1. നിങ്ങള്ക്കും ലവുദിക്യയിലുള്ളവര്ക്കും ജഡത്തില് എന്റെ മുഖം കണ്ടിട്ടില്ലാത്ത എല്ലാവര്ക്കും വേണ്ടി,

1. For I woulde ye knewe what great fighting I haue for your sakes, and for them of Laodicea, and for as many as haue not seene my person in the flesh,

2. അവര് ക്രിസ്തുവെന്ന ദൈവ മര്മ്മത്തിന്റെ പരിജ്ഞാനവും വിവേകപൂര്ണ്ണതയുടെ സമ്പത്തും പ്രാപിപ്പാന്തക്കവണ്ണം സ്നേഹത്തില് ഏകീഭവിച്ചിട്ടു ഹൃദയങ്ങള്ക്കു ആശ്വാസം ലഭിക്കേണം എന്നുവെച്ചു ഞാന് എത്ര വലിയ പോരാട്ടം കഴിക്കുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങള് അറിവാന് ഞാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു.

2. That their heartes might be comforted, and they knit together in loue, and in all riches of the full assurance of vnderstanding, to know the mysterie of God, euen the Father, and of Christ:

3. അവനില് ജ്ഞാനത്തിന്റെയും പരിജ്ഞാനത്തിന്റെയും നിക്ഷേപങ്ങള് ഒക്കെയും ഗുപ്തമായിട്ടു ഇരിക്കുന്നു.
സദൃശ്യവാക്യങ്ങൾ 2:3-4

3. In whom are hid all the treasures of wisedome and knowledge.

4. വശീകരണവാക്കുകൊണ്ടു ആരും നിങ്ങളെ ചതിക്കാതിരിപ്പാന് ഞാന് ഇതു പറയുന്നു.

4. And this I say, lest any man shoulde beguile you with entising wordes:

5. ഞാന് ശരീരംകൊണ്ടു ദൂരസ്ഥനെങ്കിലും ആത്മാവുകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു കൂടെയുള്ളവനായി നിങ്ങളുടെ ക്രമവും ക്രസ്തുവില് നിങ്ങള്ക്കുള്ള വിശ്വാസത്തിന്റെ സ്ഥിരതയും കണ്ടു സന്തോഷിക്കുന്നു.

5. For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, reioycing and beholding your order, and your stedfast faith in Christ.

6. ആകയാല് നിങ്ങള് കര്ത്താവായ ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിനെ കൈക്കൊണ്ടതുപോലെ അവന്റെ കൂട്ടായ്മയില് നടപ്പിന് ;

6. As ye haue therefore receiued Christ Iesus the Lord, so walke in him,

7. അവനില് വേരൂന്നിയും ആത്മികവര്ദ്ധന പ്രാപിച്ചും നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഉപദേശിച്ചുതന്നതിന്നു ഒത്തവണ്ണം വിശ്വാസത്താല് ഉറെച്ചും സ്തോത്രത്തില് കവിഞ്ഞും ഇരിപ്പിന് .

7. Rooted and built in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye haue bene taught, abouding therein with thankesgiuing.

8. തത്വജ്ഞാനവും വെറും വഞ്ചനയും കൊണ്ടു ആരും നിങ്ങളെ കവര്ന്നുകളായതിരിപ്പാന് സൂക്ഷിപ്പിന് ; അതു മനുഷ്യരുടെ സന്പ്രദായത്തിന്നു ഒത്തവണ്ണം, ലോകത്തിന്റെ ആദ്യ പാഠങ്ങള്ക്കു ഒത്തവണ്ണം അല്ലാതെ ക്രിസ്തുവിന്നു ഒത്തവണ്ണമുള്ളതല്ല.

8. Beware lest there be any man that spoile you through philosophie, and vaine deceit, through the traditions of men, according to the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

9. അവനിലല്ലോ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സര്വ്വ സമ്പൂര്ണ്ണതയും ദേഹരൂപമായി വസിക്കുന്നതു.

9. For in him dwelleth all the fulnesse of the Godhead bodily.

10. എല്ലാവാഴ്ചെക്കും അധികാരത്തിന്നും തലയായ അവനില് നിങ്ങള് പരിപൂര്ണ്ണരായിരിക്കുന്നു.

10. And yee are complete in him, which is the head of all principalitie and power.

11. അവനില് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ പരിച്ഛേദനയാല് ജഡശരീരം ഉരിഞ്ഞുകളഞ്ഞതിനാല് തന്നേ കൈകൊണ്ടല്ലാത്ത പരിച്ഛേദനയും ലഭിച്ചു.

11. In whome also yee are circumcised with circumcision made without handes, by putting off the sinfull body of the flesh, through the circumcision of Christ,

12. സ്നാനത്തില് നിങ്ങള് അവനോടുകൂടെ അടക്കപ്പെടുകയും അവനെ മരിച്ചവരുടെ ഇടയില്നിന്നു ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേല്പിച്ച ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വ്യാപാരശക്തിയിലുള്ള വിശ്വാസത്താല് അവനോടുകൂടെ നിങ്ങളും ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേല്ക്കയും ചെയ്തു.

12. In that yee are buried with him through baptisme, in whome ye are also raised vp together through the faith of the operation of God, which raised him from the dead.

13. അതിക്രമങ്ങളിലും നിങ്ങളുടെ ജഡത്തിന്റെ അഗ്രചര്മ്മത്തിലും മരിച്ചവരായിരുന്ന നിങ്ങളെയും അവന് , അവനോടുകൂടെ ജീവിപ്പിച്ചു;

13. And you which were dead in sinnes, and in the vncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, forgiuing you all your trespasses,

14. അതിക്രമങ്ങള് ഒക്കെയും നമ്മോടു ക്ഷമിച്ച ചട്ടങ്ങളാല് നമുക്കു വിരോധവും പ്രതിക്കുലവുമായിരുന്ന കയ്യെഴുത്തു മായിച്ചു ക്രൂശില് തറെച്ചു നടുവില്നിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു;

14. And putting out the hand writing of ordinances that was against vs, which was contrarie to vs, hee euen tooke it out of the way, and fastened it vpon the crosse,

15. വാഴ്ചകളെയും അധികാരങ്ങളെയും ആയുധവര്ഗ്ഗം വെപ്പിച്ചു ക്രൂശില് അവരുടെമേല് ജയോത്സവം കൊണ്ടാടിഅവരെ പരസ്യമായ കാഴ്ചയാക്കി.

15. And hath spoyled the Principalities, and Powers, and hath made a shew of them openly, and hath triumphed ouer them in the same crosse.

16. അതുകൊണ്ടു ഭക്ഷണപാനങ്ങള് സംബന്ധിച്ചോ പെരുനാള് വാവു ശബ്ബത്ത് എന്നീകാര്യത്തിലോ ആരും നിങ്ങളെ വിധിക്കരുതു.

16. Let no man therefore condemne you in meate and drinke, or in respect of an holy day, or of the newe moone, or of the Sabbath dayes,

17. ഇവ വരുവാനിരുന്നവയുടെ നിഴലത്രേ; ദേഹം എന്നതോ ക്രിസ്തുവിന്നുള്ളതു.

17. Which are but a shadowe of thinges to come: but the body is in Christ.

18. താഴ്മയിലും ദൂതന്മാരെ ആരാധിക്കുന്നതിലും രസിച്ചു സ്വന്തദര്ശനങ്ങളില് പ്രവേശിക്കയും തന്റെ ജഡമനസ്സിനാല് വെറുതെ ചീര്ക്കയും തലയെ മുറുകെ പിടിക്കാതിരിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവന് ആരും നിങ്ങളെ വിരുതു തെറ്റിക്കരുതു.

18. Let no man at his pleasure beare rule ouer you by humblenesse of minde, and worshipping of Angels, aduauncing himselfe in those thinges which hee neuer sawe, rashly puft vp with his fleshly minde,

19. തലയായവനില് നിന്നല്ലോ ശരീരം മുഴുവന് സന്ധികളാലും ഞരമ്പുകളാലും ചൈതന്യം ലഭിച്ചും ഏകീഭവിച്ചും ദൈവികമായ വളര്ച്ചപ്രാപിക്കുന്നു.

19. And holdeth not the head, whereof all the body furnished and knit together by ioyntes and bands, increaseth with the increasing of God.

20. നിങ്ങള് ക്രിസ്തുവിനോടുകൂടെ ലോകത്തിന്റെ ആദ്യപാഠങ്ങള് സംബന്ധിച്ചു മരിച്ചു എങ്കില് ലോകത്തില് ജീവിക്കുന്നവരെപ്പോലെ

20. Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the ordinances of the world, why, as though ye liued in ye world, are ye burdened with traditions?

21. മാനുഷകല്പനകള്ക്കും ഉപദേശങ്ങള്ക്കും അനുസരണമായിപിടിക്കരുതു, രുചിക്കരുതു, തൊടരുതു എന്നുള്ള ചട്ടങ്ങള്ക്കു കീഴ്പെടുന്നതു എന്തു?

21. As, Touch not, Taste not, Handle not.

22. ഇതെല്ലാം ഉപയോഗത്താല് നശിച്ചു പോകുന്നതത്രേ.

22. Which al perish with the vsing, and are after the commandements and doctrines of men.

23. അതു ഒക്കെയും സ്വേച്ഛാരാധനയിലും താഴ്മയിലും ശരീരത്തിന്റെ ഉപേക്ഷയിലും രസിക്കുന്നവര്ക്കും ജ്ഞാനത്തിന്റെ പേരു മാത്രമുള്ളതു; ജഡാഭിലാഷം അടക്കുവാനോ പ്രയോജനമുള്ളതല്ല.

23. Which thinges haue in deede a shewe of wisdome, in voluntarie religion and humblenesse of minde, and in not sparing the body, which are thinges of no valewe, sith they perteine to the filling of the flesh.
