1. നിങ്ങള്ക്കും ലവുദിക്യയിലുള്ളവര്ക്കും ജഡത്തില് എന്റെ മുഖം കണ്ടിട്ടില്ലാത്ത എല്ലാവര്ക്കും വേണ്ടി,

1. For it is my desire to give you news of the great fight I am making for you and for those at Laodicea, and for all who have not seen my face in the flesh;

2. അവര് ക്രിസ്തുവെന്ന ദൈവ മര്മ്മത്തിന്റെ പരിജ്ഞാനവും വിവേകപൂര്ണ്ണതയുടെ സമ്പത്തും പ്രാപിപ്പാന്തക്കവണ്ണം സ്നേഹത്തില് ഏകീഭവിച്ചിട്ടു ഹൃദയങ്ങള്ക്കു ആശ്വാസം ലഭിക്കേണം എന്നുവെച്ചു ഞാന് എത്ര വലിയ പോരാട്ടം കഴിക്കുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങള് അറിവാന് ഞാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു.

2. So that their hearts may be comforted, and that being joined together in love, they may come to the full wealth of the certain knowledge of the secret of God, even Christ,

3. അവനില് ജ്ഞാനത്തിന്റെയും പരിജ്ഞാനത്തിന്റെയും നിക്ഷേപങ്ങള് ഒക്കെയും ഗുപ്തമായിട്ടു ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

3. In whom are all the secret stores of wisdom and knowledge.

4. വശീകരണവാക്കുകൊണ്ടു ആരും നിങ്ങളെ ചതിക്കാതിരിപ്പാന് ഞാന് ഇതു പറയുന്നു.

4. I say this so that you may not be turned away by any deceit of words.

5. ഞാന് ശരീരംകൊണ്ടു ദൂരസ്ഥനെങ്കിലും ആത്മാവുകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു കൂടെയുള്ളവനായി നിങ്ങളുടെ ക്രമവും ക്രസ്തുവില് നിങ്ങള്ക്കുള്ള വിശ്വാസത്തിന്റെ സ്ഥിരതയും കണ്ടു സന്തോഷിക്കുന്നു.

5. For though I am not present in the flesh, still I am with you in the spirit, seeing with joy your order, and your unchanging faith in Christ.

6. ആകയാല് നിങ്ങള് കര്ത്താവായ ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിനെ കൈക്കൊണ്ടതുപോലെ അവന്റെ കൂട്ടായ്മയില് നടപ്പിന് ;

6. As, then, you took Christ Jesus the Lord, so go on in him,

7. അവനില് വേരൂന്നിയും ആത്മികവര്ദ്ധന പ്രാപിച്ചും നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഉപദേശിച്ചുതന്നതിന്നു ഒത്തവണ്ണം വിശ്വാസത്താല് ഉറെച്ചും സ്തോത്രത്തില് കവിഞ്ഞും ഇരിപ്പിന് .

7. Rooted and based together in him, strong in the faith which the teaching gave you, giving praise to God at all times.

8. തത്വജ്ഞാനവും വെറും വഞ്ചനയും കൊണ്ടു ആരും നിങ്ങളെ കവര്ന്നുകളായതിരിപ്പാന് സൂക്ഷിപ്പിന് ; അതു മനുഷ്യരുടെ സന്പ്രദായത്തിന്നു ഒത്തവണ്ണം, ലോകത്തിന്റെ ആദ്യ പാഠങ്ങള്ക്കു ഒത്തവണ്ണം അല്ലാതെ ക്രിസ്തുവിന്നു ഒത്തവണ്ണമുള്ളതല്ല.

8. Take care that no one takes you away by force, through man's wisdom and deceit, going after the beliefs of men and the theories of the world, and not after Christ:

9. അവനിലല്ലോ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സര്വ്വ സമ്പൂര്ണ്ണതയും ദേഹരൂപമായി വസിക്കുന്നതു.

9. For in him all the wealth of God's being has a living form,

10. എല്ലാവാഴ്ചെക്കും അധികാരത്തിന്നും തലയായ അവനില് നിങ്ങള് പരിപൂര്ണ്ണരായിരിക്കുന്നു.

10. And you are complete in him, who is the head of all rule and authority:

11. അവനില് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ പരിച്ഛേദനയാല് ജഡശരീരം ഉരിഞ്ഞുകളഞ്ഞതിനാല് തന്നേ കൈകൊണ്ടല്ലാത്ത പരിച്ഛേദനയും ലഭിച്ചു.

11. In whom you had a circumcision not made with hands, in the putting off of the body of the flesh, in the circumcision of Christ;

12. സ്നാനത്തില് നിങ്ങള് അവനോടുകൂടെ അടക്കപ്പെടുകയും അവനെ മരിച്ചവരുടെ ഇടയില്നിന്നു ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേല്പിച്ച ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വ്യാപാരശക്തിയിലുള്ള വിശ്വാസത്താല് അവനോടുകൂടെ നിങ്ങളും ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേല്ക്കയും ചെയ്തു.

12. Having been put to death with him in baptism, by which you came to life again with him, through faith in the working of God, who made him come back from the dead.

13. അതിക്രമങ്ങളിലും നിങ്ങളുടെ ജഡത്തിന്റെ അഗ്രചര്മ്മത്തിലും മരിച്ചവരായിരുന്ന നിങ്ങളെയും അവന് , അവനോടുകൂടെ ജീവിപ്പിച്ചു;

13. And you, being dead through your sins and the evil condition of your flesh, to you, I say, he gave life together with him, and forgiveness of all our sins;

14. അതിക്രമങ്ങള് ഒക്കെയും നമ്മോടു ക്ഷമിച്ച ചട്ടങ്ങളാല് നമുക്കു വിരോധവും പ്രതിക്കുലവുമായിരുന്ന കയ്യെഴുത്തു മായിച്ചു ക്രൂശില് തറെച്ചു നടുവില്നിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു;

14. Having put an end to the handwriting of the law which was against us, taking it out of the way by nailing it to his cross;

15. വാഴ്ചകളെയും അധികാരങ്ങളെയും ആയുധവര്ഗ്ഗം വെപ്പിച്ചു ക്രൂശില് അവരുടെമേല് ജയോത്സവം കൊണ്ടാടിഅവരെ പരസ്യമായ കാഴ്ചയാക്കി.

15. Having made himself free from the rule of authorities and powers, he put them openly to shame, glorying over them in it.

16. അതുകൊണ്ടു ഭക്ഷണപാനങ്ങള് സംബന്ധിച്ചോ പെരുനാള് വാവു ശബ്ബത്ത് എന്നീകാര്യത്തിലോ ആരും നിങ്ങളെ വിധിക്കരുതു.

16. For this reason let no man be your judge in any question of food or drink or feast days or new moons or Sabbaths:

17. ഇവ വരുവാനിരുന്നവയുടെ നിഴലത്രേ; ദേഹം എന്നതോ ക്രിസ്തുവിന്നുള്ളതു.

17. For these are an image of the things which are to come; but the body is Christ's.

18. താഴ്മയിലും ദൂതന്മാരെ ആരാധിക്കുന്നതിലും രസിച്ചു സ്വന്തദര്ശനങ്ങളില് പ്രവേശിക്കയും തന്റെ ജഡമനസ്സിനാല് വെറുതെ ചീര്ക്കയും തലയെ മുറുകെ പിടിക്കാതിരിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവന് ആരും നിങ്ങളെ വിരുതു തെറ്റിക്കരുതു.

18. Let no man take your reward from you by consciously making little of himself and giving worship to angels; having his thoughts fixed on the things which he has seen, being foolishly lifted up in his natural mind,

19. തലയായവനില് നിന്നല്ലോ ശരീരം മുഴുവന് സന്ധികളാലും ഞരമ്പുകളാലും ചൈതന്യം ലഭിച്ചും ഏകീഭവിച്ചും ദൈവികമായ വളര്ച്ചപ്രാപിക്കുന്നു.

19. And not joined to the Head, from whom all the body, being given strength and kept together through its joins and bands, has its growth with the increase of God.

20. നിങ്ങള് ക്രിസ്തുവിനോടുകൂടെ ലോകത്തിന്റെ ആദ്യപാഠങ്ങള് സംബന്ധിച്ചു മരിച്ചു എങ്കില് ലോകത്തില് ജീവിക്കുന്നവരെപ്പോലെ

20. If you were made free, by your death with Christ, from the rules of the world, why do you put yourselves under the authority of orders

21. മാനുഷകല്പനകള്ക്കും ഉപദേശങ്ങള്ക്കും അനുസരണമായിപിടിക്കരുതു, രുചിക്കരുതു, തൊടരുതു എന്നുള്ള ചട്ടങ്ങള്ക്കു കീഴ്പെടുന്നതു എന്തു?

21. Which say there may be no touching, tasting, or taking in your hands,

22. ഇതെല്ലാം ഉപയോഗത്താല് നശിച്ചു പോകുന്നതത്രേ.

22. (Rules which are all to come to an end with their use) after the orders and teaching of men?

23. അതു ഒക്കെയും സ്വേച്ഛാരാധനയിലും താഴ്മയിലും ശരീരത്തിന്റെ ഉപേക്ഷയിലും രസിക്കുന്നവര്ക്കും ജ്ഞാനത്തിന്റെ പേരു മാത്രമുള്ളതു; ജഡാഭിലാഷം അടക്കുവാനോ പ്രയോജനമുള്ളതല്ല.

23. These things seem to have a sort of wisdom in self-ordered worship and making little of oneself, and being cruel to the body, not honouring it by giving it its natural use.
