1. എളിയവനെ ആദരിക്കുന്നവന് ഭാഗ്യവാന് ; അനര്ത്ഥദിവസത്തില് യഹോവ അവനെ വിടുവിക്കും.

1. Happy is the man who cares for the poor. The Lord will save him in times of trouble.

2. യഹോവ അവനെ കാത്തു ജീവനോടെ പാലിക്കും; അവന് ഭൂമിയില് ഭാഗ്യവാനായിരിക്കും; അവന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളുടെ ഇഷ്ടത്തിന്നു നീ അവനെ ഏല്പിക്കയില്ല;

2. The Lord will keep him alive and safe. And he will be happy upon the earth. You will not give him over to the desire of those who hate him.

3. യഹോവ അവനെ രോഗശയ്യയില് താങ്ങും. ദീനത്തില് നീ അവന്റെ കിടക്ക എല്ലാം മാറ്റിവിരിക്കുന്നു.

3. The Lord will give him strength on his bed of sickness. When he is sick, You will make him well again.

4. യഹോവേ, എന്നോടു കൃപ തോന്നി എന്നെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കേണമേ; നിന്നോടല്ലോ ഞാന് പാപം ചെയ്തതു എന്നു ഞാന് പറഞ്ഞു.

4. As for me, I said, 'O Lord, have loving-kindness for me. Heal my soul, for I have sinned against You.'

5. അവന് എപ്പോള് മരിച്ചു അവന്റെ പേര് നശിക്കും എന്നു എന്റെ ശത്രുക്കള് എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു ദോഷം പറയുന്നു.

5. Those who hate me speak bad words against me, saying, 'When will he die, and his name be forgotten?'

6. ഒരുത്തന് എന്നെ കാണ്മാന് വന്നാല് അവന് കപടവാക്കു പറയുന്നു; അവന്റെ ഹൃദയം നീതികേടു സംഗ്രഹിക്കന്നു; അവന് പുറത്തുപോയി അതു പ്രസ്താവിക്കുന്നു.

6. When one comes to see me, he speaks lies. His heart gathers up bad stories. Then he goes outside and tells them.

7. എന്നെ പകെക്കുന്നവരൊക്കെയും എനിക്കു വിരോധമായി തമ്മില് മന്ത്രിക്കുന്നു; അവര് എനിക്കു ദോഷം ചിന്തിക്കുന്നു.

7. All who hate me speak in secret together against me. They make plans to hurt me, saying,

8. ഒരു ദുര്വ്യാധി അവന്നു പിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന് കിടപ്പിലായി; ഇനി അവന് എഴുന്നേല്ക്കയില്ല എന്നു അവര് പറയുന്നു.

8. 'A bad thing has come over him. When he lies down, he will not rise again.'

9. ഞാന് വിശ്വസിച്ചവനും എന്റെ അപ്പം തിന്നവനുമായ എന്റെ പ്രാണസ്നേഹിതന് പോലും എന്റെ നേരെ കുതികാല് ഉയര്ത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

9. Even a friend of mine whom I trusted, who ate my bread, has turned against me.

10. ഞാന് അവര്ക്കും പകരം ചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന്നു യഹോവേ, കൃപ തോന്നി എന്നെ എഴുന്നേല്പിക്കേണമേ.

10. Have loving-kindness for me, O Lord. Raise me up, so that I may pay them back.

11. എന്റെ ശത്രു എന്നെച്ചൊല്ലി ജയഘോഷം കൊള്ളാതിരിക്കുന്നതിനാല് നിനക്കു എന്നില് പ്രസാദമായിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഞാന് അറിയുന്നു.

11. Then I will know that You are pleased with me, because he who hates me does not win over me.

12. നീ എന്റെ നഷ്കളങ്കത്വംനിമിത്തം എന്നെ താങ്ങുന്നു, നിന്റെ മുമ്പില് എന്നേക്കും എന്നെ നിര്ത്തിക്കൊള്ളുന്നു.

12. As for me, You hold me up in my honesty. And You set me beside You forever.
