1. നീയോ പത്ഥ്യോപദേശത്തിന്നു ചേരുന്നതു പ്രസ്താവിക്ക.

1. But you must teach what agrees with sound doctrine.

2. വൃദ്ധന്മാര് നിര്മ്മദവും ഗൌരവവും സുബോധവും ഉള്ളവരും വിശ്വാസത്തിലും സ്നേഹത്തിലും സഹിഷ്ണുതയിലും ആരോഗ്യമുള്ളവരും ആയിരിക്കേണം എന്നും

2. Instruct the older men to be sober, sensible, and self-controlled; to be sound in their faith, love, and endurance.

3. വൃദ്ധന്മാരും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ നടപ്പില് പവിത്രയോഗ്യമാരും ഏഷണി പറയാത്തവരും വീഞ്ഞിന്നു അടിമപ്പെടാത്തവരുമായിരിക്കേണം എന്നും

3. In the same way instruct the older women to behave as women should who live a holy life. They must not be slanderers or slaves to wine. They must teach what is good,

4. ദൈവവചനം ദുഷിക്കപ്പെടാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു യൌവനക്കാരത്തികളെ ഭര്ത്തൃപ്രിയമാരും

4. in order to train the younger women to love their husbands and children,

5. പുത്രപ്രിയമാരും സുബോധവും പാതിവ്രത്യമുള്ളവരും വീട്ടുകാര്യം നോക്കുന്നവരും ദയയുള്ളവരും ഭര്ത്താക്കാന്മാര്ക്കും കീഴ്പെടുന്നവരും ആയിരിപ്പിാന് ശീലിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നന്മ ഉപദേശിക്കുന്നവരായിരിക്കേണം എന്നും പ്രബോധിപ്പിക്ക.

5. to be self-controlled and pure, and to be good housewives who submit themselves to their husbands, so that no one will speak evil of the message that comes from God.

6. അവ്വണ്ണം യൌവനക്കാരെയും സുബോധമുള്ളവരായിരിപ്പാന് പ്രബോധിപ്പിക്ക.

6. In the same way urge the young men to be self-controlled.

7. വിരോധി നമ്മെക്കൊണ്ടു ഒരു തിന്മയും പറവാന് വകയില്ലാതെ ലജ്ജിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു സകലത്തിലും നിന്നെത്തന്നേ സല്പ്രവൃത്തികള്ക്കു മാതൃകയാക്കി കാണിക്ക.

7. In all things you yourself must be an example of good behavior. Be sincere and serious in your teaching.

8. ഉപദേശത്തില് നിര്മ്മലതയും ഗൌരവവും ആക്ഷേപിച്ചു കൂടാത്ത പതഥ്യവചനവും ഉള്ളവന് ആയിരിക്ക.

8. Use sound words that cannot be criticized, so that your enemies may be put to shame by not having anything bad to say about us.

9. ദാസന്മാര് നമ്മുടെ രക്ഷിതാവായ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ഉപദേശത്തെ സകലത്തിലും അലങ്കരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു യജമാനന്മാര്ക്കും കീഴടങ്ങി സകലവിധത്തിലും പ്രസാദം വരുത്തുന്നവരും

9. Slaves are to submit themselves to their masters and please them in all things. They must not talk back to them

10. എതിര്പറകയോ വഞ്ചിച്ചെടുക്കയോ ചെയ്യാതെ സകലത്തിലും നല്ല വിശ്വസ്തത കാണിക്കുന്നവരുംമായി ഇരിപ്പാന് (കല്പിക്ക).

10. or steal from them. Instead, they must show that they are always good and faithful, so as to bring credit to the teaching about God our Savior in all they do.

11. സകലമനുഷ്യര്ക്കും രക്ഷാകരമായ ദൈവകൃപ ഉദിച്ചുവല്ലോ;

11. For God has revealed his grace for the salvation of all people.

12. നാം ഭാഗ്യകരമായ പ്രത്യാശെക്കായിട്ടും മഹാദൈവവും നമ്മുടെ രക്ഷിതാവുമായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ തേജസ്സിന്റെ പ്രത്യക്ഷതെക്കായിട്ടും

12. That grace instructs us to give up ungodly living and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in this world,

13. കാത്തുകൊണ്ടു ഭക്തിയോടും പ്രപഞ്ചമോഹങ്ങളും വര്ജ്ജിച്ചിട്ടു ഈ ലോകത്തില് സുബോധത്തോടും നീതിയോടും ദൈവഭക്തിയോടുംകൂടെ ജീവിച്ചുപോരേണ്ടതിന്നു അതു നമ്മെ ശിക്ഷിച്ചുവളര്ത്തുന്നു.

13. as we wait for the blessed Day we hope for, when the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ will appear.

14. അവന് നമ്മെ സകല അധര്മ്മത്തില്നിന്നും വീണ്ടെടുത്തു സല്പ്രവൃത്തികളില് ശുഷ്കാന്തിയുള്ളോരു സ്വന്തജനമായി തനിക്കു ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്നെത്താന് നമുക്കുവേണ്ടി കൊടുത്തു.

14. He gave himself for us, to rescue us from all wickedness and to make us a pure people who belong to him alone and are eager to do good.

15. ഇതു പൂര്ണ്ണഗൌരവത്തോടെ പ്രസംഗിക്കയും പ്രബോധിപ്പിക്കയും ശാസിക്കയും ചെയ്ക. ആരും നിന്നെ തുച്ഛീകരിക്കരുതു.

15. Teach these things and use your full authority as you encourage and rebuke your hearers. Let none of them look down on you.
