1. മനുഷ്യര്ക്കും തമ്മില് വ്യവഹാരം ഉണ്ടായിട്ടു അവര് ന്യായാസനത്തിങ്കല് വരികയും അവരുടെ കാര്യം വിസ്തരിക്കയും ചെയ്യുമ്പോള് നീതിമാനെ നീതീകരിക്കയും കുറ്റക്കാരനെ കുറ്റം വിധിക്കയുംവേണം.

1. If there be a controversy between men, and they come unto judgment, that the judges may judge them; then they shall justify the righteous, and condemn the wicked.

2. കുറ്റക്കാരന് അടിക്കു യോഗ്യനാകുന്നു എങ്കില് ന്യായാധിപന് അവനെ നിലത്തു കിടത്തി അവന്റെ കുറ്റത്തിന്നു തക്കവണ്ണം എണ്ണി അടിപ്പിക്കേണം.

2. And it shall be, if the wicked man be worthy to be beaten, that the judge shall cause him to lie down, and to be beaten before his face, according to his fault, by a certain number.

3. നാല്പതു അടി അടിപ്പിക്കാം; അതില് കവിയരുതു; കവിഞ്ഞു അടിപ്പിച്ചാല് സഹോദരന് നിന്റെ കണ്ണിന്നു നിന്ദിതനായ്തീര്ന്നേക്കാം.

3. Forty stripes he may give him, and not exceed: lest, if he should exceed, and beat him above these with many stripes, then thy brother should seem vile unto thee.

4. കാള മെതിക്കുമ്പോള് അതിന്നു മുഖക്കൊട്ട കെട്ടരുതു.

4. Thou shalt not muzzle the ox when he treadeth out the corn.

5. സഹോദരന്മാര് ഒന്നിച്ചു പാര്ക്കുംമ്പോള് അവരില് ഒരുത്തന് മകനില്ലാതെ മരിച്ചുപോയാല് മരിച്ചവന്റെ ഭാര്യ പുറത്തുള്ള ഒരുത്തന്നു ആകരുതു; ഭര്ത്താവിന്റെ സഹോദരന് അവളുടെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നു അവളെ ഭാര്യയായി പരിഗ്രഹിച്ചു അവളോടു ദേവരധര്മ്മം നിവര്ത്തിക്കേണം.

5. If brethren dwell together, and one of them die, and have no child, the wife of the dead shall not marry without unto a stranger: her husbands brother shall go in unto her, and take her to him to wife, and perform the duty of an husbands brother unto her.

6. മരിച്ചുപോയ സഹോദരന്റെ പേര് യിസ്രായേലില് മാഞ്ഞു പോകാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവള് പ്രസവിക്കുന്ന ആദ്യജാതനെ അവന്റെ പേര്ക്കും കണകൂ കൂട്ടേണം.

6. And it shall be, that the firstborn which she beareth shall succeed in the name of his brother which is dead, that his name be not put out of Israel.

7. സഹോദരന്റെ ഭാര്യയെ പരിഗ്രഹിപ്പാന് അവന്നു മനസ്സില്ലെങ്കില് അവള് പട്ടണവാതില്ക്കല് മൂപ്പന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നുഎന്റെ ദേവരന്നു തന്റെ സഹോദരന്റെ പേര് യിസ്രായേലില് നിലനിര്ത്തുവാന് ഇഷ്ടമില്ല; എന്നോടു ദേവര ധര്മ്മം നിവര്ത്തിപ്പാന് അവന്നു മനസ്സില്ല എന്നു പറയേണം.

7. And if the man like not to take his brothers wife, then let his brothers wife go up to the gate unto the elders, and say, My husbands brother refuseth to raise up unto his brother a name in Israel, he will not perform the duty of my husbands brother.

8. അപ്പോള് അവന്റെ പട്ടണത്തിലെ മൂപ്പന്മാര് അവനെ വിളിപ്പിച്ചു അവനോടു സംസാരിക്കേണം; എന്നാല് ഇവളെ പരിഗ്രഹിപ്പാന് എനിക്കു മനസ്സില്ല എന്നു അവന് ഖണ്ഡിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞാല്

8. Then the elders of his city shall call him, and speak unto him: and if he stand to it, and say, I like not to take her;

9. അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്റെ ഭാര്യ മൂപ്പന്മാര് കാണ്കെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നു അവന്റെ കാലില്നിന്നു ചെരിപ്പു അഴിച്ചു അവന്റെ മുഖത്തു തുപ്പിസഹോദരന്റെ വീടു പണിയാത്ത പുരുഷനോടു ഇങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യുമെന്നു പ്രത്യുത്തരം പറയേണം.

9. Then shall his brothers wife come unto him in the presence of the elders, and loose his shoe from off his foot, and spit in his face, and shall answer and say, So shall it be done unto that man that will not build up his brothers house.

10. ചെരിപ്പഴിഞ്ഞവന്റെ കുടുംബം എന്നു യിസ്രായേലില് അവന്റെ കുടുംബത്തിന്നു പേര് പറയും.

10. And his name shall be called in Israel, The house of him that hath his shoe loosed.

11. പുരുഷന്മാര് തമ്മില് അടിപിടിക്കുടുമ്പോള് ഒരുത്തന്റെ ഭാര്യ ഭര്ത്താവിനെ അടിക്കുന്നവന്റെ കയ്യില്നിന്നു വിടുവിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അടുത്തുചെന്നു കൈ നീട്ടി അവന്റെ ഗുപ്താംഗം പിടിച്ചാല്

11. When men strive together one with another, and the wife of the one draweth near for to deliver her husband out of the hand of him that smiteth him, and putteth forth her hand, and taketh him by the secrets:

12. അവളുടെ കൈ വെട്ടിക്കളയേണം; അവളോടു കനിവു തോന്നരുതു.

12. Then thou shalt cut off her hand, thine eye shall not pity her.

13. നിന്റെ സഞ്ചിയില് തൂക്കം ഏറിയതും കുറഞ്ഞതുമായ രണ്ടുതരം പടി ഉണ്ടാകരുതു.

13. Thou shalt not have in thy bag divers weights, a great and a small.

14. നിന്റെ വീട്ടില് മുറുക്കവും ഇളപ്പവുമായ രണ്ടുതരം പറയും ഉണ്ടാകരുതു.

14. Thou shalt not have in thine house divers measures, a great and a small.

15. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു തരുന്ന ദേശത്തു നീ ദീര്ഘായുസ്സോടിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നിന്റെ പടി ഒത്തതും ന്യായമായതുമായിരിക്കേണം; അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ നിന്റെ പറയും ഒത്തതും ന്യായമായതുമായിരിക്കേണം.

15. But thou shalt have a perfect and just weight, a perfect and just measure shalt thou have: that thy days may be lengthened in the land which YHWH thy Elohim giveth thee.

16. ഈ വകയില് അന്യായം ചെയ്യുന്നവനൊക്കെയും നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേക്കു വെറുപ്പു ആകുന്നു.

16. For all that do such things, and all that do unrighteously, are an abomination unto YHWH thy Elohim.

17. നിങ്ങള് മിസ്രയീമില്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു വരുമ്പോള് വഴിയില്വെച്ചു അമാലേക് നിന്നോടു ചെയ്തതു,

17. Remember what Amalek did unto thee by the way, when ye were come forth out of Egypt;

18. അവന് ദൈവത്തെ ഭയപ്പെടാതെ വഴിയില് നിന്റെ നേരെ വന്നു നീ ക്ഷീണിച്ചും തളര്ന്നും ഇരിക്കുമ്പോള് നിന്റെ പിമ്പില് പിന്നണിയിലുള്ള ബലഹീനരെ ഒക്കെയും സംഹരിച്ച കാര്യം തന്നേ ഔര്ത്തുകൊള്ക.

18. How he met thee by the way, and smote the hindmost of thee, even all that were feeble behind thee, when thou wast faint and weary; and he feared not Elohim.

19. ആകയാല് നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു അവകാശമായി അടക്കുവാന് തരുന്ന ദേശത്തു ചുറ്റുമള്ള നിന്റെ സകലശത്രുക്കളെയും നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നീക്കി നിനക്കു സ്വസ്ഥത തന്നിരിക്കുമ്പോള് നീ അമാലേക്കിന്റെ ഔര്മ്മയെ ആകാശത്തിന് കീഴില്നിന്നു മായിച്ചുകളയേണം; ഇതു മറന്നുപോകരുതു.

19. Therefore it shall be, when YHWH thy Elohim hath given thee rest from all thine enemies round about, in the land which YHWH thy Elohim giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it, that thou shalt blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven; thou shalt not forget it.
