1. നിങ്ങളുടെ സമക്ഷത്തു താഴ്മയുള്ളവന് എന്നും അകലത്തിരിക്കെ നിങ്ങളോടു ധൈര്യ്യപ്പെടുന്നവന് എന്നുമുള്ള പൌലൊസായ ഞാന് ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ സൌമ്യതയും ശാന്തതയും ഔര്പ്പിച്ചു നിങ്ങളെ പ്രബോധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

1. Now I, Paul, myself am pleading with you by the meekness and fairness of Christ; who in presence am lowly among you, but being absent am bold toward you.

2. But I beseech you that when I am present I may not be bold with that confidence by which I figure on being bold against some, who think of us as if we walked according to the flesh.

3. For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.

4. ഞങ്ങളുടെ പോരിന്റെ ആയുധങ്ങളോ ജഡികങ്ങള് അല്ല, കോട്ടകളെ ഇടിപ്പാന് ദൈവസന്നിധിയില് ശക്തിയുള്ളവ തന്നേ.

4. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God for pulling down strongholds,

5. അവയാല് ഞങ്ങള് സങ്കല്പങ്ങളും ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പരിജ്ഞാനത്തിന്നു വിരോധമായി പൊങ്ങുന്ന എല്ലാ ഉയര്ച്ചയും ഇടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു, ഏതു വിചാരത്തെയും ക്രിസ്തുവിനോടുള്ള അനുസരണത്തിന്നായിട്ടു പിടിച്ചടക്കി,

5. casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity unto the obedience of Christ,

6. നിങ്ങളുടെ അനുസരണം തികഞ്ഞു വരുമ്പോള് എല്ലാ അനുസരണക്കേടിന്നും പ്രതികാരം ചെയ്വാന് ഒരുങ്ങിയുമിരിക്കുന്നു. നിങ്ങള് പുറമെയുള്ളതു നോക്കുന്നു.

6. and being ready to avenge all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.

7. താന് ക്രിസ്തുവിന്നുള്ളവന് എന്നു ഒരുത്തന് ഉറച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എങ്കില് അവന് ക്രിസ്തുവിന്നുള്ളവന് എന്നപോലെ ഞങ്ങളും ക്രിസ്തുവിനുള്ളവര് എന്നു അവന് പിന്നെയും നിരൂപിക്കട്ടെ.

7. Do you look at things according to the outward appearance? If anyone is convinced in himself that he is Christ's, let him again consider this in himself, that just as he is Christ's, even so we are Christ's.

8. For even if I should boast somewhat more about our authority, which the Lord gave us for edification and not for your destruction, I shall not be ashamed;

9. ഞാന് ലേഖനങ്ങളെക്കൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളെ പേടിപ്പിക്കുന്നു എന്നു തോന്നരുതു.

9. so that I may not seem to frighten you by letters.

10. അവന്റെ ലേഖനങ്ങള് ഘനവും ഊറ്റവും ഉള്ളവ തന്നേ; ശരീരസന്നിധിയോ ബലഹീനവും വാക്കു നിന്ദ്യവുമത്രേ എന്നു ചിലര് പറയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

10. For his letters, they say, are weighty and powerful, but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech of no account.

11. അകലെയിരിക്കുമ്പോള് ഞങ്ങള് ലേഖനങ്ങളാല് വാക്കില് എങ്ങനെയുള്ളവരോ അരികത്തിരിക്കുമ്പോള് പ്രവൃത്തിയിലും അങ്ങനെയുള്ളവര് തന്നേ എന്നു അങ്ങനത്തവന് നിരൂപിക്കട്ടെ.

11. Let such a person consider this, that what we are in word through letters when we are absent, such we are also in deed when we are present.

12. തങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ ശ്ളാഘിക്കുന്ന ചിലരോടു ഞങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ ചേര്ത്തൊരുമിപ്പാനോ ഉപമിപ്പാനോ തുനിയുന്നില്ല; അവര് തങ്ങളാല് തന്നേ തങ്ങളെ അളക്കുകയും തങ്ങളോടു തന്നേ തങ്ങളെ ഉപമിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു തിരിച്ചറിവുള്ളവരല്ല.

12. For we dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves. But they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.

13. ഞങ്ങളോ അളവില്ലാത്തവണ്ണമല്ല, നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കലോളം എത്തുമാറു ദൈവം ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു അളന്നുതന്ന അതിരിന്റെ അളവിന്നു ഒത്തവണ്ണമത്രേ പ്രശംസിക്കുന്നതു.

13. We, however, will not boast beyond measure, but according to the measure of the rule which God distributed to us; a measure which reaches even unto you.

14. ഞങ്ങള് നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കലോളം എത്താതെ അതിര് കടന്നു പോകുന്നു എന്നല്ല; ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ സുവിശേഷം പ്രസംഗിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു ഞങ്ങള് നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കലോളം വന്നിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.

14. For we are not overextending ourselves (as though not extending to you), for we also came as far as to you with the gospel of Christ;

15. ഞങ്ങള് മറ്റുള്ളവരുടെ പ്രയത്നഫലം കൈവശമാക്കി അളവില്ലാതെ പ്രശംസിക്കുന്നു എന്നുമില്ല. നിങ്ങളുടെ വിശ്വാസം വര്ദ്ധിച്ചാല് ഞങ്ങളുടെ അതിരിന്നകത്തു നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് അത്യന്തം വലുതായ ഫലം പ്രാപിപ്പാനും

15. not boasting of things beyond measure, that is, in other men's labors, but having hope, that as your faith is growing, according to our rule, being greatly enlarged to overflowing,

16. മറ്റൊരുത്തന്റെ അതിരിന്നകത്തു സാധിച്ചതില് പ്രശംസിക്കാതെ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു അപ്പുറത്തുള്ള ദിക്കുകളോളം സുവിശേഷം പ്രസംഗിപ്പാനും ആശിക്കയത്രേ ചെയ്യുന്നു.

16. in order to preach the gospel in the regions beyond you, and not to boast in another's measure of accomplishment.

17. പ്രശംസിക്കുന്നവന് കര്ത്താവില് പ്രശംസിക്കട്ടെ. തന്നെത്താന് പുകഴ്ത്തുന്നവനല്ല കര്ത്താവു പുകഴ്ത്തുന്നവനത്രേ കൊള്ളാകുന്നവന് .

17. But he who glories, let him glory in the Lord.
