1. യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നതു കേള്പ്പിന് ; നീ എഴുന്നേറ്റു പര്വ്വതങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പാകെ വ്യവഹരിക്ക; കുന്നുകള് നിന്റെ വാക്കു കേള്ക്കട്ടെ;

1. Hear, I pray you, what, Yahweh, is saying, arise thou, maintain thy controversy before the mountains, and let the hills hear thy voice:

2. പര്വ്വതങ്ങളും ഭൂമിയുടെ സ്ഥിരമായ അടിസ്ഥാനങ്ങളുമായുള്ളോവേ, യഹോവയുടെ വ്യവഹാരം കേള്പ്പിന് ! യഹോവേക്കു തന്റെ ജനത്തോടു ഒരു വ്യവഹാരം ഉണ്ടു; അവന് യിസ്രായേലിനോടു വാദിക്കും.

2. Hear, ye mountains, the controversy of Yahweh, and ye lasting rocks, the foundations of the earth, for, a controversy, hath Yahweh, with his people, and, with Israel, will he dispute.

3. എന്റെ ജനമേ, ഞാന് നിന്നോടു എന്തു ചെയ്തു? ഏതൊന്നിനാല് ഞാന് നിന്നെ മുഷിപ്പിച്ചു? എന്റെ നേരെ സാക്ഷീകരിക്ക.

3. O my people! what have I done to thee? and wherein have I wearied thee? Testify thou against me!

4. ഞാന് നിന്നെ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചു, അടിമവീട്ടില്നിന്നു നിന്നെ വീണ്ടെടുത്തു, മോശെയെയും അഹരോനെയും മിര്യ്യാമിനെയും നിന്റെ മുമ്പില് അയച്ചു.

4. For I brought thee up out of the land of Egypt, and, out of the house of slaves, I ransomed thee, and I sent before thee, Moses, Aaron and Miriam.

5. എന്റെ ജനമേ നിങ്ങള് യഹോവയുടെ നീതിപ്രവൃത്തികളെ അറിയേണ്ടതിന്നു മോവാബ് രാജാവായ ബാലാക് ആലോചിച്ചതും ബെയോരിന്റെ മകനായ ബിലെയാം ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതും ശിത്തീംമുതല് ഗില്ഗാല്വരെ സംഭവിച്ചതും ഔര്ക്കുംക.

5. O my people! remember, I pray you, what Balak king of Moab, counseled, and what Balaam son of Beer, answered him, from the Acacias as far as Gilgal, that ye may know the righteousness of Yahweh.

6. എന്തൊന്നുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയില് ചെന്നു, അത്യുന്നതദൈവത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ കുമ്പിടേണ്ടു? ഞാന് ഹോമയാഗങ്ങളോടും ഒരു വയസ്സു പ്രായമുള്ള കാളക്കിടാക്കളോടും കൂടെ അവന്റെ സന്നിധിയില് ചെല്ലേണമോ?

6. Wherewith, shall I come before Yahweh? bow myself to God on high? Shall I come before him with ascending-sacrifice? with calves of a year old?

7. ആയിരം ആയിരം ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനിലും പതിനായിരം പതിനായിരം തൈലനദിയിലും യഹോവ പ്രസാദിക്കുമോ? എന്റെ അതിക്രമത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടി ഞാന് എന്റെ ആദ്യജാതനെയും ഞാന് ചെയ്ത പാപത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടി എന്റെ ഉദരഫലത്തെയും കൊടുക്കേണമോ?

7. Will Yahweh, be pleased, with thousands of rams? with myriads of torrents of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression? the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?

8. മനുഷ്യാ, നല്ലതു എന്തെന്നു അവന് നിനക്കു കാണിച്ചു തന്നിരിക്കുന്നുന്യായം പ്രവര്ത്തിപ്പാനും ദയാതല്പരനായിരിപ്പാനും നിന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സന്നിധിയില് താഴ്മയോടെ നടപ്പാനും അല്ലാതെ എന്താകുന്നു യഹോവ നിന്നോടു ചോദിക്കുന്നതു?

8. He hath told thee, O son of earth, what is good, what then is, Yahweh, seeking of thee, but, to do justice, to delight in lovingkindness, and humbly to walk with thy God?

9. കേട്ടോ യഹോവ പട്ടണത്തോടു വിളിച്ചു പറയുന്നതു; നിന്റെ നാമത്തെ ഭയപ്പെടുന്നതു ജ്ഞാനം ആകുന്നു; വടിയെയും അതിനെ നിയമിച്ചവനെയും ശ്രദ്ധിപ്പിന് .

9. The voice of Yahweh, to the city, crieth out, With safety for him who regardeth his name, Hear ye the rod, and who hath appointed it.

10. ദുഷ്ടന്റെ വീട്ടില് ഇനിയും അനീതിയുള്ള നിക്ഷേപങ്ങളും ശാപകരമായ കള്ളയളവും ഉണ്ടോ?

10. Even yet, are there, in the house of the lawless one, the treasures of lawlessness, and the scant measure accurst?

11. കള്ളത്തുലാസ്സും കള്ളപ്പടികള് ഇട്ട സഞ്ചിയുമുള്ളവനെ ഞാന് നിര്മ്മലനായി എണ്ണുമോ?

11. Shall I be pure with lawless balances? or with bag of deceitful weights?

12. അതിലെ ധനവാന്മാര് സാഹസപൂര്ണ്ണന്മാര് ആകുന്നു; അതിന്റെ നിവാസികള് വ്യാജം സംസാരിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ വായില് അവരുടെ നാവു ചതിവുള്ളതു തന്നേ;

12. For, her rich men, are full of violence, and, her inhabitants, have spoken falsehood, and, their tongue, is deceitful in their mouth.

13. ആകയാല് ഞാന് നിന്നെ കഠിനമായി ദണ്ഡിപ്പിക്കും; നിന്റെ പാപങ്ങള്നിമിത്തം നിന്നെ ശൂന്യമാക്കും.

13. Moreover also, I, have made thee sick with smiting thee, laying thee waste because of thy sins.

14. നീ ഭക്ഷിക്കും; തൃപ്തി വരികയില്ല, വിശപ്പു അടങ്ങുകയുമില്ല; നീ നീക്കിവേക്കും; ഒന്നും സ്വരൂപിക്കയില്ലതാനും; നീ സ്വരൂപിക്കുന്നതു ഞാന് വാളിന്നു ഏല്പിച്ചുകൊടുക്കും.

14. Thou, shalt eat and not be satisfied, but be shrunk with hunger within thee, Though thou remove, yet shalt thou not set in safety, and, what thou dost set in safety, to the sword, will I deliver.

15. നീ വിതെക്കും, കൊയ്കയില്ല നീ ഒലീവുകായ് ചവിട്ടും, എണ്ണ പൂശുകയില്ല; മുന്തിരിപ്പഴം ചവിട്ടും, വീഞ്ഞു കുടിക്കയില്ലതാനും.

15. Thou, shalt sow, but shalt not reap, thou, shalt tread the olive, but shalt not anoint thee with oil, also the grape, but shalt not drink the wine.

16. ഞാന് നിന്നെ ശൂന്യവും നിന്റെ നിവാസികളെ പരിഹാസവിഷയവും ആക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും നിങ്ങള് എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ നിന്ദവഹിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും ഒമ്രിയുടെ ചട്ടങ്ങളും ആഹാബ്ഗൃഹത്തിന്റെ സകലപ്രവൃത്തികളും പ്രമാണമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ ആലോചനകളെ നിങ്ങള് അനുസരിച്ചുനടക്കുന്നു.

16. For strictly observed are the statutes of Omri, and every doing of the house of Ahab, and ye have walked in their counsels, to the end I may give thee up to desolation, and her inhabitants to hissing, that, the reproach of peoples, ye may bear.
