1. നിങ്ങള് നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേക്കു മക്കള് ആകുന്നു; മരിച്ചവന്നു വേണ്ടി നിങ്ങളെ മുറിവേല്പിക്കയോ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു മുന് കഷണ്ടിയുണ്ടാക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യരുതു.
റോമർ 9:4

1. 'You are the people of ADONAI your God. You are not to gash yourselves or shave the hair above your foreheads in mourning for the dead,

2. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേക്കു നീ വിശുദ്ധജനമല്ലോ; ഭൂതലത്തിലുള്ള സകലജാതികളിലും വെച്ചു തനിക്കു സ്വന്തജനമായിരിപ്പാന് യഹോവ നിന്നെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.
തീത്തൊസ് 2:14, 1 പത്രൊസ് 2:9, റോമർ 9:4

2. because you are a people set apart as holy for ADONAI your God. ADONAI your God has chosen you to be his own unique treasure out of all the peoples on the face of the earth.

3. മ്ളേച്ഛമായതൊന്നിനെയും തിന്നരുതു.

3. 'You are not to eat anything disgusting.

4. നിങ്ങള്ക്കു തിന്നാകുന്ന മൃഗങ്ങള് ആവിതു

4. The animals which you may eat are: ox, sheep, goat,

5. കാള, ചെമ്മരിയാടു, കോലാടു, കലമാന് , പുള്ളിമാന് , കടമാന് , കാട്ടാടു, ചെറുമാന് മലയാടു കവരിമാന് .

5. deer, gazelle, roebuck, ibex, antelope, oryx and mountain sheep.

6. മൃഗങ്ങളില് കുളമ്പു പിളര്ന്നതും കുളമ്പു രണ്ടായി പിരിഞ്ഞതും അയവിറക്കുന്നതുമായ മൃഗത്തെ ഒക്കെയും നിങ്ങള്ക്കു തിന്നാം.

6. Any animal that has a separate hoof that is completely divided and also chews the cud, these animals you may eat.

7. എന്നാല് അയവിറക്കുന്നവയിലും കുളമ്പു പിളര്ന്നവയിലും തിന്നരുതാത്തവ ഏവയെന്നാല്ഒട്ടകം, മുയല്, കുഴി മുയല്; അവ അയവിറക്കുന്നു എങ്കിലും കുളമ്പു പിളര്ന്നവയല്ല; അവ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു അശുദ്ധം.

7. But you are not to eat those that only chew the cud or only have a divided hoof. For example, the camel, the hare and the coney are unclean for you because they chew the cud but don't have a separate hoof;

8. പന്നിഅതു കുളമ്പു പിളര്ന്നതെങ്കിലും അയവിറക്കുന്നില്ല; അതു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു അശുദ്ധം ഇവയുടെ മാംസം തിന്നരുതു; പിണം തൊടുകയും അരുതു.

8. while the pig is unclean for you because, although it has a separate hoof, it doesn't chew the cud. You are not to eat meat from these or touch their carcasses.

9. വെള്ളത്തിലുള്ള എല്ലാറ്റിലും ചിറകും ചെതുമ്പലും ഉള്ളതൊക്കെയും നിങ്ങള്ക്കു തിന്നാം.

9. 'Of all that lives in the water, you may eat these: anything in the water that has fins and scales, these you may eat.

10. എന്നാല് ചിറകും ചെതുമ്പലും ഇല്ലാത്തതൊന്നും തിന്നരുതു; അതു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു അശുദ്ധം.

10. But whatever lacks fins and scales you are not to eat; it is unclean for you.

11. ശുദ്ധിയുള്ള സകലപക്ഷികളെയും നിങ്ങള്ക്കു തിന്നാം.

11. 'You may eat any clean bird;

12. പക്ഷികളില് തിന്നരുതാത്തവകടല്റാഞ്ചന് , ചെമ്പരുന്തു, കഴുകന് ,

12. but these you are not to eat: eagles, vultures, ospreys,

13. ചെങ്ങാലിപ്പരുന്തു, ഗൃദ്ധ്രം, അതതുവിധം പരുന്തു

13. kites, any kind of buzzard,

14. അതതുവിധം കാക്ക,

14. any kind of raven,

15. ഒട്ടകപക്ഷി, പുള്ളു, കടല്ക്കാക്ക, അതതുവിധം പ്രാപ്പിടിയന് ,

15. ostriches, screech-owls, seagulls, any kind of hawk,

16. നത്തു, ക്കുമന് മൂങ്ങാ, വേഴാമ്പല്,

16. little owls, great owls, horned owls,

17. കുടുമ്മച്ചാത്തന് , നീര്കാക്ക,

17. pelicans, barn owls, cormorants,

18. പെരുഞാറ, അതതുവിധം കൊകൂ, കുളക്കോഴി, നരിച്ചീര് എന്നിവയാകുന്നു.

18. storks, any kind of heron, hoopoes and bats.

19. ചിറകുള്ള ഇഴജാതിയൊക്കെയും നിങ്ങള്ക്കു അശുദ്ധം; അവയെ തിന്നരുതു.

19. 'All winged swarming creatures are unclean for you; they are not to be eaten;

20. ശുദ്ധിയുള്ള പക്ഷികളെയൊക്കെയും നിങ്ങള്ക്കു തിന്നാം.

20. but all clean flying creatures you may eat.

21. താനേ ചത്ത ഒന്നിനെയും തിന്നരുതു; അതു നിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിലുള്ള പരദേശിക്കു തിന്മാന് കൊടുക്കാംഅല്ലെങ്കില് അന്യജാതിക്കാരന്നു വില്ക്കാം; നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേക്കു നീ വിശുദ്ധജനമല്ലോ. ആട്ടിന് കുട്ടിയെ അതിന്റെ തള്ളയുടെ പാലില് പാകം ചെയ്യരുതു.

21. 'You are not to eat any animal that dies naturally; although you may let a stranger staying with you eat it, or sell it to a foreigner; because you are a holy people for ADONAI your God. 'You are not to boil a young animal in its mother's milk.

22. ആണ്ടുതോറും നിലത്തു വിതെച്ചുണ്ടാകുന്ന എല്ലാവിളവിലും ദശാംശം എടുത്തുവെക്കേണം.

22. 'Every year you must take one tenth of everything your seed produces in the field,

23. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ എല്ലായ്പോഴും ഭയപ്പെടുവാന് പഠിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ തന്റെ നാമം സ്ഥാപിപ്പാന് തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തു നീ നിന്റെ ധാന്യത്തിന്റെയും വീഞ്ഞിന്റെയും എണ്ണയുടെയും ദശാംശവും നിന്റെ ആടുമാടുകളുടെ കടിഞ്ഞൂലുകളെയും അവന്റെ സന്നിധയില്വെച്ചു തിന്നേണം.

23. and eat it in the presence of ADONAI your God. In the place where he chooses to have his name live you will eat the tenth of your grain, new wine and olive oil, and the firstborn of your cattle and sheep, so that you will learn to fear ADONAI your God always.

24. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചിരിക്കുമ്പോള് നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ തന്റെ നാമം സ്ഥാപിപ്പാന് തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലം വളരെ അകലെയും അതുകൊണ്ടുപോകുവാന് കഴിയാതവണ്ണം വഴി അതിദൂരവുമായിരുന്നാല്

24. But if the distance is too great for you, so that you are unable to transport it, because the place where ADONAI chooses to put his name is too far away from you; then, when ADONAI your God prospers you,

25. അതു വിറ്റു പണമാക്കി പണം കയ്യില് എടുത്തു നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോകേണം.

25. you are to convert it into money, take the money with you, go to the place which ADONAI your God will choose,

26. നിന്റെ ഇഷ്ടംപോലെ മാടോ ആടോ വീഞ്ഞോ മദ്യമോ ഇങ്ങനെ നീ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്ന ഏതിനെയും ആ പണം കൊടുത്തു വാങ്ങി നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയില്വെച്ചു തിന്നു നീയും നിന്റെ കുടുംബവും സന്തോഷിക്കേണം.

26. and exchange the money for anything you want- cattle, sheep, wine, other intoxicating liquor, or anything you please- and you are to eat there in the presence of ADONAI your God, and enjoy yourselves, you and your household.

27. നിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിലുള്ള ലേവ്യനെ മറന്നു കളയരുതു; അവന്നു നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ഔഹരിയും അവകാശവും ഇല്ലല്ലോ.

27. 'But don't neglect the [Levi] staying with you, because he has no share or inheritance like yours.

28. മുമ്മൂന്നു ആണ്ടു കൂടുമ്പോള് മൂന്നാം സംവത്സരത്തില് നിനക്കുള്ള വിളവിന്റെ ദശാംശം ഒക്കെയും; വേര്തിരിച്ചു നിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങളില് സംഗ്രഹിക്കേണം.

28. At the end of every three years you are to take all the tenths of your produce from that year and store it in your towns.

29. നീ ചെയ്യുന്ന സകല പ്രവൃത്തിയിലും നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ഔഹരിയും അവകാശവും ഇല്ലാത്ത ലേവ്യനും നിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിലുള്ള പരദേശിയും അനാഥനും വിധവയും വന്നു തിന്നു തൃപ്തരാകേണം.

29. Then the [Levi], because he has no share or inheritance like yours, along with the foreigner, the orphan and the widow living in your towns, will come, eat and be satisfied- so that ADONAI your God will bless you in everything your hands produce.
