1. ദൈവമേ, എന്നോടു കൃപയുണ്ടാകേണമേ; മനുഷ്യര് എന്നെ വിഴുങ്ങുവാന് പോകുന്നു; അവര് ഇടവിടാതെ പൊരുതു എന്നെ ഞെരുക്കുന്നു.

1. To the chanter, upon the domme stock downe: which flyeth far off, Michtam of David, when the Philistines took him in Geth. Be merciful unto me (O God) for men will tread me down: they are daily fighting and troubling me.

2. എന്റെ ശത്രുക്കള് ഇടവിടാതെ എന്നെ വിഴുങ്ങുവാന് ഭാവിക്കുന്നു; ഗര്വ്വത്തോടെ എന്നോടു പൊരുതുന്നവര് അനേകരല്ലോ.

2. Mine enemies tread me daily under their feet, for they be many, that proudly fight against me.

3. ഞാന് ഭയപ്പെടുന്ന നാളില് നിന്നില് ആശ്രയിക്കും.

3. Nevertheless, when I am afraid, I put my trust in thee.

4. ഞാന് ദൈവത്തില് അവന്റെ വചനത്തെ പുകഴും; ഞാന് ദൈവത്തില് ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നു; ഞാന് ഭയപ്പെടുകയില്ല. ജഡത്തിന്നു എന്നോടു എന്തു ചെയ്വാന് കഴിയും?

4. I will comfort myself in God's word, yea I will hope in God, and not fear: What can flesh then do unto me.

5. ഇടവിടാതെ അവര് എന്റെ വാക്കുകളെ കോട്ടിക്കളയുന്നു; അവരുടെ വിചാരങ്ങളൊക്കെയും എന്റെ നേരെ തിന്മെക്കായിട്ടാകുന്നു.

5. They vex me daily in my words: all that they imagine, is to do me evil.

6. അവര് കൂട്ടംകൂടി ഒളിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ പ്രാണന്നായി പതിയിരിക്കുമ്പോലെ അവര് എന്റെ കാലടികളെ നോക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

6. They hold all together, and keep themselves close: they mark my steps, how they may catch my soul.

7. നീതികേടിനാല് അവര് ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകുമോ? ദൈവമേ, നിന്റെ കോപത്തില് ജാതികളെ തള്ളിയിടേണമേ.

7. But in vain, for it shall escape them: and why? thou (O God) in thy displeasure shall cast down such people.

8. നീ എന്റെ ഉഴല്ചകളെ എണ്ണുന്നു; എന്റെ കണ്ണുനീര് നിന്റെ തുരുത്തിയില് ആക്കിവെക്കേണമേ; അതു നിന്റെ പുസ്തകത്തില് ഇല്ലയോ?

8. Thou tellest my flittings, thou puttest my tears in thy bottle, and numberst them.

9. ഞാന് വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിക്കുമ്പോള് തന്നേ എന്റെ ശത്രുക്കള് പിന് തിരിയുന്നു; ദൈവം എനിക്കു അനുകൂലമെന്നു ഞാന് അറിയുന്നു.

9. Whensoever I call upon thee, mine enemies are put to flight: whereby I know that thou art my God.

10. ഞാന് ദൈവത്തില് അവന്റെ വചനത്തെ പുകഴും; ഞാന് യഹോവയില് അവന്റെ വചനത്തെ പുകഴും.

10. In God's word will I rejoice, in the LORD's word will I comfort me.

11. ഞാന് ദൈവത്തില് ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നു; ഞാന് ഭയപ്പെടുകയില്ല. മനുഷ്യന്നു എന്നോടു എന്തു ചെയ്വാന് കഴിയും?

11. Yea in God do I trust, and am not afraid: what can man then do unto me?

12. ദൈവമേ, നിനക്കുള്ള നേര്ച്ചകള്ക്കു ഞാന് കടമ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാന് നിനക്കു സ്തോത്രയാഗങ്ങളെ അര്പ്പിക്കും.

12. Unto thee (O God) will I pay my vows, unto thee will I give thanks and praise.

13. ഞാന് ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ ജീവന്റെ പ്രകാശത്തില് നടക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ എന്റെ പ്രാണനെ മരണത്തില്നിന്നും എന്റെ കാലുകളെ ഇടര്ച്ചയില്നിന്നും വിടുവിച്ചുവല്ലോ. (സംഗീതപ്രമാണിക്കു; നശിപ്പിക്കരുതേ എന്ന രാഗത്തില്; ദാവീദിന്റെ ഒരു സ്വര്ണ്ണഗീതം; അവന് ശൌലിന്റെ മുമ്പില്നിന്നു ഗുഹയിലേക്കു ഔടിപ്പോയ കാലത്തു ചമെച്ചതു.)

13. For thou hast delivered my soul from death, and my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living.
