1. യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നതു കേള്പ്പിന് ; നീ എഴുന്നേറ്റു പര്വ്വതങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പാകെ വ്യവഹരിക്ക; കുന്നുകള് നിന്റെ വാക്കു കേള്ക്കട്ടെ;

1. The LORD said to his people: Come and present your case to the hills and mountains.

2. പര്വ്വതങ്ങളും ഭൂമിയുടെ സ്ഥിരമായ അടിസ്ഥാനങ്ങളുമായുള്ളോവേ, യഹോവയുടെ വ്യവഹാരം കേള്പ്പിന് ! യഹോവേക്കു തന്റെ ജനത്തോടു ഒരു വ്യവഹാരം ഉണ്ടു; അവന് യിസ്രായേലിനോടു വാദിക്കും.

2. Israel, I am bringing charges against you-- I call upon the mountains and the earth's firm foundation to be my witnesses.

3. എന്റെ ജനമേ, ഞാന് നിന്നോടു എന്തു ചെയ്തു? ഏതൊന്നിനാല് ഞാന് നിന്നെ മുഷിപ്പിച്ചു? എന്റെ നേരെ സാക്ഷീകരിക്ക.

3. My people, have I wronged you in any way at all? Please tell me.

6. What offering should I bring when I bow down to worship the LORD God Most High? Should I try to please him by sacrificing calves a year old?

7. ആയിരം ആയിരം ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനിലും പതിനായിരം പതിനായിരം തൈലനദിയിലും യഹോവ പ്രസാദിക്കുമോ? എന്റെ അതിക്രമത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടി ഞാന് എന്റെ ആദ്യജാതനെയും ഞാന് ചെയ്ത പാപത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടി എന്റെ ഉദരഫലത്തെയും കൊടുക്കേണമോ?

7. Will thousands of sheep or rivers of olive oil make God satisfied with me? Should I sacrifice to the LORD my first-born child as payment for my terrible sins?

8. മനുഷ്യാ, നല്ലതു എന്തെന്നു അവന് നിനക്കു കാണിച്ചു തന്നിരിക്കുന്നുന്യായം പ്രവര്ത്തിപ്പാനും ദയാതല്പരനായിരിപ്പാനും നിന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സന്നിധിയില് താഴ്മയോടെ നടപ്പാനും അല്ലാതെ എന്താകുന്നു യഹോവ നിന്നോടു ചോദിക്കുന്നതു?

8. The LORD God has told us what is right and what he demands: 'See that justice is done, let mercy be your first concern, and humbly obey your God.'

10. ദുഷ്ടന്റെ വീട്ടില് ഇനിയും അനീതിയുള്ള നിക്ഷേപങ്ങളും ശാപകരമായ കള്ളയളവും ഉണ്ടോ?

10. You store up stolen treasures and use dishonest scales.

11. കള്ളത്തുലാസ്സും കള്ളപ്പടികള് ഇട്ട സഞ്ചിയുമുള്ളവനെ ഞാന് നിര്മ്മലനായി എണ്ണുമോ?

11. But I, the LORD, will punish you for cheating with weights and with measures.

12. അതിലെ ധനവാന്മാര് സാഹസപൂര്ണ്ണന്മാര് ആകുന്നു; അതിന്റെ നിവാസികള് വ്യാജം സംസാരിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ വായില് അവരുടെ നാവു ചതിവുള്ളതു തന്നേ;

12. You rich people are violent, and everyone tells lies.

13. ആകയാല് ഞാന് നിന്നെ കഠിനമായി ദണ്ഡിപ്പിക്കും; നിന്റെ പാപങ്ങള്നിമിത്തം നിന്നെ ശൂന്യമാക്കും.

13. Because of your sins, I will wound you and leave you ruined and defenseless.

14. നീ ഭക്ഷിക്കും; തൃപ്തി വരികയില്ല, വിശപ്പു അടങ്ങുകയുമില്ല; നീ നീക്കിവേക്കും; ഒന്നും സ്വരൂപിക്കയില്ലതാനും; നീ സ്വരൂപിക്കുന്നതു ഞാന് വാളിന്നു ഏല്പിച്ചുകൊടുക്കും.

14. You will eat, but still be hungry; you will store up goods, but lose everything-- I, the LORD, will let it all be captured in war.

15. നീ വിതെക്കും, കൊയ്കയില്ല നീ ഒലീവുകായ് ചവിട്ടും, എണ്ണ പൂശുകയില്ല; മുന്തിരിപ്പഴം ചവിട്ടും, വീഞ്ഞു കുടിക്കയില്ലതാനും.

15. You won't harvest what you plant or use the oil from your olive trees or drink the wine from grapes you grow.

16. ഞാന് നിന്നെ ശൂന്യവും നിന്റെ നിവാസികളെ പരിഹാസവിഷയവും ആക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും നിങ്ങള് എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ നിന്ദവഹിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും ഒമ്രിയുടെ ചട്ടങ്ങളും ആഹാബ്ഗൃഹത്തിന്റെ സകലപ്രവൃത്തികളും പ്രമാണമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ ആലോചനകളെ നിങ്ങള് അനുസരിച്ചുനടക്കുന്നു.

16. Jerusalem, this will happen because you followed the sinful example of kings Omri and Ahab. Now I will destroy you and your property. Then the people of every nation will make fun and insult you.
