1. അതിന്നു ഇയ്യോബ് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാല്

1. Then Job answered,

2. ഞാന് ഈവക പലതും കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടു; നിങ്ങള് എല്ലാവരും വ്യസനിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ആശ്വാസകന്മാര്.

2. 'I have heard many such things. All of you bring trouble instead of comfort.

3. വ്യര്ത്ഥവാക്കുകള്ക്കു അവസാനം ഉണ്ടാകുമോ? അല്ല, പ്രതിവാദിപ്പാന് നിന്നെ ചൊടിപ്പിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു?

3. Is there no end to your words that are full of wind? What is your problem that you keep on talking?

4. നിങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ ഞാനും സംസാരിക്കാം; എനിക്കുള്ള അനുഭവം നിങ്ങള്ക്കുണ്ടായിരുന്നുവെങ്കില് എനിക്കും നിങ്ങളുടെ നേരെ മൊഴികളെ യോജിപ്പിക്കയും നിങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു തല കുലുക്കുകയും ചെയ്യാമായിരുന്നു.

4. I also could speak like you, if I were in your place. I could put words together against you, and shake my head at you.

5. ഞാന് വായികൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളെ ധൈര്യപ്പെടുത്തുകയും അധരസാന്ത്വനംകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളെ ആശ്വസിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യുമായിരുന്നു.

5. I could give you strength with my mouth. I could speak words of comfort and make your pain less.

6. ഞാന് സംസാരിച്ചാലും എന്റെ വേദന ശമിക്കുന്നില്ല; ഞാന് അടങ്ങിയിരുന്നാലും എനിക്കെന്തു ആശ്വാസമുള്ളു?

6. 'If I speak, my pain is not made less. And if I keep quiet, it does not leave me.

7. ഇപ്പോഴോ അവന് എന്നെ ക്ഷീണിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നീ എന്റെ ബന്ധുവര്ഗ്ഗത്തെയൊക്കെയും ശൂന്യമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

7. But now God has taken away my strength. He has taken away all my family.

8. നീ എന്നെ പിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അതു എന്റെ നേരെ സാക്ഷ്യമായിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ മെലിച്ചല് എനിക്കു വിരോധമായെഴുന്നേറ്റു എന്റെ മുഖത്തു നോക്കി സാക്ഷ്യം പറയുന്നു.

8. He has made me dry up, and this speaks against me. The wasting away of my body rises up against me. It speaks against me to my face.

9. അവന് കോപത്തില് എന്നെ കീറി ഉപദ്രവിക്കുന്നു; അവന് എന്റെ നേരെ പല്ലു കടിക്കുന്നു; ശത്രു എന്റെ നേരെ കണ്ണു കൂര്പ്പിക്കുന്നു.

9. His anger has torn me and hated me. He has ground His teeth at me. The one against me looks hard at me.

10. അവര് എന്റെ നേരെ വായ്പിളര്ക്കുംന്നു; നിന്ദയോടെ അവര് എന്റെ ചെകിട്ടത്തടിക്കുന്നു; അവര് എനിക്കു വിരോധമായി കൂട്ടം കൂടുന്നു.

10. Men have looked at me with their mouths open. They have hit me on the face with anger. They have gathered together against me.

11. ദൈവം എന്നെ അഭക്തന്റെ പക്കല് ഏല്പിക്കുന്നു; ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ കയ്യില് എന്നെ അകപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു.

11. God gives me over to bad men. He throws me into the hands of the sinful.

12. ഞാന് സ്വൈരമായി വസിച്ചിരുന്നു; അവനോ എന്നെ ചതെച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു; അവന് എന്നെ പിടരിക്കു പിടിച്ചു തകര്ത്തുകളഞ്ഞു; എന്നെ തനിക്കു ലാക്കാക്കി നിര്ത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

12. I was living in comfort, but He has taken that away. He has taken hold of me by the neck and shaken me to pieces. He has set me up for something to shoot at.

13. അവന്റെ അസ്ത്രങ്ങള് എന്റെ ചുറ്റും വീഴുന്നു; അവന് ആദരിക്കാതെ എന്റെ അന്തര്ഭാഗങ്ങളെ പിളര്ക്കുംന്നു; എന്റെ പിത്തത്തെ നിലത്തു ഒഴിച്ചുകളയുന്നു.

13. His arrows are all around me. He cuts my kidneys open without pity. He pours the bitter insides on the ground.

14. അവന് എന്നെ ഇടിച്ചിടിച്ചു തകര്ക്കുംന്നു; മല്ലനെപ്പോലെ എന്റെ നേരെ പായുന്നു.

14. He hurts me again and again. He runs at me like a man of war.

15. ഞാന് രട്ടു എന്റെ ത്വക്കിന്മേല് കൂട്ടിത്തുന്നി, എന്റെ കൊമ്പിനെ പൊടിയില് ഇട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

15. I have sewed cloth made from hair over my skin, and have laid my hope in the dust.

16. കരഞ്ഞു കരഞ്ഞു എന്റെ മുഖം ചുവന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ കണ്ണിന്മേല് അന്ധതമസ്സു കിടക്കുന്നു.

16. My face is red from crying, and darkness is over my eyes.

17. എങ്കിലും സാഹസം എന്റെ കൈകളില് ഇല്ല. എന്റെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥന നിര്മ്മലമത്രേ.

17. But my hands have done nothing bad, and my prayer is pure.

18. അയ്യോ ഭൂമിയേ, എന്റെ രക്തം മൂടരുതേ; എന്റെ നിലവിളി എങ്ങും തടഞ്ഞുപോകരുതേ.

18. O earth, do not cover my blood. Let my cry have no place to rest.

19. ഇപ്പോഴും എന്റെ സാക്ഷി സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തിലും എന്റെ ജാമ്യക്കാരന് ഉയരത്തിലും ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

19. See, even now there is One Who sees me from heaven. The One Who speaks for me is on high.

20. എന്റെ സ്നേഹിതന്മാര് എന്നെ പരിഹസിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ കണ്ണോ ദൈവത്തിങ്കലേക്കു കണ്ണുനീര് പൊഴിക്കുന്നു.

20. My friends make fun of me. My eyes pour out tears to God.

21. അവന് മനുഷ്യന്നു വേണ്ടി ദൈവത്തോടും മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്നു വേണ്ടി അവന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരനോടും ന്യായവാദം കഴിക്കും.

21. If only a man could give reasons to God, as a man does for his neighbor!

22. ചില ആണ്ടു കഴിയുമ്പോഴേക്കു ഞാന് മടങ്ങിവരാത്ത പാതെക്കു പോകേണ്ടിവരുമല്ലോ.

22. In a few years I will go the way that I cannot return.
