1. എളിയവനെ ആദരിക്കുന്നവന് ഭാഗ്യവാന് ; അനര്ത്ഥദിവസത്തില് യഹോവ അവനെ വിടുവിക്കും.

1. To the director: A song of David. Those who help the poor succeed will get many blessings. When trouble comes, the Lord will save them.

2. യഹോവ അവനെ കാത്തു ജീവനോടെ പാലിക്കും; അവന് ഭൂമിയില് ഭാഗ്യവാനായിരിക്കും; അവന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളുടെ ഇഷ്ടത്തിന്നു നീ അവനെ ഏല്പിക്കയില്ല;

2. The Lord will protect them and save their lives. He will bless them in this land. He will not let their enemies harm them.

3. യഹോവ അവനെ രോഗശയ്യയില് താങ്ങും. ദീനത്തില് നീ അവന്റെ കിടക്ക എല്ലാം മാറ്റിവിരിക്കുന്നു.

3. When they are sick in bed, the Lord will give them strength and make them well!

4. യഹോവേ, എന്നോടു കൃപ തോന്നി എന്നെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കേണമേ; നിന്നോടല്ലോ ഞാന് പാപം ചെയ്തതു എന്നു ഞാന് പറഞ്ഞു.

4. I say, 'Lord, be kind to me. I sinned against you, but forgive me and make me well.'

5. അവന് എപ്പോള് മരിച്ചു അവന്റെ പേര് നശിക്കും എന്നു എന്റെ ശത്രുക്കള് എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു ദോഷം പറയുന്നു.

5. My enemies say bad things about me. They ask, 'When will he die and be forgotten?'

6. ഒരുത്തന് എന്നെ കാണ്മാന് വന്നാല് അവന് കപടവാക്കു പറയുന്നു; അവന്റെ ഹൃദയം നീതികേടു സംഗ്രഹിക്കന്നു; അവന് പുറത്തുപോയി അതു പ്രസ്താവിക്കുന്നു.

6. If they come to see me, they don't say what they are really thinking. They come to gather a little gossip and then go to spread their rumors.

7. എന്നെ പകെക്കുന്നവരൊക്കെയും എനിക്കു വിരോധമായി തമ്മില് മന്ത്രിക്കുന്നു; അവര് എനിക്കു ദോഷം ചിന്തിക്കുന്നു.

7. Those who hate me whisper about me. They think the worst about me.

8. ഒരു ദുര്വ്യാധി അവന്നു പിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന് കിടപ്പിലായി; ഇനി അവന് എഴുന്നേല്ക്കയില്ല എന്നു അവര് പറയുന്നു.

8. They say, 'He did something wrong. That is why he is sick. He will never get well.'

9. ഞാന് വിശ്വസിച്ചവനും എന്റെ അപ്പം തിന്നവനുമായ എന്റെ പ്രാണസ്നേഹിതന് പോലും എന്റെ നേരെ കുതികാല് ഉയര്ത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

9. My best friend, the one I trusted, the one who ate with me� even he has turned against me.

10. ഞാന് അവര്ക്കും പകരം ചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന്നു യഹോവേ, കൃപ തോന്നി എന്നെ എഴുന്നേല്പിക്കേണമേ.

10. Lord, please be kind to me. Let me get up, and I will pay them back.

11. എന്റെ ശത്രു എന്നെച്ചൊല്ലി ജയഘോഷം കൊള്ളാതിരിക്കുന്നതിനാല് നിനക്കു എന്നില് പ്രസാദമായിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഞാന് അറിയുന്നു.

11. Don't let my enemy defeat me. Then I will know that you care for me.

12. നീ എന്റെ നഷ്കളങ്കത്വംനിമിത്തം എന്നെ താങ്ങുന്നു, നിന്റെ മുമ്പില് എന്നേക്കും എന്നെ നിര്ത്തിക്കൊള്ളുന്നു.
