1. നിങ്ങള് കൈവശമാക്കുവാന് കടന്നുചെല്ലുന്ന ദേശത്തു നിങ്ങള് അനുസരിച്ചു നടക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും നിന്റെ ജീവകാലം ഒക്കെയും നീയും നിന്റെ മകനും മകന്റെ മകനും ഞാന് നിന്നോടു കല്പിക്കുന്ന നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ എല്ലാചട്ടങ്ങളും കല്പനകളും പ്രമാണിപ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം അവനെ ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടതിന്നും

1. And these [are] the commands, and the statutes, and the judgments, as many as the Lord our God gave commandment, to teach you to do so in the land on which you enter to inherit it.

2. നീ ദീര്ഘായുസ്സോടിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നുമായി നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഉപദേശിച്ചുതരുവാന് കല്പിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള കല്പനകളും ചട്ടങ്ങളും വിധികളും ഇവ ആകുന്നു.

2. That you may fear the Lord your God, and keep all His statutes, and His commandments, which I command you today, you, and your sons, and your sons' sons, all the days of your life, that you may live many days.

3. ആകയാല് യിസ്രായേലേ, നിനക്കു നന്നായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുപോലെ പാലും തേനും ഒഴുകുന്ന ദേശത്തു നിങ്ങള് ഏറ്റവും വര്ദ്ധിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും നീ കേട്ടു ജാഗ്രതയോടെ അനുസരിച്ചു നടക്ക.

3. Therefore hear, O Israel, and observe to do them, that it may be well with you, and that you may be greatly multiplied, as the Lord God of your fathers said that He would give you a land flowing with milk and honey. And these [are] the statutes and the judgments, which the Lord commanded the children of Israel in the wilderness, when they had gone forth from the land of Egypt.

4. യിസ്രായേലേ, കേള്ക്ക; യഹോവ നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമാകുന്നു; യഹോവ ഏകന് തന്നേ.

4. Hear, O Israel, The Lord our God is one Lord.

5. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ നീ പൂര്ണ്ണഹൃദയത്തോടും പൂര്ണ്ണമനസ്സോടും പൂര്ണ്ണശക്തിയോടും കൂടെ സ്നേഹിക്കേണം.

5. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your mind, and with all your soul, and all your strength.

6. ഇന്നു ഞാന് നിന്നോടു കല്പിക്കുന്ന ഈ വചനങ്ങള് നിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തില് ഇരിക്കേണം.

6. And these words, all that I command you this day, shall be in your heart and in your soul.

7. നീ അവയെ നിന്റെ മക്കള്ക്കു ഉപദേശിച്ചുകൊടുക്കയും നീ വീട്ടില് ഇരിക്കുമ്പോഴും വഴി നടക്കുമ്പോഴും കിടക്കുമ്പോഴും എഴുന്നേലക്കുമ്പോഴും അവയെക്കുറിച്ചു സംസാരിക്കയും വേണം.

7. And you shall teach them to your children, and you shall speak of them sitting in the house, and walking by the way, and lying down, and rising up.

8. അവയെ അടയാളമായി നിന്റെ കൈമേല് കെട്ടേണം; അവ നിന്റെ കണ്ണുകള്ക്കു മദ്ധ്യേ പട്ടമായി ഇരിക്കേണം.

8. And you shall fasten them for a sign upon your hand, and it shall be immovable before your eyes.

9. അവയെ നിന്റെ വീട്ടിന്റെ കട്ടിളകളിന് മേലും പടിവാതിലുകളിലും എഴുതേണം.

9. And you shall write them on the lintels of your houses and of your gates.

10. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു തരുമെന്നു അബ്രാഹാം, യിസ്ഹാക്, യാക്കോബ്, എന്ന നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു സത്യം ചെയ്ത ദേശത്തേക്കു നിന്നെ കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു നീ പണിയാത്ത വലുതും നല്ലതുമായ പട്ടണങ്ങളും

10. And it shall come to pass, when the Lord your God has brought you into the land which He swore to your fathers, to Abraham, and to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give you great and beautiful cities which you did not build,

11. നീ നിറെക്കാതെ സകലസമ്പത്തും നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന വീടുകളും നീ കുഴിക്കാത്ത കിണറുകളും നീ നട്ടുണ്ടാക്കാത്ത മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടങ്ങളും ഒലിവുതോട്ടങ്ങളും നിനക്കു തരികയും നീ തിന്നു തൃപ്തി പ്രാപിക്കയും ചെയ്യുമ്പോള്

11. houses full of all good things which you did not fill, wells dug in the rock which you did not dig, vineyards and olive trees which you did not plant, then having eaten and been filled,

12. നിന്നെ അടിമവീടായ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന യഹോവയെ മറക്കാതിരിപ്പാന് സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊള്ക.

12. beware lest you forget the Lord your God that brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

13. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ ഭയപ്പെട്ടു അവനെ സേവിക്കേണം; അവന്റെ നാമത്തില് സത്യം ചെയ്യേണം.

13. You shall fear the Lord your God, and Him only shall you serve; and you shall cleave to Him, and by His name you shall swear.

14. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ കോപം നിനക്കു വിരോധമായി ജ്വലിച്ചു നിന്നെ ഭൂമിയില്നിന്നു നശിപ്പിക്കാതിരിപ്പാന് ചുറ്റുമിരിക്കുന്ന ജാതികളുടെ ദേവന്മാരായ അന്യ ദൈവങ്ങളുടെ പിന്നാലെ നീ പോകരുതു;

14. Go not after other gods, of the gods of the nations round about you,

15. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങളുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ തീക്ഷണതയുള്ള ദൈവം ആകുന്നു.

15. for the Lord your God in the midst of you [is] a jealous God, lest the Lord your God be very angry with you, and destroy you from off the face of the earth.

16. നിങ്ങള് മസ്സയില്വെച്ചു പരീക്ഷിച്ചതുപോലെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ പരീക്ഷിക്കരുതു.

16. You shall not tempt the Lord your God, as you tempted Him in the temptation.

17. നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള കല്പനകളും സാക്ഷ്യങ്ങളും ചട്ടങ്ങളും നിങ്ങള് ജാഗ്രതയോടെ പ്രമാണിക്കേണം.

17. You shall by all means keep the commandments of the Lord your God, the testimonies, and the statutes, which He has commanded you.

18. നിനക്കു നന്നായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും യഹോവ നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു സത്യം ചെയ്ത നല്ലദേശം നീ ചെന്നു കൈവശമാക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുപോലെ

18. And you shall do that which is pleasing and good before the Lord your God, that it may be well with you, and that you may go in and inherit the good land, which the Lord swore to your fathers,

19. നിന്റെ സകലശത്രുക്കളെയും നിന്റെ മുമ്പില്നിന്നു ഔടിച്ചുകളയേണ്ടതിന്നും നീ യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ ന്യായവും ഹിതവുമായുള്ളതിനെ ചെയ്യേണം.

19. to chase all your enemies from before your face, as the Lord said.

20. നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങളോടു കല്പിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള സാക്ഷ്യങ്ങളും ചട്ടങ്ങളും വിധികളും എന്തു എന്നു നാളെ നിന്റെ മകന് നിന്നോടു ചോദിക്കുമ്പോള് നീ നിന്റെ മകനോടു പറയേണ്ടതു എന്തെന്നാല്

20. And it shall come to pass, when your son shall ask you at a future time, saying, What are the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which the Lord our God has commanded us?

21. ഞങ്ങള് മിസ്രയീമില് ഫറവോന്നു അടിമകള് ആയിരുന്നു; എന്നാല് യഹോവ ബലമുള്ള കൈകൊണ്ടു ഞങ്ങളെ മിസ്രയീമില്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചു.

21. Then shall you say to your son, We were slaves to Pharaoh in the land of Egypt, and the Lord brought us forth from there with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm.

22. മിസ്രയീമിന്റെയും ഫറവോന്റെയും അവന്റെ സകലകുടുംബത്തിന്റെയും മേല് ഞങ്ങള് കാണ്കെ യഹോവ മഹത്തും ഉഗ്രവുമായുള്ള അടയാളങ്ങളും അത്ഭുതങ്ങളും പ്രവര്ത്തിച്ചു.

22. And the Lord did great signs and wonders in Egypt, on Pharaoh and on his house before us.

23. ഞങ്ങളേയോ താന് നമ്മുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു സത്യം ചെയ്ത ദേശം തരുവാന് അതില് കൊണ്ടുവന്നാക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവിടെ നിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചു

23. And He brought us out from there to give us this land, which He swore to give to our fathers.

24. എല്ലായ്പോഴും നമുക്കു നന്നായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും ഇന്നത്തെപ്പോലെ അവന് നമ്മെ ജീവനോടെ രക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നുമായി നാം നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ ഭയപ്പെടുവാനും ഈ എല്ലാ ചട്ടങ്ങളെയും ആചരിപ്പാനും യഹോവ നമ്മോടു കല്പിച്ചു.

24. And the Lord commanded us to observe all these ordinances; to fear the Lord our God, that it may be well with us forever, that we may live, as it is this day.

25. നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നമ്മോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ നാം അവന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ ഈ സകലകല്പനകളും ആചരിപ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം കാത്തുകൊള്ളുന്നു എങ്കില് നാം നീതിയുള്ളവരായിരിക്കും.

25. And there shall be mercy to us, if we take heed to keep all these commandments before the Lord our God, as He has commanded us.
