1. ആദിമുതലുള്ളതും ഞങ്ങള് കേട്ടതും സ്വന്ത കണ്ണുകൊണ്ടു കണ്ടതും ഞങ്ങള് നോക്കിയതും

1. Christ is the Word of Life. He was from the beginning. We have heard Him and have seen Him with our own eyes. We have looked at Him and put our hands on Him.

2. ഞങ്ങളുടെ കൈ തൊട്ടതും ആയ ജീവന്റെ വചനം സംബന്ധിച്ചു — ജീവന് പ്രത്യക്ഷമായി, ഞങ്ങള് കണ്ടു സാക്ഷീകരിക്കയും പിതാവിനോടുകൂടെയിരുന്നു ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു പ്രത്യക്ഷമായ നിത്യജീവനെ നിങ്ങളോടു അറിയിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു —

2. Christ Who is Life was shown to us. We saw Him. We tell you and preach about the Life that lasts forever. He was with the Father and He has come down to us.

3. ഞങ്ങള് കണ്ടും കേട്ടുമുള്ളതു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഞങ്ങളോടു കൂട്ടായ്മ ഉണ്ടാകേണ്ടതിന്നു നിങ്ങളോടും അറിയിക്കുന്നു. ഞങ്ങളുടെ കൂട്ടായ്മയോ പിതാവിനോടും അവന്റെ പുത്രനായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിനോടും ആകുന്നു.

3. We are preaching what we have heard and seen. We want you to share together with us what we have with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ.

4. നമ്മുടെ സന്തോഷം പൂര്ണ്ണമാകുവാന് ഞങ്ങള് ഇതു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു എഴുതുന്നു.

4. We are writing this to you so our joy may be full.

5. ദൈവം വെളിച്ചം ആകുന്നു; അവനില് ഇരുട്ടു ഒട്ടും ഇല്ല എന്നുള്ളതു ഞങ്ങള് അവനോടു കേട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു അറിയിക്കുന്ന ദൂതാകുന്നു.

5. This is what we heard Him tell us. We are passing it on to you. God is light. There is no darkness in Him.

6. അവനോടു കൂട്ടായ്മ ഉണ്ടു എന്നു പറകയും ഇരുട്ടില് നടക്കയും ചെയ്താല് നാം ഭോഷകു പറയുന്നു; സത്യം പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.

6. If we say we are joined together with Him but live in darkness, we are telling a lie. We are not living the truth.

7. അവന് വെളിച്ചത്തില് ഇരിക്കുന്നതു പോലെ നാം വെളിച്ചത്തില് നടക്കുന്നുവെങ്കില് നമുക്കു തമ്മില് കൂട്ടായ്മ ഉണ്ടു; അവന്റെ പുത്രനായ യേശുവിന്റെ രക്തം സകല പാപവും പോക്കി നമ്മെ ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കുന്നു.

7. If we live in the light as He is in the light, we share what we have in God with each other. And the blood of Jesus Christ, His Son, makes our lives clean from all sin.

8. നമുക്കു പാപം ഇല്ല എന്നു നാം പറയുന്നു എങ്കില് നമ്മെത്തന്നേ വഞ്ചിക്കുന്നു; സത്യം നമ്മില് ഇല്ലാതെയായി.

8. If we say that we have no sin, we lie to ourselves and the truth is not in us.

9. നമ്മുടെ പാപങ്ങളെ ഏറ്റുപറയുന്നു എങ്കില് അവന് നമ്മോടു പാപങ്ങളെ ക്ഷമിച്ചു സകല അനീതിയും പോക്കി നമ്മെ ശുദ്ധീകരിപ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം വിശ്വസ്തനും നീതിമാനും ആകുന്നു.

9. If we tell Him our sins, He is faithful and we can depend on Him to forgive us of our sins. He will make our lives clean from all sin.

10. നാം പാപം ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ല എന്നു പറയുന്നുവെങ്കില് അവനെ അസത്യവാദിയാക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ വചനം നമ്മില് ഇല്ലാതെയായി.

10. If we say we have not sinned, we make God a liar. And His Word is not in our hearts.
