1. യഹോവ എന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതുനീ ഒരു വലിയ പലക എടുത്തു, സാമാന്യ അക്ഷരത്തില്മഹേര്-ശാലാല് ഹാശ്-ബസ് എന്നു എഴുതുക.

1. And Yahweh said to me, Take for yourself a great tablet, and write on it with the pen of common man, For Maher-shalal-hash-baz;

2. ഞാന് ഊരിയാപുരോഹിതനെയും യെബെരെഖ്യാവിന് മകനായ സഖര്യ്യാവെയും എനിക്കു വിശ്വസ്തസാക്ഷികളാക്കിവേക്കും.

2. and I will take to me faithful witnesses to record, Uriah the priest, and Zechariah the son of Jeberechiah.

3. And I went to the prophetess; and she became pregnant, and gave birth to a son. Then Yahweh said to me, Call his name Maher-shalal-hash-baz.

4. For before the child will have knowledge to cry, My father, and, My mother, the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria will be carried away before the king of Assyria.

5. യഹോവ പിന്നെയും എന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതെന്തെന്നാല്

5. And Yahweh spoke to me yet again, saying,

6. ഈ ജനം സാവധാനത്തോടെ ഒഴുകുന്ന ശീലോഹാവെള്ളത്തെ നിരസിച്ചു രെസീനിലും രെമല്യാവിന് മകനിലും സന്തോഷിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു,

6. Since this people have refused the waters of Shiloah that go softly, and rejoice in Rezin and Remaliah's son;

7. അതുകാരണത്താല് തന്നേ, യഹോവ നദിയിലെ ബലമേറിയ പെരുവെള്ളത്തെ, അശ്ശൂര്രാജാവിനെയും അവന്റെ സകലമഹത്വത്തെയും തന്നേ, അവരുടെമേല് വരുത്തും; അതു അതിന്റെ എല്ലാ തോടുകളിലും പൊങ്ങി അതിന്റെ എല്ലാ കരകളെയും കവിഞ്ഞൊഴുകും.

7. now therefore, look, the Lord brings up on them the waters of the River, strong and many, [even] the king of Assyria and all his glory: and it will come up over all its channels, and go over all its banks;

8. അതു യെഹൂദയിലേക്കു കടന്നു കവിഞ്ഞൊഴുകി കഴുത്തോളം എത്തും; അതിന്റെ വിടര്ന്ന ചിറകു, ഇമ്മാനൂവേലേ, നിന്റെ ദേശത്തിന്റെ വീതിയെ മൂടും.

8. and it will sweep onward into Judah; it will overflow and pass through; it will reach even to the neck; and the stretching out of its wings will fill the width of your land, O Immanuel.

9. Make an uproar, O you+ peoples, and be broken in pieces; and give ear, all you+ of far countries: gird yourselves, and be broken in pieces; gird yourselves, and be broken in pieces.

10. കൂടി ആലോചിച്ചുകൊള്വിന് ; അതു നിഷ്ഫലമായിത്തീരും; കാര്യം പറഞ്ഞുറെപ്പിന് ; സാദ്ധ്യം ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല; ദൈവം ഞങ്ങളോടു കൂടെ ഉണ്ടു.

10. Take counsel together, and it will be brought to nothing; speak the word, and it will not stand: for God is with us.

11. യഹോവ ബലമുള്ള കൈകൊണ്ടു എന്നെ പിടിച്ചു എന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു ഞാന് ഈ ജനത്തിന്റെ വഴിയില് നടക്കാതെയിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു എനിക്കു ഉപദേശിച്ചുതന്നതെന്തെന്നാല്

11. For Yahweh spoke thus to me with a strong hand, and he turned me away [so as] not to walk in the way of this people, saying,

12. ഈ ജനം കൂട്ടുകെട്ടു എന്നു പറയുന്നതിന്നൊക്കെയും കൂട്ടുകെട്ടു എന്നു നിങ്ങള് പറയരുതു; അവര് ഭയപ്പെടുന്നതിനെ നിങ്ങള് ഭയപ്പെടരുതു, ഭ്രമിച്ചുപോകയുമരുതു.

12. Don't say+, A conspiracy, concerning all of which this people will say, A conspiracy; neither be+ afraid of their fear, nor be in dread [of it].

15. And many will stumble on it, and fall, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken.

16. സാക്ഷ്യം പൊതിഞ്ഞുകെട്ടുക; എന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരുടെ ഇടയില് ഉപദേശം മുദ്രയിട്ടു വെക്കുക.

16. Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples.

17. ഞാനോ യാക്കോബ്ഗൃഹത്തിന്നു തന്റെ മുഖം മറെച്ചുകളഞ്ഞ യഹോവെക്കായി കാത്തിരിക്കയും പ്രത്യാശിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

17. And I will wait for Yahweh, that hides his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.

18. Look, I and the children whom Yahweh has given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from Yahweh of hosts, who stays in mount Zion.

19. And when they will say to you+, Seek to the spiritists and to the wizards, that chirp and that mutter: should not a people seek to their God? On behalf of the living [should they seek] to the dead?

20. To the law and to the testimony! If they don't speak according to this word, surely there is no morning for them.

21. അവര് ഏറ്റവും വലഞ്ഞും വിശന്നും ദേശത്തുകൂടി കടന്നുപോകും; അവര്ക്കും വിശക്കുമ്പോള് അവര് മുഷിഞ്ഞു തങ്ങളുടെ രാജാവിനെയും തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തെയും ശപിച്ചു മുഖം മേലോട്ടു തിരിക്കും.

21. And they will pass through it, very distressed and hungry; and it will come to pass that, when they will be hungry, they will fret themselves, and curse by their king and by their God, and turn their faces upward:

22. അവര് ഭൂമിയില് നോക്കുമ്പോള് കഷ്ടതയും അന്ധകാരവും സങ്കടമുള്ള തിമിരവും കാണും; കൂരിരുട്ടിലേക്കു അവരെ തള്ളിക്കളയും.

22. and they will look to the earth, and see distress and darkness, the gloom of anguish; and into thick darkness [they will be] driven away.
