1. I, Paul, am writing this letter. I am an apostle of Christ Jesus, just as God our Savior commanded. Christ Jesus also commanded it. We have put our hope in him.

2. Timothy, I am sending you this letter. You are my true son in the faith. May God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord give you grace, mercy and peace.

3. അന്യഥാ ഉപദേശിക്കരുതെന്നും വിശ്വാസം എന്ന ദൈവവ്യവസ്ഥെക്കല്ല തര്ക്കങ്ങള്ക്കു മാത്രം ഉതകുന്ന കെട്ടുകഥകളെയും അന്തമില്ലാത്ത വംശാവലികളെയും ശ്രദ്ധികരുതെന്നും ചിലരോടു ആജ്ഞാപിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു

3. Stay there in Ephesus. That is what I told you to do when I went into Macedonia. I want you to command certain people not to teach things that aren't true.

4. നീ എഫെസൊസില് താമസിക്കേണം എന്നു ഞാന് മക്കെദൊന്യെക്കു പോകുമ്പോള് അപേക്ഷിച്ചതുപോലെ ഇപ്പോഴും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

4. Command them not to spend their time on stories that aren't completely true. They must not waste time on family histories that never end. Things like that cause people to argue instead of doing God's work. His work is done by faith.

5. ആജ്ഞയുടെ ഉദ്ദേശമോശുദ്ധഹൃദയം, നല്ല മനസ്സാക്ഷി, നിര്വ്യാജവിശ്വാസം എന്നിവയാല് ഉളവാകുന്ന സ്നേഹം തന്നേ.

5. Love is the purpose of my command. Love comes from a pure heart. It comes from a good sense of what is right and wrong. It comes from faith that is honest and true.

6. ചിലര് ഇവ വിട്ടുമാറി വൃഥാവാദത്തിലേക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞു

6. Some have wandered away from those teachings. They would rather talk about things that have no meaning.

7. ധര്മ്മോപദേഷ്ടക്കന്മാരായിരിപ്പാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു; തങ്ങള് പറയുന്നതു ഇന്നതു എന്നും സ്ഥാപിക്കുന്നതു ഇന്നതു എന്നും ഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നില്ലതാനും.

7. They want to be teachers of the law. And they are very sure about that law. But they don't know what they are talking about.

8. ന്യായപ്രമാണമോ നീതിമാന്നല്ല, അധര്മ്മികള്, അഭക്തര്, അനുസരണംകെട്ടവര്, പാപികള്, അശുദ്ധര്, ബാഹ്യന്മാര്, പിതൃഹന്താക്കള്, മാതൃഹന്താക്കള്, കുലപാതകര്,

8. We know that the law is good if it is used properly.

9. ദുര്ന്നടപ്പുക്കാര്, പുരുഷമൈഥുനക്കാര്, നരമോഷ്ടാക്കള്, ഭോഷകുപറയുന്നവര്, കള്ളസത്യം ചെയ്യുന്നവര് എന്നീ വകക്കാര്ക്കും പത്ഥ്യോപദേശത്തിന്നു

9. We also know that the law isn't made for godly people. It is made for those who break the law. It is for those who refuse to obey. It is for ungodly and sinful people. It is for those who aren't holy and who don't believe. It is for those who kill their fathers or mothers. It is for murderers.

10. വിപരീതമായ മറ്റു ഏതിന്നും അത്രേ വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതു എന്നു ഗ്രഹിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു അതിനെ ന്യായോചിതമായി ഉപയോഗിച്ചാല് ന്യായപ്രമാണം നല്ലതു തന്നേ എന്നു നാം അറിയുന്നു.

10. It is for those who commit adultery. It is for those who have a twisted view of sex. It is for people who buy and sell slaves. It is for liars. It is for those who give witness to things that aren't true. And it is for anything else that is the opposite of true teaching.

11. ഈ പരിജ്ഞാനം, എങ്കല് ഭരമേല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതായി ധന്യനായ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മഹത്വമുള്ള സുവിശേഷത്തിന്നു അനുസാരമായതു തന്നേ.

11. True teaching agrees with the glorious good news of the blessed God. He trusted me with that good news.

12. എനിക്കു ശക്തി നല്കിയ ക്രിസ്തുയേശു എന്ന നമ്മുടെ കര്ത്താവു എന്നെ വിശ്വസ്തന് എന്നു എണ്ണി ശുശ്രൂഷെക്കു ആക്കിയതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് അവനെ സ്തുതിക്കുന്നു.

12. I am thankful to Christ Jesus our Lord. He has given me strength. I thank him that he considered me faithful. And I thank him for appointing me to serve him.

13. മുമ്പെ ഞാന് ദൂഷകനും ഉപദ്രവിയും നിഷ്ഠൂരനും ആയിരുന്നു; എങ്കിലും അവിശ്വാസത്തില് അറിയാതെ ചെയ്തതാകകൊണ്ടു എനിക്കു കരുണ ലഭിച്ചു.

13. I used to speak evil things against Jesus. I tried to hurt his followers. I really pushed them around. But God showed me mercy anyway. I did those things without knowing any better. I wasn't a believer.

14. നമ്മുടെ കര്ത്താവിന്റെ കൃപ ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിലുള്ള വിശ്വാസത്തോടും സ്നേഹത്തോടുംകൂടെ അത്യന്തം വര്ദ്ധിച്ചുമിരിക്കുന്നു.

14. Our Lord poured out more and more of his grace on me. Along with it came faith and love from Christ Jesus.

15. ക്രിസ്തുയേശു പാപികളെ രക്ഷിപ്പാന് ലോകത്തില് വന്നു എന്നുള്ളതു വിശ്വാസ്യവും എല്ലാവരും അംഗീകരിപ്പാന് യോഗ്യവുമായ വചനം തന്നേ; ആ പാപികളില് ഞാന് ഒന്നാമന് .

15. Here is a saying that you can trust. It should be accepted completely. Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. And I am the worst sinner of all.

16. എന്നിട്ടും യേശുക്രിസ്തു നിത്യ ജീവന്നായിക്കൊണ്ടു തന്നില് വിശ്വസിപ്പാനുള്ളവര്ക്കും ദൃഷ്ടാന്തത്തിന്നായി സകല ദീര്ഘക്ഷമയും ഒന്നാമനായ എന്നില് കാണിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു എനിക്കു കരുണ ലഭിച്ചു.

16. But for that very reason, God showed me mercy. And I am the worst of sinners. He showed me mercy so that Christ Jesus could show that he is very patient. I was an example for those who would come to believe in him. Then they would receive eternal life.

17. നിത്യരാജാവായി അക്ഷയനും അദൃശ്യനുമായ ഏകദൈവത്തിന്നു എന്നെന്നേക്കും ബഹുമാനവും മഹത്വവും. ആമേന് .

17. The eternal King will never die. He can't be seen. He is the only God. Give him honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

18. മകനേ, തിമൊഥെയൊസേ, നിന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു മുമ്പുണ്ടായ പ്രവചനങ്ങള്ക്കു ഒത്തവണ്ണം ഞാന് ഈ ആജ്ഞ നിനക്കു ഏല്പിക്കുന്നു; നീ വിശ്വാസവും നല്ല മനസ്സാക്ഷിയും ഉള്ളവനായി അവയെ അനസരിച്ചു നല്ല യുദ്ധസേവ ചെയ്ക.

18. My son Timothy, I give you these teachings. They are in keeping with the prophecies that were once made about you. By following them, you can fight the good fight.

19. Then you will hold on to faith. You will hold on to a good sense of what is right and wrong. Some have not accepted these teachings. By doing that, they have destroyed their faith. They are like a ship that has sunk.

20. ഹുമനയൊസും അലെക്സന്തരും ഈ കൂട്ടത്തില് ഉള്ളവര് ആകുന്നു; അവര് ദൂഷണം പറയാതിരിപ്പന് പഠിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് അവരെ സാത്താനെ ഏല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

20. Hymenaeus and Alexander are among them. I have handed them over to Satan. That will teach them not to speak evil things against God.
