1. യിസ്രായേലേ, നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ അടുക്കലേക്കു മടങ്ങിച്ചെല്ലുക; നിന്റെ അകൃത്യംനിമിത്തം അല്ലോ നീ വീണിരിക്കുന്നതു.

1. Turn back, O Israel, unto Jehovah thy God, For thou hast stumbled by thine iniquity.

2. നിങ്ങള് അനുതാപവാക്യങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ യഹോവയുടെ അടുക്കല് മടങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു അവനോടുസകല അകൃത്യത്തെയും ക്ഷമിച്ചു, ഞങ്ങളെ കൃപയോടെ കൈക്കൊള്ളേണമേ; എന്നാല് ഞങ്ങള് ഞങ്ങളുടെ അധരാര്പ്പണമായ കാളകളെ അര്പ്പിക്കും;

2. Take with you words, and turn to Jehovah, Say ye unto Him: 'Take away all iniquity, and give good, And we do render the fruit of our lips.

3. അശ്ശൂര് ഞങ്ങളെ രക്ഷിക്കയില്ല; ഞങ്ങള് കുതിരപ്പുറത്തു കയറി ഔടുകയോ ഇനി ഞങ്ങളുടെ കൈ വേലയോടുഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമേ എന്നു പറകയോ ചെയ്കയില്ല; അനാഥന്നു തിരുസന്നിധിയില് കരുണ ലഭിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറവിന് .

3. Asshur doth not save us, on a horse we ride not, Nor do we say any more, Our God, to the work of our hands, For in Thee find mercy doth the fatherless.'

4. ഞാന് അവരുടെ പിന് മാറ്റത്തെ ചികിത്സിച്ചു സൌഖ്യമാക്കും; എന്റെ കോപം അവനെ വിട്ടുമാറിയിരിക്കയാല് ഞാന് അവരെ ഔദാര്യമായി സ്നേഹിക്കും.

4. I heal their backsliding, I love them freely, For turned back hath Mine anger from him.

5. ഞാന് യിസ്രായേലിന്നു മഞ്ഞുപോലെയിരിക്കും; അവന് താമരപോലെ പൂത്തു ലെബാനോന് വനം പോലെ വേരൂന്നും.

5. I am as dew to Israel, he flourisheth as a lily, And he striketh forth his roots as Lebanon.

6. അവന്റെ കൊമ്പുകള് പടരും; അവന്റെ ഭംഗി ഒലിവുവൃക്ഷത്തിന് ഭംഗിപോലെയും അവന്റെ വാസന ലെബാനോന്റേതുപോലെയും ഇരിക്കും.

6. Go on do his sucklings, And his beauty is as an olive, And he hath fragrance as Lebanon.

7. അവന്റെ നിഴലില് പാര്ക്കുംന്നവര് വീണ്ടും ധാന്യം വിളയിക്കയും മുന്തിരിവള്ളിപോലെ തളിര്ക്കയും ചെയ്യും; അതിന്റെ കീര്ത്തി ലെബാനോനിലെ വീഞ്ഞിന്റേതുപോലെ ഇരിക്കും.

7. Return do the dwellers under his shadow, They revive [as] corn, and flourish as a vine, His memorial [is] as wine of Lebanon.

8. എഫ്രയീമേ, ഇനി എനിക്കും വിഗ്രഹങ്ങള്ക്കും തമ്മില് എന്തു? ഞാന് അവന്നു ഉത്തരം അരുളി അവനെ കടാക്ഷിക്കും; ഞാന് തഴെച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന സരള വൃക്ഷംപോലെ ആകുന്നു. എങ്കല് നിനക്കു ഫലം കണ്ടുകിട്ടും.

8. O Ephraim, what to Me any more with idols? I -- I afflicted, and I cause him to sing: 'I [am] as a green fir-tree,' From Me is thy fruit found.

9. ഇതു ഗ്രഹിപ്പാന് തക്ക ജ്ഞാനി ആര്? ഇതു അറിവാന് തക്ക വിവേകി ആര്? യഹോവയുടെ വഴികള് ചൊവ്വുള്ളവയല്ലോ; നീതിമാന്മാര് അവയില് നടക്കും; അതിക്രമക്കാരോ അവയില് ഇടറിവീഴും.

9. Who [is] wise, and doth understand these? Prudent, and knoweth them? For upright are the ways of Jehovah, And the righteous go on in them, And the transgressors stumble therein!
