1. യഹോവേ, നീ ദൂരത്തു നില്ക്കുന്നതെന്തു? കഷ്ടകാലത്തു നീ മറഞ്ഞുകളയുന്നതുമെന്തു?

1. Why art thou gone so far off, O LORD? whilt thou hide thyself in time of trouble?

2. ദുഷ്ടന്റെ അഹങ്കാരത്താല് എളിയവന് തപിക്കുന്നു; അവര് നിരൂപിച്ച ഉപായങ്ങളില് അവര് തന്നേ പിടിപെടട്ടെ.

2. While the ungodly hath the over hand, the poor must suffer persecution: O that they were taken in the imagination which they go about.

3. ദുഷ്ടന് തന്റെ മനോരഥത്തില് പ്രശംസിക്കുന്നു; ദുരാഗ്രഹി യഹോവയെ ത്യജിച്ചു നിന്ദിക്കുന്നു.

3. For the ungodly maketh boast(boost) of his own heart's desire, the covetous blesseth himself, and blasphemeth the LORD.

4. ദുഷ്ടന് ഉന്നതഭാവത്തോടെഅവന് ചോദിക്കയില്ല എന്നു പറയുന്നു; ദൈവം ഇല്ല എന്നാകുന്നു അവന്റെ നിരൂപണം ഒക്കെയും.

4. The ungodly is so proud and full of indignation, that he careth not: neither is God before his eyes.

5. അവന്റെ വഴികള് എല്ലായ്പോഴും സഫലമാകുന്നു; നിന്റെ ന്യായവിധികള് അവന് കാണാതവണ്ണം ഉയരമുള്ളവ; തന്റെ സകലശത്രുക്കളോടും അവന് ചീറുന്നു.

5. His ways are alway filthy, thy judgments are far out of his sight, he defyeth all his enemies.

6. ഞാന് കുലുങ്ങുകയില്ല, ഒരുനാളും അനര്ത്ഥത്തില് വീഴുകയുമില്ല എന്നു അവന് തന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തില് പറയുന്നു.

6. For he sayeth in his heart: Tush, I shall never be cast down, there shall no harm happen to me.

7. അവന്റെ വായില് ശാപവും വ്യാജവും സാഹസവും നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ നാവിന് കീഴില് ദോഷവും അതിക്രമവും ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

7. His mouth is full of cursing, fraud and deceit: under his tongue is travail and sorrow.

8. അവന് ഗ്രാമങ്ങളുടെ ഒളിവുകളില് പതിയിരിക്കുന്നു; മറവിടങ്ങളില്വെച്ചു അവന് കുറ്റമില്ലാത്തവനെ കൊല്ലുന്നു; അവന് രഹസ്യമായി അഗതിയുടെമേല് കണ്ണു വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

8. He sitteth lurking in the gardens, that he may privily murder the innocent, his eyes are set upon the poor.

9. സിംഹം മുറ്റുകാട്ടില് എന്നപോലെ അവന് മറവിടത്തില് പതുങ്ങുന്നു; എളിയവനെ പിടിപ്പാന് അവന് പതിയിരിക്കുന്നു; എളിയവനെ തന്റെ വലയില് ചാടിച്ചു പിടിക്കുന്നു.

9. He lieth waiting secretly, as it were a lion in his den. He lurketh that he may ravish the poor, yea to ravish the poor when he hath gotten him into his net.

10. അവന് കുനിഞ്ഞു പതുങ്ങിക്കിടക്കുന്നു; അഗതികള് അവന്റെ ബലത്താല് വീണു പോകുന്നു.

10. Then smiteth he, then oppresseth he and casteth down the poor with his authority.

11. ദൈവം മറന്നിരിക്കുന്നു, അവന് തന്റെ മുഖം മറെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന് ഒരുനാളും കാണുകയില്ല എന്നു അവന് ഹൃദയത്തില് പറയുന്നു.

11. For he sayeth in his heart: Tush, God hath forgotten, he hath turned away his face, so that he will never see it.

12. യഹോവേ, എഴുന്നേല്ക്കേണമേ, ദൈവമേ, തൃക്കൈ ഉയര്ത്തേണമേ; എളിയവരെ മറക്കരുതേ.

12. Arise O LORD God, lift up thine hand and forget not the poor.

13. ദുഷ്ടന് ദൈവത്തെ നിന്ദിക്കുന്നതും നീ ചോദിക്കയില്ല എന്നു തന്റെ ഉള്ളില് പറയുന്നതും എന്തിന്നു?

13. Wherefore should the wicked blaspheme God and say in his heart: tush, he careth not for it:

14. നീ അതു കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു, തൃക്കൈകൊണ്ടു പകരം ചെയ്വാന് ദോഷത്തെയും പകയെയും നീ നോക്കിക്കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; അഗതി തന്നെത്താന് നിങ്കല് ഏല്പിക്കുന്നു; അനാഥന്നു നീ സഹായി ആകുന്നു.

14. This thou seest, for thou considerest the misery and sorrow. The poor giveth himself over in to thy hand, and committeth him unto thee, for thou art the helper of the friendless.

15. ദുഷ്ടന്റെ ഭുജത്തെ നീ ഒടിക്കേണമേ; ദോഷിയുടെ ദുഷ്ടത ഇല്ലാതെയാകുവോളം അതിന്നു പ്രതികാരം ചെയ്യേണമേ.

15. Break thou the arm off the ungodly and malicious, search out the wickedness which he hath done, that he may perish.

16. യഹോവ എന്നെന്നേക്കും രാജാവാകുന്നു; ജാതികള് അവന്റെ ദേശത്തുനിന്നു നശിച്ചു പോയിരിക്കുന്നു.

16. The LORD is King for ever, the Heathen shall perish out of his land.

17. ഭൂമിയില്നിന്നുള്ള മര്ത്യന് ഇനി ഭയപ്പെടുത്താതിരിപ്പാന് നീ അനാഥന്നും പീഡിതന്നും ന്യായപാലനം ചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന്നു

17. LORD, thou hearest the desirous longing of the poor: their heart is sure, that thine ear hearkeneth thereto.

18. യഹോവേ, നീ സാധുക്കളുടെ അപേക്ഷ കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ ഹൃദയത്തെ നീ ഉറപ്പിക്കയും നിന്റെ ചെവി ചായിച്ചു കേള്ക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

18. Help the fatherless and the poor unto their right, that the ungodly be no more exalted upon earth.
