1. ഹൃദയത്തിലെ നിരൂപണങ്ങള് മനുഷ്യന്നുള്ളവ; നാവിന്റെ ഉത്തരമോ യഹോവയാല് വരുന്നു.

1. People may make plans in their minds, but only the Lord can make them come true.

2. മനുഷ്യന്നു തന്റെ വഴികളൊക്കെയും വെടിപ്പായി തോന്നുന്നു; യഹോവയോ ആത്മാക്കളെ തൂക്കിനോക്കുന്നു.

2. You may believe you are doing right, but the Lord will judge your reasons.

3. നിന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തികളെ യഹോവേക്കു സമര്പ്പിക്ക; എന്നാല് നിന്റെ ഉദ്ദേശങ്ങള് സാധിക്കും.

3. Depend on the Lord in whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.

4. The Lord makes everything go as he pleases. He has even prepared a day of disaster for evil people.

5. ഗര്വ്വമുള്ള ഏവനും യഹോവേക്കു വെറുപ്പു; അവന്നു ശിക്ഷ വരാതിരിക്കയില്ല എന്നതിന്നു ഞാന് കയ്യടിക്കുന്നു.

5. The Lord hates those who are proud. They will surely be punished.

6. ദയയും വിശ്വസ്തതയുംകൊണ്ടു അകൃത്യം പരിഹരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു; യഹോവാഭക്തികൊണ്ടു മനുഷ്യര് ദോഷത്തെ വിട്ടകലുന്നു.

6. Love and truth bring forgiveness of sin. By respecting the Lord you will avoid evil.

7. ഒരുത്തന്റെ വഴികള് യഹോവേക്കു ഇഷ്ടമായിരിക്കുമ്പോള് അവന് അവന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളെയും അവനോടു ഇണക്കുന്നു.

7. When people live so that they please the Lord, even their enemies will make peace with them.

8. ന്യായരഹിതമായ വലിയ വരവിനെക്കാള് നീതിയോടെയുള്ള അല്പം നല്ലതു.

8. It is better to be poor and right than to be wealthy and dishonest.

9. മനുഷ്യന്റെ ഹൃദയം തന്റെ വഴിയെ നിരൂപിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ കാലടികളെയോ യഹോവ ക്രമപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു.

9. People may make plans in their minds, but the Lord decides what they will do.

10. രാജാവിന്റെ അധരങ്ങളില് അരുളപ്പാടുണ്ടു; ന്യായവിധിയില് അവന്റെ വായ് പിഴെക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.

10. The words of a king are like a message from God, so his decisions should be fair.

11. ഒത്ത വെള്ളിക്കോലും ത്രാസും യഹോവേക്കുള്ളവ; സഞ്ചിയിലെ പടി ഒക്കെയും അവന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിയാകുന്നു.

11. The Lord wants honest balances and scales; all the weights are his work.

12. ദുഷ്ടത പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുന്നതു രാജാക്കന്മാര്ക്കും വെറുപ്പു; നീതികൊണ്ടല്ലോ സിംഹാസനം സ്ഥിരപ്പെടുന്നതു.

12. Kings hate those who do wrong, because governments only continue if they are fair.

13. നീതിയുള്ള അധരങ്ങള് രാജാക്കന്മാര്ക്കും പ്രസാദം; നേര് പറയുന്നവനെ അവര് സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു.

13. Kings like honest people; they value someone who speaks the truth.

14. രാജാവിന്റെ ക്രോധം മരണദൂതന്നു തുല്യം; ജ്ഞാനമുള്ള മനുഷ്യനോ അതിനെ ശമിപ്പിക്കും.

14. An angry king can put someone to death, so a wise person will try to make him happy.

15. രാജാവിന്റെ മുഖപ്രകാശത്തില് ജീവന് ഉണ്ടു; അവന്റെ പ്രസാദം പിന്മഴെക്കുള്ള മേഘം പോലെയാകുന്നു.

15. A smiling king can give people life; his kindness is like a spring shower.

16. തങ്കത്തെക്കാള് ജ്ഞാനത്തെ സമ്പാദിക്കുന്നതു എത്ര നല്ലതു! വെള്ളിയെക്കാള് വിവേകം സമ്പാദിക്കുന്നതു എത്ര ഉത്തമം!

16. It is better to get wisdom than gold, and to choose understanding rather than silver!

17. ദോഷം അകറ്റിനടക്കുന്നതു നേരുള്ളവരുടെ പെരുവഴി; തന്റെ വഴി സൂക്ഷിക്കുന്നവന് തന്റെ പ്രാണനെ കാത്തുകൊള്ളുന്നു.

17. Good people stay away from evil. By watching what they do, they protect their lives.

18. നാശത്തിന്നു മുമ്പെ ഗര്വ്വം; വീഴ്ചകൂ മുമ്പെ ഉന്നതഭാവം.

18. Pride will destroy a person; a proud attitude leads to ruin.

19. ഗര്വ്വികളോടുകൂടെ കവര്ച്ച പങ്കിടുന്നതിനെക്കാള് താഴ്മയുള്ളവരോടുകൂടെ താഴ്മയുള്ളവനായിരിക്കുന്നതു നല്ലതു.

19. It is better to be humble and be with those who suffer than to share stolen property with the proud.

20. തിരുവചനം പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നവന് നന്മ കണ്ടെത്തും; യഹോവയില് ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നവന് ഭാഗ്യവാന് .

20. Whoever listens to what is taught will succeed, and whoever trusts the Lord will be happy.

21. ജ്ഞാനഹൃദയന് വിവേകി എന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടും; അധരമാധുര്യം വിദ്യയെ വര്ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

21. The wise are known for their understanding. Their pleasant words make them better teachers.

22. വിവേകം വിവേകിക്കു ജീവന്റെ ഉറവാകുന്നു. ഭോഷന്മാരുടെ പ്രബോധനമോ ഭോഷത്വം തന്നേ.

22. Understanding is like a fountain which gives life to those who use it, but foolishness brings punishment to fools.

23. ജ്ഞാനിയുടെ ഹൃദയം അവന്റെ വായെ പഠിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ അധരങ്ങള്ക്കു വിദ്യ വര്ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

23. Wise people's minds tell them what to say, and that helps them be better teachers.

24. ഇമ്പമുള്ള വാക്കു തേന് കട്ടയാകുന്നു; മനസ്സിന്നു മധുരവും അസ്ഥികള്ക്കു ഔഷധവും തന്നേ;

24. Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, making people happy and healthy.

25. ചിലപ്പോള് ഒരു വഴി മനുഷ്യന്നു ചൊവ്വായി തോന്നുന്നു. അതിന്റെ അവസാനമോ മരണവഴികള് അത്രേ.

25. Some people think they are doing right, but in the end it leads to death.

26. പണിക്കാരന്റെ വിശപ്പു അവനെക്കൊണ്ടു പണി ചെയ്യിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ വായ് അവനെ അതിന്നായി നിര്ബ്ബന്ധിക്കുന്നു.

26. The workers' hunger helps them, because their desire to eat makes them work.

27. നിസ്സാരമനുഷ്യന് പാതകം എന്ന കുഴികുഴിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ അധരങ്ങളില് കത്തുന്ന തീ ഉണ്ടു.

27. Useless people make evil plans, and their words are like a burning fire.

28. വക്രതയുള്ള മനുഷ്യന് വഴക്കു ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നു; ഏഷണിക്കാരന് മിത്രങ്ങളെ ഭേദിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

28. A useless person causes trouble, and a gossip ruins friendships.

29. സഹാസക്കാരന് കൂട്ടുകാരനെ വശീകരിക്കയും കൊള്ളരുതാത്ത വഴിയില് നടത്തുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

29. Cruel people trick their neighbors and lead them to do wrong.

30. കണ്ണു അടെക്കുന്നവന് വക്രത നിരൂപിക്കുന്നു; വപ്പു കടിക്കുന്നവന് ദോഷം നിവര്ത്തിക്കുന്നു.

30. Someone who winks is planning evil, and the one who grins is planning something wrong.

31. നരച്ച തല ശോഭയുള്ള കിരീടമാകുന്നു; നീതിയുടെ മാര്ഗ്ഗത്തില് അതിനെ പ്രാപിക്കാം.

31. Gray hair is like a crown of honor; it is earned by living a good life.

32. ദീര്ഘക്ഷമയുള്ളവന് യുദ്ധവീരനിലും ജിതമാനസന് പട്ടണം പിടിക്കുന്നവനിലും ശ്രേഷ്ഠന് .

32. Patience is better than strength. Controlling your temper is better than capturing a city.

33. ചീട്ടു മടിയില് ഇടുന്നു; അതിന്റെ വിധാനമോ യഹോവയാലത്രേ.
