1. സംഗീതപ്രമാണിക്കു; ദാവീദിന്റെ ഒരു സങ്കീര്ത്തനം.

1. To him that excelleth. A Psalme of David. Holde not thy tongue, O God of my praise.

2. എന്റെ പുകഴ്ചയായ ദൈവമേ, മൌനമായിരിക്കരുതേ.

2. For the mouth of the wicked, and the mouth full of deceite are opened vpon me: they haue spoken to me with a lying tongue.

3. ദുഷ്ടന്റെ വായും വഞ്ചകന്റെ വായും എന്റെ നേരെ തുറന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; ഭോഷകുള്ള നാവുകൊണ്ടു അവര് എന്നോടു സംസാരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

3. They compassed me about also with words of hatred, and fought against me without a cause.

4. അവര് ദ്വേഷവാക്കുകള്കൊണ്ടു എന്നെ വളഞ്ഞു കാരണംകൂടാതെ എന്നോടു പൊരുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

4. For my friendship they were mine aduersaries, but I gaue my selfe to praier.

5. എന്റെ സ്നേഹത്തിന്നു പകരം അവര് വൈരം കാണിക്കുന്നു; ഞാനോ പ്രാര്ത്ഥന ചെയ്തുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

5. And they haue rewarded me euil for good, and hatred for my friendship.

6. നന്മെക്കു പകരം തിന്മയും സ്നേഹത്തിന്നു പകരം ദ്വേഷവും അവര് എന്നോടു കാണിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

6. Set thou the wicked ouer him, and let the aduersarie stand at his right hand.

7. നീ അവന്റെമേല് ഒരു ദുഷ്ടനെ നിയമിക്കേണമേ; എതിരാളി അവന്റെ വലത്തുഭാഗത്തു നില്ക്കട്ടെ.

7. Whe he shalbe iudged, let him be condemned, and let his praier be turned into sinne.

8. അവനെ വിസ്തരിക്കുമ്പോള് അവന് കുറ്റക്കാരനെന്നു തെളിയട്ടെ; അവന്റെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥന പാപമായി തീരട്ടെ.

8. Let his daies be fewe, and let another take his charge.

9. അവന്റെ നാളുകള് ചുരുങ്ങിപ്പോകട്ടെ; അവന്റെ സ്ഥാനം മറ്റൊരുത്തന് ഏല്ക്കട്ടെ.

9. Let his children be fatherlesse, and his wife a widowe.

10. അവന്റെ മക്കള് അനാഥരും അവന്റെ ഭാര്യ വിധവയും ആയി തീരട്ടെ.

10. Let his children be vagabonds and beg and seeke bread, comming out of their places destroyed.

11. അവന്റെ മക്കള് അലഞ്ഞു തെണ്ടിനടക്കട്ടെ. തങ്ങളുടെ ശൂന്യഭവനങ്ങളെ വിട്ടു ഇരന്നു നടക്കട്ടെ;

11. Let the extortioner catch al that he hath, and let the strangers spoile his labour.

12. കടക്കാരന് അവന്നുള്ളതൊക്കെയും കൊണ്ടു പോകട്ടെ; അന്യജാതിക്കാര് അവന്റെ പ്രയത്നഫലം കൊള്ളയിടട്ടെ.

12. Let there be none to extend mercie vnto him: neither let there be any to shewe mercie vpon his fatherlesse children.

13. അവന്നു ദയ കാണിപ്പാന് ആരും ഉണ്ടാകരുതേ; അവന്റെ അനാഥരോടു ആര്ക്കും കൃപ തോന്നരുതേ.

13. Let his posteritie be destroied, and in the generation following let their name be put out.

14. അവന്റെ സന്തതി മുടിഞ്ഞുപോകട്ടെ; അടുത്ത തലമുറയില് തന്നേ അവരുടെ പേര് മാഞ്ഞു പോകട്ടെ;

14. Let the iniquitie of his fathers bee had in remembrance with the Lord: and let not the sinne of his mother be done away.

15. അവന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ അകൃത്യം യഹോവ ഔര്ക്കുംമാറാകട്ടെ; അവന്റെ അമ്മയുടെ പാപം മാഞ്ഞുപോകയുമരുതേ.

15. But let them alway be before the Lord, that he may cut off their memorial from ye earth.

16. അവ എല്ലായ്പോഴും യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ ഇരിക്കട്ടെ; അവരുടെ ഔര്മ്മ അവന് ഭൂമിയില്നിന്നു ഛേദിച്ചുകളയേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്നേ.

16. Because he remembred not to shew mercie, but persecuted the afflicted and poore man, and the sorowfull hearted to slay him.

17. അവന് ദയ കാണിപ്പാന് മറന്നുകളഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ; എളിയവനെയും ദരിദ്രനെയും മനംതകര്ന്നവനെയും മരണപര്യന്തം ഉപദ്രവിച്ചു.

17. As he loued cursing, so shall it come vnto him, and as he loued not blessing, so shall it be farre from him.

18. ശാപം അവന്നു പ്രിയമായിരുന്നു; അതു അവന്നു ഭവിച്ചു; അനുഗ്രഹം അവന്നു അപ്രിയമായിരുന്നു; അതു അവനെ വിട്ടകന്നു പോയി.

18. As he clothed himselfe with cursing like a rayment, so shall it come into his bowels like water, and like oyle into his bones.

19. അവന് വസ്ത്രംപോലെ ശാപം ധരിച്ചു; അതു വെള്ളംപോലെ അവന്റെ ഉള്ളിലും എണ്ണപോലെ അവന്റെ അസ്ഥികളിലും ചെന്നു.

19. Let it be vnto him as a garment to couer him, and for a girdle, wherewith he shalbe alway girded.

20. അതു അവന്നു പുതെക്കുന്ന വസ്ത്രംപോലെയും നിത്യം അരെക്കു കെട്ടുന്ന കച്ചപോലെയും ഇരിക്കട്ടെ.

20. Let this be the rewarde of mine aduersarie from the Lord, and of them, that speake euill against my soule.

21. ഇതു എന്റെ എതിരാളികള്ക്കും എനിക്കു വിരോധമായി ദോഷം പറയുന്നവര്ക്കും യഹോവ കൊടുക്കുന്ന പ്രതിഫലം ആകുന്നു.

21. But thou, O Lord my God, deale with me according vnto thy Name: deliuer me, (for thy mercie is good)

22. നീയോ കര്ത്താവായ യഹോവേ, നിന്റെ നാമത്തിന്നടുത്തവണ്ണം എന്നോടു ചെയ്യേണമേ; നിന്റെ ദയ നല്ലതാകകൊണ്ടു എന്നെ വിടുവിക്കേണമേ.

22. Because I am poore and needie, and mine heart is wounded within me.

23. ഞാന് അരിഷ്ടനും ദരിദ്രനും ആകുന്നു; എന്റെ ഹൃദയം എന്റെ ഉള്ളില് മുറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

23. I depart like the shadowe that declineth, and am shaken off as the grashopper.

24. ചാഞ്ഞുപോകുന്ന നിഴല്പോലെ ഞാന് കടന്നുപോകുന്നു; ഒരു വെട്ടുക്കിളിയെപ്പോലെ എന്നെ ചാടിക്കുന്നു.

24. My knees are weake through fasting, and my flesh hath lost all fatnes.

25. എന്റെ മുഴങ്കാലുകള് ഉപവാസംകൊണ്ടു വിറെക്കുന്നു. എന്റെ ദേഹം പുഷ്ടിവിട്ടു ക്ഷയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

25. I became also a rebuke vnto them: they that looked vpon me, shaked their heads.

26. ഞാന് അവര്ക്കും ഒരു നിന്ദയായ്തീര്ന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്നെ കാണുമ്പോള് അവര് തല കുലുക്കുന്നു.

26. Helpe me, O Lord my God: saue me according to thy mercie.

27. എന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേ, എന്നെ സഹായിക്കേണമേ; നിന്റെ ദയെക്കു തക്കവണ്ണം എന്നെ രക്ഷിക്കേണമേ.

27. And they shall know, that this is thine hand, and that thou, Lord, hast done it.

28. യഹോവേ, ഇതു നിന്റെ കൈ എന്നും നീ ഇതു ചെയ്തു എന്നും അവര് അറിയേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്നേ.

28. Though they curse, yet thou wilt blesse: they shall arise and be confounded, but thy seruant shall reioyce.

29. അവര് ശപിക്കട്ടെ; നീയോ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കേണമേ; അവര് എതിര്ക്കുംമ്പോള് ലജ്ജിച്ചുപോകട്ടെ; അടിയനോ സന്തോഷിക്കും;

29. Let mine aduersaries be clothed with shame, and let them couer themselues with their confusion, as with a cloke.

30. എന്റെ എതിരാളികള് നിന്ദ ധരിക്കും; പുതെപ്പു പുതെക്കുംപോലെ അവര് ലജ്ജ പുതെക്കും.

30. I will giue thankes vnto the Lord greatly with my mouth and praise him among ye multitude.

31. ഞാന് എന്റെ വായ്കൊണ്ടു യഹോവയെ അത്യന്തം സ്തുതിക്കും; അതേ, ഞാന് പുരുഷാരത്തിന്റെ നടുവില് അവനെ പുകഴ്ത്തും.

31. For he will stand at the right hand of the poore, to saue him from them that woulde condemne his soule.
