1. യിസ്രായേല്ഗൃഹമേ, യഹോവ നിങ്ങളോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്ന വചനം കേള്പ്പിന് !

1. Oh that my head were waters and my eyes a fountain of tears that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!

2. യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുജാതികളുടെ വഴി പഠിക്കരുതു; ആകാശത്തിലെ ലക്ഷണങ്ങള് കണ്ടു ഭ്രമിക്കരുതു; ജാതികള് അല്ലോ അവ കണ്ടു ഭ്രമിക്കുന്നതു.

2. Oh that I had in the wilderness a lodging place of wayfaring men that I might leave my people and go from them! for they [are] all adulterers, a congregation of rebels.

3. ജാതികളുടെ ചട്ടങ്ങള് മിത്ഥ്യാമൂര്ത്തിയെ സംബന്ധിക്കുന്നു; അതു ഒരുവന് കാട്ടില്നിന്നു വെട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുവന്ന മരവും ആശാരി വാച്ചികൊണ്ടു ചെയ്ത പണിയും അത്രേ.

3. And they bend their tongues [like] their bow [for] lies, but they are not valiant for the truth upon the earth for they proceed from evil to evil, and they did not recognize me, said the LORD.

4. അവര് അതിനെ വെള്ളിയും പൊന്നുംകൊണ്ടു അലങ്കരിക്കുന്നു; അതു ഇളകാതെയിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവര് അതിനെ ആണിയും ചുറ്റികയുംകൊണ്ടു ഉറപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

4. Take heed each one of his neighbour, and trust ye not in any brother: for every brother will utterly supplant, and every neighbour will walk with slanders.

5. അവ വെള്ളരിത്തോട്ടത്തിലെ തൂണുപോലെയാകുന്നു; അവ സംസാരിക്കുന്നില്ല; അവേക്കു നടപ്പാന് വഹിയായ്കകൊണ്ടു അവയെ ചുമന്നുകൊണ്ടു പോകേണം; അവയെ ഭയപ്പെടരുതു; ഒരു ദോഷവും ചെയ്വാന് അവേക്കു കഴികയില്ല; ഗുണം ചെയ്വാനും അവേക്കു പ്രാപ്തിയില്ല.

5. And they will deceive each one his neighbour and will not speak the truth: they have taught their tongue to speak lies [and] weary themselves to commit iniquity.

6. യഹോവേ, നിന്നോടു തുല്യനായവന് ആരുമില്ല; നീ വലിയവനും നിന്റെ നാമം ബലത്തില് വലിയതും ആകുന്നു.

6. Thine habitation [is] in the midst of deceit; through deceit they refuse to know me, saith the LORD.

7. ജാതികളുടെ രാജാവേ, ആര് നിന്നെ ഭയപ്പെടാതെയിരിക്കും? അതു നിനക്കു യോഗ്യമല്ലോ; ജാതികളുടെ സകല ജ്ഞാനികളിലും അവരുടെ സകലരാജ്യങ്ങളിലും നിന്നോടു തുല്യനായവന് ആരും ഇല്ല.

7. Therefore thus hath the LORD of the hosts said, Behold, I will melt them and try them; for how shall I do for the daughter of my people?

8. അവര് ഒരുപോലെ മൃഗപ്രായരും ഭോഷന്മാരും ആകുന്നു; മിത്ഥ്യാമൂര്ത്തികളുടെ ഉപദേശമോ മരമുട്ടിയത്രേ.

8. Their tongue [is as] a sharp arrow; it speaks deceit: [one] speaks peaceably to his neighbour with his mouth but in heart he lays in wait.

9. തര്ശീശില്നിന്നുകൊണ്ടു വന്ന വെള്ളിയും ഊഫാസില്നിന്നുള്ള പൊന്നും അടിച്ചുപരത്തുന്നു; അതു കൌശലപ്പണിക്കാരന്റെയും തട്ടാന്റെയും കൈപ്പണിതന്നേ; നീലവും രക്താംബരവും അവയുടെ ഉടുപ്പു; അവയൊക്കെയും കൌശലപ്പണിക്കാരുടെ പണി അത്രേ.

9. Shall I not visit them for these [things]? saith the LORD; shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?

10. യഹോവയോ സത്യദൈവം; അവന് ജീവനുള്ള ദൈവവും ശാശ്വതരാജാവും തന്നേ; അവന്റെ ക്രോധത്താല് ഭൂമി നടുങ്ങുന്നു; ജാതികള്ക്കു അവന്റെ ഉഗ്രകോപം സഹിപ്പാന് കഴികയുമില്ല.

10. Upon the mountains I will lift up weeping and wailing and lamentation upon the habitations of the wilderness because they are burned up, so that no one can pass through [them]; neither can [men] hear the voice of the cattle; both the fowl of the heavens and even the beasts of the earth are fled; they are gone.

11. ആകാശത്തെയും ഭൂമിയെയും നിര്മ്മിക്കാത്ത ദേവന്മാരോ ഭൂമിയില്നിന്നും ആകാശത്തിന് കീഴില്നിന്നും നശിച്ചുപോകും എന്നിങ്ങനെ അവരോടു പറവിന് .

11. And I will make Jerusalem heaps [and] a den of dragons; and I will make the cities of Judah desolate, without an inhabitant.

12. അവന് തന്റെ ശക്തിയാല് ഭൂമിയെ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു, തന്റെ ജ്ഞാനത്താല് ഭൂമണ്ഡലത്തെ സ്ഥാപിച്ചു, തന്റെ വിവേകത്താല് ആകാശത്തെ വിരിച്ചു.

12. Who [is] the wise man that may understand this? and [who is he] to whom the mouth of the LORD has spoken that he may declare for what cause the land perishes [and] is burned up like a wilderness that no one passes through?

13. അവന് തന്റെ നാദം പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കുമ്പോള് ആകാശത്തു വെള്ളത്തിന്റെ മുഴക്കം ഉണ്ടാകുന്നു; ഭൂമിയുടെ അറ്റങ്ങളില്നിന്നു അവന് ആവി കയറ്റുന്നു; മഴെക്കു മിന്നല് ഉണ്ടാക്കി തന്റെ ഭണ്ഡാരത്തില്നിന്നു കാറ്റു പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കുന്നു.

13. And the LORD said, Because they have forsaken my law, which I set before them, and have not heard my voice, neither walked therein,

14. ഏതു മനുഷ്യനും മൃഗപ്രായനും പരിജ്ഞാനമില്ലാത്തവനും ആകുന്നു; തട്ടാന്മാരൊക്കെയും വിഗ്രഹംനിമിത്തം ലജ്ജിച്ചുപോകുന്നു; അവര് വാര്ത്തുണ്ടാക്കിയ വിഗ്രഹം വ്യാജമത്രേ; അവയില് ശ്വാസവുമില്ല.

14. but have walked after the imagination of their own heart and after the Baalim, which their fathers taught them,

15. അവ മായയും വ്യര്ത്ഥ പ്രവൃര്ത്തിയും തന്നേ; സന്ദര്ശനകാലത്തു അവ നശിച്ചുപോകും.

15. Therefore thus hath the LORD of the hosts the God of Israel said: Behold, I will feed them, [even] this people, with wormwood and give them water of gall to drink.

16. യാക്കോബിന്റെ ഔഹരിയായവന് അവയെപ്പോലെയല്ല; അന് സര്വ്വത്തെയും നിര്മ്മിച്ചവന് ; യിസ്രായേല് അവന്റെ അവകാശഗോത്രം; സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ എന്നാകുന്നു അവന്റെ നാമം.

16. I will scatter them also among Gentiles whom neither they nor their fathers have known, and I will send a sword after them until I have consumed them.

17. നിരോധത്തില് ഇരിക്കുന്നവളേ, നിലത്തു നിന്നു നിന്റെ ഭാണ്ഡം എടുത്തുകൊള്ക.

17. Thus hath the LORD of the hosts said, Consider ye and call for the mourning women that they may come and send for cunning [women] that they may come,

18. യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഞാന് ഈ തവണ ദേശത്തിലെ നിവാസികളെ കവിണയില്വെച്ചെറിഞ്ഞുകളകയും അവര്ക്കും പറ്റുവാന്തക്കവണ്ണം അവരെ ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

18. and let them make haste and take up a wailing for us that our eyes may run down with tears and our eyelids gush out with waters.

19. എന്റെ പരിക്കുനിമിത്തം എനിക്കു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം! എന്റെ മുറിവു വ്യസനകരമാകുന്നു; എങ്കിലും ഞാന് അതു എന്റെ ദീനം! ഞാന് അതു സഹിച്ചേ മതിയാവു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

19. For a voice of wailing is heard out of Zion, How are we destroyed! We are greatly confounded. Why have we forsaken the land? Why have our dwellings cast [us] out?

20. എന്റെ കൂടാരം കവര്ച്ചയായ്പോയിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ കയറു ഒക്കെയും അറ്റിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ മക്കള് എന്നെ വിട്ടുപോയി; അവര് ഇല്ലാതായിരിക്കുന്നു; ഇനി എന്റെ കൂടാരം അടിപ്പാനും തിരശ്ശീല നിവിര്ക്കുംവാനും ആരുമില്ല.

20. Yet hear the word of the LORD, O ye women, and let your ear receive the word of his mouth and teach your daughters wailing and each one her neighbour lamentation.

21. ഇടയന്മാര് മൃഗപ്രായരായ്തീര്ന്നു; യഹോവയെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നില്ല; അതുകൊണ്ടു അവര് കൃതാര്ത്ഥരായില്ല; അവരുടെ ആട്ടിന് കൂട്ടം ഒക്കെയും ചിതറിപ്പോയി.

21. For death is come up into our windows [and] is entered into our palaces to cut off the children from without [and] the young men from the streets.

22. കേട്ടോ, ഒരു ശ്രുതിഇതാ, യെഹൂദപട്ടണങ്ങളെ ശൂന്യവും കുറുക്കന്മാരുടെ പാര്പ്പിടവും ആക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അതു വടക്കുനിന്നു ഒരു മഹാകോലാഹലവുമായി വരുന്നു.

22. Speak, Thus hath the LORD said, Even the carcasses of men shall fall as dung upon the open field and as the handful after the harvestman, and there shall be none to gather [them].

23. യഹോവേ, മനുഷ്യന്നു തന്റെ വഴിയും നടക്കുന്നവന്നു തന്റെ കാലടികളെ നേരെ ആക്കുന്നതും സ്വാധീനമല്ല എന്നു ഞാന് അറിയുന്നു.

23. Thus hath the LORD said, Let not the wise [man] glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty [man] glory in his might, let not the rich [man] glory in his riches;

24. യഹോവേ, ഞാന് ഇല്ലാതെയായ്പോകാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ എന്നെ കോപത്തോടെയല്ല ന്യായത്തോടെയത്രേ ശിക്ഷിക്കേണമേ.

24. but let him that glories glory in this, that he understands me and knows me, that I [am] the LORD who does mercy, judgment, and righteousness in the earth: for in these [things] I delight, said the LORD.

25. നിന്നെ അറിയാത്ത ജാതികളുടെമേലും നിന്റെ നാമം വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിക്കാത്ത വംശങ്ങളുടെമേലും നിന്റെ ക്രോധം പകരേണമേ; അവര് യാക്കോബിനെ വിഴുങ്ങിക്കളഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ; അവര് അവനെ വിഴുങ്ങി നശിപ്പിച്ചു അവന്റെ വാസസ്ഥലത്തെ ശൂന്യമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
