പിറ്റെന്നാള് യേശു ഗലീലെക്കു പുറപ്പെടുവാന് ഭാവിച്ചപ്പോള് ഫിലിപ്പോസിനെ കണ്ടുഎന്നെ അനുഗമിക്ക എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

43. The day folowyng, Iesus woulde go into Galilee, & founde Philip, and sayth vnto hym, folowe me.

44. ഫിലിപ്പോസോ അന്ത്രെയാസിന്റെയും പത്രൊസിന്റെയും പട്ടണമായ ബേത്ത് സയിദയില്നിന്നുള്ളവന് ആയിരുന്നു.

44. Philip was of Bethsaida, the citie of Andrewe and Peter.

45. ഫിലിപ്പോസ് നഥനയേലിനെ കണ്ടു അവനോടുന്യായപ്രമാണത്തില് മോശെയും പ്രവാചകന്മാരും എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നവനെ കണ്ടെത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന് യോസേഫിന്റെ പുത്രനായ യേശു എന്ന നസറെത്തുകാരന് തന്നേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

45. Philip founde Nathanael, and sayth vnto hym: We haue founde hym, of whom Moyses in the lawe, and the prophetes, dyd write: Iesus of Nazareth, the sonne of Ioseph.

46. നഥനയേല് അവനോടുനസറെത്തില്നിന്നു വല്ല നന്മയും വരുമോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ഫിലിപ്പോസ് അവനോടുവന്നു കാണ്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

46. And Nathanael sayde vnto hym: Can there any good thyng come out of Nazareth? Philip sayth vnto him: come and see.

47. നഥനയേല് തന്റെ അടുക്കല് വരുന്നതു യേശു കണ്ടുഇതാ, സാക്ഷാല് യിസ്രായേല്യന് ; ഇവനില് കപടം ഇല്ല എന്നു അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

47. Iesus sawe Nathanael commyng to hym, & sayeth of hym: Beholde a ryght Israelite, in whom is no guile.

48. നഥനയേല് അവനോടുഎന്നെ എവിടെവെച്ചു അറിയും എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നുഫിലിപ്പോസ് നിന്നെ വിളിക്കുംമുമ്പെ നീ അത്തിയുടെ കീഴില് ഇരിക്കുമ്പോള് ഞാന് നിന്നെ കണ്ടു എന്നു യേശു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

48. Nathanael sayth vnto hym: Whence knewest thou me? Iesus aunswered, and sayde vnto hym: Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast vnder the fygge tree, I sawe thee.

49. നഥനയേല് അവനോടുറബ്ബീ, നീ ദൈവപുത്രന് , നീ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ രാജാവു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

49. Nathanael aunswered, and sayde vnto hym: Rabbi, thou art euen the [very] sonne of God, thou art ye kyng of Israel.

50. യേശു അവനോടുഞാന് നിന്നെ അത്തിയുടെ കീഴില് കണ്ടു എന്നു നിന്നോടു പറകകൊണ്ടു നീ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നുവോ? നീ ഇതിനെക്കാള് വലിയതു കാണും എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

50. Iesus aunswered, & sayde vnto hym: Because I sayde vnto thee, I saw thee vnder the fygge tree, thou beleuest: Thou shalt see greater thynges then these.

51. ആമേന് ആമേന് ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നുസ്വര്ഗ്ഗം തുറന്നിരിക്കുന്നതും മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്റെ അടുക്കല് ദൈവദൂതന്മാര് കയറുകയും ഇറങ്ങുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതും നിങ്ങള് കാണും എന്നും അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

51. And he sayth vnto hym: Ueryly, veryly I say vnto you, hereafter shall ye see heauen open, and the Angels of God ascendyng & descendyng vpon the sonne of man.
