1. ജാതികളും ദൈവവചനം കൈകൊണ്ടു എന്നു അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരും യെഹൂദ്യയിലുള്ള സഹോദരന്മാരും കേട്ടു.

1. The apostles and the believers in Judea heard that some who were not Jewish had accepted God's teaching too.

2. പത്രൊസ് യെരൂശലേമില് എത്തിയപ്പോള് പരിച്ഛേദനക്കാര് അവനോടു വാദിച്ചു

2. But when Peter came to Jerusalem, some Jewish believers argued with him.

3. നീ അഗ്രചര്മ്മികളുടെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നു അവരോടുകൂടെ ഭക്ഷിച്ചു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

3. They said, 'You went into the homes of people who are not circumcised and ate with them!'

4. പത്രൊസ് കാര്യം ആദിമുതല് ക്രമമായി അവരോടു വിവരിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞതു

4. So Peter explained the whole story to them.

5. ഞാന് യോപ്പാപട്ടണത്തില് പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോള് വിവശതയില് ഒരുദര്ശനം കണ്ടുആകാശത്തില്നിന്നു നാലു കോണും കെട്ടി ഇറക്കിയ വലിയ തുപ്പട്ടിപോലെ ഒരു പാത്രം എന്റെ അടുക്കലോളം വന്നു.

5. He said, 'I was in the city of Joppa, and while I was praying, I had a vision. I saw something that looked like a big sheet being lowered from heaven by its four corners. It came very close to me.

6. അതില് ഞാന് സൂക്ഷിച്ചുനോക്കിയപ്പോള് ഭൂമിയിലെ നാല്ക്കാലികളെയും കാട്ടുമൃഗങ്ങളെയും ഇഴജാതികളെയും ആകാശത്തിലെ പറവകളെയും കണ്ടു

6. I looked inside it and saw animals, wild beasts, reptiles, and birds.

7. പത്രൊസേ, എഴുന്നേറ്റു അറുത്തു തിന്നുക എന്നു എന്നോടു പറയുന്നോരു ശബ്ദവും കേട്ടു.

7. I heard a voice say to me, 'Get up, Peter. Kill and eat.'

8. അതിന്നു ഞാന് ഒരിക്കലും പാടില്ല, കര്ത്താവേ; മലിനമോ അശുദ്ധമോ ആയതൊന്നും ഒരിക്കലും എന്റെ വായില് ചെന്നിട്ടില്ലല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

8. But I said, 'No, Lord! I have never eaten anything that is unholy or unclean.'

9. ആ ശബ്ദം പിന്നെയും ആകാശത്തില് നിന്നുദൈവം ശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചതു നീ മലിനം എന്നു വിചാരിക്കരുതു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

9. But the voice from heaven spoke again, 'God has made these things clean, so don't call them unholy.'

10. ഇതു മൂന്നു പ്രാവശ്യം ഉണ്ടായി; പിന്നെ എല്ലാം തിരികെ ആകാശത്തിലേക്കു വലിച്ചെടുത്തു.

10. This happened three times. Then the whole thing was taken back to heaven.

11. അപ്പോള് തന്നേ കൈസര്യയില് നിന്നു എന്റെ അടുക്കല് അയച്ചിരുന്ന മൂന്നു പുരുഷന്മാര് ഞങ്ങള് പാര്ത്ത വീട്ടിന്റെ മുമ്പില് നിന്നിരുന്നു;

11. Right then three men who were sent to me from Caesarea came to the house where I was staying.

12. ഒന്നും സംശയിക്കാതെ അവരോടുകൂടെ പോകുവാന് ആത്മാവു എന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചു. ഈ ആറു സഹോദരന്മാരും എന്നോടുകൂടെ പോന്നു; ഞങ്ങള് ആ പുരുഷന്റെ വീട്ടില് ചെന്നു.

12. The Spirit told me to go with them without doubting. These six believers here also went with me, and we entered the house of Cornelius.

13. അവന് തന്റെ വീട്ടില് ഒരു ദൂതന് നിലക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു എന്നും നീ യോപ്പയിലേക്കു ആളയച്ചു പത്രൊസ് എന്നു മറുപേരുള്ള ശിമോനെ വരുത്തുക;

13. He told us about the angel he saw standing in his house. The angel said to him, 'Send some men to Joppa and invite Simon Peter to come.

14. നീയും നിന്റെ ഗൃഹം മുഴുവനും രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുവാനുള്ള വാക്കുകളെ അവന് നിന്നോടു സംസാരിക്കും എന്നു ദൂതന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു എന്നും ഞങ്ങളോടു അറിയിച്ചു.

14. By the words he will say to you, you and all your family will be saved.'

15. ഞാന് സംസാരിച്ചു തുടങ്ങിയപ്പോഴേക്കു പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു ആദിയില് നമ്മുടെമേല് എന്നപോലെ അവരുടെ മേലും വന്നു.

15. When I began my speech, the Holy Spirit came on them just as he came on us at the beginning.

16. അപ്പോള് ഞാന് യോഹന്നാന് വെള്ളംകൊണ്ടു സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിച്ചു; നിങ്ങള്ക്കോ പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവുകൊണ്ടു സ്നാനം ലഭിക്കും എന്നു കര്ത്താവു പറഞ്ഞ വാക്കു ഔര്ത്തു.

16. Then I remembered the words of the Lord. He said, 'John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.'

17. ആകയാല് കര്ത്താവായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവില് വിശ്വസിച്ചവരായ നമുക്കു തന്നതുപോലെ അതേ ദാനത്തെ അവര്ക്കും ദൈവം കൊടുത്തു എങ്കില് ദൈവത്തെ തടുപ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം ഞാന് ആര്?

17. Since God gave them the same gift he gave us who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, how could I stop the work of God?'

18. അവര് ഇതു കേട്ടപ്പോള് മിണ്ടാതിരുന്നുഅങ്ങനെ ആയാല് ദൈവം ജാതികള്ക്കും ജീവപ്രാപ്തിക്കായി മാനസാന്തരം നല്കിയല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു ദൈവത്തെ മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തി.

18. When the Jewish believers heard this, they stopped arguing. They praised God and said, 'So God is allowing even those who are not Jewish to turn to him and live.'

19. സ്തെഫാനൊസ് നിമിത്തം ഉണ്ടായ ഉപദ്രവം ഹേതുവാല് ചിതറിപ്പോയവര് യെഹൂദന്മാരോടല്ലാതെ മറ്റാരോടും വചനം സംസാരിക്കാതെ ഫൊയ്നിക്യാ, കുപ്രൊസ്, അന്ത്യൊക്ക്യ എന്നീ പ്രദേശങ്ങളോളം സഞ്ചരിച്ചു.

19. Many of the believers were scattered when they were persecuted after Stephen was killed. Some of them went as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch telling the message to others, but only to Jews.

20. അവരില് ചിലര് കുപ്രൊസ്കാരും കുറേനക്കാരും ആയിരുന്നു; അവര് അന്ത്യൊക്ക്യയില്എത്തിയശേഷം യവനന്മാരോടും കര്ത്താവായ യേശുവിനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള സുവിശേഷം അറിയിച്ചു.

20. Some of these believers were people from Cyprus and Cyrene. When they came to Antioch, they spoke also to Greeks, telling them the Good News about the Lord Jesus.

21. കര്ത്താവിന്റെ കൈ അവരോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; വലിയൊരു കൂട്ടം വിശ്വസിച്ചു കര്ത്താവിങ്കലേക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞു.

21. The Lord was helping the believers, and a large group of people believed and turned to the Lord.

22. അവരെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള ഈ വര്ത്തമാനം യെരൂശലേമിലെ സഭയുടെ ചെവിയില് എത്തിയപ്പോള് അവര് ബര്ന്നബാസിനെ അന്ത്യൊക്ക്യയോളം പറഞ്ഞയച്ചു.

22. The church in Jerusalem heard about all of this, so they sent Barnabas to Antioch.
