1. അവകാശി സര്വ്വത്തിന്നും യജമാനന് എങ്കിലും ശിശുവായിരിക്കുന്നേടത്തോളം ദാസനെക്കാള് ഒട്ടും വിശേഷതയുള്ളവനല്ല,

1. And I say, that the heyre, as long as he is a chylde, differeth nothyng from a seruaut, though he be Lorde of all,

2. പിതാവു നിശ്ചയിച്ച അവധിയോളം രക്ഷകന്മാര്ക്കും ഗൃഹവിചാരകന്മാര്ക്കും കീഴ്പെട്ടവനത്രേ എന്നു ഞാന് പറയുന്നു.

2. But is vnder tuters and gouernours, vntyll the tyme appoynted of the father.

3. അതുപോലെ നാമും ശിശുക്കള് ആയിരുന്നപ്പോള് ലോകത്തിന്റെ ആദി പാഠങ്ങളിന് കീഴ് അടിമപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു.

3. Euen so we, when we were chyldren, were in bondage vnder ye rudimentes of the worlde:

4. എന്നാല് കാലസമ്പൂര്ണ്ണതവന്നപ്പോള് ദൈവം തന്റെ പുത്രനെ സ്ത്രീയില്നിന്നു ജനിച്ചവനായി ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന് കീഴ് ജനിച്ചവനായി നിയോഗിച്ചയച്ചതു

4. But when the fulnesse of the tyme was come, God sent his sonne, made of a woman, and made vnder the lawe,

5. അവന് ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന് കീഴുള്ളവരെ വിലെക്കു വാങ്ങിട്ടു നാം പുത്രത്വം പ്രാപിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്നേ.

5. To redeeme them that were vnder the lawe, that we myght receaue the adoption of chyldren.

6. നിങ്ങള് മക്കള് ആകകൊണ്ടു അബ്ബാ പിതാവേ എന്നു വിളിക്കുന്ന സ്വപുത്രന്റെ ആത്മാവിനെ ദൈവം നമ്മുടെ ഹൃദയങ്ങളില് അയച്ചു.

6. Because ye are sonnes, God hath sent the spirite of his sonne into your heartes, crying, Abba, father.

7. അങ്ങനെ നീ ഇനി ദാസനല്ല പുത്രനത്രെ; പുത്രനെങ്കിലോ ദൈവഹിതത്താല് അവകാശിയും ആകുന്നു.

7. Wherfore thou art no more a seruaunt, but a sonne: If thou be a sonne, thou art also an heire of God, through Christ.

8. എന്നാല് അന്നു നിങ്ങള് ദൈവത്തെ അറിയാതെ സ്വഭാവത്താല് ദൈവങ്ങളല്ലാത്തവര്ക്കും അടിമപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു.

8. Notwithstandyng, when ye knewe not God, ye dyd seruice vnto the which by nature are no Gods.

9. ഇപ്പോഴോ ദൈവത്തെ അറിഞ്ഞും വിശേഷാല് ദൈവം നിങ്ങളെ അറിഞ്ഞുമിരിക്കെ നിങ്ങള് പിന്നെയും ബലഹീനവും ദരിദ്രവുമായ ആദിപാഠങ്ങളിലേക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞു അവേക്കു പുതുതായി അടിമപ്പെടുവാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ?

9. But nowe after that ye haue knowen God, yea, rather are knowen of God, howe turne ye agayne vnto the weake and beggarly rudimentes, whervnto againe ye desire a freshe to be in bondage?

10. നിങ്ങള് ദിവസങ്ങളും മാസങ്ങളും കാലങ്ങളും ആണ്ടുകളും പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നു.

10. Ye obserue dayes, and monethes, and tymes, and yeres.

11. ഞാന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു വേണ്ടി അദ്ധ്വാനിച്ചതു വെറുതെയായി എന്നു ഞാന് ഭയപ്പെടുന്നു.

11. I am in feare of you, lest I haue bestowed on you labour in vayne.

12. സഹോദരന്മാരേ, ഞാന് നിങ്ങളേപ്പോലെ ആകയാല് നിങ്ങളും എന്നെപ്പോലെ ആകുവാന് ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു. നിങ്ങള് എന്നോടു ഒരു അന്യായവും ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ല.

12. Brethren, I besech you be as I [am] for I am as ye are. Ye haue not iniured me at all.

13. ഞാന് ശരീരത്തിലെ ബലഹീനതനിമിത്തം ഒന്നാമതു നിങ്ങളോടു സുവിശേഷം അറിയിപ്പാന് സംഗതിവന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങള് അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

13. Ye knowe howe through infirmitie of the fleshe, I preached the Gospell vnto you at the first:

14. എന്റെ ശരീരസംബന്ധമായി നിങ്ങള്ക്കുണ്ടായ പരീക്ഷനിമിത്തം നിങ്ങള് നിന്ദയോ വെറുപ്പോ കാണിക്കാതെ ദൈവദൂതനെപ്പോലെ , ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിനെപ്പോലെ എന്നെ കൈക്കൊള്കയത്രേ ചെയ്തതു.

14. And my temptation which was in my fleshe, ye dispised not, neither abhorred: but receaued me as an Angel of God, euen as Christe Iesus.

15. നിങ്ങളുടെ ഭാഗ്യപ്രശംസ എവിടെ? കഴിയും എങ്കില് നിങ്ങളുടെ കണ്ണു ചൂന്നെടുത്തു എനിക്കു തരുമായിരുന്നു എന്നതിന്നു ഞാന് സാക്ഷി.

15. What is then your felicitie? For I beare you recorde, that yf it had ben possible, ye woulde haue plucked out your owne eyes, and haue geuen them to me.

16. അങ്ങനെയിരിക്കെ നിങ്ങളോടു സത്യം പറകകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ശത്രുവായിപ്പോയോ?

16. Am I therfore become your enemie, because I tell you the trueth?

17. അവര് നിങ്ങളെക്കറിച്ചു എരിവു കാണിക്കുന്നതു ഗുണത്തിന്നായിട്ടല്ല; നിങ്ങളും അവരെക്കുറിച്ചു എരിവു കാണിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവര് നിങ്ങളെ പുറത്തിട്ടു അടെച്ചുകളവാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കയത്രെ ചെയ്യുന്നതു.

17. They are gelouse ouer you amisse: Yea, they intende to exclude you, that ye shoulde be feruent to them warde.

18. ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോള് മാത്രമല്ല എല്ലായ്പോഴും നല്ല കാര്യത്തില് എരിവു കാണിക്കുന്നതു നന്നു.

18. It is good alwayes to be zelous in a good thyng, and not only when I am present with you

19. ക്രിസ്തു നിങ്ങളില് ഉരുവാകുവോളം ഞാന് പിന്നെയും പ്രസവവേദനപ്പെടുന്നവരായ എന്റെ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളേ,

19. My litle chyldren, of whom I trauayle in birth agayne, vntyll Christe be fashioned in you.

20. ഇന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കല് ഇരുന്നു എന്റെ ശബ്ദം മാറ്റുവന് കഴിഞ്ഞിരുന്നു എങ്കില് കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു; ഞാന് നിങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു വിഷമിക്കുന്നു.

20. But I desire to be present with you nowe, and to chaunge my voyce: for I stande in doubt of you.

21. ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന് കീഴിരിപ്പാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നവരേ, നിങ്ങള് ന്യായപ്രമാണം കേള്ക്കുന്നില്ലയോ?

21. Tell me, ye that desire to be vnder the lawe, do ye not heare the lawe?

22. എന്നോടു പറവിന് . അബ്രാഹാമിന്നു രണ്ടു പുത്രന്മാര് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; ഒരുവന് ദാസി പ്രസവിച്ചവന് , ഒരുവന് സ്വതന്ത്ര പ്രസവിച്ചവന് എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

22. For it is written, that Abraham had two sonnes, the one by a bonde mayde, the other by a free woman:

23. ദാസിയുടെ മകന് ജഡപ്രകാരവും സ്വതന്ത്രയുടെ മകനോ വാഗ്ദത്തത്താലും ജനിച്ചിരുന്നു.

23. But he which was of the bonde woman, was borne after the fleshe: but he which was of the free woman, [was borne] by promise.

24. ഇതു സാദൃശ്യമാകുന്നു. ഈ സ്ത്രീകള് രണ്ടു നിയമങ്ങള് അത്രേ; ഒന്നു സീനായ്മലയില്നിന്നു ഉണ്ടായി അടിമകളെ പ്രസവിക്കുന്നു; അതു ഹാഗര്.

24. Which thynges are spoken by an allegorie. For these are two testamentes: the one from the mount Sina, which gendreth vnto bondage, which is Agar.

25. ഹാഗര് എന്നുതു അറബിദേശത്തു സീനായ്മലയെക്കുറിക്കുന്നു. അതു ഇപ്പോഴത്തെ യെരൂശലേമിനോടു ഒക്കുന്നു; അതു തന്റെ മക്കളോടുകൂടെ അടിമയിലല്ലോ ഇരിക്കുന്നതു.

25. For Agar is the mount Sina in Arabia, and bordreth vpon the citie, which is nowe [called] Hierusalem, and is in bondage with her chyldren.

26. മീതെയുള്ള യെരൂശലേമോ സ്വതന്ത്രയാകുന്നു. അവള് തന്നേ നമ്മുടെ അമ്മ.

26. But Hierusalem which is aboue, is free: which is the mother of vs all.

27. “പ്രസവിക്കാത്ത മച്ചിയേ, ആനന്ദിക്ക; നോവുകിട്ടാത്തവളേ, പൊട്ടി ആര്ക്കുംക; ഏകാകിനിയുടെ മക്കള് ഭര്ത്താവുള്ളവളുടെ മക്കളെക്കാള് അധികം” എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.
യെശയ്യാ 54:1

27. For it is written: Reioyce thou baren, that bearest no chyldren, breake foorth and crye, thou that trauaylest not: For the desolate hath many mo chyldren, then she which hath an husbande.

28. നാമോ സഹോദരന്മാരേ, യിസ്ഹാക്കിനെപ്പോലെ വാഗ്ദത്തത്താല് ജനിച്ച മക്കള് ആകുന്നു.

28. But brethren, we are after Isaac the chyldren of promise.

29. എന്നാല് അന്നു ജഡപ്രകാരം ജനിച്ചവന് ആത്മപ്രകാരം ജനിച്ചവനെ ഉപദ്രവിച്ചതുപോലെ ഇന്നു കാണുന്നു.

29. But as then he that was borne after the fleshe, persecuted hym that was borne after the spirite: euen so is it now.

30. തിരുവെഴുത്തോ എന്തുപറയുന്നു ദാസിയെയും മകനെയും പുറത്താക്കിക്കളക; ദാസിയുടെ മകന് സ്വതന്ത്രയുടെ മകനോടുകൂടെ അവകാശി ആകയില്ല.

30. Neuerthelesse, what saith the scripture? put away the bondwoman and her sonne: For the sonne of the bondwoman, shall not be heire with the sonne of the free woman.

31. അങ്ങനെ സഹോദരന്മാരേ, നാം ദാസിയുടെ മക്കളല്ല സ്വതന്ത്രയുടെ മക്കളത്രേ.

31. So then brethren, we are not chyldren of the bonde woman, but of the free.
