1. A Song of Ascents. In my trouble I cried to the LORD, And He answered me.

2. എന്റെ കഷ്ടതയില് ഞാന് യഹോവയോടു നിലവിളിച്ചു; അവന് എനിക്കു ഉത്തരം അരുളുകയും ചെയ്തു.

2. Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips, From a deceitful tongue.

3. യഹോവേ, വ്യാജമുള്ള അധരങ്ങളെയും വഞ്ചനയുള്ള നാവിനെയും തടുത്തു എന്റെ പ്രാണനെ രക്ഷിക്കേണമേ.

3. What shall be given to you, and what more shall be done to you, You deceitful tongue?

4. വഞ്ചനയുള്ള നാവേ, നിനക്കു എന്തു വരും? നിനക്കു ഇനി എന്തു കിട്ടും?

4. Sharp arrows of the warrior, With the [burning] coals of the broom tree.

5. വീരന്റെ മൂര്ച്ചയുള്ള അസ്ത്രങ്ങളും പൂവത്തിന് കനലും തന്നേ.

5. Woe is me, for I sojourn in Meshech, For I dwell among the tents of Kedar!

6. ഞാന് മേശെക്കില് പ്രവാസം ചെയ്യുന്നതുകൊണ്ടും കേദാര്ക്കുംടാരങ്ങളില് പാര്ക്കുംന്നതുകൊണ്ടും എനിക്കു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം!

6. Too long has my soul had its dwelling With those who hate peace.

7. സമാധാനദ്വേഷിയോടുകൂടെ പാര്ക്കുംന്നതു എനിക്കു മതിമതിയായി.

7. I am [for] peace, but when I speak, They are for war.
