1. നീയോ പത്ഥ്യോപദേശത്തിന്നു ചേരുന്നതു പ്രസ്താവിക്ക.

1. But you, explain what kind of behavior goes along with sound teaching.

2. വൃദ്ധന്മാര് നിര്മ്മദവും ഗൌരവവും സുബോധവും ഉള്ളവരും വിശ്വാസത്തിലും സ്നേഹത്തിലും സഹിഷ്ണുതയിലും ആരോഗ്യമുള്ളവരും ആയിരിക്കേണം എന്നും

2. Tell the older men to be serious, sensible, self-controlled and sound in their trust, love and perseverance.

3. വൃദ്ധന്മാരും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ നടപ്പില് പവിത്രയോഗ്യമാരും ഏഷണി പറയാത്തവരും വീഞ്ഞിന്നു അടിമപ്പെടാത്തവരുമായിരിക്കേണം എന്നും

3. Likewise, tell the older women to behave the way people leading a holy life should. They shouldn't be slanderers or slaves to excessive drinking. They should teach what is good,

4. ദൈവവചനം ദുഷിക്കപ്പെടാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു യൌവനക്കാരത്തികളെ ഭര്ത്തൃപ്രിയമാരും

4. thus training the younger women to love their husbands and children,

5. പുത്രപ്രിയമാരും സുബോധവും പാതിവ്രത്യമുള്ളവരും വീട്ടുകാര്യം നോക്കുന്നവരും ദയയുള്ളവരും ഭര്ത്താക്കാന്മാര്ക്കും കീഴ്പെടുന്നവരും ആയിരിപ്പിാന് ശീലിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നന്മ ഉപദേശിക്കുന്നവരായിരിക്കേണം എന്നും പ്രബോധിപ്പിക്ക.

5. to be self-controlled and pure, to take good care of their homes and submit to their husbands. In this way, God's message will not be brought into disgrace.

6. അവ്വണ്ണം യൌവനക്കാരെയും സുബോധമുള്ളവരായിരിപ്പാന് പ്രബോധിപ്പിക്ക.

6. Similarly, urge the young men to be self-controlled,

7. വിരോധി നമ്മെക്കൊണ്ടു ഒരു തിന്മയും പറവാന് വകയില്ലാതെ ലജ്ജിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു സകലത്തിലും നിന്നെത്തന്നേ സല്പ്രവൃത്തികള്ക്കു മാതൃകയാക്കി കാണിക്ക.

7. and in everything set them an example yourself by doing what is good. When you are teaching, have integrity and be serious;

8. ഉപദേശത്തില് നിര്മ്മലതയും ഗൌരവവും ആക്ഷേപിച്ചു കൂടാത്ത പതഥ്യവചനവും ഉള്ളവന് ആയിരിക്ക.

8. let everything you say be so wholesome that an opponent will be put to shame because he will have nothing bad to say about us.

9. ദാസന്മാര് നമ്മുടെ രക്ഷിതാവായ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ഉപദേശത്തെ സകലത്തിലും അലങ്കരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു യജമാനന്മാര്ക്കും കീഴടങ്ങി സകലവിധത്തിലും പ്രസാദം വരുത്തുന്നവരും

9. Tell slaves to submit to their masters in everything, to give satisfaction without talking back

10. എതിര്പറകയോ വഞ്ചിച്ചെടുക്കയോ ചെയ്യാതെ സകലത്തിലും നല്ല വിശ്വസ്തത കാണിക്കുന്നവരുംമായി ഇരിപ്പാന് (കല്പിക്ക).

10. or pilfering. On the contrary, they should demonstrate complete faithfulness always, so that in every way they will make the teaching about God our Deliverer more attractive.

11. സകലമനുഷ്യര്ക്കും രക്ഷാകരമായ ദൈവകൃപ ഉദിച്ചുവല്ലോ;

11. For God's grace, which brings deliverance, has appeared to all people.

12. നാം ഭാഗ്യകരമായ പ്രത്യാശെക്കായിട്ടും മഹാദൈവവും നമ്മുടെ രക്ഷിതാവുമായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ തേജസ്സിന്റെ പ്രത്യക്ഷതെക്കായിട്ടും

12. It teaches us to renounce godlessness and worldly pleasures, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives now, in this age;

13. കാത്തുകൊണ്ടു ഭക്തിയോടും പ്രപഞ്ചമോഹങ്ങളും വര്ജ്ജിച്ചിട്ടു ഈ ലോകത്തില് സുബോധത്തോടും നീതിയോടും ദൈവഭക്തിയോടുംകൂടെ ജീവിച്ചുപോരേണ്ടതിന്നു അതു നമ്മെ ശിക്ഷിച്ചുവളര്ത്തുന്നു.

15. ഇതു പൂര്ണ്ണഗൌരവത്തോടെ പ്രസംഗിക്കയും പ്രബോധിപ്പിക്കയും ശാസിക്കയും ചെയ്ക. ആരും നിന്നെ തുച്ഛീകരിക്കരുതു.
