1. I will sing to my beloved the canticle of my cousin concerning his vineyard. My beloved had a vineyard on a hill in a fruitful place.

2. And he fenced it in, and picked the stones out of it, and planted it with the choicest vines, and built a tower in the midst thereof, and set up a winepress therein: and he looked that it should bring forth grapes, and it broutht forth wild grapes.

3. ആകയാല് യെരൂശലേംനിവാസികളും യെഹൂദാപുരുഷന്മാരും ആയുള്ളോരേ, എനിക്കും എന്റെ മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടത്തിന്നും മദ്ധ്യേ വിധിപ്പിന് .

3. And now, O ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and ye men of Juda, judge between me and my vineyard.

4. ഞാന് എന്റെ മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടത്തില് ചെയ്തിട്ടുള്ളതല്ലാതെ ഇനി അതില് എന്തു ചെയ്വാനുള്ളു? മുന്തിരിങ്ങ കായക്കുമെന്നു ഞാന് കാത്തിരുന്നാറെ അതു കാട്ടുമുന്തിരിങ്ങ കായിച്ചതു എന്തു? ആകയാല് വരുവിന് ;

4. What is there that I ought to do more to my vineyard, that I have not done to it?

5. ഞാന് എന്റെ മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടത്തോടു എന്തു ചെയ്യും എന്നു നിങ്ങളോടു അറിയിക്കാം; ഞാന് അതിന്റെ വേലി പൊളിച്ചുകളയും; അതു തിന്നു പോകും; ഞാന് അതിന്റെ മതില് ഇടിച്ചുകളയും; അതു ചവിട്ടി മെതിച്ചുപോകും.

5. And now I will shew you wnat I will do to my vineyard. I will take away the hedge thereof, and it shall be wasted: I will break down the wall thereof, and it shall be trodden down.

6. ഞാന് അതിനെ ശൂന്യമാക്കും; അതു വള്ളിത്തല മുറിക്കാതെയും കിളെക്കാതെയും ഇരിക്കും; പറക്കാരയും മുള്ളും അതില് മുളെക്കും; അതില് മഴ പെയ്യിക്കരുതെന്നു ഞാന് മേഘങ്ങളോടു കല്പിക്കും.

6. And I will make it desolate: it shall not be pruned, and it shall not be digged: but briers and thorns shall come up: and I will command the clouds to rain no rain upon it.

7. സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടം യിസ്രായേല് ഗൃഹവും അവന്റെ മനോഹരമായ നടുതല യെഹൂദാപുരുഷന്മാരും ആകുന്നു; അവന് ന്യായത്തിന്നായി കാത്തിരുന്നു; എന്നാല് ഇതാ, അന്യായം! നീതിക്കായി നോക്കിയിരുന്നു; എന്നാല് ഇതാ ഭീതി!

7. For the vineyard of the Lord of hosts is the house of Israel: and the man of Juda, his pleasant plant: and I looked that he should do judgment, and behold iniquity: and do justice, and behold a cry.

8. തങ്ങള് മാത്രം ദേശമദ്ധ്യേ പാര്ക്കത്തക്കവണ്ണം മറ്റാര്ക്കും സ്ഥലം ഇല്ലാതാകുവോളവും വീടോടു വീടു ചേര്ക്കുംകയും വയലോടു വയല് കൂട്ടുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവര്ക്കും അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം!

8. Woe to you that join house to house and lay field to field, even to the end of the place: shall you alone dwell in the midst of the earth?

9. ഞാന് കേള്ക്കെ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുവലിയതും നല്ലതുമായിരിക്കുന്ന പല വീടുകളും ആള് പാര്പ്പില്ലാതെ ശൂന്യമാകും നിശ്ചയം.

9. These things are in my ears, saith the Lord of hosts: unless many great and fair houses shall become desolate, without an inhabitant.

10. പത്തു കാണി മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടത്തില്നിന്നു ഒരു ബത്തും ഒരു ഹോമര് വിത്തില്നിന്നു ഒരു ഏഫയും മാത്രം കിട്ടും.

10. For ten acres of vineyard shall yield one little measure, and thirty bushels of seed shall yield three bushels.

11. അതികാലത്തു എഴുന്നേറ്റു മദ്യം തേടി ഔടുകയും വീഞ്ഞു കുടിച്ചു മത്തരായി സന്ധ്യാസമയത്തു വൈകി ഇരിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവര്ക്കും അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം!

11. Woe to you that rise up early in the morning to follow drunkenness, and to drink till the evening, to be inflamed with wine.

12. അവരുടെ വിരുന്നുകളില് കിന്നരവും വീണയും തപ്പും കുഴലും വീഞ്ഞും ഉണ്ടു; എന്നാല് യഹോവയുടെ പ്രവൃത്തിയെ അവര് നോക്കുന്നില്ല, അവന്റെ കൈവേലയെ വിചാരിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.

12. The harp, and the lyre, and the timbrel, and the pipe, and wine are in your feasts: and the work of the Lord you regard not, nor do you consider the works of his hands.

13. അങ്ങനെ എന്റെ ജനം അറിവില്ലായ്കയാല് പ്രവാസത്തിലേക്കു പോകുന്നു; അവരുടെ മാന്യന്മാര് പട്ടിണികിടക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ ജനസമൂഹം ദാഹത്താല് വരണ്ടുപോകുന്നു.

13. Therefore is my people led away captive, because they had not knowledge, and their nobles have perished with famine, and their multitude were dried up with thirst.

14. അതുകൊണ്ടു പാതാളം തൊണ്ട തുറന്നു, വിസ്താരമായി വായ് പിളര്ന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ മഹിമയും ആരവവും ഘോഷവും അവയില് ഉല്ലസിക്കുന്നവരും അതിലേക്കു ഇറങ്ങിപ്പോകുന്നു.

14. Therefore hath hell enlarged her soul, and opened her mouth without any bounds, and their strong ones, and their people, and their high and glorious ones shall go down into it.

15. അങ്ങനെ മനുഷ്യന് കുനിയുകയും പുരുഷന് വണങ്ങുകയും നിഗളികളുടെ കണ്ണു താഴുകയും ചെയ്യും.

15. And man shall be brought down, and man shall be humbled, and the eyes of the lofty shall be brought low.

16. എന്നാല് സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ന്യായവിധിയില് ഉന്നതനായിരിക്കയും പരിശുദ്ധദൈവം നീതിയില് തന്നെത്താന് പരിശുദ്ധനായി കാണിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

16. And the Lord of hosts shall be exalted in judgment, and the holy God shall be sanctified in justice.

17. അപ്പോള് കുഞ്ഞാടുകള് മേച്ചല്പുറത്തെന്നപോലെ മേയും; പുഷ്ടിയുള്ളവരുടെ ശൂന്യപ്രദേശങ്ങളെ സഞ്ചാരികള് അനുഭവിക്കും.

17. And the lambs shall feed according to their order, and strangers shall eat the deserts turned into fruitfulness.

18. വ്യാജപാശംകൊണ്ടു അകൃത്യത്തെയും വണ്ടിക്കയറുകൊണ്ടു എന്നപോലെ പാപത്തെയും വലിക്കയും

18. Woe to you that draw iniquity with cords of vanity, and sin as the rope of a cart.

19. അവന് ബദ്ധപ്പെട്ടു തന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിയെ വേഗത്തില് നിവര്ത്തിക്കട്ടെ; കാണാമല്ലോ; യിസ്രായേലിന് പരിശുദ്ധന്റെ ആലോചന അടുത്തുവരട്ടെ; നമുക്കു അറിയാമല്ലോ എന്നു പറകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവര്ക്കും അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം!

19. That say: Let him make haste, and let his work come quickly, that we may see it: and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel come, that we may know it.

20. തിന്മെക്കു നന്മ എന്നും നന്മെക്കു തിന്മ എന്നും പേര് പറകയും ഇരുട്ടിനെ വെളിച്ചവും വെളിച്ചത്തെ ഇരുട്ടും ആക്കുകയും കൈപ്പിനെ മധുരവും മധുരത്തെ കൈപ്പും ആക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവര്ക്കും അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം!

20. Woe to you that call evil good, and good evil: that put darkness for light, and light for darkness: that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter.

21. തങ്ങള്ക്കുതന്നേ ജ്ഞാനികളായും തങ്ങള്ക്കു തന്നേ വിവേകികളായും തോന്നുന്നവര്ക്കും അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം!

21. Woe to you that rue wise in your own eyes, and prudent in your own conceits.

22. വീഞ്ഞു കുടിപ്പാന് വീരന്മാരും മദ്യം കലര്ത്തുവാന് ശൂരന്മാരും ആയുള്ളവര്ക്കും

22. Woe to you that are mighty to drink wine, and stout men at drunkenness.

23. സമ്മാനംനിമിത്തം ദുഷ്ടനെ നീതീകരിക്കയും നീതിമാന്റെ നീതിയെ ഇല്ലാതാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവര്ക്കും അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം!

23. That justify the wicked for gifts, and take away the justice of the just from him.

24. അതുകൊണ്ടു തീനാവു താളടിയെ തിന്നുകളകയും വൈക്കോല് ജ്വാലയാല് ദഹിച്ചുപോകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതുപോലെ അവരുടെ വേരു കെട്ടുപോകും; അവരുടെ പുഷ്പം പൊടിപോലെ പറന്നു പോകും; അവര് സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു, യിസ്രായേലിന് പരിശുദ്ധന്റെ വചനത്തെ നിന്ദിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

24. Therefore as the tongue of the fire devoureth the stubble, and the heat of the dame consumeth it: so shall their root be as ashes, and their bud shall go up as dust: for they have cast away the law of the Lord of hosts, and have blasphemed the word of the Holy One of Israel.

25. അതുനിമിത്തം യഹോവയുടെ കോപം തന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ നേരെ ജ്വലിക്കും; അവന് അവരുടെ നേരെ കൈ നീട്ടി അവരെ ദണ്ഡിപ്പിക്കും; അപ്പോള് മലകള് വിറെക്കയും അവരുടെ ശവങ്ങള് വീഥികളുടെ നടുവില് ചവറുപോലെ ആയിത്തീരുകയും ചെയ്യും; ഇതെല്ലാംകൊണ്ടും അവന്റെ കോപം അടങ്ങാതെ അവന്റെ കൈ ഇനിയും നീട്ടിയിരിക്കും.

25. Therefore is the wrath of the Lord kindled against his people, and he hath stretched out his hand upon them, and struck them: and the mountains were troubled, and their carcasses became as dung in the midst of the streets. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

26. അവന് ദൂരത്തുള്ള ജാതികള്ക്കു ഒരു കൊടി, ഉയര്ത്തി, ഭൂമിയുടെ അറ്റത്തുനിന്നു അവരെ ചൂളകുത്തിവിളിക്കും; അവര് ബദ്ധപ്പെട്ടു വേഗത്തില് വരും.

26. And he will lift up a sign to the nations afar off, and will whistle to them from the ends of the earth: and behold they shall come with speed swiftly.

27. അവരില് ഒരുത്തനും ക്ഷീണിക്കയോ ഇടറുകയോ ചെയ്കയില്ല; ഒരുത്തനും ഉറക്കം തൂങ്ങുകയില്ല, ഉറങ്ങുകയുമില്ല; അവരുടെ അരക്കച്ച അഴികയില്ല, ചെരിപ്പുവാറു പൊട്ടുകയുമില്ല.

27. There is none that shall faint, nor labour among them: they shall not slumber nor sleep, neither shall the girdle of their loins be loosed, nor the latchet of their shoes be broken.

28. അവരുടെ അമ്പു കൂര്ത്തും വില്ലു എല്ലാം കുലെച്ചും ഇരിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ കുതിരകളുടെ കുളമ്പു തീക്കല്ലുപോലെയും അവരുടെ രഥചക്രം ചുഴലിക്കാറ്റുപോലെയും തോന്നും.

28. Their arrows are sharp, and all their bows are bent. The hoofs of their horses shall be like the hint, and their wheels like the violence of a tempest.

29. അവരുടെ ഗര്ജ്ജനം സിംഹത്തിന്റേതുപോലെ ഇരിക്കും; അവര് ബാലസിംഹങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ ഗര്ജ്ജിക്കും; അവര് അലറി, ഇരപിടിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുപോകും; ആരും വിടുവിക്കയും ഇല്ല.

29. Their roaring like that hall come forth from Sion, and tyoung lions: yea they shall roar, and take hold of the prey, and they shall keep fast hold of it, and there shall be none to deliver it.

30. അന്നാളില് അവര് കടലിന്റെ അലര്ച്ചപോലെ അവരുടെ നേരെ അലറും; ദേശത്തു നോക്കിയാല് ഇതാ, അന്ധകാരവും കഷ്ടതയും തന്നേ; അതിന്റെ മേഘങ്ങളില് വെളിച്ചം ഇരുണ്ടുപോകും.

30. And they shall make a noise against them that day, like the roaring of the sea; we shall look towards the land, and behold darkness of tribulation, and the light is darkened with the mist thereof.
