1. പരീശന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തില് യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ ഒരു പ്രമാണിയായി നിക്കോദേമൊസ് എന്നു പേരുള്ളോരു മനുഷ്യന് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

1. And there was a man of the Farisees, Nychodeme bi name, a prince of the Jewis.

2. അവന് രാത്രിയില് അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു അവനോടുറബ്ബീ, നീ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കല് നിന്നു ഉപദേഷ്ടാവായി വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഞങ്ങള് അറിയുന്നു; ദൈവം തന്നോടു കൂടെ ഇല്ലെങ്കില് നീ ചെയ്യുന്ന ഈ അടയാളങ്ങളെ ചെയ്വാന് ആര്ക്കും കഴികയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

2. And he cam to Jhesu bi niyt, and seide to hym, Rabi, we witen, that thou art comun fro God maister; for no man may do these signes, that thou doist, but God be with hym.

3. യേശു അവനോടുആമേന് , ആമേന് , ഞാന് നിന്നോടു പറയുന്നു; പുതുതായി ജനിച്ചില്ല എങ്കില് ദൈവരാജ്യം കാണ്മാന് ആര്ക്കും കഴിയകയില്ല എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

3. Jhesus answerde, and seide to hym, Treuli, treuli, Y seie to thee, but a man be borun ayen, he may not se the kyngdom of God.

4. നിക്കോദെമൊസ് അവനോടുമനുഷ്യന് വൃദ്ധനായശേഷം ജനിക്കുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ? രണ്ടാമതും അമ്മയുടെ ഉദരത്തില് കടന്നു ജനിക്കാമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

4. Nychodeme seide to hym, Hou may a man be borun, whanne he is eeld? whether he may entre ayen in to his modris wombe, and be borun ayen?

5. അതിന്നു യേശുആമേന് , ആമേന് , ഞാന് നിന്നോടു പറയുന്നുവെള്ളത്താലും ആത്മാവിനാലും ജനിച്ചില്ല എങ്കില് ദൈവരാജ്യത്തില് കടപ്പാന് ആര്ക്കും കഴികയില്ല.

5. Jhesus answeride, Treuli, treuli, Y seie to thee, but a man be borun ayen of watir, and of the Hooli Goost, he may not entre in to the kyngdom of God.

6. ജഡത്താല് ജനിച്ചതു ജഡം ആകുന്നു; ആത്മാവിനാല് ജനിച്ചതു ആത്മാവു ആകുന്നു.

6. `That that is borun of the fleisch, is fleisch; and `that that is borun of spirit, is spirit.

7. നിങ്ങള് പുതുതായി ജനിക്കേണം എന്നു ഞാന് നിന്നോടു പറകയാല് ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെടരുതു.

7. Wondre thou not, for Y seide to thee, It bihoueth you to be borun ayen.

8. കാറ്റു ഇഷ്ടമുള്ളേടത്തു ഊതുന്നു; അതിന്റെ ശബ്ദം നീ കേള്ക്കുന്നു; എങ്കിലും അതു എവിടെനിന്നു വരുന്നു എന്നും എവിടേക്കു പോകുന്നു എന്നും അറിയുന്നില്ല; ആത്മാവിനാല് ജനിച്ചവന് എല്ലാം അതുപോലെ ആകുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

8. The spirit brethith where he wole, and thou herist his vois, but thou wost not, fro whennus he cometh, ne whidir he goith; so is ech man that is borun of the spirit.

9. നിക്കോദേമൊസ് അവനോടുഇതു എങ്ങനെ സംഭവിക്കും എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

9. Nychodeme answeride, and seide to hym, Hou moun these thingis be don?

10. യേശു അവനോടു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതുനീ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ഉപദേഷ്ടാവായിരുന്നിട്ടും ഇതു അറിയുന്നില്ലയോ?

10. Jhesus answeride, and seide to hym, Thou art a maister in Israel, and knowist not these thingis?

11. ആമേന് , ആമേന് , ഞാന് നിന്നോടു പറയുന്നുഞങ്ങള് അറിയുന്നതു പ്രസ്താവിക്കയും കണ്ടതു സാക്ഷീകരിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നുഞങ്ങളുടെ സാക്ഷ്യം നിങ്ങള് കൈക്കൊള്ളുന്നില്ലതാനും.
യെശയ്യാ 55:4

11. Treuli, treuli, Y seie to thee, for we speken that that we witen, and we witnessen that that we han seyn, and ye taken not oure witnessyng.

12. ഭൂമിയിലുള്ളതു നിങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു നിങ്ങള് വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നില്ലെങ്കില് സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തിലുള്ളതു നിങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞാല് എങ്ങനെ വിശ്വസിക്കും?

12. If Y haue seid to you ertheli thingis, and ye bileuen not, hou if Y seie to you heueneli thingis, schulen ye bileue?

13. സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില് നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവന്ന (വനായി സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില് ഇരിക്കുന്നവനായ) മനുഷ്യപുത്രന് അല്ലാതെ ആരും സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില് കയറീട്ടില്ല.

13. And no man stieth in to heuene, but he that cam doun fro heuene, mannys sone that is in heuene.

14. മോശെ മരുഭൂമിയില് സര്പ്പത്തെ ഉയര്ത്തിയതുപോലെ മനുഷ്യപുത്രനെയും ഉയര്ത്തേണ്ടതാകുന്നു.

14. And as Moises areride a serpent in desert, so it bihoueth mannys sone to be reisid,

15. അവനില് വിശ്വസിക്കുന്ന ഏവനും നിത്യജീവന് പ്രാപിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്നേ.

15. that ech man that bileueth in hym, perische not, but haue euerlastynge lijf.

16. തന്റെ ഏകജാതനായ പുത്രനില് വിശ്വസിക്കുന്ന ഏവനും നശിച്ചുപോകാതെ നിത്യജീവന് പ്രാപിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ദൈവം അവനെ നലകുവാന് തക്കവണ്ണം ലോകത്തെ സ്നേഹിച്ചു.

16. For God louede so the world, that he yaf his `oon bigetun sone, that ech man that bileueth in him perische not, but haue euerlastynge lijf.

17. ദൈവം തന്റെ പുത്രനെ ലോകത്തില് അയച്ചതു ലോകത്തെ വിധിപ്പാനല്ല ലോകം അവനാല് രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുവാനത്രേ.

17. For God sente not his sone in to the world, that he iuge the world, but that the world be saued bi him.

18. അവനില് വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവന്നു ന്യായവിധി ഇല്ല; വിശ്വസിക്കാത്തവന്നു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ഏകജതാനായ പുത്രന്റെ നാമത്തില് വിശ്വസിക്കായ്കയാല് ന്യായവിധി വന്നുകഴിഞ്ഞു.

18. He that bileueth in hym, is not demed; but he that bileueth not, is now demed, for he bileueth not in the name of the `oon bigetun sone of God.

19. ന്യായവിധി എന്നതോ, വെളിച്ചം ലോകത്തില് വന്നിട്ടും മനുഷ്യരുടെ പ്രവൃത്തി ദോഷമുള്ളതു ആകയാല് അവര് വെളിച്ചത്തെക്കാള് ഇരുളിനെ സ്നേഹിച്ചതു തന്നേ.

19. And this is the dom, for liyt cam in to the world, and men loueden more derknessis than liyt; for her werkes weren yuele.

20. തിന്മ പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുന്നവന് എല്ലാം വെളിച്ചത്തെ പകെക്കുന്നു; തന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിക്കു ആക്ഷേപം വരാതിരിപ്പാന് വെളിച്ചത്തിങ്കലേക്കു വരുന്നതുമില്ല.

20. For ech man that doith yuele, hatith the liyt; and he cometh not to the liyt, that hise werkis be not repreued.

21. സത്യം പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുന്നവനോ, തന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തി ദൈവത്തില് ചെയ്തിരിക്കയാല് അതു വെളിപ്പെടേണ്ടതിന്നു വെളിച്ചത്തിങ്കലേക്കു വരുന്നു.

21. But he that doith treuthe, cometh to the liyt, that hise werkis be schewid, that thei ben don in God.

22. അതിന്റെ ശേഷം യേശു ശിഷ്യന്മാരുമായി യെഹൂദ്യദേശത്തു വന്നു അവരോടുകൂടെ സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

22. Aftir these thingis Jhesus cam, and hise disciplis, in to the loond of Judee, and there he dwellide with hem, and baptiside.

23. യോഹന്നാനും ശലേമിന്നു അരികത്തു ഐനോനില് സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു; അവിടെ വളരെ വെള്ളം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; ആളുകള് വന്നു സ്നാനം ഏറ്റു.

23. And Joon was baptisinge in Ennon, bisidis Salym, for many watris weren there; and thei camen, and weren baptisid.

24. അന്നു യോഹന്നാനെ തടവില് ആക്കിയിരുന്നില്ല.

24. And Joon was not yit sent in to prisoun.

25. യോഹന്നാന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരില് ചിലര്ക്കും ഒരു യെഹൂദനുമായി ശുദ്ധീകരണത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു ഒരു വാദം ഉണ്ടായി;

25. Therfor a questioun was maad of Jonys disciplis with the Jewis, of the purificacioun.

26. അവര് യോഹന്നാന്റെ അടുക്കല്വന്നു അവനോടുറബ്ബീ, യോര്ദ്ദാന്നക്കരെ നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ഇരുന്നവന് , നീ സാക്ഷീകരിച്ചുട്ടുള്ളവന് തന്നേ, ഇതാ, സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; എല്ലാവരും അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് ചെല്ലുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

26. And thei camen to Joon, and seiden `to hym, Maister, he that was with thee biyonde Jordan, to whom thou hast borun witnessyng, lo! he baptisith, and alle men comen to hym.

27. അതിന്നു യോഹന്നാന് സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില് നിന്നു കൊടുത്തിട്ടല്ലാതെ മനുഷ്യന്നു ഒന്നും ലഭിപ്പാന് കഴികയില്ല.

27. Joon answerde, and seide, A man may not take ony thing, but it be youun to hym fro heuene.

28. ഞാന് ക്രിസ്തു അല്ല, അവന്നു മുമ്പായി അയക്കപ്പെട്ടവനത്രേ എന്നു ഞാന് പറഞ്ഞതിന്നു നിങ്ങള് തന്നേ എനിക്കു സാക്ഷികള് ആകുന്നു;
മലാഖി 3:1

28. Ye you silf beren witnessyng to me, that Y seide, Y am not Crist, but that Y am sent bifore hym.

29. മണവാട്ടി ഉള്ളവന് മണവാളന് ആകുന്നു; മണവാളന്റെ സ്നേഹിതനോ നിന്നു മണവാളന്റെ സ്വരം കേട്ടിട്ടു അത്യന്തം സന്തോഷിക്കുന്നു; ഈ എന്റെ സന്തോഷം പൂര്ത്തിയായിരിക്കുന്നു.

29. He that hath a wijf, is the hosebonde; but the freend of the spouse that stondith, and herith hym, ioieth with ioye, for the vois of the spouse. Therfor in this thing my ioye is fulfillid.

30. അവന് വളരേണം, ഞാനോ കുറയേണം എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

30. It bihoueth hym to wexe, but me to be maad lesse.

31. മേലില് നിന്നു വരുന്നവന് എല്ലാവര്ക്കും മീതെയുള്ളവന് ; ഭൂമിയില് നിന്നുള്ളവന് ഭൌമികന് ആകുന്നു; ഭൌമികമായതു സംസാരിക്കുന്നു; സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില്നിന്നു വരുന്നവന് എല്ലാവര്ക്കും മീതെയുള്ളവനായി താന് കാണ്കെയും കേള്ക്കയും ചെയ്തതു സാക്ഷീകരിക്കുന്നു;

31. He that cam from aboue, is aboue alle; he that is of the erthe, spekith of the erthe; he that cometh from heuene, is aboue alle.

32. അവന്റെ സാക്ഷ്യം ആരും കൈക്കൊള്ളുന്നില്ല.
യെശയ്യാ 55:4

32. And he witnessith that thing that he hath seie, and herde, and no man takith his witnessing.

33. അവന്റെ സാക്ഷ്യം കൈക്കൊള്ളുന്നവന് ദൈവം സത്യവാന് എന്നുള്ളതിന്നു മുദ്രയിടുന്നു.

33. But he that takith his witnessyng, hath confermyd that God is sothefast.

34. ദൈവം അയച്ചവന് ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വചനം പ്രസ്താവിക്കുന്നു; അവന് ആത്മാവിനെ അളവുകൂടാതെയല്ലോ കൊടുക്കുന്നതു.

34. But he whom God hath sent, spekith the wordis of God; for not to mesure God yyueth the spirit.

35. പിതാവു പുത്രനെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു; സകലവും അവന്റെ കയ്യില് കൊടുത്തുമിരിക്കുന്നു.

35. The fadir loueth the sone, and he hath youun alle thingis in his hoond.

36. പുത്രനില് വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവന്നു നിത്യജീവന് ഉണ്ടു; പുത്രനെ അനുസരിക്കാത്തവനോ ജീവനെ കാണുകയില്ല; ദൈവക്രോധം അവന്റെമേല് വസിക്കുന്നതേയുള്ള.

36. He that bileueth in the sone, hath euerlastynge lijf; but he that is vnbileueful to the sone, schal not se euerlastynge lijf, but the wraththe of God dwellith on hym.
