1. ദൈവമേ, പൂര്വ്വകാലത്തു ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ നാളുകളില് നീ ചെയ്ത പ്രവൃത്തി അവര് ഞങ്ങളോടു വിവരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞങ്ങളുടെ ചെവികൊണ്ടു ഞങ്ങള് കേട്ടുമിരിക്കുന്നു;

1. To the Chanter, an instruction of the sons of Korah We have heard with our ears, (O God) our fathers have told us, what thou hast done in their time of old.

2. നിന്റെ കൈകൊണ്ടു നീ ജാതികളെ പുറത്താക്കി ഇവരെ നട്ടു; നീ വംശങ്ങളെ നശിപ്പിച്ചു, ഇവരെ പരക്കുമാറാക്കി.

2. How thou hast driven out the Heathen with thy hand, and planted them in: how thou hast destroyed the nations and cast them out.

3. തങ്ങളുടെ വാളുകൊണ്ടല്ല അവര് ദേശത്തെ കൈവശമാക്കിയതു; സ്വന്തഭുജംകൊണ്ടല്ല അവര് ജയം നേടിയതു; നിന്റെ വലങ്കയ്യും നിന്റെ ഭുജവും നിന്റെ മുഖപ്രകാശവും കൊണ്ടത്രേ; നിനക്കു അവരോടു പ്രീതിയുണ്ടായിരുന്നുവല്ലോ.

3. For they gat not the land in possession thorow their own sword, neither was it their own arm that helped them. But thy right hand, thine arm and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them.

4. ദൈവമേ, നീ എന്റെ രാജാവാകുന്നു; യാക്കോബിന്നു രക്ഷ കല്പിക്കേണമേ.

4. Thou art the King and my God, thou sendest help unto Jacob.

5. നിന്നാല് ഞങ്ങള് വൈരികളെ തള്ളിയിടും; ഞങ്ങളോടു എതിര്ക്കുംന്നവരെ നിന്റെ നാമത്തില് ചവിട്ടിക്കളയും.

5. Thorow thee, will we overthrow our enemies: and in thy name will we tread them under, that rise up against us.

6. ഞാന് എന്റെ വില്ലില് ആശ്രയിക്കയില്ല; എന്റെ വാള് എന്നെ രക്ഷിക്കയുമില്ല.

6. For I will not trust in my bow, it is not my sword that shall help me.

7. നീയത്രേ ഞങ്ങളെ വൈരികളുടെ കയ്യില് നിന്നു രക്ഷിച്ചതു; ഞങ്ങളെ പകെച്ചവരെ നീ ലജ്ജിപ്പിച്ചുമിരിക്കുന്നു;

7. But it is thou that savest us from our enemies, and puttest them to confusion that hate us.

8. ദൈവത്തില് ഞങ്ങള് നിത്യം പ്രശംസിക്കുന്നു; നിന്റെ നാമത്തിന്നു എന്നും സ്തോത്രം ചെയ്യുന്നു. സേലാ.

8. We will alway make our boast of God, and praise thy name for ever. Selah.

9. ഇപ്പോഴോ, നീ ഞങ്ങളെ തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞു ലജ്ജിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞങ്ങളുടെ സൈന്യങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ പുറപ്പെടുന്നതുമില്ല.

9. But now thou forsakest us, and puttest us to confusion, and goest not forth with our Hosts.

10. വൈരിയുടെ മുമ്പില് നീ ഞങ്ങളെ പുറം കാട്ടുമാറാക്കുന്നു; ഞങ്ങളെ പകെക്കുന്നവര് ഞങ്ങളെ കൊള്ളയിടുന്നു.

10. Thou makest us to turn our backs upon our enemies, so that they which hate us, spoil our goods.

11. ഭക്ഷണത്തിന്നുള്ള ആടുകളെപ്പോലെ നീ ഞങ്ങളെ ഏല്പിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു; ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയില് ഞങ്ങളെ ചിന്നിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

11. Thou lettest us be eaten up like sheep, and scatterest us among the Heathen.

12. നീ നിന്റെ ജനത്തെ വിലവാങ്ങാതെ വിലക്കുന്നു. അവരുടെ വിലകൊണ്ടു സമ്പത്തു വര്ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.

12. Thou sellest thy people for naught, and takest no money for them.

13. നീ ഞങ്ങളെ അയല്ക്കാര്ക്കും അപമാനവിഷയവും ചുറ്റുമുള്ളവര്ക്കും നിന്ദയും പരിഹാസവും ആക്കുന്നു.

13. Thou makest us to be rebuked of our neighbours, to be laughed to scorn and had in derision, of them that are round about us.

14. നീ ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയില് ഞങ്ങളെ പഴഞ്ചൊല്ലിന്നും വംശങ്ങളുടെ നടുവില് തലകുലുക്കത്തിന്നും വിഷയം ആക്കുന്നു.

14. Thou hast made(makest) us, a very byword among the Heathen, and that the people shake their heads at us.

15. നിന്ദിച്ചു ദുഷിക്കുന്നവന്റെ വാക്കു ഹേതുവായും ശത്രുവിന്റെയും പ്രതികാരകന്റെയും നിമിത്തമായും

15. My confusion is daily before me, and the shame of my face covereth me.

16. എന്റെ അപമാനം ഇടവിടാതെ എന്റെ മുമ്പില് ഇരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ മുഖത്തെ ലജ്ജ എന്നെ മൂടിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

16. For the voice of the slanderer(sclaunderer) and blasphemer, for the enemy and avenger.

17. ഇതൊക്കെയും ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു ഭവിച്ചു; ഞങ്ങളോ നിന്നെ മറന്നിട്ടില്ല; നിന്റെ നിയമത്തോടു അവിശ്വസ്തത കാണിച്ചിട്ടുമില്ല.

17. All this is come upon us, and yet have we not forgotten thee, nor behaved our selves unfaithfully in thy covenant.

18. നീ ഞങ്ങളെ കുറുക്കന്മാരുടെ സ്ഥലത്തുവെച്ചു തകര്ത്തുകളവാനും കൂരിരുട്ടുകൊണ്ടു ഞങ്ങളെ മൂടുവാനും തക്കവണ്ണം

18. Our heart is not turned back, neither our steps gone out of thy way.

19. ഞങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയം പിന്തിരികയോ ഞങ്ങളുടെ കാലടികള് നിന്റെ വഴി വിട്ടു മാറുകയോ ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ല.

19. For thou hast smitten us in the place of dragons, and covered us with the shadow of death.(That thou smytest us so in the place of the serpet, & coverest us with ye shadowe of death.)

20. ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ നാമത്തെ ഞങ്ങള് മറക്കയോ ഞങ്ങളുടെ കൈകളെ അന്യദൈവത്തിങ്കലേക്കു മലര്ത്തുകയോ ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കില്

20. If we had forgotten the name of our God, and hold up our hands to any strange God.

21. ദൈവം അതു ശോധന ചെയ്യാതിരിക്കുമോ? അവന് ഹൃദയത്തിലെ രഹസ്യങ്ങളെ അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

21. Should not God find it out? for he knoweth the very secrets of the heart.

22. നിന്റെ നിമിത്തം ഞങ്ങളെ ദിവസംപ്രതി കൊല്ലുന്നു; അറുപ്പാനുള്ള ആടുകളെപ്പോലെ ഞങ്ങളെ എണ്ണുന്നു.

22. But for thy sake we are killed all the day long, and are counted as sheep appointed to be slain.

23. കര്ത്താവേ, ഉണരേണമേ; നീ ഉറങ്ങുന്നതു എന്തു? എഴുന്നേല്ക്കേണമേ; ഞങ്ങളെ എന്നേക്കും തള്ളിക്കളയരുതേ.

23. Up Lord,(LORDE) why sleepest thou; Awake, and cast us not off for ever.

24. നീ നിന്റെ മുഖത്തെ മറെക്കുന്നതും ഞങ്ങളുടെ കഷ്ടവും പീഡയും മറന്നുകളയുന്നതും എന്തു?

24. Wherefore hidest thou thy face? wilt thou clean forget our misery and oppression?

25. ഞങ്ങള് നിലത്തോളം കുനിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞങ്ങളുടെ വയറു ഭൂമിയോടു പറ്റിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

25. For our soul is brought low even unto the dust, and our belly cleaveth unto the ground.

26. ഞങ്ങളുടെ സഹായത്തിന്നായി എഴുന്നേല്ക്കേണമേ; നിന്റെ ദയനിമിത്തം ഞങ്ങളെ വീണ്ടെടുക്കേണമേ;

26. Arise O Lord,(LORDE) help us, and deliver us for thy mercy sake.
