1. എന്നാല് ലേവികുടുംബത്തിലെ ഒരു പുരുഷന് പോയി ഒരു ലേവ്യകന്യകയെ പരിഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

1. And there went a man out of the house of Leui, and toke to wyfe a daughter of Leui.

2. അവള് ഗര്ഭം ധരിച്ചു ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു. അവന് സൌന്ദര്യമുള്ളവന് എന്നു കണ്ടിട്ടു അവനെ മൂന്നു മാസം ഒളിച്ചുവെച്ചു.

2. And the wyfe conceaued and bare a sonne: and when she sawe that it was a proper childe, she hyd him three monethes.

3. അവനെ പിന്നെ ഒളിച്ചുവെപ്പാന് കഴിയാതെ ആയപ്പോള് അവള് ഒരു ഞാങ്ങണപ്പെട്ടകം വാങ്ങി, അതിന്നു പശയും കീലും തേച്ചു, പൈതലിനെ അതില് കിടത്തി, നദിയുടെ അരികില് ഞാങ്ങണയുടെ ഇടയില് വെച്ചു.

3. And when she coulde no longer hyde hym, she toke a basket [made] of bull russhes, and dawbed it with slyme and pitche, and layed the chylde therein, and put it in the flagges by the riuers brinke

4. അവന്നു എന്തു ഭവിക്കുമെന്നു അറിവാന് അവന്റെ പെങ്ങള് ദൂരത്തു നിന്നു.

4. And his sister stoode a farre of, to wit what woulde come of it.

5. അപ്പോള് ഫറവോന്റെ പുത്രി നദിയില് കുളിപ്പാന് വന്നു; അവളുടെ ദാസിമാര് നദീതീരത്തുകൂടി നടന്നു; അവള് ഞാങ്ങണയുടെ ഇടയില് പെട്ടകം കണ്ടപ്പോള് അതിനെ എടുത്തു കൊണ്ടുവരുവാന് ദാസിയെ അയച്ചു.

5. And the daughter of Pharao came downe to wasshe her selfe in the ryuer, and her maydens walked along by the ryuers syde: And when she sawe the basket among the flagges, she sent her mayde to fetch it.

6. അവള് അതു തുറന്നാറെ പൈതലിനെ കണ്ടുകുട്ടി ഇതാ, കരയുന്നു. അവള്ക്കു അതിനോടു അലിവുതോന്നിഇതു എബ്രായരുടെ പൈതങ്ങളില് ഒന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

6. And when she had opened it, she sawe it was a chylde: and beholde, the babe wept. And she had compassion on it, and sayde: it is one of the Hebrues chyldren.

7. അവന്റെ പെങ്ങള് ഫറവോന്റെ പുത്രിയോടുഈ പൈതലിന്നു മുലകൊടുക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഒരു എബ്രായസ്ത്രീയെ ഞാന് ചെന്നു വിളിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുവരേണമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

7. Then sayde his sister to Pharaos daughter: shall I go and call to thee a nurse of the Hebrues women, to nurse thee the chylde?

8. ഫറവോന്റെ പുത്രി അവളോടുചെന്നു കൊണ്ടു വരിക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. കന്യക ചെന്നു പൈതലിന്റെ അമ്മയെ വിളിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

8. Pharaos daughter aunswered her: go. And the mayde ranne and called the chyldes mother.

9. ഫറവോന്റെ പുത്രി അവളോടുനീ ഈ പൈതലിനെ കൊണ്ടുപോയി മുലകൊടുത്തു വളര്ത്തേണം; ഞാന് നിനക്കു ശമ്പളം തരാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. സ്ത്രി പൈതലിനെ എടുത്തു കൊണ്ടുപോയി മുലകൊടുത്തു വളര്ത്തി.

9. To whom Pharaos daughter sayde: Take this chylde away, and nurse it for me, and I wyll rewarde thee. And the woman toke the chylde, & nursed it vp.

10. പൈതല് വളര്ന്നശേഷം അവള് അവനെ ഫറവോന്റെ പുത്രിയുടെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടു പോയി, അവന് അവള്ക്കു മകനായിഞാന് അവനെ വെള്ളത്തില് നിന്നു വലിച്ചെടുത്തു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവള് അവന്നു മോശെ എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.

10. The chylde grewe, and she brought it vnto Pharaos daughter, and it was made her sonne. And she called ye name of it Moyses: because [sayde she] I toke hym out of the water.

11. ആ കാലത്തു മോശെ മുതിര്ന്നശേഷം അവന് തന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നു അവരുടെ ഭാരമുള്ള വേല നോക്കി, തന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരില് ഒരു എബ്രായനെ ഒരു മിസ്രയീമ്യന് അടിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു.

11. And in those dayes, when Moyses was waxed great, he went out vnto his brethren, & loked on their burdens, and spyed an Egyptian smytyng an Hebrue which was one of his brethren.

12. അവന് അങ്ങോട്ടും ഇങ്ങോട്ടും നോക്കീട്ടു ആരും ഇല്ലെന്നു കണ്ടപ്പോള് മിസ്രയീമ്യനെ അടിച്ചു കൊന്നു മണലില് മറവുചെയ്തു.

12. And he loked rounde about, and when he sawe no man by, he slewe the Egyptian, and hyd hym in the sande.

13. പിറ്റേ ദിവസവും അവന് ചെന്നപ്പോള് രണ്ടു എബ്രായ പുരുഷന്മാര് തമ്മില് ശണ്ഠയിടുന്നതു കണ്ടു, അന്യായം ചെയ്തവനോടുനിന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരനെ അടിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

13. And when he was gone out another day, beholde, two men of the Hebrues stroue together: And he saide vnto him that dyd the wrong, Wherefore smytest thou thy felowe?

14. അതിന്നു അവന് നിന്നെ ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു പ്രഭുവും ന്യായാധിപതിയും ആക്കിയവന് ആര്? മിസ്രയീമ്യനെ കൊന്നതുപോലെ എന്നെയും കൊല്ലുവാന് ഭാവിക്കുന്നുവോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. അപ്പോള് കാര്യം പ്രസിദ്ധമായിപ്പോയല്ലോ എന്നു മോശെ പറഞ്ഞു പേടിച്ചു.

14. He aunswered: Who made thee a man of aucthoritie and a iudge ouer vs? intendest thou to kyll me, as thou kylledst the Egyptian? And Moyses feared and sayde: Of a suretie this thyng is knowen.

15. ഫറവോന് ഈ കാര്യം കേട്ടാറെ മോശെയെ കൊല്ലുവാന് അന്വേഷിച്ചു. മോശെ ഫറവോന്റെ സന്നിധിയില്നിന്നു ഔടിപ്പോയി, മിദ്യാന് ദേശത്തു ചെന്നു പാര്ത്തു; അവന് ഒരു കിണറ്റിന്നരികെ ഇരുന്നു.

15. And Pharao heard of it, and went about to slaye Moyses. And Moyses fleyng from the face of Pharao, dwelt in the lande of Madian: and he sate downe by the welles syde.

16. മിദ്യാനിലെ പുരോഹിതന്നു ഏഴു പുത്രിമാര് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അവര് വന്നു അപ്പന്റെ ആടുകള്ക്കു കുടിപ്പാന് വെള്ളം കോരി തൊട്ടികള് നിറെച്ചു.

16. The priest of Madian had vij. daughters, which came and drewe [water] and filled the troughes for to water their fathers sheepe.

17. എന്നാല് ഇടയന്മാര് വന്നു അവരെ ആട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞുഅപ്പോള് മോശെ എഴുന്നേറ്റു അവരെ സഹായിച്ചു അവരുടെ ആടുകളെ കുടിപ്പിച്ചു.

17. And the shepheardes came and droue them away: but Moyses stoode vp and helped them, and watred their sheepe.

18. അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ അപ്പനായ റെഗൂവേലിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നപ്പോള്നിങ്ങള് ഇന്നു ഇത്രവേഗം വന്നതു എങ്ങനെ എന്നു അവന് ചോദിച്ചു.

18. And when they came to Raguel their father, he sayde: Howe came it to passe that ye are come so soone to day?

19. ഒരു മിസ്രയീമ്യന് ഇടയന്മാരുടെ കയ്യില്നിന്നു ഞങ്ങളെ വിടുവിച്ചു, ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു വെള്ളം കോരിത്തന്നു ആടുകളെ കുടിപ്പിച്ചു എന്നു അവര് പറഞ്ഞു.

19. And they aunswered: A man of Egypt deliuered vs from the handes of the shepheardes, and so drewe vs water, and watered the sheepe.

20. അവന് തന്റെ പുത്രിമാരോടുഅവന് എവിടെ? നിങ്ങള് അവനെ വിട്ടേച്ചു പോന്നതെന്തു? ഭക്ഷണം കഴിപ്പാന് അവനെ വിളിപ്പിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

20. He saide vnto his daughters: & where is he? why haue ye so left the man? Call hym, that he may eate bread.

21. മോശെക്കു അവനോടുകൂടെ പാര്പ്പാന് സമ്മതമായി; അവന് മോശെക്കു തന്റെ മകള് സിപ്പോറയെ കൊടുത്തു.

21. And Moyses was content to dwell with the man: & he gaue Moyses Sephora his daughter:

22. അവള് ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചുഞാന് അന്യദേശത്തു പരദേശി ആയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു അവന്നു ഗേര്ശോം എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.

22. Which bare him a sonne, and he called his name Gershom: For he saide, I haue ben a straunger in a straunge land.

23. ഏറെ നാള് കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു മിസ്രയീംരാജാവു മരിച്ചു. യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് അടിമവേല നിമിത്തം നെടുവീര്പ്പിട്ടു നിലവിളിച്ചു; അടിമവേല ഹേതുവായുള്ള നിലവിള ദൈവസന്നിധിയില് എത്തി.

23. And in processe of tyme the kyng of Egypt dyed, and the chyldren of Israel syghed by the reason of bondage, and cryed.

24. ദൈവം അവരുടെ നിലവിളി കേട്ടു; ദൈവം അബ്രാഹാമിനോടും യിസ്ഹാക്കിനോടും യാക്കോബിനോടും തനിക്കുള്ള നിയമവും ഔര്ത്തു.

24. And their complaynt came vp vnto God from the bondage: and God heard their mone, and God remembred his couenaunt with Abraham, Isahac, and Iacob.

25. ദൈവം യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളെ കടാക്ഷിച്ചു; ദൈവം അറിഞ്ഞു.

25. And God loked vpon the chyldren of Israel, and God had respecte vnto them.
