1. The words of Yirmeyahu the son of Hilkiyah, of the Kohanim who were in `Anatot in the land of Binyamin:

2. ബെന്യാമീന് ദേശത്തു അനാഥോത്തിലെ പുരോഹിതന്മാരില് ഹില്ക്കീയാവിന്റെ മകനായ യിരെമ്യാവിന്റെ വചനങ്ങള്.

2. to whom the word of the LORD came in the days of Yoshiyahu the son of Amon, king of Yehudah, in the thirteenth year of his reign.

3. അവന്നു യെഹൂദാരാജാവായി ആമോന്റെ മകനായ യോശീയാവിന്റെ കാലത്തു, അവന്റെ വാഴ്ചയുടെ പതിമൂന്നാം ആണ്ടില്, യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടുണ്ടായി.

3. It came also in the days of Yehoiakim the son of Yoshiyahu, king of Yehudah, to the end of the eleventh year of Tzidkiyahu, the son of Yoshiyahu, king of Yehudah, to the carrying away of Yerushalayim captive in the fifth month.

4. യെഹൂദാരാജാവായി യോശീയാവിന്റെ മകനായ യെഹോയാക്കീമിന്റെ കാലത്തും യെഹൂദാരാജാവായി യോശീയാവിന്റെ മകനായ സിദെക്കീയാവിന്റെ പതിനൊന്നാം ആണ്ടിന്റെ അവസാനംവരെയും അഞ്ചാം മാസത്തില് യെരൂശലേമ്യരെ പ്രവാസത്തിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോയതുവരെയും തന്നേ അങ്ങനെ ഉണ്ടായി.

4. Now the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

5. Before I formed you in the belly I knew you, and before you came forth out of the womb I sanctified you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations.

6. നിന്നെ ഉദരത്തില് ഉരുവാക്കിയതിന്നു മുമ്പെ ഞാന് നിന്നെ അറിഞ്ഞു; നീ ഗര്ഭപാത്രത്തില്നിന്നു പുറത്തു വന്നതിന്നു മുമ്പെ ഞാന് നിന്നെ വിശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചു, ജാതികള്ക്കു പ്രവാചകനായി നിയമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

6. Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I don't know how to speak; for I am a child.

7. എന്നാല് ഞാന് അയ്യോ, യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവേ, എനിക്കു സംസാരിപ്പാന് അറിഞ്ഞുകൂടാ; ഞാന് ബാലനല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

7. But the LORD said to me, Don't say, I am a child; for to whoever I shall send you, you shall go, and whatever I shall command you, you shall speak.

8. അതിന്നു യഹോവ എന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുഞാന് ബാലന് എന്നു നീ പറയരുതു; ഞാന് നിന്നെ അയക്കുന്ന ഏവരുടെയും അടുക്കല് നീ പോകയും ഞാന് നിന്നോടു കല്പിക്കുന്നതൊക്കെയും സംസാരിക്കയും വേണം.

8. Don't be afraid because of them; for I am with you to deliver you, says the LORD.

9. നീ അവരെ ഭയപ്പെടരുതു; നിന്നെ വിടുവിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടെന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

9. Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth; and the LORD said to me, Behold, I have put my words in your mouth:

10. പിന്നെ യഹോവ കൈ നീട്ടി എന്റെ വായെ തൊട്ടുഞാന് എന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ നിന്റെ വായില് തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു;

10. behold, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, to pluck up and to break down and to destroy and to overthrow, to build and to plant.

11. നോക്കുക; നിര്മ്മൂലമാക്കുവാനും പൊളിപ്പാനും നശിപ്പിപ്പാനും ഇടിച്ചുകളവാനും പണിവാനും നടുവാനുംവേണ്ടി ഞാന് നിന്നെ ഇന്നു ജാതികളുടെമേലും രാജ്യങ്ങളുടെമേലും ആക്കിവെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു യഹോവ എന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചു.

11. Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying, Yirmeyahu, what see you? I said, I see a rod of an almond tree.

12. യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു എനിക്കുണ്ടായിയിരെമ്യാവേ, നീ എന്തു കാണുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. ബദാം (ജാഗ്രത്) വൃക്ഷത്തിന്റെ ഒരു കൊമ്പു കാണുന്നു എന്നു ഞാന് പറഞ്ഞു.

12. Then said the LORD to me, You have well seen: for I watch over my word to perform it.

13. യഹോവ എന്നോടുനീ കണ്ടതു ശരി തന്നേ; എന്റെ വചനം നിവര്ത്തിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് ജാഗരിച്ചുകൊള്ളും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

13. The word of the LORD came to me the second time, saying, What see you? I said, I see a boiling caldron; and the face of it is from the north.

14. യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു രണ്ടാം പ്രാവശ്യം എനിക്കുണ്ടായിനീ എന്തു കാണുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. തിളെക്കുന്ന ഒരു കാലം കാണുന്നു. അതു വടക്കുനിന്നു പ്രത്യക്ഷമായി വരുന്നു എന്നു ഞാന് പറഞ്ഞു.

14. Then the LORD said to me, Out of the north evil shall break forth on all the inhabitants of the land.

15. യഹോവ എന്നോടുവടക്കുനിന്നു ദേശത്തിലെ സര്വ്വനിവാസികള്ക്കും അനര്ത്ഥം വരും.

15. For, behold, I will call all the families of the kingdoms of the north, says the LORD; and they shall come, and they shall set everyone his throne at the entrance of the gates of Yerushalayim, and against all the walls of it round about, and against all the cities of Yehudah.

16. ഞാന് വടക്കെ രാജ്യങ്ങളിലെ വംശങ്ങളെ ഒക്കെയും വിളിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു; അവര് വന്നു, ഔരോരുത്തന് താന്താന്റെ സിംഹാസനം യെരൂശലേമിന്റെ പടിവാതിലുകളുടെ പ്രവേശനത്തിങ്കലും ചുറ്റും അതിന്റെ എല്ലാ മതിലുകള്ക്കും നേരെയും യെഹൂദയിലെ എല്ലാപട്ടണങ്ങള്ക്കും നേരെയും വേക്കും.

16. I will utter my judgments against them touching all their wickedness, in that they have forsaken me, and have burned incense to other gods, and worshiped the works of their own hands.

17. അവര് എന്നെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കയും അന്യദേവന്മാര്ക്കും ധൂപം കാട്ടി തങ്ങളുടെ കൈപ്പണികളെ നമസ്കരിക്കയും ചെയ്ത സകലദോഷത്തെയും കുറിച്ചു ഞാന് അവരോടു ന്യായപദം കഴിക്കും.

17. You therefore gird up your loins, and arise, and speak to them all that I command you: don't be dismayed at them, lest I dismay you before them.

18. ആകയാല് നീ അരകെട്ടി എഴുന്നേറ്റു ഞാന് നിന്നോടു കല്പിക്കുന്നതൊക്കെയും അവരോടു പ്രസ്താവിക്ക; ഞാന് നിന്നെ അവരുടെ മുമ്പില് ഭ്രമിപ്പിക്കാതെ ഇരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ അവരെ കണ്ടു ഭ്രമിച്ചുപോകരുതു.

18. For, behold, I have made you this day a fortified city, and an iron pillar, and brazen walls, against the whole land, against the kings of Yehudah, against the princes of it, against the Kohanim of it, and against the people of the land.

19. ഞാന് ഇന്നു നിന്നെ സര്വ്വദേശത്തിന്നും യെഹൂദാരാജാക്കന്മാര്ക്കും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാര്ക്കും പുരോഹിതന്മാര്ക്കും ദേശത്തിലെ ജനത്തിന്നും നേരെ ഉറപ്പുള്ളോരു പട്ടണവും ഇരിമ്പുതൂണും താമ്രമതിലുകളും ആക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

19. They shall fight against you; but they shall not prevail against you: for I am with you, says the LORD, to deliver you.
