1. നിങ്ങളില് ശണ്ഠയും കലഹവും എവിടെ നിന്നു? നിങ്ങളുടെ അവയവങ്ങളില് പോരാടുന്ന ഭോഗേച്ഛകളില് നിന്നല്ലയോ?

1. What is the source of the wars and the fights among you? Don't they come from the cravings that are at war within you?

2. നിങ്ങള് മോഹിച്ചിട്ടും പ്രാപിക്കുന്നില്ല; നിങ്ങള് കൊല്ലുകയും അസൂയപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്തിട്ടും ഒന്നും സാധിക്കുന്നില്ല; നിങ്ങള് കലഹിക്കയും ശണ്ഠയിടുകയും ചെയ്തിട്ടും യാചിക്കായ്കകൊണ്ടു കിട്ടുന്നില്ല.

2. You desire and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. You do not have because you do not ask.

3. You ask and don't receive because you ask wrongly, so that you may spend it on your desires for pleasure.

4. Adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? So whoever wants to be the world's friend becomes God's enemy.

10. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will exalt you.

11. Don't criticize one another, brothers. He who criticizes a brother or judges his brother criticizes the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge.

12. ന്യായപ്രമാണകര്ത്താവും ന്യായാധിപതിയും ഒരുവനേയുള്ളുരക്ഷിപ്പാനും നശിപ്പിപ്പാനും ശക്തനായവന് തന്നേ; കൂട്ടുകാരനെ വിധിപ്പാന് നീ ആര്?

12. There is one lawgiver and judge who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbor?

16. But as it is, you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.

17. നന്മ ചെയ്വാനറിഞ്ഞിട്ടും ചെയ്യാത്തവന്നു അതു പാപം തന്നേ.

17. So, for the person who knows to do good and doesn't do it, it is a sin.
