1. എന്റെ മേച്ചല്പുറത്തെ ആടുകളെ നശിപ്പിക്കയും ചിതറിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്ന ഇടയന്മാര്ക്കും അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

1. THUS SAYS the Lord: Go down to the house of the king of Judah and speak there this word:

2. അതുകൊണ്ടു, തന്റെ ജനത്തെ മേയിക്കുന്ന ഇടയന്മാരെക്കുറിച്ചു യസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുനിങ്ങള് എന്റെ ആട്ടിന് കൂട്ടത്തെ സൂക്ഷിക്കാതെ അവയെ ചിതറിച്ചുഔടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; ഇതാ ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികളുടെ ദോഷത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു നിങ്ങളോടു ചോദിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

2. Hear the word of the Lord, O king of Judah, you who sit upon the throne of David--you and your servants and your people who enter by these gates.

3. എന്റെ ആട്ടിന് കൂട്ടത്തില് ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവയെ ഞാന് അവയെ നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന സകലദേശങ്ങളില്നിന്നും ശേഖരിച്ചു അവയുടെ പുല്പുറങ്ങളിലേക്കു വീണ്ടും കൊണ്ടുവരും; അവ വര്ദ്ധിച്ചു പെരുകും.

3. Thus says the Lord: Execute justice and righteousness, and deliver out of the hand of the oppressor him who has been robbed. And do no wrong; do no violence to the stranger or temporary resident, the fatherless, or the widow, nor shed innocent blood in this place.

4. അവയെ മേയിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് ഇടയന്മാരെ നിയമിക്കും; അവ ഇനി പേടിക്കയില്ല, ഭ്രമിക്കയില്ല, കാണാതെപോകയുമില്ല എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

4. For if you will indeed obey this word, then will there enter in through the gates of this [the king's] house kings sitting [for David] upon David's throne, riding in chariots and on horses--they and their servants and their people.

5. ഞാന് ദാവീദിന്നു നീതിയുള്ളോരു മുളയായവനെ ഉത്ഭവിപ്പിക്കുന്ന കാലം വരും; അവന് രാജാവായി വാണു ബുദ്ധിയോടെ പ്രവര്ത്തിച്ചു ദേശത്തു നീതിയും ന്യായവും നടത്തും.

5. But if you will not hear these words, I swear by Myself, says the Lord, that this house will become a desolation.

6. അവന്റെ കാലത്തു യെഹൂദാ രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടും; യിസ്രായേല് നിര്ഭയമായി വസിക്കും; അവന്നു യഹോവ നമ്മുടെ നീതി എന്നു പേര് പറയും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

6. For thus says the Lord concerning the house of the king of Judah: [If you will not listen to Me, though] you are [as valuable] to Me as [the fat pastures of] Gilead [east of the Jordan] or as the [plentiful] summit of Lebanon [west of the Jordan], yet surely I will make you a wilderness and uninhabited cities.

7. ആകയാല് യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളെ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന യഹോവയാണ എന്നു ഇനി പറയാതെ,

7. And I will prepare, solemnly set apart, and appoint [to execute My judgments against you] destroyers, each with his weapons, and they will cut down your [palaces built of] choicest cedars and cast them into the fire.

8. യിസ്രായേല് ഗൃഹത്തിന്റെ സന്തതിയെ വടക്കുദേശത്തുനിന്നും ഞാന് അവരെ നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞിരുന്ന സകലദേശങ്ങളില്നിന്നും പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന യഹോവയാണ എന്നു പറയുന്ന കാലം വരും; അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ സ്വന്തദേശത്തു വസിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

8. And many nations will pass by this city, and every man will say to his neighbor, Why has the Lord done this to this great city?

9. പ്രവാചകന്മാരെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള അരുളപ്പാടുഎന്റെ ഹൃദയം എന്റെ ഉള്ളില് നുറുങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ അസ്ഥികള് ഒക്കെയും ഇളകുന്നു; യഹോവ നിമിത്തവും അവന്റെ വിശുദ്ധവചനങ്ങള് നിമിത്തവും ഞാന് , മത്തനായിരിക്കുന്നവനെപ്പോലെയും വീഞ്ഞു കുടിച്ചു ലഹരിപിടിച്ചവനെപ്പോലെയും ആയിരിക്കുന്നു.

9. Then they will answer, Because [the people] forsook the covenant or solemn pledge with the Lord their God and worshiped other gods and served them.

10. ദേശം വ്യഭിചാരികളെക്കൊണ്ടു നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; ശാപം നിമിത്തം ദേശം ദുഃഖിക്കുന്നു; മരുഭൂമിയിലെ മേച്ചല്പുറങ്ങള് ഉണങ്ങിപ്പോയിരിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ ഔട്ടം ദോഷമുള്ളതും അവരുടെ ബലം നേരുകെട്ടതും ആകുന്നു.

10. Weep not for him who is dead nor bemoan him; but weep bitterly for him who goes away [into captivity], for he shall return no more nor see his native country [again].

11. പ്രവാചകനും പുരോഹിതനും ഒരുപോലെ വഷളന്മാരായിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ ആലയത്തിലും ഞാന് അവരുടെ ദുഷ്ടത കാണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

11. For thus says the Lord concerning Shallum son of Josiah king of Judah, who reigned instead of Josiah his father and who went forth out of this place: [Shallum] shall not return here any more;

12. അതുകൊണ്ടു അവരുടെ വഴി അവര്ക്കും ഇരുട്ടത്തു വഴുവഴുപ്പു ആയിരിക്കും; അവര് അതില് കാല്തെറ്റി വീഴും; ഞാന് അവര്ക്കും അനര്ത്ഥം, അവരുടെ സന്ദര്ശനകാലം തന്നേ, വരുത്തും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

12. But he shall die in the place where they have led him captive, and he shall see this land no more.

13. ശമര്യ്യയിലെ പ്രവാചകന്മാരില് ഞാന് ഭോഷത്വം കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; അവര് ബാലിന്റെ നാമത്തില് പ്രവചിച്ചു എന്റെ ജനമായ യിസ്രായേലിനെ തെറ്റിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

13. Woe to him who builds his house by unrighteousness and his [upper] chambers by injustice, who uses his neighbor's service without wages and does not give him his pay [for his work],

14. യെരൂശലേമിലെ പ്രവാചകന്മാരിലോ ഞാന് അതിഭയങ്കരമായുള്ളതു കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; അവര് വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്തു വ്യാജത്തില് നടക്കുന്നു; ആരും തന്റെ ദുഷ്ടത വിട്ടുതിരിയാതവണ്ണം അവര് ദുഷ്പ്രവൃത്തിക്കാരെ ധൈര്യപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു; അവരെല്ലാവരും എനിക്കു സൊദോംപോലെയും, അതിലെ നിവാസികള് ഗൊമോറ പോലെയും ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

14. Who says, I will build myself a wide house with large rooms, and he cuts himself out windows, and it is ceiled or paneled with cedar and painted with vermilion.

15. അതുകൊണ്ടു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ പ്രവാചകന്മാരെക്കുറിച്ചു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഞാന് അവരെ കാഞ്ഞിരം തീറ്റി നഞ്ചുവെള്ളം കുടിപ്പിക്കും; യെരൂശലേമിലെ പ്രവാചകന്മാരില്നിന്നല്ലോ വഷളത്വം ദേശത്തെല്ലാടവും പരന്നിരിക്കുന്നതു.

15. Do you think that being a king [merely] means [self-indulgent] vying [with Solomon] and striving to excel in cedar [palaces]? Did not your father [Josiah], as he ate and drank, do justice and righteousness [being upright and in right standing with God]? Then it was well with him.

16. സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുനിങ്ങളോടു പ്രവചിക്കുന്ന പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെ വാക്കു കേള്ക്കരുതു; അവര് നിങ്ങളെ വ്യാജം ഉപദേശിക്കുന്നു; യഹോവയുടെ വായില്നിന്നുള്ളതല്ല സ്വന്തഹൃദയത്തിലെ ദര്ശനമത്രേ അവര് പ്രവചിക്കുന്നതു.

16. He judged and defended the cause of the poor and needy; then it was well. Was not [all] this [what it means] to know and recognize Me? says the Lord.

17. എന്നെ നിരസിക്കുന്നവരോടു അവര്നിങ്ങള്ക്കു സമാധാനം ഉണ്ടാകും എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറയുന്നു; തങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയത്തിലെ ശാഠ്യപ്രകാരം നടക്കുന്നവരോടൊക്കെയുംനിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഒരു ദോഷവും വരികയില്ല എന്നും പറയുന്നു.

17. But your eyes and your heart are only for your covetousness and dishonest gain, for shedding innocent blood, for oppression and doing violence.

18. യഹോവയുടെ വചനം ദര്ശിച്ചുകേള്പ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം അവന്റെ ആലോചനസഭയില് നിന്നവന് ആര്? അവന്റെ വചനം ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചുകേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നവന് ആര്?

18. Therefore thus says the Lord concerning Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah: [Relatives] shall not lament for him, saying, Ah, my brother! or, Ah, sister, [how great our loss! Subjects] shall not lament for him saying, Ah, lord! or Ah, his majesty! or Ah, [how great was] his glory!

19. യഹോവയുടെ ക്രോധം എന്ന കൊടുങ്കാറ്റു, വലിയ ചുഴലിക്കാറ്റുതന്നേ, പുറപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; അതു ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ തലമേല് ചുറ്റിയടിക്കും.

19. [No] he shall be buried with the burial of a donkey--dragged out and cast forth beyond the gates of Jerusalem.

20. തന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിലെ ഉദ്ദേശങ്ങളെ നടത്തിത്തീരുവോളം യഹോവയുടെ കോപം മാറുകയില്ല; ഭാവികാലത്തു നിങ്ങള് അതിനെ പൂര്ണ്ണമായി ഗ്രഹിക്കും.

20. Go up [north] to Lebanon and cry out, and raise your voice in [the hills] of Bashan [across the Jordan], and cry out from Abarim [a range of mountains southeast of Palestine], for all your lovers (the king's chosen allies) are destroyed. [Jer. 27:6-7.]

21. ഞാന് ഈ പ്രവാചകന്മാരെ അയക്കാതിരുന്നിട്ടും അവര് ഔടി; ഞാന് അവരോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്യാതിരുന്നിട്ടും അവര് പ്രവചിച്ചു.

21. I spoke to you in your [times of] prosperity, but you said, I will not listen! This has been your attitude from your youth; you have not obeyed My voice.

22. അവര് എന്റെ ആലോചനസഭയില് നിന്നിരുന്നുവെങ്കില്, എന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ എന്റെ ജനത്തെ കേള്പ്പിച്ചു അവരെ അവരുടെ ആകാത്തവഴിയില്നിന്നും അവരുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികളുടെ ദോഷത്തില്നിന്നും തിരിപ്പിക്കുമായിരുന്നു.

22. The wind [of adversity] shall pasture upon and consume all your shepherds (your princes and statesmen), and your lovers (allies) shall go into captivity. Surely then shall you be ashamed and confounded and dismayed because of all your wickedness.

23. ഞാന് സമീപസ്ഥനായ ദൈവം മാത്രം ആകുന്നുവോ? ദൂരസ്ഥനായ ദൈവവുമല്ലയോ? എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

23. O inhabitant of Lebanon [Jerusalem, whose palaces are made of Lebanon's trees], you who make your nest among the cedars, how you will groan and how pitiable you will be when pangs come upon you, pain like that of a woman in childbirth! [I Kings 7:2.]

24. ഞാന് കാണാതവണ്ണം ആര്ക്കെങ്കിലും മറയത്തു ഒളിപ്പാന് കഴിയുമോ? എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു; ഞാന് ആകാശവും ഭൂമിയും നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നവനല്ലയോ എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

24. As I live, says the Lord, though Coniah [also called Jeconiah and Jehoiachin] son of Jehoiakim king of Judah were the signet [ring] upon My right hand, yet would I tear you off.

25. ഞാന് സ്വപ്നം കണ്ടു, സ്വപ്നം കണ്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു എന്റെ നാമത്തില് ഭോഷകു പ്രവചിക്കുന്ന പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെ വാക്കു ഞാന് കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

25. And I will give you into the hands of those who seek your life and into the hand of those of whom you are afraid, even into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon and into the hands of the Chaldeans.

26. സ്വന്തഹൃദയത്തിലെ വഞ്ചനയുടെ പ്രവാചകന്മാരായി ഭോഷകു പ്രവചിക്കുന്ന പ്രവാചകന്മാര്ക്കും ഈ താല്പര്യം എത്രത്തോളം ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കും?

26. And I will hurl you and the mother who bore you into another country, where you were not born, and there you will die.

27. അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാര് ബാല് നിമിത്തം എന്റെ നാമം മറന്നുകളഞ്ഞതുപോലെ ഇവര് അന്യോന്യം വിവരിച്ചു പറയുന്ന സ്വപ്നങ്ങള്കൊണ്ടു എന്റെ ജനം എന്റെ നാമം മറന്നുകളയേണ്ടതിന്നു ഇടവരുത്തുവാന് വിചാരിക്കുന്നു.

27. But to the land to which they will yearn to return, there they will not return.

28. സ്വപ്നംകണ്ട പ്രവാചകന് സ്വപ്നം വിവരിക്കട്ടെ; എന്റെ വചനം ലഭിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവന് എന്റെ വചനം വിശ്വസ്തതയോടെ പ്രസ്താവിക്കട്ടെ; വൈക്കോലും കോതമ്പും തമ്മില് ഒക്കുമോ എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

28. Is this man [King] Coniah a despised, broken pot? Is he a vessel in which no one takes pleasure? Why are they hurled out, he and his royal offspring, and cast into a land which they do not know, understand, or recognize?

29. എന്റെ വചനം തീ പോലെയും പാറയെ തകര്ക്കുംന്ന ചുറ്റികപോലെയും അല്ലയോ എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

29. O land, land, land, hear the word of the Lord!

30. അതുകൊണ്ടു ഒരുത്തനോടു ഒരുത്തന് എന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ മോഷ്ടിക്കുന്ന പ്രവാചകന്മാര്ക്കും ഞാന് വിരോധമാകുന്നു എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

30. Thus says the Lord: Write this man [Coniah] down as childless, a man who shall not prosper in his days, for no man of his offspring shall succeed in sitting upon the throne of David and ruling any more in Judah.
