1. അവരുടെ മുമ്പാകെ നീ വെക്കേണ്ടുന്ന ന്യായങ്ങളാവിതു

1. Now these [are] the judgments which thou shalt set before them.

2. ഒരു എബ്രായദാസനെ വിലെക്കു വാങ്ങിയാല് ആറു സംവത്സരം സേവിച്ചിട്ടു ഏഴാം സംവത്സരത്തില് അവന് ഒന്നും കൊടുക്കാതെ സ്വതന്ത്രനായി പൊയ്ക്കൊള്ളട്ടെ.
യോഹന്നാൻ 8:35

2. If thou shalt buy an Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve: and in the seventh he shall depart free for nothing.

3. ഏകനായി വന്നു എങ്കില് ഏകനായി പോകട്ടെ; അവന്നു ഭാര്യയുണ്ടായിരുന്നു എങ്കില് ഭാര്യയും അവനോടുകൂടെ പോകട്ടെ.

3. If he came in by himself, he shall depart by himself: if he was married, then his wife shall depart with him.

4. അവന്റെ യജമാനന് അവന്നു ഭാര്യയെ കൊടുക്കയും അവള് അവന്നു പുത്രന്മാരെയോ പുത്രിമാരെയോ പ്രസവിക്കയും ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കില് ഭാര്യയും മക്കളും യജമാനന്നു ഇരിക്കേണം; അവന് ഏകനായി പോകേണം.

4. If his master hath given him a wife, and she hath borne him sons or daughters; the wife and her children shall be her master's, and he shall depart by himself.

5. എന്നാല് ദാസന് ഞാന് എന്റെ യജമാനനെയും എന്റെ ഭാര്യയെയും മക്കളെയും സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു; ഞാന് സ്വതന്ത്രനായി പോകയില്ല എന്നു തീര്ത്തു പറഞ്ഞാല്

5. And if the servant shall plainly say, I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not depart free:

6. യജമാനന് അവനെ ദൈവസന്നിധിയില് കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു ചെന്നു കതകിന്റെയോ കട്ടളക്കാലിന്റെയോ അടുക്കല് നിറുത്തീട്ടു സൂചികൊണ്ടു അവന്റെ കാതു കുത്തി തുളക്കേണം; പിന്നെ അവന് എന്നേക്കും അവന്നു ദാസനായിരിക്കേണം.

6. Then his master shall bring him to the judges; he shall also bring him to the door, or to the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an awl; and he shall serve him for ever.

7. ഒരുത്തന് തന്റെ പുത്രിയെ ദാസിയായി വിറ്റാല് അവള് ദാസന്മാര് പോകുന്നതു പോലെ പോകരുതു.

7. And if a man shall sell his daughter to be a female slave, she shall not depart as the male slaves do.

8. അവളെ തനിക്കു സംബന്ധത്തിന്നു നിയമിച്ച യജമാനന്നു അവളെ ബോധിക്കാതിരുന്നാല് അവളെ വീണ്ടെടുപ്പാന് അവന് അനുവദിക്കേണം; അവളെ ചതിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു അന്യജാതിക്കു വിറ്റുകളവാന് അവന്നു അധികാരമില്ല.

8. If she shall not please her master, who hath betrothed her to himself, then shall he let her be redeemed: to sell her to a strange nation he shall have no power, seeing he hath dealt deceitfully with her.

9. അവന് അവളെ തന്റെ പുത്രന്നു നിയമിച്ചു എങ്കില് പുത്രിമാരുടെ ന്യായത്തിന്നു തക്കവണ്ണം അവളോടു പെരുമാറേണം.

9. And if he hath betrothed her to his son, he shall deal with her after the manner of daughters.

10. അവന് മറ്റൊരുത്തിയെ പരിഗ്രഹിച്ചാല് ഇവളുടെ ഉപജീവനവും ഉടുപ്പും വിവാഹമുറയും കുറെക്കരുതു.

10. If he shall take him another [wife]; her food, her raiment, and her duty of marriage, shall he not diminish.

11. ഈ മൂന്നു കാര്യവും അവന് അവള്ക്കു ചെയ്യാതിരുന്നാല് അവളെ പണം വാങ്ങാതെ വെറുതെ വിട്ടയക്കേണം.

11. And if he shall not perform these three [things] for her, then shall she depart free without money.

12. ഒരു മനുഷ്യനെ അടിച്ചുകൊല്ലുന്നവന് മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കേണം.
മത്തായി 5:21

12. He that smiteth a man, so that he die, shall be surely put to death.

13. അവന് കരുതിക്കൂട്ടാതെ അങ്ങനെ അവന്റെ കയ്യാല് സംഭവിപ്പാന് ദൈവം സംഗതിവരുത്തിയതായാല് അവന് ഔടിപ്പോകേണ്ടുന്ന സ്ഥലം ഞാന് നിയമിക്കും.

13. And if a man shall not lie in wait, but God shall deliver [him] into his hand; then I will appoint thee a place where he shall flee.

14. എന്നാല് ഒരുത്തല് കരുതിക്കൂട്ടി കൂട്ടുകാരനെ ചതിച്ചു കൊന്നതെങ്കില് അവന് മരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ അവനെ എന്റെ യാഗപീഠത്തിങ്കല് നിന്നും പിടിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുപോകേണം.

14. But if a man shall come presumptuously upon his neighbour, to slay him with guile; thou shalt take him from my altar, that he may die.

15. തന്റെ അപ്പനെയോ അമ്മയെയോ അടിക്കുന്നവന് മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കേണം.

15. And he that smiteth his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death.

16. ഒരുത്തന് ഒരാളെ മോഷ്ടിച്ചിട്ടു അവനെ വില്ക്കയാകട്ടെ അവന്റെ കൈവശം അവനെ കണ്ടുപിടിക്കയാകട്ടെ ചെയ്താല് അവന് മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കേണം.

16. And he that stealeth a man, and selleth him, or if he shall be found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death.

17. തന്റെ അപ്പനെയോ അമ്മയെയോ ശപിക്കുന്നവന് മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കേണം.
മത്തായി 15:4, മർക്കൊസ് 7:10

17. And he that curseth his father, or his mother, shall surely be put to death.

18. മനുഷ്യര് തമ്മില് ശണ്ഠകൂടീട്ടു ഒരുത്തന് മറ്റവനെ കല്ലുകൊണ്ടോ മുഷ്ടികൊണ്ടോ കുത്തിയതിനാല് അവന് മരിച്ചുപോകാതെ കിടപ്പിലാകയും

18. And if men contend together, and one shall smite another with a stone, or with [his] fist, and he shall not die, but keepeth [to] [his] bed:

19. പിന്നെയും എഴുന്നേറ്റു വടി ഊന്നി വെളിയില് നടക്കയും ചെയ്താല് കുത്തിയവനെ ശിക്ഷിക്കരുതു; എങ്കിലും അവന് അവന്റെ മിനക്കേടിന്നുവേണ്ടി കൊടുത്തു അവനെ നല്ലവണ്ണം ചികിത്സിപ്പിക്കേണം.

19. If he shall rise again, and walk abroad upon his staff, then shall he that smote [him] be clear: only he shall pay [for] the loss of his time, and shall cause [him] to be thoroughly healed.

20. ഒരുത്തന് തന്റെ ദാസനെയോ ദാസിയെയോ തല്ക്ഷണം മരിച്ചുപോകത്തക്കവണ്ണം വടികൊണ്ടു അടിച്ചാല് അവനെ നിശ്ചയമായി ശിക്ഷിക്കേണം.

20. And if a man shall smite his male or female servant, with a rod, and he shall die under his hand; he shall be surely punished.

21. എങ്കിലും അവന് ഒന്നു രണ്ടു ദിവസം ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നാല് അവനെ ശിക്ഷിക്കരുതു; അവന് അവന്റെ മുതലല്ലോ.

21. However, if he shall continue a day or two, he shall not be punished: for he [is] his money.

22. മനുഷ്യര് തമ്മില് ശണ്ഠകൂടീട്ടു ഗര്ഭിണിയായ ഒരു സ്ത്രീയെ അടിച്ചതിനാല് ഗര്ഭം അലസിയതല്ലാതെ അവള്ക്കു മറ്റൊരു ദോഷവും വന്നില്ലെങ്കില് അടിച്ചവന് ആ സ്ത്രീയുടെ ഭര്ത്താവു ചുമത്തുന്ന പിഴ കൊടുക്കേണം; ന്യായാധിപന്മാര് വിധിക്കുമ്പോലെ അവന് കൊടുക്കേണം.

22. If men shall contend, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit shall depart [from her], and yet no harm follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges [determine].

23. മറ്റു ദോഷം വന്നിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കില് ജീവന്നു പകരം ജീവന് കൊടുക്കേണം.

23. And if [any] harm shall follow, then thou shalt give life for life,

24. കണ്ണിന്നു പകരം കണ്ണു; പല്ലിന്നു പകരം പല്ലു; കൈകൂ പകരം കൈ; കാലിന്നു പകരം കാല്;
മത്തായി 5:38

24. Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,

25. പൊള്ളലിന്നു പകരം പൊള്ളല്; മുറിവിന്നു പകരം മുറിവു; തിണര്പ്പിന്നു പകരം തിണര്പ്പു.

25. Burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.

26. ഒരുത്തന് അടിച്ചു തന്റെ ദാസന്റെയോ ദാസിയുടെയോ കണ്ണു കളഞ്ഞാല് അവന് കണ്ണിന്നു പകരം അവനെ സ്വതന്ത്രനായി വിട്ടയക്കേണം.

26. And if a man shall smite the eye of his male servant, or the eye of his female servant, that it shall perish; he shall let him go free for his eye's sake.

27. അവന് തന്റെ ദാസന്റെയോ ദാസിയുടെയോ പല്ലുഅടിച്ചു തകര്ത്താല് അവന് പല്ലിന്നു പകരം അവനെ സ്വതന്ത്രനായി വിട്ടയക്കേണം.

27. And if he shall smite out his male servant's tooth, or his female servant's tooth; he shall let him go free for his tooth's sake.

28. ഒരു കാള ഒരു പുരുഷനെയോ സ്ത്രീയെയോ കുത്തിക്കൊന്നാല് ആ കാളയെ കല്ലെറിഞ്ഞു കൊല്ലേണം; അതിന്റെ മാംസം തിന്നരുതു; കാളയുടെ ഉടമസ്ഥനോ കുറ്റമില്ലാത്തവന് .

28. If an ox shall gore a man or a woman, that they die: then the ox shall be surely stoned, and his flesh shall not be eaten; but the owner of the ox [shall be] clear.

29. എന്നാല് ആ കാള മുമ്പെ തന്നേ കുത്തുന്നതായും ഉടമസ്ഥന് അതു അറിഞ്ഞുമിരിക്കെ അവന് അതിനെ സൂക്ഷിക്കായ്കകൊണ്ടു അതു ഒരു പുരുഷനെയോ സ്ത്രീയെയോ കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞാല് ആ കാളയെ കല്ലെറിഞ്ഞു കൊല്ലേണം; അതിന്റെ ഉടമസ്ഥനും മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കേണം.

29. But if the ox was accustomed to push with his horn in time past, and it hath been testified to his owner, and he hath not restrained him, but that he hath killed a man or a woman; the ox shall be stoned, and his owner also shall be put to death.

30. ഉദ്ധാരണ ദ്രവ്യം അവന്റെ മോല് ചുമത്തിയാല് തന്റെ ജീവന്റെ വീണ്ടെടുപ്പിന്നായി തന്റെ മേല് ചുമത്തിയതു ഒക്കെയും അവന് കൊടുക്കേണം.

30. If there shall be laid on him a sum of money, then he shall give for the ransom of his life whatever is laid upon him.

31. അതു ഒരു ബാലനെ കുത്തിയാലും ഒരു ബാലയെ കുത്തിയാലും ഈ ന്യായപ്രകാരം അവനോടു ചെയ്യേണം.

31. Whether he hath gored a son, or hath gored a daughter, according to this judgment shall it be done to him.

32. കാള ഒരു ദാസനെയോ ദാസിയെയോ കുത്തിയാല് അവന് അവരുടെ ഉടമസ്ഥന്നു മുപ്പതു ശേക്കെല് വെള്ളി കൊടുക്കേണം; കാളയെ കൊന്നുകളകയും വേണം.
മത്തായി 26:15

32. If the ox shall push a male or female servant; he shall give to their master thirty shekels of silver, and the ox shall be stoned.

33. ഒരുത്തന് ഒരു കുഴി തുറന്നുവെക്കുകയോ കുഴി കുഴിച്ചു അതിനെ മൂടാതിരിക്കയോ ചെയ്തിട്ടു അതില് ഒരു കാളയോ കഴുതയോ വീണാല്,

33. And if a man shall open a pit, or if a man shall dig a pit, and not cover it, and an ox or a donkey shall fall into it;

34. കുഴിയുടെ ഉടമസ്ഥന് വലികൊടുത്തു അതിന്റെ യജമാനന്നു തൃപ്തിവരുത്തേണം; എന്നാല് ചത്തുപോയതു അവന്നുള്ളതായിരിക്കേണം.

34. The owner of the pit shall make payment, [and] give money to the owner of them; and the dead [beast] shall be his.

35. ഒരുത്തന്റെ കാള മറ്റൊരുത്തന്റെ കാളയെ കുത്തീട്ടു അതു ചത്തുപോയാല് അവര് ജീവനോടിരിക്കുന്ന കാളയെ വിറ്റു അതിന്റെ വില പകുത്തെടുക്കേണം; ചത്തുപോയതിനെയും പകുത്തെടുക്കേണം.

35. And if one man's ox shall hurt another's, that he shall die; then they shall sell the live ox, and divide the money of it; and the dead [ox] also they shall divide.

36. അല്ലെങ്കില് ആ കാള മുമ്പെ തന്നേ കുത്തുന്നതു എന്നു അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടും ഉടമസ്ഥന് അതിനെ സൂക്ഷിക്കാതിരുന്നു എങ്കില് അവന് കാളെക്കു പകരം കാളയെ കൊടുക്കേണം; എന്നാല് ചത്തുപോയതു അവന്നുള്ളതായിരിക്കേണം.

36. Or if it shall be known that the ox was accustomed to push in time past, and his owner hath not restrained him; he shall surely pay ox for ox; and the dead shall be his own.
