1. എന്നാല് സകലമനുഷ്യര്ക്കും നാം സര്വ്വഭക്തിയോടും ഘനത്തോടും കൂടെ സാവധാനതയും സ്വസ്ഥതയുമുള്ള ജീവനം കഴിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു

1. I exhort, therefore, first of all, that there be made supplications, prayers, intercessions, thankgivings, in behalf of all men,

2. വിശേഷാല് രാജാക്കന്മാര്ക്കും സകല അധികാരസ്ഥന്മാര്ക്കും വേണ്ടി യാചനയും പ്രാര്ത്ഥനയും പക്ഷവാദവും സ്തോത്രവും ചെയ്യേണം എന്നു ഞാന് സകലത്തിന്നും മുമ്പെ പ്രബോധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

2. In behalf of kings, and all them who are, in eminent station; in order that, an undisturbed, and quiet life, we may lead, in all godliness and gravity:

3. അതു നമ്മുടെ രക്ഷിതാവായ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സന്നിധിയില് നല്ലതും പ്രസാദകരവും ആകുന്നു.

3. This, is comely and acceptable before our Saviour God,

4. അവന് സകലമനുഷ്യരും രക്ഷപ്രാപിപ്പാനും സത്യത്തിന്റെ പരിജ്ഞാനത്തില് എത്തുവാനും ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു.

4. Who willeth, all men, to be saved, and, unto a personal knowledge of truth, to come;

5. ദൈവം ഒരുവനല്ലോ. ദൈവത്തിന്നും മനുഷ്യര്ക്കും മദ്ധ്യസ്ഥനും ഒരുവന്

5. For there is, one, God, one, mediator also, between God and men, a man Christ Jesus:

6. എല്ലാവര്ക്കും വേണ്ടി മറുവിലയായി തന്നെത്താന് കൊടുത്ത മനുഷ്യനായ ക്രിസ്തുയേശു തന്നേ.

6. Who gave himself a ransom in behalf of all, the testimony, in its own fit times:

7. തക്കസമയത്തു അറിയിക്കേണ്ടിയ ഈ സാക്ഷ്യത്തിന്നായി ഞാന് പ്രസംഗിയും അപ്പൊസ്തലനുമായി — ഭോഷ്കല്ല, പരമാര്ത്ഥം തന്നേ പറയുന്നു — ജാതികളെ വിശ്വാസവും സത്യവും ഉപദേശിപ്പാന് നിയമിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

7. Unto which, I, have been appointed proclaimer and apostle Truth I speak, I utter no falsehood a teacher of nations, in faith and truth.

8. ആകയാല് പുരുഷന്മാര് എല്ലാടത്തും കോപവും വാഗ്വാദവും വിട്ടകുന്നു വിശുദ്ധകൈകളെ ഉയര്ത്തി പ്രാര്ത്ഥിക്കേണം എന്നു ഞാന് ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു.

8. I am minded, therefore, that the men in every place be offering prayer, uplifting hands of lovingkindness, apart from anger and disputings;

9. അവ്വണ്ണം സ്ത്രീകളും യോഗ്യമായ വസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ചു ലജ്ജാശീലത്തോടും സുബോധത്തോടുംകൂടെ തങ്ങളെ അലങ്കരിക്കേണം.

9. In the same way, that, the women, in seemly attire, with modesty and sober-mindedness, be adorning themselves, not with plaitings and ornamentation of gold, or with pearls, or with costly apparel,

10. പിന്നിയ തലമുടി, പൊന്നു, മുത്തു, വിലയേറിയ വസ്ത്രം എന്നിവകൊണ്ടല്ല, ദൈവഭക്തിയെ സ്വീകരിക്കുന്ന സ്ത്രീകള്ക്കു ഉചിതമാകുംവണ്ണം സല്പ്രവൃത്തികളെക്കെണ്ടത്രേ അലങ്കരിക്കേണ്ടതു.

10. But, which becometh women promising godliness, through means of good works.

11. സ്ത്രീ മൌനമായിരുന്നു പൂര്ണ്ണാനുസരണത്തോടും കൂടെ പഠിക്കട്ടെ.

11. Let, a woman, in quietness, be learning in all submission;

12. മൌനമായിരിപ്പാന് അല്ലാതെ ഉപദേശിപ്പാനോ പുരുഷന്റെമേല് അധികാരം നടത്തുവാനോ ഞാന് സ്ത്രീയെ അനുവദിക്കുന്നില്ല.

12. But, teaching unto a woman, I do not permit, nor yet to have authority over a man, but to be in quietness;

13. ആദാം ആദ്യം നിര്മ്മിക്കപ്പെട്ടു, പിന്നെ ഹവ്വ;

13. For, Adam, first was formed, then Eve,

14. ആദാം അല്ല, സ്ത്രീ അത്രേ വഞ്ചിക്കപ്പെട്ടു ലംഘനത്തില് അകപ്പെടരുതു.

14. And, Adam, was not deceived, whereas, the woman, having been wholly deceived, hath come to be, in transgression;

15. എന്നാല് വിശ്വാസത്തിലും സ്നേഹത്തിലും വിശുദ്ധീകരണത്തിലും സുബോധത്തോടെ പാര്ക്കുംന്നു എങ്കില് അവള് മക്കളെ പ്രസവിച്ചു രക്ഷ പ്രാപിക്കും

15. She shall be saved, however, through means of the child-bearing, if they abide in faith, and love, and holiness, with sobermindedness. Faithful, the saying.
