1. ഏഴാം സംവത്സരത്തില് യെഹോയാദാ ധൈര്യപ്പെട്ടു, യെഹോരാമിന്റെ മകന് അസര്യ്യാവു യെഹോഹാനാന്റെ മകന് യിശ്മായേല്, ഔബേദിന്റെ മകന് അസര്യ്യാവു, അദായാവിന്റെ മകന് മയശേയാ, സിക്രിയുടെ മകന് എലീശാഫാത്ത് എന്നീ ശതാധിപന്മാരോടു സഖ്യത ചെയ്തു.

1. Then, in the seventh year, Jehoiada summoned his courage and took the commanders of hundreds into a covenant with him: Azariah son of Jeroham, Ishmael son of Jehohanan, Azariah son of Obed, Maaseiah son of Adaiah, and Elishaphat son of Zichri.

2. അവര് യെഹൂദയില് ചുറ്റി സഞ്ചരിച്ചു സകലയെഹൂദാനഗരങ്ങളിലും നിന്നു ലേവ്യരേയും യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ പിതൃഭവനത്തലവന്മാരെയും കൂട്ടി യെരൂശലേമില് വന്നു.

2. They made a circuit throughout Judah. They gathered the Levites from all the cities of Judah and the heads of the families of Israel, and they came to Jerusalem.

3. സര്വ്വസഭയും ദൈവാലയത്തില്വെച്ചു രാജാവിനോടു ഉടമ്പടി ചെയ്തു; അവന് അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതുദാവീദിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരെക്കുറിച്ചു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുപോലെ രാജപുത്രന് തന്നേ രാജാവാകേണം.

3. Then the whole assembly made a covenant with the king in God's temple. Jehoiada said to them, 'Here is the king's son! He must reign, just as the LORD promised concerning David's sons.

4. നിങ്ങള് ചെയ്യേണ്ടുന്ന കാര്യം ആവിതുപുരോഹിതന്മാരും ലേവ്യരുമായ നിങ്ങളില് ശബ്ബത്തില് തവണമാറി വരുന്ന മൂന്നില് ഒരു ഭാഗം വാതില്കാവല്ക്കാരായിരിക്കേണം.

4. This is what you are to do: one third of you, priests and Levites who are coming on duty on the Sabbath, are to be gatekeepers.

5. മൂന്നില് ഒരു ഭാഗം രാജധാനിയിങ്കലും മൂന്നില് ഒരു ഭാഗം അടിസ്ഥാനവാതില്ക്കലും നില്ക്കേണം; ജനമെല്ലാം യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തില് പ്രാകാരങ്ങളില് ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കേണം.

5. A third are to be at the king's palace, and a third are to be at the Foundation Gate, and all the troops will be in the courtyards of the LORD's temple.

6. എങ്കിലും പുരോഹിതന്മാരും ലേവ്യരില്വെച്ചു ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്യുന്നവരും അല്ലാതെ ആരും യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തില് കടക്കരുതു; അവര് വിശുദ്ധരാകകൊണ്ടു അവര്ക്കും കടക്കാം; എന്നാല് ജനം ഒക്കെയും യഹോവയുടെ പ്രമാണം സൂക്ഷിക്കേണം.

6. No one is to enter the LORD's temple but the priests and those Levites who serve; they may enter because they are holy, but all the people are to obey the requirement of the LORD.

7. ലേവ്യരോ ഔരോരുത്തന് താന്താന്റെ ആയുധം ധരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു രാജാവിന്നു ചുറ്റും നില്ക്കേണം; മറ്റാരെങ്കിലും ആലയത്തില് കടന്നാല് അവന് മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കേണം; രാജാവു അകത്തു വരുമ്പോഴും പുറത്തു പോകുമ്പോഴും നിങ്ങള് അവനോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കേണം.

7. You must completely surround the king with weapons in hand. Anyone who enters the temple is to be put to death. You must be with the king in all his daily tasks.'

8. ലേവ്യരും എല്ലായെഹൂദയും യെഹോയാദാപുരോഹിതന് കല്പിച്ചതു പോലെ ഒക്കെയും ചെയ്തു; ഔരോരുത്തന് താന്താന്റെ ആളുകളെ ശബ്ബത്തില് തവണ മാറിപ്പോകുന്നവരെയും ശബ്ബത്തില് തവണ മാറി വരുന്നവരെയും തന്നേ, കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു വന്നു; യെഹോയാദാപുരോഹിതന് ക്കുറുകളെ വിട്ടയച്ചിരുന്നില്ല.

8. So the commanders of hundreds did everything Jehoiada the priest commanded. They each brought their men-- those coming on duty on the Sabbath and those going off duty on the Sabbath-- for Jehoiada the priest did not release the divisions.

9. യെഹോയാദാപുരോഹിതന് ദാവീദ് രാജാവിന്റെ വകയായി ദൈവാലയത്തില് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന കുന്തങ്ങളും ചെറുപരിചകളും വമ്പരിചകളും ശതാധിപന്മാര്ക്കും കൊടുത്തു.

9. Jehoiada the priest gave to the commanders of hundreds King David's spears, shields, and quivers that were in God's temple.

10. അവന് സകലജനത്തെയും താന്താന്റെ കയ്യില് ആയുധവുമായി ആലയത്തിന്റെ വലത്തുവശം മുതല് ആലയത്തിന്റെ ഇടത്തുവശംവരെ യാഗപീഠത്തിന്നും ആലയത്തിന്നും നേരെ രാജാവിന്റെ ചുറ്റും നിര്ത്തി;

10. Then he stationed all the troops with their weapons in hand surrounding the king-- from the right side of the temple to the left side, by the altar and by the temple.

11. അവര് രാജകുമാരനെ പുറത്തു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു കിരീടം ധരിപ്പിച്ചു സാക്ഷിപുസ്തകവും കൊടുത്തു അവനെ രാജാവാക്കി. യെഹോയാദയും പുത്രന്മാരും അവനെ അഭിഷേകം കഴിച്ചു, രാജാവേ, ജയജയ എന്നു ആര്ത്തുവിളിച്ചു.

11. They brought out the king's son, put the crown on him, gave him the testimony, and made him king. Jehoiada and his sons anointed him and cried, 'Long live the king!'

12. ജനം വരികയും രാജാവിനെ കീര്ത്തിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്ന ഘോഷം അഥല്യാ കേട്ടിട്ടു യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തില് ജനത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു.

12. When Athaliah heard the noise from the troops, the guards, and those praising the king, she went to the troops in the LORD's temple.

13. പ്രവേശനത്തിങ്കല് രാജാവു തന്റെ തൂണിന്റെ അരികെ നിലക്കുന്നതു രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരും കാഹളക്കാരും നിലക്കുന്നതും ദേശത്തെ ജനമൊക്കെയും സന്തോഷിച്ചു കാഹളം ഊതുന്നതും സംഗീതക്കാര് വാദ്യങ്ങളാല് പാടുന്നതും സ്തോത്രഗാനം നയിക്കുന്നതും കണ്ടപ്പോള് അഥല്യാ വസ്ത്രം കീറിദ്രോഹം, ദ്രോഹം! എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

13. As she looked, there was the king standing by his pillar at the entrance. The commanders and the trumpeters were by the king, and all the people of the land were rejoicing and blowing trumpets while the singers with musical instruments were leading the praise. Athaliah tore her clothes and screamed, 'Treason, treason!'

14. യെഹോയാദാപുരോഹിതന് പടനായകന്മാരായ ശതാധിപന്മാരെ പുറത്തു വരുത്തി അവരോടുഅവളെ അണികളില്കൂടി പുറത്തു കൊണ്ടു പോകുവിന് ; ആരെങ്കിലും അവളെ അനുഗമിച്ചാല് അവന് വാളാല് മരിക്കേണം എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു. അവളെ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തില്വെച്ചു കൊല്ലരുതു എന്നു പുരോഹിതന് കല്പിച്ചിരുന്നു.

14. Then Jehoiada the priest sent out the commanders of hundreds, those in charge of the army, saying, 'Take her out between the ranks, and put anyone who follows her to death by the sword,' for the priest had said, 'Don't put her to death in the LORD's temple.'

15. അങ്ങനെ അവര് അവള്ക്കു വഴി ഉണ്ടാക്കിക്കൊടുത്തുഅവള് രാജധാനിക്കു സമീപത്തു കുതിരവാതിലിന്റെ പ്രവേശനത്തിങ്കല് എത്തിയപ്പോള് അവിടെവെച്ചു അവര് അവളെ കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞു.

15. So they arrested her, and she went by the entrance of the Horses' Gate to the king's palace, where they put her to death.

16. അനന്തരം യെഹോയാദാ തങ്ങള് യഹോവയുടെ ജനം ആയിരിക്കും എന്നു താനും സര്വ്വജനവും രാജാവും തമ്മില് ഒരു നിയമം ചെയ്തു.

16. Then Jehoiada made a covenant between himself, the king, and the people that they would be the LORD's people.

17. പിന്നെ ജനമൊക്കെയും ബാലിന്റെ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലേക്കു ചെന്നു അതു ഇടിച്ചു അവന്റെ ബലിപീഠങ്ങളെയും വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെയും തകര്ത്തുകളഞ്ഞു; ബാലിന്റെ പുരോഹിതനായ മത്ഥാനെ ബലിപീഠങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പില്വെച്ചു കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞു.

17. So all the people went to the temple of Baal and tore it down. They broke its altars and images into pieces and killed Mattan, the priest of Baal, at the altars.

18. ദാവീദ് കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ സന്തോഷത്തോടും സംഗീതത്തോടുംകൂടെ മോശയുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തില് എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നപ്രകാരം യഹോവയുടെ ഹോമയാഗങ്ങളെ അര്പ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു യെഹോയാദാ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്നു ദാവീദ് വിഭാഗിച്ചുകൊടുത്തിരുന്ന ലേവ്യരുടെയും പുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെയും കീഴില് യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തില് ഉദ്യോഗങ്ങളെ നിയമിച്ചു.

18. Then Jehoiada put the oversight of the LORD's temple into the hands of the Levitical priests, whom David had appointed over the LORD's temple, to offer burnt offerings to the LORD as it is written in the law of Moses, with rejoicing and song ordained by David.

19. വല്ലപ്രകാരത്തിലും അശുദ്ധനായ ഒരുത്തനും അകത്തു കടക്കാതെയിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവന് യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്റെ വാതില്ക്കല് കാവല്ക്കാരെ നിയമിച്ചു.

19. He stationed gatekeepers at the gates of the LORD's temple so that nothing unclean could enter for any reason.

20. അവന് ശതാധിപന്മാരെയും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരെയും ജനത്തിന്റെ പ്രമാണികളെയും ദേശത്തിലെ സകലജനത്തെയും കൂട്ടി രാജാവിനെ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തില് നിന്നു ഇറക്കി മേലത്തെ പടിവാതില്വഴിയായി രാജധാനിയിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു രാജാസനത്തില് ഇരുത്തി.

20. Then he took [with him] the commanders of hundreds, the nobles, the governors of the people, and all the people of the land and brought the king down from the LORD's temple. They entered the king's palace through the upper [gate] and seated the king on the throne of the kingdom.

21. ദേശത്തിലെ സകലജനവും സന്തോഷിച്ചു; നഗരം സ്വസ്ഥമായിരുന്നു; അഥല്യയെ അവര് വാള്കൊണ്ടു കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞു.

21. All the people of the land rejoiced, and the city was quiet, for they had put Athaliah to death by the sword.
