1. ലേവ്യരായ പുരോഹിതന്മാര്ക്കും ലേവിഗോത്രത്തിന്നും യിസ്രായേലിനോടുകൂടെ ഔഹരിയും അവകാശവും ഉണ്ടാകരുതു; യഹോവയുടെ ദഹനയാഗങ്ങളും അവന്റെ അവകാശവുംകൊണ്ടു അവര് ഉപജീവനം കഴിക്കേണം.
1 കൊരിന്ത്യർ 9:13

1. The priests the Levites, [even] all the tribe of Levi, shall have no portion nor inheritance with Israel: they shall eat the offerings of Jehovah made by fire, and his inheritance.

2. ആകയാല് അവരുടെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ ഇടയില് അവര്ക്കും അവകാശം ഉണ്ടാകരുതു; യഹോവ അവരോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുപോലെ അവന് തന്നേ അവരുടെ അവകാശം.

2. And they shall have no inheritance among their brethren: Jehovah is their inheritance, as he hath spoken unto them.

3. ജനത്തില്നിന്നു പുരോഹിതന്മാര്ക്കും ചെല്ലേണ്ടുന്ന അവകാശം എന്തെന്നാല്മാടിനെയോ ആടിനെയോ യാഗം കഴിക്കുന്നവന് കൈക്കുറകും കവിള് രണ്ടും ആമാശയവും കൊടുക്കേണം.

3. And this shall be the priests' due from the people, from them that offer a sacrifice, whether it be ox or sheep, that they shall give unto the priest the shoulder, and the two cheeks, and the maw.

4. ധാന്യം, വീഞ്ഞു, എണ്ണ എന്നിവയുടെ ആദ്യഫലവും നിന്റെ ആടുകളെ കത്രിക്കുന്ന ആദ്യരോമവും നീ അവന്നു കൊടുക്കേണം.

4. The first-fruits of thy grain, of thy new wine, and of thine oil, and the first of the fleece of thy sheep, shalt thou give him.

5. യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തില് ശുശ്രൂഷിപ്പാന് എപ്പോഴും നില്ക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്റെ സകലഗോത്രങ്ങളില്നിന്നു അവനെയും പുത്രന്മാരെയും അല്ലോ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നതു.

5. For Jehovah thy God hath chosen him out of all thy tribes, to stand to minister in the name of Jehovah, him and his sons for ever.

6. ഏതു യിസ്രായേല്യപട്ടണത്തിലെങ്കിലും പരദേശിയായി പാര്ത്തിരുന്ന ഒരു ലേവ്യന് അവിടെനിന്നു യഹോവ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തേക്കു വന്നാല്--അവന്നു മനസ്സുപോലെ വരാം--

6. And if a Levite come from any of thy gates out of all Israel, where he sojourneth, and come with all the desire of his soul unto the place which Jehovah shall choose;

7. അവിടെ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയില് നിലക്കുന്ന ലേവ്യരായ തന്റെ സകല സഹോദരന്മാരെയുംപോലെ അവന്നും തന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തില് ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്യാം.

7. then he shall minister in the name of Jehovah his God, as all his brethren the Levites do, who stand there before Jehovah.

8. അവന്റെ പിതൃസ്വത്തു വിറ്റുകിട്ടിയ മുതലിന്നു പുറമെ അവരുടെ ഉപജീവനം സമാംശമായിരിക്കേണം.

8. They shall have like portions to eat, besides that which cometh of the sale of his patrimony.

9. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു തരുന്ന ദേശത്തു എത്തിയശേഷം അവിടത്തെ ജാതികളുടെ മ്ളേച്ഛതകള് നീ പഠിക്കരുതു.

9. When thou art come into the land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.

10. തന്റെ മകനെയോ മകളെയോ അഗ്നിപ്രവേശം ചെയ്യിക്കുന്നവന് , പ്രശ്നക്കാരന് , മുഹൂര്ത്തക്കാരന് , ആഭിചാരകന് , ക്ഷുദ്രക്കാരന് ,

10. There shall not be found with thee any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one that useth divination, one that practiseth augury, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer,

11. മന്ത്രവാദി, വെളിച്ചപ്പാടന് , ലക്ഷണം പറയുന്നവന് , അജ്ഞനക്കാരന് എന്നിങ്ങനെയുള്ളവരെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് കാണരുതു.

11. or a charmer, or a consulter with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer.

12. ഈ കാര്യങ്ങള് ചെയ്യുന്നവനെല്ലാം യഹോവേക്കു വെറുപ്പു ആകുന്നു; ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള മ്ളേച്ഛതകള് നിമിത്തം നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അവരെ നിന്റെ മുമ്പില്നിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളയുന്നു.

12. For whosoever doeth these things is an abomination unto Jehovah: and because of these abominations Jehovah thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

13. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ നീ നിഷ്കളങ്കനായിരിക്കേണം.

13. Thou shalt be perfect with Jehovah thy God.

14. നീ നീക്കിക്കളവാനിരിക്കുന്ന ജാതികള് മുഹൂര്ത്തക്കാരുടെയും പ്രശ്നക്കാരുടെയും വാക്കുകേട്ടു നടന്നു; നീയോ അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്വാന് നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അനുവദിച്ചിട്ടില്ല.

14. For these nations, that thou shalt dispossess, hearken unto them that practise augury, and unto diviners; but as for thee, Jehovah thy God hath not suffered thee so to do.

15. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു എന്നെപ്പോലെ ഒരു പ്രവാചകനെ നിന്റെ മദ്ധ്യേ നിന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ ഇടയില്നിന്നു എഴുന്നേല്പിച്ചുതരും; അവന്റെ വചനം നിങ്ങള് കേള്ക്കേണം.

15. Jehovah thy God will raise up unto thee a prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;

16. ഞാന് മരിക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഇനി എന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ ശബ്ദം കേള്പ്പാനും ഈ മഹത്തായ തീ കാണ്മാനും എനിക്കു ഇടവരരുതേ എന്നിങ്ങനെ ഹോരേബില്വെച്ചു മഹായോഗം കൂടിയ നാളില് നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയോടു നീ അപേക്ഷിച്ചതുപോലെ തന്നേ.

16. according to all that thou desiredst of Jehovah thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of Jehovah my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not.

17. അന്നു യഹോവ എന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു എന്തെന്നാല്അവര് പറഞ്ഞതു ശരി.

17. And Jehovah said unto me, They have well said that which they have spoken.

18. നിന്നെപ്പോലെ ഒരു പ്രവാചകനെ ഞാന് അവര്ക്കും അവരുടെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ ഇടയില്നിന്നു എഴുന്നേല്പിച്ചു എന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ അവന്റെ നാവിന്മേല് ആക്കും; ഞാന് അവനോടു കല്പിക്കുന്നതൊക്കെയും അവന് അവരോടു പറയും.

18. I will raise them up a prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee; and I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.

19. അവന് എന്റെ നാമത്തില് പറയുന്ന എന്റെ വചനങ്ങള് യാതൊരുത്തെനങ്കിലും കേള്ക്കാതിരുന്നാല് അവനോടു ഞാന് ചോദിക്കും.

19. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.

20. എന്നാല് ഒരു പ്രവാചകന് ഞാന് അവനോടു കല്പിക്കാത്ത വചനം എന്റെ നാമത്തില് അഹങ്കാരത്തോടെ പ്രസ്താവിക്കയോ അന്യദൈവങ്ങളുടെ നാമത്തില് സംസാരിക്കയോ ചെയ്താല് ആ പ്രവാചകന് മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കേണം.

20. But the prophet, that shall speak a word presumptuously in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.

21. അതു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യാത്ത വചനം എന്നു ഞങ്ങള് എങ്ങനെ അറിയും എന്നു നിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തില് പറഞ്ഞാല്

21. And if thou say in thy heart, How shall we know the word which Jehovah hath not spoken?

22. ഒരു പ്രവാചകന് യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തില് സംസാരിക്കുന്ന കാര്യം സംഭവിക്കയും ഒത്തുവരികയും ചെയ്യാഞ്ഞാല് അതു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതല്ല; പ്രവാചകന് അതു സ്വയംകൃതമായി സംസാരിച്ചതത്രേ; അവനെ പേടിക്കരുതു.

22. when a prophet speaketh in the name of Jehovah, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which Jehovah hath not spoken: the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously, thou shalt not be afraid of him.
