1. ഞാന് ശാരോനിലെ പനിനീര്പുഷ്പവും താഴ്വരകളിലെ താമരപ്പൂവും ആകുന്നു.

1. I [am] the lily of the field [[Heb. Sharon]] [and] the rose of the valleys.

2. മുള്ളുകളുടെ ഇടയില് താമരപോലെ കന്യകമാരുടെ ഇടയില് എന്റെ പ്രിയ ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

2. As the lily among thorns, so [is] my love among the virgins.

3. കാട്ടുമരങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് ഒരു നാരകംപോലെ യൌവനക്കാരുടെ ഇടയില് എന്റെ പ്രിയന് ഇരിക്കുന്നു; അതിന്റെ നിഴലില് ഞാന് അതിമോദത്തോടെ ഇരുന്നു; അതിന്റെ പഴം എന്റെ രുചിക്കു മധുരമായിരുന്നു.

3. As the apple tree among the trees of the wild, so [is] my beloved among the sons. [I] desired to [sit] under his shadow, and his fruit [was] sweet to my taste.

4. അവന് എന്നെ വീഞ്ഞുവീട്ടിലേക്കു കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു; എന്റെ മീതെ അവന് പിടിച്ചിരുന്ന കൊടി സ്നേഹമായിരുന്നു.

4. He brought me to the wine chamber and placed his banner of love over me.

5. ഞാന് പ്രേമപരവശയായിരിക്കയാല് മുന്തിരിയട തന്നു എന്നെ ശക്തീകരിപ്പിന് ; നാരങ്ങാ തന്നു എന്നെ തണുപ്പിപ്പിന് .

5. Sustain me with flagons [of wine], strengthen me with apples; for I [am] sick with love.

6. അവന്റെ ഇടങ്കൈ എന്റെ തലയിന് കീഴെ ഇരിക്കട്ടെ; അവന്റെ വലങ്കൈ എന്നെ ആശ്ളേഷിക്കട്ടെ.

6. His left hand [is] under my head, and his right hand embraces me.

7. യെരൂശലേംപുത്രിമാരേ, വയലിലെ ചെറുമാനുകളാണ, പേടമാനുകളാണ, പ്രേമത്തിന്നു ഇഷ്ടമാകുവോളം അതിനെ ഇളക്കരുതു, ഉണര്ത്തുകയുമരുതു.

7. I charge you, O ye virgins of Jerusalem, by the roes and by the hinds of the field that ye not awake nor stir up love, until he pleases.

8. അതാ, എന്റെ പ്രിയന്റെ സ്വരം! അവന് മലകളിന്മേല് ചാടിയും കുന്നുകളിന്മേല് കുതിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു വരുന്നു.

8. The voice of my beloved! behold, he comes leaping over the mountains, skipping over the hills.

9. എന്റെ പ്രിയന് ചെറുമാനിന്നും കലകൂട്ടിക്കും തുല്യന് ; ഇതാ, അവന് നമ്മുടെ മതിലക്കു പുറമേ നിലക്കുന്നു; അവന് കിളിവാതിലൂടെ നോക്കുന്നു; അഴിക്കിടയില്കൂടി ഉളിഞ്ഞുനോക്കുന്നു.

9. My beloved is like a roe or a young hart; behold, he stands behind our wall; he looks through the windows, blossoming through the lattice.

10. എന്റെ പ്രിയന് എന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞതുഎന്റെ പ്രിയേ, എഴുന്നേല്ക്ക; എന്റെ സുന്ദരീ, വരിക.

10. My beloved spoke and said unto me, Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away.

11. ശീതകാലം കഴിഞ്ഞു; മഴയും മാറിപ്പോയല്ലോ.

11. For, behold, the winter is past; the rain is over [and] gone;

12. പുഷ്പങ്ങള് ഭൂമിയില് കാണായ്വരുന്നു; വള്ളിത്തല മുറിക്കുംകാലം വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; കുറുപ്രാവിന്റെ ശബ്ദവും നമ്മുടെ നാട്ടില് കേള്ക്കുന്നു.

12. the flowers appear on the earth; the time of the song is come, and the voice of the turtle [dove] has been heard in our land;

13. അത്തിക്കായ്കള് പഴുക്കുന്നു; മുന്തിരിവള്ളി പൂത്തു സുഗന്ധം വീശുന്നു; എന്റെ പ്രിയേ, എഴുന്നേല്ക്ക; എന്റെ സുന്ദരീ, വരിക.

13. the fig tree has put forth her [green] figs, and the vines in blossom have given forth [their] fragrance. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away.

14. പാറയുടെ പിളര്പ്പിലും കടുന്തൂക്കിന്റെ മറവിലും ഇരിക്കുന്ന എന്റെ പ്രാവേ, ഞാന് നിന്റെ മുഖം ഒന്നു കാണട്ടെ; നിന്റെ സ്വരം ഒന്നു കേള്ക്കട്ടെ; നിന്റെ സ്വരം ഇമ്പമുള്ളതും മുഖം സൌന്ദര്യമുള്ളതും ആകുന്നു.

14. O my dove, [that art] in the clefts of the rock, in the secret [places] of the stairs, let me see thy countenance, let me hear thy voice; for sweet [is] thy voice, and thy countenance [is] beautiful.

15. ഞങ്ങളുടെ മുന്തിരത്തോട്ടങ്ങള് പൂത്തിരിക്കയാല് മുന്തിരിവള്ളി നശിപ്പിക്കുന്ന കുറുക്കന്മാരെ, ചെറുകുറുക്കന്മാരെ തന്നേ പിടിച്ചുതരുവിന് .

15. Hunt the foxes [for] us, the little foxes, that spoil the vines; for our vines [are] in blossom.

16. എന്റെ പ്രിയന് എനിക്കുള്ളവന് ; ഞാന് അവന്നുള്ളവള്; അവന് താമരകളുടെ ഇടയില് ആടുമേയക്കുന്നു.

16. My beloved [is] mine, and I [am] his; he feeds among the lilies.

17. വെയിലാറി, നിഴല് കാണാതെയാകുവോളം, എന്റെ പ്രിയനേ, നീ മടങ്ങി ദുര്ഘടപര്വ്വതങ്ങളിലെ ചെറുമാനിന്നും കലകൂട്ടിക്കും തുല്യനായിരിക്ക.

17. Until the day breaks and the shadows flee away, return, my beloved, and be thou like a roe or a young hart upon the mountains of Bether.:
