1. അനന്തരം ഹന്നാ പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാല്എന്റെ ഹൃദയം യഹോവയില് ആനന്ദിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ കൊമ്പു യഹോവയാല് ഉയര്ന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ വായ് ശത്രുക്കളുടെ നേരെ വിശാലമാകുന്നു; നിന്റെ രക്ഷയില് ഞാന് സന്തോഷിക്കുന്നു.
ലൂക്കോസ് 1:46-47

1. And Hannah prayeth, and saith: 'My heart hath exulted in Jehovah, My horn hath been high in Jehovah, My mouth hath been large over mine enemies, For I have rejoiced in Thy salvation.

2. യഹോവയെപ്പോലെ പരിശുദ്ധന് ഇല്ല; നീ അല്ലാതെ ഒരുത്തനുമില്ലല്ലോ; നമ്മുടെ ദൈവത്തെപ്പോലെ ഒരു പാറയും ഇല്ല.

2. There is none holy like Jehovah, For there is none save Thee, And there is no rock like our God.

3. ഡംഭിച്ചു ഡംഭിച്ചു ഇനി സംസാരിക്കരുതു; നിങ്ങളുടെ വായില്നിന്നു അഹങ്കാരം പുറപ്പെടരുതു. യഹോവ ജ്ഞാനമുള്ള ദൈവം; അവന് പ്രവൃത്തികളെ തൂക്കിനോക്കുന്നു.

3. Ye multiply not -- ye speak haughtily -- The old saying goeth out from your mouth, For a God of knowledge [is] Jehovah, And by Him actions are weighed.

4. വീരന്മാരുടെ വില്ലു ഒടിഞ്ഞുപോകുന്നു; ഇടറിയവരോ ബലം ധരിക്കുന്നു.

4. Bows of the mighty are broken, And the stumbling have girded on strength.

5. സമ്പന്നര് ആഹാരത്തിന്നായി കൂലിക്കു നിലക്കുന്നു; വിശന്നവര് വിശ്രമം പ്രാപിക്കുന്നു; മച്ചി ഏഴു പ്രസവിക്കുന്നു; പുത്രസമ്പന്നയോ ക്ഷയിച്ചു പോകുന്നു.

5. The satiated for bread hired themselves, And the hungry have ceased. While the barren hath borne seven, And she abounding with sons hath languished.

6. യഹോവ കൊല്ലുകയും ജീവിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. പാതാളത്തില് ഇറക്കുകയും ഉദ്ധരിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു;

6. Jehovah putteth to death, and keepeth alive, He bringeth down to Sheol, and bringeth up.

7. യഹോവ ദാരിദ്ര്യവും ഐശ്വര്യവും നലകുന്നു; അവന് താഴ്ത്തുകയും ഉയര്ത്തുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

7. Jehovah dispossesseth, and He maketh rich, He maketh low, yea, He maketh high.

8. അവന് ദരിദ്രനെ പൊടിയില്നിന്നു നിവിര്ത്തുന്നു; അഗതിയെ കുപ്പയില്നിന്നു ഉയര്ത്തുന്നു; പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരോടുകൂടെ ഇരുത്തുവാനും മഹിമാസനം അവകാശമായി നലകുവാനും തന്നേ. ഭൂധരങ്ങള് യഹോവേക്കുള്ളവ; ഭൂമണ്ഡലത്തെ അവയുടെമേല് വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

8. He raiseth from the dust the poor, From a dunghill He lifteth up the needy, To cause [them] to sit with nobles, Yea, a throne of honour He doth cause them to inherit, For to Jehovah [are] the fixtures of earth, And He setteth on them the habitable world.

9. തന്റെ വിശുദ്ധന്മാരുടെ കാലുകളെ അവന് കാക്കുന്നു; ദുഷ്ടന്മാര് അന്ധകാരത്തില് മിണ്ടാതെയാകുന്നു; സ്വശക്തിയാല് ഒരുത്തനും ജയിക്കയില്ല.

9. The feet of His saints He keepeth, And the wicked in darkness are silent, For not by power doth man become mighty.

10. യഹോവയോടു എതിര്ക്കുംന്നവന് തകര്ന്നുപോകുന്നു; അവന് ആകാശത്തുനിന്നു അവരുടെമേല് ഇടി വെട്ടിക്കുന്നു. യഹോവ ഭൂസീമാവാസികളെ വിധിക്കുന്നു; തന്റെ രാജാവിന്നു ശക്തി കൊടുക്കുന്നു; തന്റെ അഭിഷിക്തന്റെ കൊമ്പു ഉയര്ത്തുന്നു.

10. Jehovah -- broken down are His adversaries, Against them in the heavens He thundereth: Jehovah judgeth the ends of earth, And giveth strength to His king, And exalteth the horn of His anointed.'

11. പിന്നെ എല്ക്കാനാ രാമയില് തന്റെ വീട്ടിലേക്കു പോയി. ബാലന് പുരോഹിതനായ ഏലിയുടെ മുമ്പില് യഹോവേക്കു ശുശ്രൂഷചെയ്തു പോന്നു.

11. And Elkanah goeth to Ramath, unto his house, and the youth hath been serving Jehovah, [in] the presence of Eli the priest;

12. എന്നാല് ഏലിയുടെ പുത്രന്മാര് നീചന്മാരും യഹോവയെ ഔര്ക്കാത്തവരും ആയിരുന്നു.

12. and the sons of Eli [are] sons of worthlessness, they have not known Jehovah.

13. ഈ പുരോഹിതന്മാര് ജനത്തോടു ആചരിച്ച വിധം എങ്ങനെയെന്നാല്വല്ലവരും ഒരു യാഗം കഴിക്കുമ്പോള് മാംസം വേവിക്കുന്ന സമയത്തു പുരോഹിതന്റെ ബാല്യക്കാരന് കയ്യില് മുപ്പല്ലിയുമായി വന്നു

13. And the custom of the priests with the people [is]: any man sacrificing a sacrifice -- then hath the servant of the priest come in when the flesh is boiling, and the hook of three teeth in his hand,

14. കലത്തിലോ ഉരുളിയിലോ കുട്ടകത്തിലോ ചട്ടിയിലോ കുത്തും; മുപ്പല്ലിയില് പിടിച്ചതൊക്കെയും പുരോഹിതന് എടുത്തുകൊള്ളും. ശീലോവില് വരുന്ന എല്ലായിസ്രായേല്യരോടും അവര് അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യും.

14. and hath struck [it] into the pan, or kettle, or caldron, or pot; all that the hook bringeth up doth the priest take for himself; thus they do to all Israel who are coming in, there, in Shiloh.

15. മേദസ്സു ദഹിപ്പിക്കുംമുമ്പെ പുരോഹിതന്റെ ബാല്യക്കാരന് വന്നു യാഗം കഴിക്കുന്നവനോടുപുരോഹിതന്നു വറുപ്പാന് മാംസം തരിക; പച്ചമാംസമല്ലാതെ വേവിച്ചതു അവന് വാങ്ങുകയില്ല എന്നു പറയും.

15. Also before they make perfume with the fat -- then hath the priest's servant come in, and said to the man who is sacrificing, 'Give flesh to roast for the priest, and he doth not take of thee flesh boiled, but raw;'

16. മേദസ്സു ദഹിപ്പിച്ചുകഴിയട്ടെ; അതിന്റെ ശേഷം നീ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നേടത്തോളം എടുത്തുകൊള്ക എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞാല് അവന് അവനോടുഅല്ല, ഇപ്പോള് തന്നേ തരേണം; അല്ലെങ്കില് ഞാന് ബലാല്ക്കാരേണ എടുക്കും എന്നു പറയും.

16. and the man saith unto him, 'Let them surely make a perfume (as to-day) with the fat, then take to thee as thy soul desireth;' and he hath said to him, 'Surely now thou dost give; and if not -- I have taken by strength.'

17. ഇങ്ങനെ ആ യൌവനക്കാര് യഹോവയുടെ വഴിപാടു നിന്ദിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു അവരുടെ പാപം യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയില് ഏറ്റവും വലിയതായിരുന്നു.

17. And the sin of the young men is very great [in] the presence of Jehovah, for the men have despised the offering of Jehovah.

18. ശമൂവേല് എന്ന ബാലനോ പഞ്ഞിനൂല്കൊണ്ടുള്ള അങ്കി ധരിച്ചു യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയില് ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്തുപോന്നു.

18. And Samuel is ministering [in] the presence of Jehovah, a youth girt [with] an ephod of linen;

19. അവന്റെ അമ്മ ആണ്ടുതോറും ഒരു ചെറിയ അങ്കി ഉണ്ടാക്കി തന്റെ ഭര്ത്താവിനോടുകൂടെ വര്ഷാന്തരയാഗം കഴിപ്പാന് വരുമ്പോള് അവന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു കൊടുക്കും.

19. and a small upper coat doth his mother make to him, and she hath brought it up to him from time to time, in her coming up with her husband to sacrifice the sacrifice of the time.

20. എന്നാല് ഏലി എല്ക്കാനയെയും അവന്റെ ഭാര്യയെയും അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു; ഈ സ്ത്രീ യഹോവേക്കു കഴിച്ച നീവേദ്യത്തിന്നു പകരം യഹോവ അവളില് നിന്നു നിനക്കു സന്തതിയെ നലകുമാറാകട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. പിന്നെ അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ വീട്ടിലേക്കു പോയി.

20. And Eli blessed Elkanah, and his wife, and said, 'Jehovah doth appoint for thee seed of this woman, for the petition which she asked for Jehovah;' and they have gone to their place.

21. യഹോവ ഹന്നയെ കടാക്ഷിച്ചു; അവള് ഗര്ഭംധരിച്ചു മൂന്നു പുത്രന്മാരെയും രണ്ടു പുത്രിമാരെയും പ്രസവിച്ചു. ശമൂവേല്ബാലനോ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയില് വളര്ന്നുവന്നു.

21. When Jehovah hath looked after Hannah, then she conceiveth and beareth three sons and two daughters; and the youth Samuel groweth up with Jehovah.

22. ഏലി വൃദ്ധനായാറെ അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര് എല്ലായിസ്രായേലിനോടും ചെയ്യുന്നതൊക്കെയും സമാഗമനക്കുടാരത്തിന്റെ വാതില്ക്കല് സേവ ചെയ്യുന്ന സ്ത്രീകളോടുകൂടെ ശയിക്കുന്നതും അവന് കേട്ടു.

22. And Eli [is] very old, and hath heard all that his sons do to all Israel, and how that they lie with the women who are assembling [at] the opening of the tent of meeting,

23. അവന് അവരോടുനിങ്ങള് ഈവക ചെയ്യുന്നതു എന്തു? നിങ്ങളുടെ ദുഷ്പ്രവൃത്തികളെക്കുറിച്ചു ഈ ജനമൊക്കെയും പറഞ്ഞു ഞാന് കേള്ക്കുന്നു.

23. and he saith to them, 'Why do ye things like these? for I am hearing of your evil words from all the people -- these!

24. അങ്ങനെ അരുതു, എന്റെ മക്കളേ, യഹോവയുടെ ജനം നിങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു പരത്തുന്നതായി ഞാന് കേള്ക്കുന്ന കേള്വി നന്നല്ല.

24. Nay, my sons; for the report which I am hearing is not good causing the people of Jehovah to transgress. --

25. മനുഷ്യന് മനുഷ്യനോടു പാപം ചെയ്താല് അവന്നു വേണ്ടി ദൈവത്തോടു അപേക്ഷിക്കാം; മനുഷ്യന് യഹോവയോടു പാപം ചെയ്താലോ അവന്നു വേണ്ടി ആര് അപേക്ഷിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. എങ്കിലും അവരെ കൊല്ലുവാന് യഹോവ നിശ്ചയിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു അവര് അപ്പന്റെ വാക്കു കൂട്ടാക്കിയില്ല.

25. If a man sin against a man, then hath God judged him; but if against Jehovah a man sin, who doth pray for him?' and they hearken not to the voice of their father, though Jehovah hath delighted to put them to death.

26. ശമൂവേല്ബാലനോ വളരുന്തോറും യഹോവേക്കും മനുഷ്യര്ക്കും പ്രീതിയുള്ളവനായി വളര്ന്നു.

26. And the youth Samuel is going on and growing up, and [is] good both with Jehovah, and also with men.

27. അനന്തരം ഒരു ദൈവപുരുഷന് ഏലിയുടെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞതുയഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുനിന്റെ പിതൃഭവനം മിസ്രയീമില് ഫറവോന്റെ ഗൃഹത്തിന്നു അടിമകളായിരുന്നപ്പോള് ഞാന് അവര്ക്കും വെളിപ്പെട്ടു നിശ്ചയം.

27. And there cometh a man of God unto Eli, and saith unto him, 'Thus said Jehovah, Was I really revealed unto the house of thy father in their being in Egypt, before Pharaoh's house,

28. എന്റെ യാഗപീഠത്തിന്മേല് കയറുവാനും ധൂപം കാട്ടുവാനും എന്റെ സന്നിധിയില് ഏഫോദ് ധരിപ്പാനും ഞാന് അവനെ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ സകലഗോത്രത്തില്നിന്നും എനിക്കു പുരോഹിതനായി തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു; യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളുടെ സകലദഹനയാഗങ്ങളെയും ഞാന് നിന്റെ പിതൃഭവനത്തിന്നു കൊടുത്തു.

28. even to choose him out of all the tribes of Israel to Me for a priest, to go up on Mine altar, to make a perfume, to bear an ephod before Me, and I give to the house of thy father all the fire-offerings of the sons of Israel?

29. തിരുനിവാസത്തില് അര്പ്പിപ്പാന് ഞാന് കല്പിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള എന്റെ യാഗവും വഴിപാടും നിങ്ങള് ചവിട്ടുകയും എന്റെ ജനമായ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ എല്ലാവഴിപാടുകളിലും പ്രധാനഭാഗംകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ കൊഴുപ്പിപ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം നീ നിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരെ എന്നെക്കാള് ബഹുമാനിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നതു എന്തു?

29. Why do ye kick at My sacrifice, and at Mine offering which I commanded [in] My habitation, and dost honour thy sons above Me, to make yourselves fat from the first part of every offering of Israel, of My people?

30. ആകയാല് യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുനിന്റെ ഭവനവും നിന്റെ പിതൃഭവനവും എന്റെ സന്നിധിയില് നിത്യം പരിചരിക്കുമെന്നു ഞാന് കല്പിച്ചിരുന്നു നിശ്ചയം; ഇപ്പോഴോ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നതുഅങ്ങനെ ഒരിക്കലും ആകയില്ല; എന്നെ മാനിക്കുന്നവരെ ഞാന് മാനിക്കും; എന്നെ നിന്ദിക്കുന്നവര് നിന്ദിതരാകും.

30. 'Therefore -- the affirmation of Jehovah, God of Israel -- I certainly said, Thy house and the house of thy father, do walk up and down before Me to the age; and now -- the affirmation of Jehovah -- Far be it from Me! for he who is honouring Me, I honour, and those despising Me, are lightly esteemed.

31. നിന്റെ ഭവനത്തില് ഒരു വൃദ്ധനും ഉണ്ടാകാതവണ്ണം ഞാന് നിന്റെ ഭുജവും നിന്റെ പിതൃഭവനത്തിന്റെ ഭുജവും തകര്ത്തുകളയുന്ന നാളുകള് ഇതാ വരുന്നു.

31. 'Lo, days [are] coming, and I have cut off thine arm, and the arm of the house of thy father, that an old man is not in thy house;

32. യിസ്രായേലിന്നു ലഭിപ്പാനുള്ള എല്ലാനന്മകളുടെയും മദ്ധ്യേ നീ തിരുനിവാസത്തില് ഒരു പ്രതിയോഗിയെ കാണും; നിന്റെ ഭവനത്തില് ഒരുനാളും ഒരു വൃദ്ധന് ഉണ്ടാകയുമില്ല.

32. and thou hast beheld an adversary [in My] habitation, in all that He doth good with Israel, and there is not an old man in thy house all the days.

33. നിന്റെ കണ്ണു ക്ഷയിപ്പിപ്പാനും നിന്റെ ഹൃദയം വ്യസനിപ്പിപ്പാനും ഞാന് നിന്റെ ഭവനത്തില് ഒരുത്തനെ എന്റെ യാഗപീഠത്തില് നിന്നു ഛേദിച്ചുകളയാതെ വെച്ചേക്കും; നിന്റെ ഭവനത്തിലെ സന്താനമൊക്കെയും പുരുഷപ്രായത്തില് മരിക്കും.

33. 'And the man I cut not off of thine from Mine altar, [is] to consume thine eyes, and to grieve thy soul; and all the increase of thy house do die men;

34. നിന്റെ രണ്ടു പുത്രന്മാരായ ഹൊഫ്നിക്കും ഫീനെഹാസിന്നും ഭവിപ്പാനിരിക്കുന്നതു നിനക്കു ഒരു അടയാളം ആകും; അവര് ഇരുവരും ഒരു ദിവസത്തില് തന്നേ മരിക്കും.

34. and this [is] to thee the sign that cometh unto thy two sons, unto Hophni and Phinehas -- in one day they die both of them;

35. എന്നാല് എന്റെ പ്രസാദവും ഹിതവും അനുഷ്ഠിക്കുന്ന ഒരു വിശ്വസ്തപുരോഹിതനെ ഞാന് എനിക്കു എഴുന്നേല്പിക്കും; അവന്നു ഞാന് സ്ഥിരമായോരു ഭവനം പണിയും; അവന് എന്റെ അഭിഷിക്തന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ നിത്യം പരിചരിക്കും.

35. and I have raised up for Me a stedfast priest; as in My heart and in My soul he doth do; and I have built for him a stedfast house, and he hath walked up and down before Mine anointed all the days;

36. നിന്റെ ഭവനത്തില് ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവനെല്ലാം അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു ഒരു വെള്ളിക്കാശിന്നും ഒരു അപ്പത്തിന്നുമായിട്ടു അവനെ കുമ്പിട്ടുഒരു കഷണം അപ്പം തിന്മാന് ഇടവരേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്നെ ഒരു പുരോഹിതന്റെ വേലെക്കാക്കേണമേ എന്നു അപേക്ഷിക്കും.

36. and it hath been, every one who is left in thy house doth come in to bow himself to him, for a wage of silver, and a cake of bread, and hath said, Admit me, I pray thee, unto one of the priest's offices, to eat a morsel of bread.'
