1. അനന്തരം ദാവീദ് ഫെലിസ്ത്യരെ ജയിച്ചടക്കി, മൂലസ്ഥാനത്തിന്റെ ഭരണം ഫെലിസ്ത്യരുടെ കയ്യില്നിന്നു കരസ്ഥമാക്കി.

1. After that, David beat the Philistines and subdued them and took the bridle of bondage out of their hands.

2. അവന് മോവാബ്യരെയും തോല്പിച്ചു അവരെ നിലത്തു കിടത്തി ചരടുകൊണ്ടു അളന്നു; കൊല്ലുവാന് രണ്ടു ചരടും ജീവനോടെ രക്ഷിപ്പാന് ഒരു ചരടുമായി അവന് അളന്നു. അങ്ങനെ മോവാബ്യര് ദാവീദിന്നു ദാസന്മാരായി കപ്പം കൊടുത്തുവന്നു.

2. And he beat the Moabites and measured them with a line, making them lie along the earth, and then meeting the length of two lines to slay, and the length of one line to save a life. And so became the Moabites David's servants and paid tribute.

3. രെഹോബിന്റെ മകനായി സോബരാജാവായ ഹദദേസെര് നദീതീരത്തുള്ള തന്റെ ആധിപത്യം യഥാസ്ഥാനപ്പെടുത്തുവാന് പോയപ്പോള് ദാവീദ് അവനെ തോല്പിച്ചു.

3. David smote also Adadezer the son of Rehob king of Zobah as he went to make the end of his coasts at the river Euphrates.

4. അവന്റെ വക ആയിരത്തെഴുനൂറു കുതിരച്ചേവകരെയും ഇരുപതിനായിരം കാലാളുകളെയും ദാവീദ് പിടിച്ചു; രഥകൂതിരകളില് നൂറു മാത്രംവെച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു ശേഷം കുതിരകളെ ഒക്കെയും കുതിഞരമ്പു വെട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞു.

4. And David took a thousand and seven hundredth horsemen of his, and twenty thousand footmen and destroyed all his chariots reserving one hundredth of them.

5. സോബരാജാവായ ഹദദേസെരിനെ സഹായിപ്പാന് ദമ്മേശെക്കിനോടു ചേര്ന്ന അരാമ്യര് വന്നപ്പോള് ദാവീദ് അരാമ്യരില് ഇരുപത്തീരായിരംപേരെ സംഹരിച്ചു.

5. Then came the Sirians of Damasco to succour Adadezer king of Zobah. And David slew of them two and twenty thousand men and put soldiers in Siria Damasco.

6. പിന്നെ ദാവീദ് ദമ്മേശെക്കിനോടു ചേര്ന്ന അരാമില് കാവല്പട്ടാളങ്ങളെ പാര്പ്പിച്ചു; അരാമ്യരും ദാവീദിന്നു ദാസന്മാരായിത്തീര്ന്നു കപ്പം കൊടുത്തുവന്നു. ഇങ്ങനെ ദാവീദ് ചെന്നേടത്തൊക്കെയും യഹോവ അവന്നു ജയം നല്കി.

6. And the Sirians became servants to David paying tribute. And thus the LORD saved David in all that he went to.

7. ഹദദേസെരിന്റെ ഭൃധത്യന്മാര്ക്കും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന പൊന് പരിചകളെ ദാവീദ് എടുത്തു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

7. And David took the shields of gold that were upon the servants of Adadezer and brought them to Jerusalem.

8. ഹദദേസെരിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങളായ ബേതഹില്നിന്നും ബെരോതായില്നിന്നും ദാവീദ്രാജാവു അനവധി താമ്രവും കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

8. And thereto out of Betah and Berathai cities of Adadezer he brought exceeding great abundance of brass.

9. ദാവീദ് ഹദദേസെരിന്റെ സര്വ്വസൈന്യത്തെയും തോല്പിച്ചു എന്നു ഹമാത്ത്രാജാവായ തോയി കേട്ടപ്പോള്

9. When Thoi king of Hemath had heard how David had discomforted all the host of Adadezer,

10. ദാവീദ്രാജാവിനോടു കുശലം ചോദിപ്പാനും അവന് ഹദദേസെരിനോടു യുദ്ധംചെയ്തു അവനെ തോല്പിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു അവനെ അഭിനന്ദിപ്പാനും തോയി തന്റെ മകന് യോരാമിനെ രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് അയച്ചു; ഹദദേസെരിന്നു തോയിയോടു കൂടക്കൂടെ യുദ്ധമുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. യോരാം വെള്ളി, പൊന്നു, താമ്രം എന്നിവകൊണ്ടുള്ള സാധനങ്ങളെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

10. he sent Joram his son unto king David to salute him with peace and to bless him because he had fought against Adadezer and beaten him: for Thoi kept war with Adadezer, which son brought vessels of silver, gold and of brass with him.

11. ദാവീദ്രാജാവു ഇവയെ അരാമ്യര്, മോവാബ്യര്, അമ്മോന്യര്, ഫെലിസ്ത്യര്, അമാലേക്യര് എന്നിങ്ങനെ താന് കീഴടക്കിയ സകല ജാതികളുടെയും പക്കല്നിന്നും

11. And them also king David did dedicate unto the LORD with the silver and gold that he consecrated of all nations which he subdued:

12. രെഹോബിന്റെ മകനായി സോബരാജാവായ ഹദദേസെരിന്റെ കൊള്ളയില്നിന്നും എടുത്തു വിശുദ്ധീകരിച്ച വെള്ളിയോടും പൊന്നിനോടും കൂടെ യഹോവേക്കു വിശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചു.

12. of the Sirians, the Moabites, the children of Ammon, the Philistines, the Amalekites, and of the spoil of Adadezer son of Rehob king of Zobah.

13. പിന്നെ ദാവീദ് ഉപ്പുതാഴ്വരയില്വെച്ചു പതിനെണ്ണായിരം അരാമ്യരെ സംഹരിച്ചു മടങ്ങിവന്നപ്പോള് തനിക്കു കീര്ത്തി സമ്പാദിച്ചു.

13. And David made him a name after he returned from the slaughter of the Sirians in the valley of Salt where he slew eighteen thousand men.

14. അവന് എദോമില് കാവല്പട്ടാളങ്ങളെ ആക്കി; എദോമില് എല്ലാടത്തും അവന് കാവല്പട്ടാളങ്ങളെ പാര്പ്പിച്ചു; എദോമ്യരൊക്കെയും ദാവീദിന്നു ദാസന്മാരായിത്തീര്ന്നു; ദാവീദ് ചെന്നേടത്തൊക്കെയും യഹോവ അവന്നു ജയം നല്കി.

14. And he put keepers in Edom, even thorowout all Edom put he soldiers and all Edom became his servants. And the LORD kept David whatsoever he took in hand.

15. ഇങ്ങനെ ദാവീദ് എല്ലായിസ്രായേലിനെയും വാണു; ദാവീദ് തന്റെ സകലജനത്തിന്നും നീതിയും ന്യായവും നടത്തിക്കൊടുത്തു.

15. And David reigned over all Israel and executed right and Justice unto all his people.

16. സെരൂയയുടെ മകന് യോവാബ് സേനാധിപതിയും അഹീലൂദിന്റെ മകന് യെഹോശാഫാത് മന്ത്രിയും ആയിരുന്നു.

16. And Joab the son of Zaruiah was over the host, and Jehosaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder.

17. അഹീതൂബിന്റെ മകന് സാദോക്കും അബ്യാഥാരിന്റെ മകന് അഹീമേലെക്കും പുരോഹിതന്മാരും സെരായാ രായസക്കാരനും ആയിരുന്നു.

17. And Sadoch the son of Ahitob and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar were the priests, and Saraiah was the Scribe.

18. യഹോയാദയുടെ മകന് ബെനായാവു ക്രേത്യര്ക്കും പ്ളേത്യര്ക്കും അധിപതി ആയിരുന്നു; ദാവീദിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരോ പുരോഹിതന്മാരായിരുന്നു.

18. And Banaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cerethites and the Phelethites and David's sons were chief rulers.
