1. ക്രിസ്തുവില് വല്ല പ്രബോധനവും ഉണ്ടെങ്കില്, സ്നേഹത്തിന്റെ വല്ല ആശ്വാസവും ഉണ്ടെങ്കില്, ആത്മാവിന്റെ വല്ല കൂട്ടായ്മയും ഉണ്ടെങ്കില്, വല്ല ആര്ദ്രതയും മനസ്സലിവും ഉണ്ടെങ്കില്,

1. If there is therefore any exhortation in Christ, if any consolation of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any tender mercies and compassions,

2. നിങ്ങള് ഏകമനസ്സുള്ളവരായി ഏകസ്നേഹം പൂണ്ടു ഐകമത്യപ്പെട്ടു ഏകഭാവമുള്ളവരായി ഇങ്ങനെ എന്റെ സന്തോഷം പൂര്ണ്ണമാക്കുവിന് .

2. make full my joy, that ye be of the same mind, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind;

3. ശാഠ്യത്താലോ ദുരഭിമാനത്താലോ ഒന്നും ചെയ്യാതെ താഴ്മയോടെ ഔരോരുത്തന് മറ്റുള്ളവനെ തന്നെക്കാള് ശ്രേഷ്ഠന് എന്നു എണ്ണിക്കൊള്വിന് .

3. [doing] nothing through faction or through vainglory, but in lowliness of mind each counting other better than himself;

4. ഔരോരുത്തന് സ്വന്തഗുണമല്ല മറ്റുള്ളവന്റെ ഗുണവും കൂടെ നോക്കേണം.

4. not looking each of you to his own things, but each of you also to the things of others.

5. ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിലുള്ള ഭാവം തന്നേ നിങ്ങളിലും ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കട്ടെ.

5. Have this mind in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

6. അവന് ദൈവരൂപത്തില് ഇരിക്കെ ദൈവത്തോടുള്ള സമത്വം മുറുകെ പിടിച്ചു കൊള്ളേണം എന്നു

6. who, existing in the form of God, counted not the being on an equality with God a thing to be grasped,

7. വിചാരിക്കാതെ ദാസരൂപം എടുത്തു

7. but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men;

8. മനുഷ്യസാദൃശ്യത്തിലായി തന്നെത്താല് ഒഴിച്ചു വേഷത്തില് മനുഷ്യനായി വിളങ്ങി തന്നെത്താന് താഴ്ത്തി മരണത്തോളം ക്രൂശിലെ മരണത്തോളം തന്നേ, അനുസരണമുള്ളവനായിത്തീര്ന്നു.

8. and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, becoming obedient [even] unto death, yea, the death of the cross.

9. അതുകൊണ്ടു ദൈവവും അവനെ ഏറ്റവും ഉയര്ത്തി സകലനാമത്തിന്നും മേലായ നാമം നല്കി;

9. Wherefore also God highly exalted him, and gave unto him the name which is above every name;

10. അങ്ങനെ യേശുവിന്റെ നാമത്തില് സ്വര്ല്ലോകരുടെയും ഭൂലോകരുടെയും അധോലോകരുടെയും മുഴങ്കാല് ഒക്കെയും മടങ്ങുകയും

10. that in the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of [things] in heaven and [things] on earth and [things] under the earth,

11. എല്ലാ നാവും “യേശുക്രിസ്തു കര്ത്താവു”എന്നു പിതാവായ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മഹത്വത്തിന്നായി ഏറ്റുപറകയും ചെയ്യേണ്ടിവരും.

11. and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

12. So then, my beloved, even as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;

14. വക്രതയും കോട്ടവുമുള്ള തലമുറയുടെ നടുവില് നിങ്ങള് അനിന്ദ്യരും പരമാര്ത്ഥികളും ദൈവത്തിന്റെ നിഷ്കളങ്കമക്കളും ആകേണ്ടതിന്നു എല്ലാം പിറുപിറുപ്പും വാദവും കൂടാതെ ചെയ്വിന് .

14. Do all things without murmurings and questionings:

15. അവരുടെ ഇടയില് നിങ്ങള് ജീവന്റെ വചനം പ്രമാണിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു ലോകത്തില് ജ്യോതിസ്സുകളെപ്പോലെ പ്രകാശിക്കുന്നു.

15. that ye may become blameless and harmless, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom ye are seen as lights in the world,

16. അങ്ങനെ ഞാന് ഔടിയതും അദ്ധ്വാനിച്ചതും വെറുതെയായില്ല എന്നു ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ നാളില് എനിക്കു പ്രശംസ ഉണ്ടാകും.

16. holding forth the word of life; that I may have whereof to glory in the day of Christ, that I did not run in vain neither labor in vain.

17. എന്നാല് നിങ്ങളുടെ വിശ്വാസം എന്ന യാഗം അര്പ്പിക്കുന്ന ശുശ്രൂഷയില് എന്റെ രക്തം ഒഴിക്കേണ്ടിവന്നാലും ഞാന് സന്തോഷിക്കും; നിങ്ങളോടു എല്ലാവരോടുംകൂടെ സന്തോഷിക്കും.

17. Yea, and if I am offered upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy, and rejoice with you all:

18. അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ നിങ്ങളും സന്തോഷിപ്പിന് ; എന്നോടുകൂടെ സന്തോഷിപ്പിന് ;

18. and in the same manner do ye also joy, and rejoice with me.

19. എന്നാല് നിങ്ങളുടെ വസ്തുത അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടു എനിക്കും മനം തണുക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു തിമൊഥെയോസിനെ വേഗത്തില് അങ്ങോട്ടു അയക്കാം എന്നു കര്ത്താവായ യേശുവില് ഞാന് ആശിക്കുന്നു.

19. But I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy shortly unto you, that I also may be of good comfort, when I know your state.

20. നിങ്ങളെ സംബന്ധിച്ചു പരമാര്ത്ഥമായി കരുതുവാന് തുല്യചിത്തനായി എനിക്കു മറ്റാരുമില്ല.

20. For I have no man likeminded, who will care truly for your state.

21. യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ കാര്യമല്ല സ്വന്ത കാര്യമത്രേ എല്ലാവരും നോക്കുന്നു.

21. For they all seek their own, not the things of Jesus Christ.

22. അവനോ മകന് അപ്പന്നു ചെയ്യുന്നതുപോലെ എന്നോടുകൂടെ സുവിശേഷഘോഷണത്തില് സേവചെയ്തു എന്നുള്ള അവന്റെ സിദ്ധത നിങ്ങള് അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

22. But ye know the proof of him, that, as a child [serveth] a father, [so] he served with me in furtherance of the gospel.

23. ആകയാല് എന്റെ കാര്യം എങ്ങനെ ആകും എന്നു അറിഞ്ഞ ഉടനെ ഞാന് അവനെ അയപ്പാന് ആശിക്കുന്നു.

23. Him therefore I hope to send forthwith, so soon as I shall see how it will go with me:

24. ഞാനും വേഗം വരും എന്നു കര്ത്താവില് അശ്രയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

24. but I trust in the Lord that I myself also shall come shortly.

25. എന്നാല് എന്റെ സഹോദരനും കൂട്ടുവേലക്കാരനും സഹഭടനും നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൂതനും എന്റെ ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടിന്നു ശുശ്രൂഷിച്ചവനുമായ എപ്പഫ്രൊദിത്തൊസിനെ നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കല് അയക്കുന്നതു ആവശ്യം എന്നു എനിക്കു തോന്നി.

25. But I counted it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother and fellow-worker and fellow-soldier, and your messenger and minister to my need;

26. അവന് നിങ്ങളെ എല്ലാവരെയും കാണ്മാന് വാഞ്ഛിച്ചും താന് ദീനമായി കിടന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങള് കേട്ടതുകൊണ്ടു വ്യസനിച്ചുമിരുന്നു.

26. since he longed after you all, and was sore troubled, because ye had heard that he was sick:

27. അവന് ദീനം പിടിച്ചു മരിപ്പാറായിരുന്നു സത്യം; എങ്കിലും ദൈവം അവനോടു കരുണചെയ്തു; അവനോടു മാത്രമല്ല, എനിക്കു ദുഃഖത്തിന്മേല് ദുഃഖം വരാതിരിപ്പാന് എന്നോടും കരുണ ചെയ്തു.

27. for indeed he was sick nigh unto death: but God had mercy on him; and not on him only, but on me also, that I might not have sorrow upon sorrow.

28. ആകയാല് നിങ്ങള് അവനെ വീണ്ടും കണ്ടു സന്തോഷിപ്പാനും എനിക്കു ദുഃഖം കുറവാനും ഞാന് അവനെ അധികം ജാഗ്രതയോടെ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

28. I have sent him therefore the more diligently, that, when ye see him again, ye may rejoice, and that I may be the less sorrowful.

29. അവനെ കര്ത്താവില് പൂര്ണ്ണസന്തോഷത്തോടെ കൈക്കൊള്വിന് ; ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ളവരെ ബഹുമാനിപ്പിന് .

29. Receive him therefore in the Lord with all joy; and hold such in honor:

30. എനിക്കു വേണ്ടിയുള്ള നിങ്ങളുടെ ശുശ്രൂഷയുടെ കുറവു തീര്പ്പാനല്ലോ അവന് തന്റെ പ്രാണനെപ്പോലും കരുതാതെ ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ വേലനിമിത്തം മരണത്തോളം ആയ്പോയതു.

30. because for the work of Christ he came nigh unto death, hazarding his life to supply that which was lacking in your service toward me.
