1. ജാതികളേ, അടുത്തുവന്നു കേള്പ്പിന് ; വംശങ്ങളേ, ശ്രദ്ധതരുവിന് ; ഭൂമിയും അതിന്റെ നിറവും ഭൂതലവും അതില് മുളെക്കുന്നതൊക്കെയും കേള്ക്കട്ടെ.

1. Come ye heathen and hear, take heed ye people. Hearken thou earth and all that is therein: thou round compass and all that groweth there upon,

2. യഹോവേക്കു സകലജാതികളോടും കോപവും അവരുടെ സര്വ്വസൈന്യത്തോടും ക്രോധവും ഉണ്ടു; അവന് അവരെ ശപഥാര്പ്പിതമായി കുലെക്കു ഏല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

2. for the LORD is angry with all people, and his displeasure is kindled against all the multitude of them, to curse them, and to slay them.

3. അവരുടെ ഹതന്മാരെ എറിഞ്ഞുകളയും; അവരുടെ ശവങ്ങളില്നിന്നു നാറ്റം പുറപ്പെടും; അവരുടെ രക്തം കൊണ്ടു മലകള് ഒഴുകിപ്പോകും.

3. So that their slain shall be cast out, and their bodies stink: that even the very hills shall be wet with the blood of them.

4. ആകാശത്തിലെ സൈന്യമെല്ലാം അലിഞ്ഞുപോകും; ആകാശവും ഒരു ചുരുള്പോലെ ചുരുണ്ടുപോകും; അതിനെ സൈന്യമൊക്കെയും മുന്തിരിവള്ളിയുടെ ഇല വാടി പൊഴിയുന്നതുപോലെയും അത്തിവൃക്ഷത്തിന്റെ കായ് വാടി പൊഴിയുന്നതുപോലെയും പൊഴിഞ്ഞുപോകും.

4. All the stars of heaven shall be consumed, and the heaven shall fold together like a roll, and all the stars thereof shall fall, like as the leaves fall from the vines and fig trees.

5. എന്റെ വാള് സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില് ലഹരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അതു എദോമിന്മേലും എന്റെ ശപഥാര്പ്പിതജാതിയുടെമേലും ന്യായവിധിക്കായി ഇറങ്ങിവരും.

5. For my sword (sayeth he) shall be bathed in heaven, and shall immediately come down upon Idumea, and upon the people which I have cursed for my vengeance.

6. യഹോവയുടെ വാള് രക്തം പുരണ്ടും കൊഴുപ്പു പൊതിഞ്ഞും ഇരിക്കുന്നു; കുഞ്ഞാടുകളുടെയും കോലാടുകളുടെയും രക്തം കൊണ്ടും ആട്ടുകൊറ്റന്മാരുടെ മൂത്രപിണ്ഡങ്ങളുടെ കൊഴുപ്പുംകൊണ്ടും തന്നേ; യഹോവേക്കു ബൊസ്രയില് ഒരു യാഗവും എദോംദേശത്തു ഒരു മഹാസംഹാരവും ഉണ്ടു.

6. And the LORD's sword shall be full of blood, and be rusty with the fatness and blood of lambs and goats, with the fatness of the kidneys of wethers. For the LORD shall kill a great offering in Bosra. and in the land of Idumea.

7. അവയോടുകൂടെ കാട്ടുപോത്തുകളും കാളകളോടുകൂടെ മൂരികളും വീഴും; അവരുടെ ദേശം രക്തം കുടിച്ചു ലഹരി പിടിക്കും; അവരുടെ നിലം കൊഴുപ്പുകൊണ്ടു നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കും.

7. There shall the Unicorns fall with the Bulls, (that is with the giants) and their land shall be washed with blood, and their ground corrupt with fatness.

8. അതു യഹോവ പ്രതികാരം നടത്തുന്ന ദിവസവും സീയോന്റെ വ്യവഹാരത്തില് പ്രതിഫലം കൊടുക്കുന്ന സംവത്സരവും ആകുന്നു.

8. Unto thee also (O Sion) shall come the day of the vengeance of GOD, and the year when (as) thine own judgements shall be recompensed.

9. അവിടത്തെ തോടുകള് കീലായും മണ്ണു ഗന്ധകമായും നിലം കത്തുന്ന കീലായും ഭവിക്കും.

9. Thy floods shall be turned to pitch, and thine earth to brimstone, and therewith shall the land be kindled,

10. രാവും പകലും അതു കെടുകയില്ല; അതിന്റെ പുക സദാകാലം പൊങ്ങിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കും; തലമുറതലമുറയായി അതു ശൂന്യമായ്ക്കിടക്കും; ഒരുത്തനും ഒരുനാളും അതില്കൂടി കടന്നു പോകയുമില്ല.

10. so that it shall not be quenched day nor night: But smoke evermore, and so forth to lie waste. And no man shall go thorow thy land forever:

11. വേഴാമ്പലും മുള്ളന് പന്നിയും അതിനെ കൈവശമാക്കും; മൂങ്ങയും മലങ്കാക്കയും അതില് പാര്ക്കും; അവന് അതിന്മേല് പാഴിന്റെ നൂലും ശൂന്യത്തിന്റെ തൂക്കുകട്ടിയും പിടിക്കും.

11. But Pelicans, Storks, great Owls, and Ravens shall have it in possession, and dwell therein. For God shall spread out the line of desolation upon it, and weight it with the stones of emptiness.

12. അതിലെ കുലീനന്മാര് ആരും രാജത്വം ഘോഷിക്കയില്ല; അതിലെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാര് എല്ലാവരും നാസ്തിയായ്പോകും.

12. When kings are called upon, there shall be none, and all princes shall be away.

13. അതിന്റെ അരമനകളില് മുള്ളും അതിന്റെ കോട്ടകളില് തൂവയും ഞെരിഞ്ഞിലും മുളെക്കും; അതു കുറുക്കന്മാര്ക്കും പാര്പ്പിടവും ഒട്ടകപ്പക്ഷികള്ക്കു താവളവും ആകും.

13. Thorns shall grow in their palaces, nettles and thistles in their strongholds, that the dragons may have their pleasure therein, and that they may be a court for Ostriches.

14. മരുമൃഗങ്ങളും ചെന്നായ്ക്കളും തമ്മില് എതിര്പ്പെടും; വനഭൂതം വനഭൂതത്തെ വിളിക്കും; അവിടെ വേതാളം കിടക്കുകയും വിശ്രാമം പ്രാപിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

14. There shall strange visures and monstrous beasts meet one another, and the wild keep company together. There shall the lamya lie, and have her lodging.

15. അവിടെ അസ്ത്രനാഗം കൂടുണ്ടാക്കി മുട്ടയിട്ടു പൊരുന്നി കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെ തന്റെ നിഴലിന് കീഴെ ചേര്ത്തുകൊള്ളും; അവിടെ പരുന്തു അതതിന്റെ ഇണയോടു കൂടും.

15. There shall the hedgehog build, dig, be there at home, and bring forth his young ones. There shall the kites come together, each one to his like.

16. യഹോവയുടെ പുസ്തകത്തില് അന്വേഷിച്ചു വായിച്ചു നോക്കുവിന് ; അവയില് ഒന്നും കാണാതിരിക്കയില്ല; ഒന്നിന്നും ഇണ ഇല്ലാതിരിക്കയുമില്ല; അവന്റെ വായല്ലോ കല്പിച്ചതു; അവന്റെ ആത്മാവത്രേ അവയെ കൂട്ടിവരുത്തിയതു.

16. Seek thorow the scripture of the LORD and read it. There shall none of these things be left out, there shall not one (nor such like) fail. For what his mouth commandeth, that same doth his spirit gather together (or fulfilleth).

17. അവന് അവെക്കായി ചീട്ടിട്ടു, അവന്റെ കൈ അതിനെ അവേക്കു ചരടുകൊണ്ടു വിഭാഗിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു; അവ സദാകാലത്തേക്കും അതിനെ കൈവശമാക്കി തലമുറതലമുറയായി അതില് പാര്ക്കും.

17. Upon whomsoever the lot falleth, or to whom he dealeth it with the line: those shall possess the inheritance from generation to generation, and dwell therein.
