1. നിങ്ങള് കൈവശമാക്കുവാന് കടന്നുചെല്ലുന്ന ദേശത്തു നിങ്ങള് അനുസരിച്ചു നടക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും നിന്റെ ജീവകാലം ഒക്കെയും നീയും നിന്റെ മകനും മകന്റെ മകനും ഞാന് നിന്നോടു കല്പിക്കുന്ന നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ എല്ലാചട്ടങ്ങളും കല്പനകളും പ്രമാണിപ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം അവനെ ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടതിന്നും

1. 'These are all the laws that the LORD your God commanded me to teach you. Obey them in the land that you are about to enter and occupy.

2. നീ ദീര്ഘായുസ്സോടിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നുമായി നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഉപദേശിച്ചുതരുവാന് കല്പിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള കല്പനകളും ചട്ടങ്ങളും വിധികളും ഇവ ആകുന്നു.

2. As long as you live, you and your descendants are to honor the LORD your God and obey all his laws that I am giving you, so that you may live in that land a long time.

3. ആകയാല് യിസ്രായേലേ, നിനക്കു നന്നായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുപോലെ പാലും തേനും ഒഴുകുന്ന ദേശത്തു നിങ്ങള് ഏറ്റവും വര്ദ്ധിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും നീ കേട്ടു ജാഗ്രതയോടെ അനുസരിച്ചു നടക്ക.

3. Listen to them, people of Israel, and obey them! Then all will go well with you, and you will become a mighty nation and live in that rich and fertile land, just as the LORD, the God of our ancestors, has promised.

5. Love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.

7. Teach them to your children. Repeat them when you are at home and when you are away, when you are resting and when you are working.

9. Write them on the doorposts of your houses and on your gates.

10. 'Just as the LORD your God promised your ancestors, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, he will give you a land with large and prosperous cities which you did not build.

11. നീ നിറെക്കാതെ സകലസമ്പത്തും നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന വീടുകളും നീ കുഴിക്കാത്ത കിണറുകളും നീ നട്ടുണ്ടാക്കാത്ത മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടങ്ങളും ഒലിവുതോട്ടങ്ങളും നിനക്കു തരികയും നീ തിന്നു തൃപ്തി പ്രാപിക്കയും ചെയ്യുമ്പോള്

11. The houses will be full of good things which you did not put in them, and there will be wells that you did not dig, and vineyards and olive orchards that you did not plant. When the LORD brings you into this land and you have all you want to eat,

12. നിന്നെ അടിമവീടായ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന യഹോവയെ മറക്കാതിരിപ്പാന് സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊള്ക.

12. make certain that you do not forget the LORD who rescued you from Egypt, where you were slaves.

13. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ ഭയപ്പെട്ടു അവനെ സേവിക്കേണം; അവന്റെ നാമത്തില് സത്യം ചെയ്യേണം.

13. Honor the LORD your God, worship only him, and make your promises in his name alone.

14. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ കോപം നിനക്കു വിരോധമായി ജ്വലിച്ചു നിന്നെ ഭൂമിയില്നിന്നു നശിപ്പിക്കാതിരിപ്പാന് ചുറ്റുമിരിക്കുന്ന ജാതികളുടെ ദേവന്മാരായ അന്യ ദൈവങ്ങളുടെ പിന്നാലെ നീ പോകരുതു;

14. Do not worship other gods, any of the gods of the peoples around you.

15. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങളുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ തീക്ഷണതയുള്ള ദൈവം ആകുന്നു.

15. If you do worship other gods, the LORD's anger will come against you like fire and will destroy you completely, because the LORD your God, who is present with you, tolerates no rivals.

16. നിങ്ങള് മസ്സയില്വെച്ചു പരീക്ഷിച്ചതുപോലെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ പരീക്ഷിക്കരുതു.

16. 'Do not put the LORD your God to the test, as you did at Massah.

17. നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള കല്പനകളും സാക്ഷ്യങ്ങളും ചട്ടങ്ങളും നിങ്ങള് ജാഗ്രതയോടെ പ്രമാണിക്കേണം.

17. Be sure that you obey all the laws that he has given you.

18. Do what the LORD says is right and good, and all will go well with you. You will be able to take possession of the fertile land that the LORD promised your ancestors,

19. നിന്റെ സകലശത്രുക്കളെയും നിന്റെ മുമ്പില്നിന്നു ഔടിച്ചുകളയേണ്ടതിന്നും നീ യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ ന്യായവും ഹിതവുമായുള്ളതിനെ ചെയ്യേണം.

19. and you will drive out your enemies, as he promised.

20. നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങളോടു കല്പിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള സാക്ഷ്യങ്ങളും ചട്ടങ്ങളും വിധികളും എന്തു എന്നു നാളെ നിന്റെ മകന് നിന്നോടു ചോദിക്കുമ്പോള് നീ നിന്റെ മകനോടു പറയേണ്ടതു എന്തെന്നാല്

20. 'In times to come your children will ask you, 'Why did the LORD our God command us to obey all these laws?'

21. Then tell them, 'We were slaves of the king of Egypt, and the LORD rescued us by his great power.

22. With our own eyes we saw him work miracles and do terrifying things to the Egyptians and to their king and to all his officials.

23. He freed us from Egypt to bring us here and give us this land, as he had promised our ancestors he would.

24. എല്ലായ്പോഴും നമുക്കു നന്നായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും ഇന്നത്തെപ്പോലെ അവന് നമ്മെ ജീവനോടെ രക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നുമായി നാം നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ ഭയപ്പെടുവാനും ഈ എല്ലാ ചട്ടങ്ങളെയും ആചരിപ്പാനും യഹോവ നമ്മോടു കല്പിച്ചു.

24. Then the LORD our God commanded us to obey all these laws and to honor him. If we do, he will always watch over our nation and keep it prosperous.

25. നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നമ്മോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ നാം അവന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ ഈ സകലകല്പനകളും ആചരിപ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം കാത്തുകൊള്ളുന്നു എങ്കില് നാം നീതിയുള്ളവരായിരിക്കും.

25. If we faithfully obey everything that God has commanded us, he will be pleased with us.'
